Can I access my broken s4 using MHL to HDTV? I did not enable MHL or anything before the screen was broken. I'd like to use it as a webcam or maybe media stream to HDTV. Any other options for accessing the device (not just the data, but using the device).

Hi guys,
Just bought a vega, which should arrive soon. I'd love to be able to hook it up to my SDTV via composite, and I know the device supports USB Host mode.
Therefore does anyone know of a device which will allow me to mirror the screen via composite using the USB Host mode in any ROM?
Thanks a lot!
I don't think you can output video thru USB on any Android device.
MHL is for that and Vega doesn't have that connector.
You can only output thru HDMI, therefore you probably need something like this:

Hey all,
Just a question in regards to viability of the nexus as a computer replacement:
can you connect the nexus 7 to a 32" lcd tv screen (via hdmi) and use external keyboard\mice ? (+do the HDMI carry the sound from the device)
thinking of trowing away my pc, i almost never use it as is.. and all i require is some word processing, movie streaming and surfing the web.
what do you say? can it be done?
You can attach a keyboard via Bluetooth or via USB OTG, but there's no MHL or HDMI output on the Nexus 7. Try a search for MHL or HDMI to see a selection of discussions around media streaming, but there's no screen duplication that I've seen.
So I guess the short answer to your question is no, unless you don't mind a 7" screen for your word processing and web surfing

Q_Q
So the nexus 7 is not perfect after all :<
Could you recommend any other tablet with as similar as possible spec that actually supports screen duplication?
+ why didn't they just add the ability to connect to hdmi via micro usb to hdmi adapter
Hi All,
I use Allcast Share on my S3 to output wirelessly to my Miracast-enabled TV.
I also have an old Windows XP laptop which doesn't have Miracast/WIDI hardware.
I was wondering if there's any way to use the S3 as a USB Miracast transmitter dongle? I.e.: output the screen of my laptop to the TV via the Miracast hardware of the S3? Either through USB or through WIFI?
I was thinking of having an NX/RDP client running on the S3 connecting to the laptop, and then activating AllCast share, but maybe there are more efficient ways which allow to save overhead and reduce the lag?
The S3 is a corporate phone so i can't root it.
Thanks in advance for any thought

Hi, I have an S4 with touchscreen and displays broken. I want to ask if is there any possibility to enable S4 bluetooth with pc? I want to use the S4 with Kodi, like a mini Pc and connect it with my TV. I have a MHL cable and i see the image on my TV but i can't use the phone, if i don't know how to enable the bluetooth to connect the mouse.
Since I still owe over $200 on my Galaxy S4 with destroyed display and digitizer, but can operate it via the USB port with Vysor, I'm wondering if there's a way to convert it into a media center device to connect to an HDMI port on a TV? I've seen MHL+power and OTG+power cables, but is there a way to have MHL+OTG+power together?
If it's not possible to do all three together through the USB port, relying on Bluetooth for mouse and keyboard input, it will need a way to completely disable attempting to contact the cellphone network while leaving WiFi and Bluetooth enabled.
