[Q] S3 as a Miracast TRANSMITTER dongle? - Galaxy S III General

Hi All,
I use Allcast Share on my S3 to output wirelessly to my Miracast-enabled TV.
I also have an old Windows XP laptop which doesn't have Miracast/WIDI hardware.
I was wondering if there's any way to use the S3 as a USB Miracast transmitter dongle? I.e.: output the screen of my laptop to the TV via the Miracast hardware of the S3? Either through USB or through WIFI?
I was thinking of having an NX/RDP client running on the S3 connecting to the laptop, and then activating AllCast share, but maybe there are more efficient ways which allow to save overhead and reduce the lag?
The S3 is a corporate phone so i can't root it.
Thanks in advance for any thought
Regards

[Q] i9505(int) hdmi through receiver

hey,
i can't get it to work through my av receiver (denon avr-1909),tv is lg 37lf66,or lf65,not sure now),of course i have 11pin mhl adapter from samsung, connecting directly to tv it just works, but not through receiver,it displays "Connect your device to the TV directly via the HDMI cable",i traced it to string "hdmi_connect_indirectly",which makes more sense than the message
so,is that some kind of protection,or what the ** is samsung trying to tell me? (this string is all that i can trace )
logcat captured as 'clear-connect-wait for text-stop'
that message "TvoutToast : Připojte zařízení přímo k TV pomocí kabelu HDMI" is my error message, only in czech lang
edit:forgot rom-currently omega 7,but the same problem was with stock, some earlier version, maybe a month back latest
I have the exact same issue on my i545 Galaxy S4 when using my Samsung MHL 2.0 adapter. It works fine connected directly to my TV, but not to my receiver. What's odd is that the old MHL cable for the S3 works fine with my receiver when connected to the S4
It makes me wonder if Samsung intentionally set it up like that. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this issue.
Problem connecting S4 through AV receiver
Hi Guys
We have the same problem - just upgraded our TV to Panny GT60 and AV receiver to Pioneer LX76 - connecting S4 to TV with Samsung MHL adapter works fine, but get the same message as above when trying to connect through the receiver (either using Pioneer's supplied cable & MHL port or the Samsung adapter via a normal HDMI port).
Contacted Samsung and had this response:
Dear Matt,
Thank you for contacting Samsung Customer Support.
I am sorry to hear the issues you are having in connecting your device to an AV Receiver. I can understand this is very frustrating.
Unfortunately with the HDMI output of the device we can only support a connection to a TV I am afraid. We are sorry for any inconvience but a connection to an AV Receiver is not a supported feature of the device.
If there is anything else we can help with, please let us know.

I've also emailed the MHL consortium as they list both devices (AV & phone) as "MHL compatible", but to be honest expect a similar answer. Pioneer think that it may be something to do with copy protection as if you can stream HD video via the receiver you could output it to a recording device of some sort.
Anyway, hope this helps,
Best
Matt.

Code:
Share your videos, photos and more on your HDTV! The MHL 2.0 HDTV Smart Adapter supports HD signals up to 1080p.
Connect directly to your MHL-enabled mobile phone with a Micro USB input to create an HDMI docking station.
Then, connect a standard HDMI cable for easy connectivity to home theater or monitor. In order to function,
the Adapter also needs to be connected to a power source via the Micro USB port on the adapter itself.
(HDMI Cable and Micro USB Travel Charger sold separately). MHL 2.0-enabled phones allow a higher charge
to be passed through the adapter, allowing you to play video without needing to attach a charger.
my home theater is denon avr-1909 + ue40es8000 and also my blood is starting to boil...
also(and i'm 99% sure this is in stock rom) there's option to select audio mode to stereo/multi-channel,sure to prevent piracy..
aaaand one more thing....i can play music to receiver when i disconnect tv from receiver(i could disable hdmi-cec,but you know.. ),so it appears, that s4 don't like more than one device on hdmi bus(as we know, that all devices must talk to sender i guess,in this case s4),so this seems as a bug to me....
i'd like to see any mention about galaxy s4 supporting only tv as hdmi device...
edit 4.9.: got +- the same answer as Matt ...still trying, because i believe this is bug, maybe cyanogenmod has some cure(i think i checked and it was the same,so maybe some closed cource firmware?)..let's hope for samsung fix

S4/hdmi works with note2 or S3 cable
Hi All,
I also have the same issues with ET-H10FAUWESTA cable but hdmi output through my onkyo hometheater works with a cable for S3/Note2 from "Cable matters". I can't tell about mhl, i have not tried, but audio & video work well.
Hope it helps.

Same issue
I'm having the same issue with my ET-H10FAUWESTA cable. It worked for a while before this, but now it's displaying that error as well, even when it does display through the receiver. I don't understand why it would stop and then start again. Why would they support 7.1 surround sound and 3D if you can't even put it through a receiver? My TV doesn't have 7 speakers and a sub woofer.

[Q] Ethernet, PS4 Remote Play, Limelight and Bluetooth.

Hello,
I am really thinking about getting this device. I have a few things that I am concerned about, though. I would like to be able to stream Limelight and PS4 Remote Play, use my DualShock 4, BT headphones and ethernet. Is that possible with this device? I know that it does not have an ethernet port, but is it possible to do via OTG and USB/ethernet hub? And, what is the overall opinion of this device?
Thank you in advance for any and all responses!

[Q] How to enable S4 bluetooth via pc.

Hi, I have an S4 with touchscreen and displays broken. I want to ask if is there any possibility to enable S4 bluetooth with pc? I want to use the S4 with Kodi, like a mini Pc and connect it with my TV. I have a MHL cable and i see the image on my TV but i can't use the phone, if i don't know how to enable the bluetooth to connect the mouse.

broken screen, access via MHL or debug emulator?

Can I access my broken s4 using MHL to HDTV? I did not enable MHL or anything before the screen was broken. I'd like to use it as a webcam or maybe media stream to HDTV. Any other options for accessing the device (not just the data, but using the device).

Convert a broken Galaxy S4 to media center?

Since I still owe over $200 on my Galaxy S4 with destroyed display and digitizer, but can operate it via the USB port with Vysor, I'm wondering if there's a way to convert it into a media center device to connect to an HDMI port on a TV? I've seen MHL+power and OTG+power cables, but is there a way to have MHL+OTG+power together?
If it's not possible to do all three together through the USB port, relying on Bluetooth for mouse and keyboard input, it will need a way to completely disable attempting to contact the cellphone network while leaving WiFi and Bluetooth enabled.
