Hey all,
Been looking around for answers to this now, not finding any.
Is it possible, and easy, to downgrade back to the stock 2.1 ROM from Froyo? I've got a Stock N1 that i upgraded to Froyo. Now i hear that Google pulled the official file and i am thinking of going back to 2.1 until they push the 2.2 OTA.
Also, is there any difference between the UK stock 2.1 ROM and the US?
Appreciate any help, thanks.
Only if you root.
hi im in europe so 2.1 firmware is not available so can i use 2.1 custom firmware if so will all features work and can i revert it back to stock so when the official 2.1 comes out so i could revert to the official 2.1?
Yes if you have a GSM Hero any of the ROMs in the Development section will be fine to use. ... Use BTDAG's guide linked in my signature for instructions. .....And yes, if you feel the need to return back to stock you can do so by running one of the RUU .exe files.
Hey guys,
I have a red lens defy, completely stock.
Its running android version 2.2.2 and the kernel is 2.6.32.9
(I'm from New Zealand)
I was thinking of flashing wiui and it all makes sense to me except the part in the instructions that says:
-1. Flash 2.2 CEE ROM or Nordic
Does this mean I need to flash I different sbf? or does it not matter?
Many thanks, and apologies if this has already been blatantly answered.
Respect.
anybody have an idea? I dont wanna do it wrong haaha.
Not necessary. Your stock 2.2.2 should work with wiui without problem, so try and if you have problem then just flash the Nordic one.
Awesome, many thanks
Have a great day.
Hey all
As soon as i got my verizon lg g2 phone i flashed a custom rom and since then i have not had working GPS. i have tried a bunch of fixes and nothing works. So it seems i need to flash back to stock and open a GPS app so it can find signal then i can flash to a rom if i desire.
My question is...
Which version should i flash back to? should i flash the kitkat VS98024A_11 or an older and take the OTA? I want to be able to root after i flash back to stock and would like some input on the best process to accomplish this.
Thanks for any help and direction you can provide!
Recently I've wanted to remove cyanogen mod. I've found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176753
But, the problem is that the cyonagen mod gave the phone 4.1.2. If I use these files to flash back to stock: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=27 , they are all 2.x.x.
What I'm worried is that this is downgrading the phone so will I brick the phone if i flash it using those files?
Also will flashing back to stock automatically remove Cyanogen mod?
Thanks.
Bump.....
No problems there. You can downgrade from 4.1 to 2.2. But, if you flash the 2.3.6 Defy+ SBF or any BL7 SBF, it won't be possible to downgrade to 2.2. Basically once you go a higher official Motorola android version (upto 2.3.6, which is official), you can't downgrade to a lower version.
