Just got my Nexus Player which I rooted. Installed Sideload Launcher and sometimes I press to open an app there and a totally different app opens up.
Anyone knows why?
Maybe your home is haunted?? Or the NP is possessed...??
Could it be your remote, low on batteries, sticky buttons, spill any liquids on it?
Does this only happen in Side Launcher, not the stock?
What happens if you delete SL's data, uninstall/reinstall, still happening?
These are pretty easy to do and you should be able to do this yourself. I'd try these first, to isolate the issue, that's the key to trouble shooting, once you're able to zero in on it, if it's either your remote or the launcher, then simply replace/eliminate whichevers causing you the grief and BAM, problem solved. Let us know how it turns out, even if you resorted to getting a priest for an exorcism, your results would help someone else with similar problem.

My nexus 10 is freaking out all of the sudden. The keyboard is disappearing after I type a few keystrokes. I thought maybe swift key was the issue. Tried two other keyboards and it is still happening. In addition, my browser is force closing so much. It started last week after watching lots of video on it. Not sure if it's related. I thought the specific browser may have been the issue so I tried surfing in dolphin, Firefox, chrome, etc. It is crashing every few minutes. It is very frustrating. It sometimes seems related to the keyboard issue and sometimes seems totally independent. I literally had to post this from my phone because the tablet force closed the browser on me 5 times while trying to post. Sorry if this post is redundant but I couldn't find anything in my searches. Any suggestions would be welcome or help in pointing to where I might read about troubleshooting in a different thread.
Thanks!
Update: this doesn't explain the keyboard thing but I have noticed that when the app crashes, the wifi bars go from blue to grey. Is there a fix for that?
2nd update: it's quickly getting worse. Every app is crashing every few moments. Even gallery! Ahhhhh! Someone please help me!
I have been experiencing the same issue. Just recently started about a week ago. I have stock nexus 10. My browser of choice is Dolphin. I'm thinking the issue is with the keyboard not the browser.

I have the same problem with my nexus 10 same issue with wifi also, when the keyboard drops out so does wifi. I also still have issues with Youtube refreshing half way through a video. Love this tablet but if it keeps it up iI'm selling it.
Same here. I'm having the exact same problems. All of them. The keyboard, apps crashing, Wifi bars going grey. I'm even get problems with YouTube, Play Store, and Feedly saying, "Tap to reconnect", and I have to press it like 3 or 4 times then it works. I think I know what the problem is though. If anyone is using Flash player. That might be causing the problem, because when I was using Adblock. I was getting horrible internet connecting then I disable it and then worked fine.
Has anyone else had an issue where the backdrop refuses to kick in automatically after the preset time? It simply won't activate for me on its own (neither daydream nor color works). If I manually start it from the settings menu it will launch. I've tried rebooting the device and it still won't work. Any ideas?
UPDATE: I've been doing some troubleshooting, and after uninstalling Plex and rebooting, backdrop starting working again. I then installed Plex again, and it briefly worked, but then stopped.....so I'm wondering if Plex is causing the issue. I suppose the next step is to leave Plex uninstalled for a while and see what happens.
I have the same problem. What happens is the screen just goes black when it is supposed to go on. Like you I can run it manually through the settings. I don't even have Plex installed so I have no idea why it stopped working. I can't understand how there is no simple way to restart the player too...
Based on my experiences so far, it appears that Google rushed this unfinished prototype out to the market. I have so many little problems and find that video playback is choppy at times. This thing needs some attention quickly.

I agree. It definitely seems pretty buggy at this point.
So far, in my case though, it's been running much better since I uninstalled Plex. Also, I was having an issue with the microphone on the remote controller REALLY sucking. It would hardly ever work properly. It would regularly not pick up any of what I said or pick up only the first word or so. BUT, since uninstalling Plex, the microphone has been working perfectly. It's like night and day. I'm going to keep monitoring it, but it seems like Plex was definitely causing this problem for me in addition to my backdrop problem.
With all of that said, perhaps you installed a different app that's causing problems for you?
I've noticed that for the past few days this bug keeps happening. I try to use the Nexus Player remote to navigate and sometimes it gets stuck on trying to perform an action I didn't want to do (selecting a video repeatedly/using the voice search function). The light on top of the mic button also keeps flashing when this happens.
The only way to fix this problem is to take out the batteries on the remote. This sometimes happen outside the app but it is a lot more frequent inside the app. I'm currently running the latest Isengard 15 Beta available from the Play Store.
Does anybody else have this problem? Is this a Kodi-related bug or is it a software problem that Google can patch? I would also like to know how to stop this from happening.
I think Ive experienced this and outside Kodi. I have a feeling its Nexus Player problem. Others?
Use the app yatze for controlling kodi it's a great app and free. I also use the nexus player remote app my kids have the NP remote and I haven't seen it for months but the apps work great on both my wife and my phone hope that helps
Hello, I have a stock rooted N6p with ElementalX kernel and that's it so far. I am ugrading from a Nexus 5 and using the transfer process of the phone to import all my apps.
I noticed that somewhere in the 120+ apps transferring I have an app that's causing a bug which is that when the screen is off the volume buttons on the phone do not work, same for my headphones, standard sennheiser momentums with mic. The mic input for voice works though.
To narrow what's causing the bug I have gone back to full stock with and without the kernel and it is definitely an app having that problem, it comes back during the mass import before I install the kernel or root so everything is full stock at the point it's happening.
Does anyone knows of a way to find what app would be causing the problem without having to remove and reinstall and test and/or reboot for each ones ? I have removed the most probable causes with all audio apps and it is not anything like Spotify or any other players. So right now I'd prefer not to have to spend hours manually finding what's the problem.
Any ideas are appreciated
You can try to reboot to safe mode first. On safe mode, your 6P will be as good as new, as if no other apps are installed in it. If the issue persists, consult your doctor, lol JK. Try uninstalling one app at a time starting with the ones that you suspect.
Perhaps checking app permission and denying them one by one for different apps could be faster, compared to uninstalling apps. Worth a try.
I figured that I have a bug with being locked or not, when screen is off & no lock mechanisms like fingerprints then I cannot use the volume buttons, either on phone proper or headset. We are a bunch of users having this problem on google's bugs website, I fixed this by implementing the fingerprinting locks thank you for your suggestions

Hey all.
Hoping to hear of anyone here has had this problem with the new KODI. I am using CM 12.1 on my MOJO, with all my media on a 2Tb external USB hard drive (Western Digital).
Krypton is a terrific update for the most part, but I am finding that it freezes when exiting a file. This appears to happen when actually watching a file all the way through to conclusion, as opposed to just having a brief flick through.
I'm not an expert with logs but I did have a look, and it seems there's possibly an issue with the controller (I'm using the stock CTRLR). It shows an error about /dev/input/js0. I'm wondering if this is something to do with how the controller goes to sleep when not active for long periods, and you have to press the middle button to wake it. But it always freezes when attempting to return to the KODI main screen after a file has played.
If you've had this please post up. Hoping to not have to register for the KODI forum. Thanks all.
Heh, not having much luck with this. Posted it up on the Kodi forums but no responses there either.
Is it just me experiencing this?
Think I've solved this. Posting up in case anyone has the same issue.
It looks like the Weather add on isn't working so well. Simply disabling the Weather widget has restored sanity to my MOJO! No freezes since disabling this. Hope it helps someone.
