[Q] Motorola Defy - how to remove cyanogen mod? - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently I've wanted to remove cyanogen mod. I've found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176753
But, the problem is that the cyonagen mod gave the phone 4.1.2. If I use these files to flash back to stock: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=27 , they are all 2.x.x.
What I'm worried is that this is downgrading the phone so will I brick the phone if i flash it using those files?
Also will flashing back to stock automatically remove Cyanogen mod?
Thanks.

Bump.....

No problems there. You can downgrade from 4.1 to 2.2. But, if you flash the 2.3.6 Defy+ SBF or any BL7 SBF, it won't be possible to downgrade to 2.2. Basically once you go a higher official Motorola android version (upto 2.3.6, which is official), you can't downgrade to a lower version.

[Help] Need and I9020A GRJ22 fully stock Nandroid

I'm trying to update my phone from 2.3.4 --> 2.3.6 but I have modified my kernel so I get "status 7" when updating in CWM. I don't have a nandroid from before I changed the kernel in my phone so I was wondering if anyone had one.
I have a telus Nexus S so it's an I9020A so I believe that I need GRJ22.
Or is there any other method I can use?
edit: thanks it works.
trying to delete my post but i cant?
flash the zip from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033269
update to 2.3.4 and then to 2.3.6. you might have to do manual updates

[Q] Motorola Defy plus (+) Many questions.

I noticed that the focus here is more on the Motorola Defy than Defy Plus (+). I need some help with a defy + that was purchased for my mother.
It is currently running on Stock 2.3.4 (build: 4.5.1-134_DFP-891 , Ver: 45.0.891.MB526.Asiaretail.en.03) Rooted.
However, they prompted me to update my firmware to Ver: 45.0.1321.en.03 recently.
Wondering if i were to update, will i lose root?
I rooted Defy+ with superoneclick 2.3.3.
Also, any good Custom roms to recommend for Defy +?
Will the procedures be the same as Flashing a Custom rom on HTC Sensation?
Where CWM or 4ext can be flashed to boot into as recovery and flashing firmware?
Thanks a million in advance for the help..
first of all, read this.
If you upgrade, you will lose your root, but as far as i know, the 2.3.6 can be rooted too with the latest superoneclick.
the best custom rom is definitely cyanogenmod (cm7), which can be used with 2.3.6, just install 2ndinit for defy, and there you go!
im not familiar with the flashing process of htc sensation, so i cant help you with that. flashing a full stock rom can be done with motos program rsd lite, while flashing a custom rom is done via cwm.

[Q] Do i need to flash new sbf to install wiui from stock?

Hey guys,
I have a red lens defy, completely stock.
Its running android version 2.2.2 and the kernel is 2.6.32.9
(I'm from New Zealand)
I was thinking of flashing wiui and it all makes sense to me except the part in the instructions that says:
-1. Flash 2.2 CEE ROM or Nordic
Does this mean I need to flash I different sbf? or does it not matter?
Many thanks, and apologies if this has already been blatantly answered.
Respect.
anybody have an idea? I dont wanna do it wrong haaha.
Not necessary. Your stock 2.2.2 should work with wiui without problem, so try and if you have problem then just flash the Nordic one.
Awesome, many thanks
Have a great day.

That's not a Milestone 2 ROM, it's for a Droid 2, you must use the CM9 on MS2 Dev forum, not the one from the CyanogenMod page
Check this thread, it might be useful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1758271

[MB526] [BL7] [DFP231] [AsiaRetail] Weak GPS signal with rooted sbf and custom roms..

Hi,
Recently i got motorola defy plus from my friend which has AsiaRetail version out of the box.
It is BL7 and DFP231 and has android 2.3.6.
It works fine with this AsiaRetail stock rom.
I tried to root and flash custom rom.
The only procedure i have seen is flashing two sbf, the second one being already rooted, but not AsiaRetail.
So, i flashed both the sbfs and installed sndinit and flashed custom roms cm7, 9, 10.1, 11.
All of the custom roms along with this rooted sbf rom had WEAK GPS SIGNAL . the number of satellites will not go beyond 0/2 and fine position lock never happens with gps alone.
Have you faced this issue. What is the solution...?
I think it is due to baseband / driver issues. How can i use AsiaRetail baseband with this rom?
