Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Car Audio Aux Issue - Galaxy Tab 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just brought a Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 and tried to connect with 3mm audio car to the aux in my car and it will not work. I tried plugging multiple times but same issue. Headphones work fine, my old xoom tablet works fine, my Samsung galaxy 5 phone works fine in the car with the same aux car. Is there a defect with the S4 tablet as many ppl seem to be have this issue? I got it to work once after plugging multiple times and it finally said it recognized headphones but after that nothing, even after recognized headphones popped up it still wouldn't play thru the car speakers. Any ideas?

[Q] Slimport audio fail

Okay... Backstory... I have 2 issues with my N4. the first is that the headphone jack has decided that headphones are always plugged in, and I have to use Soundabout app to use my phone without headphones. Cant RMA, so ordered a replacement headphone jack that should be here in about a week.
Main issue... Slimport. I finally got my Slimport adapter a few days ago, and I loved it. I was running the 6/10 build of PA, and audio and video mirroring to my Pioneer appradio was awesome. For 2 days... No rom change or kernel change, and all of a sudden no more audio. Video still works over Slimpport, but audio does not. I tried reflashing same rom, clean install, new builds, old builds, cm 10.1, sabermod, aokp, and the logcats all look about the same, so I am assuming the slimport adapter has failed somehow. Can it fail on just audio and the video still work? I tried the adapter to a couple of tvs with same results. The logcats show "failed to set hw/sw params" "pcm stream closed" I will post the logcat later today, as I left the N4 at home this morning. (Having to use a bloody iPhone 4S as a backup. , but at least ios 7 is fun to play with.)
I am wondering if somehow the headphone jack has degraded further, and is causing this issue, or if my slimport adapter is broken, or if my N4 is failing... setting in soundabout, including the aux hdmi setting, to no avail.
edit: I forgot to mention that when the slimport was working for audio, I did have soundabout installed too, and leaving media audio on 'let app decide' and headset detection ignored still allowed the slimport to function properly. Since it has stopped working I have tried every
Any thoughts?
Maybe the jack has degraded further and the phone thinks a headphone is connected and routing audio through the jack instead of Slimport.
Try plugging in a headphone and see if you get sound through the headphones and video via Slimport.

If I plug in headphones, I can indeed get audio through the headphones. Without headphones, and with soundabout set to ignore headphones, audio is routed through the phone speaker. Without soundabout installed, audio goes only to headphone jack.
When slimport audio was working, I had soundabout set to ignore headset as well.
I solved my issue with Slimport! Headphone jack is still messed up, but slimport audio works now. I had been on. 54 radio. I reflashed the bootloader and radio (44?. 48? Icr) and now slimport works for audio

Weird bluetooth behavior

I have a note 10.1 gt-8013 (2012) with 4.1.2. I have a bluetooth speaker that I used to be able to connect to without any problem in the past. Now it shows that I'm connected to speaker but sound comes out of notes speakers, but i can still control music from speaker controls(next song, repeat etc). I also have a android phone running 2.3.4 that is having the same problems, shows connected but music coming from phones speakers. I thought it might be the speaker going bad, but I have another speaker and these two devices act the same way with it. I know the speakers work fine because my wife has an iphone that connects without any problems to both speakers. Is there some some setting on my phone or tablet that has changed that doesent let me connect to bt speaker? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Have you tried to re-pair them together again? Unpair them and then re-pair.

unpaired and repaired several times, no change. rebooted all devices, still no change.

Headphone compatibility

Been googling for 30 minutes and can't seem to find an answer. I have a pair of Klipsch S4a headphones that have worked fine with all my previous android phones but not working on note four. sound is fine but microphone does not work and neither do the button . I have downloaded the app made by the manufacture and still no luck. Is it possible the pin out of our phone is different then the note 3 ?
Do the samsung headphone work because it could be a faulty phone
Didn't try the Samsung ones but I have another brand and they work
I have a pair of Bose QC 15 and a Plantronics Rig and they both work great with the Note 4. Make sure the jack is going in all the way
Jack in all the way. JBL set works fine. Klipsch S4a set works but not Mic or button

[Q] S5 doesn't work with Car's audio after Lollipop Upgrade.

I upgraded my Galaxy S5 to lollipop (via OTA and rooted it) and I plugged in my car's aux cable into my phone to play music and... nothing. Mind you, it worked the same day before I upgraded. Now nothing ive tried in other cars and is the same thing over AUX it works on bluethoot but not on AUX. My earbuds work with it, my headphones work with my phone. When i plug in different media to the car, it works just fine. But my S5 plugged into my car. Nope, nothing.
UPDATE: I downgraded to KitKat and the audio works again. This obviously doesn't count as a fix though.
I really need help on this one. :good:

Bluetooth issues connecting to my car stereo

So I just got this phone two days ago, switching over from a Galaxy 9+. And I can't for the life of me get this thing to connect to my Pioneer car stereo! I just got the stereo a week or so ago and that was one of my favorite things about it and The Galaxy is that it constantly was connected and I was able to play music the second I stepped in the car. I can't get this thing to connect whatsoever. Anybody else have Bluetooth problems with this phone?
