rooted htc desire 816 dual sim, but still didn't get 8 gb internal. its frustrating.... any suggestion ....... how to get back 8 gb internal
The 8 gig internal storage is shared with system.... So you will nevet get 8 . Try with link2sd and microSD card

Rooting doesnt provides empty system memory!
I warn you do not delete any files in system folder unless you know what it does.
You will end up bricking your device
Google everything before making changes with device in root folders.

What ROM do you have?
Are you saying that you can't restart your device when the SD card if not mounted?
Check if you have some app installed in the sd card... I had this problem and it happened because the launcher, the setcpu and the swagger were installed in my sd, i moved into the internal memory, and now it works perfectly.
CheckIt
^^ my thoughts exactly^^

try this:
try to increase the read-ahead cache with this "SD-Booster" (requires root). 1024 or 2048 is a good value

The first point is you must root your phone to use apps to SD. For this you also need to upgrade your OS to 2.2 or 2.3.
If you dont need to upgrade just root and install LINK 2SD. With help of this app you can easily move installed apps to SD card. This system also runs on 2.2 and 2.3. With this application moving gives better result. Means you will be able to free up maximum possible space on your phone memory. Link2SD is available on market.
ok, my phone is rooted and upgraded to gingerbread, now i have only to install linktosd?
because i had talked about a script....
thanks everyone for the help
see this thread, you need to create a few partitions on your sd card to do so, not hard,

No need. 500 to 700MB should be sufficuent. Obviously depend on how many and how heavy app you want toinstall.
Only 512 mb ext2/3 (primary) and xxx mb/gb fat32 (primary).
And everything will be ok.

Hey guys i recently formated my SD card and OMG!
So Basically i launched up MC4 and saw a MASSIVE, I Mean MASSIVE like 20 Seconds less time to load it up, So if u want this perfromance just follow, :3
1. Download Mini Tool Partition Wizard
2. Either Connect Device with SD Card into PC in Recovary or Put SD Card into PC
3. launch MTPW (Mini Tool Partition Wizard)
4. Backup All SD Data (Cut to PC)
5. Wipe Whole SD Card
6. Format in a Fat-32 Format
7. Disconnect SD Card and Leave for like 10 Mins
8. Connect SD Card
9. Copy Old Files
10. Enjoy Super Speedy Device + SD
Also a Little tip i recommend starting Fresh with this, eg what i did was flash a stock debloated STRAIGHT After and i felt fresh?? weird right, but its even better
:3 Enjoy!
completely agree with you, I once a month (or sometimes every two weeks) formatting my SD (after making a backup of course) and back to create the ext3 partition again, and then to reinstall the rom (Stock Clean) feels soft as butter ..
Yes!, I already clean my dalvik cache + del unneccesary files but from now on I want to format my play every 3 months! (weird right?, but it keeps it buttery!)

There is also an app called sd maid. It will clean your sdcard without having to move everything off. It more of just looks for dead files and files linked to games/apps not installed and deletes them.
Market link

I use this every few months. Reboot the phone and away you go

I used this app 1 time, but i ran everything (mostly) and it detected my cwm backups and thought they were dupes so they were all deleted exept the newest one -_-, guess it was my fault, but i use something for my internals, its called root cleaner, but its paid, but worth it!, i run that like evey week or so... along with the supercharger superclean script!
Isn't going to slow down after some time?

hello
I know that this topic was raised thousands of times but I still I can not do anything about it.
For example, wants to play need for speed most wanted but LG L5 is not enough space to install it or give me someone a proven way to substitution on the internal memory of the outer or something? I have a little over 1GB free after removing everything and there is a need 2gb help! Top thanks for the help
If you are running stock, you cant really do anything... if CM10/10.1/11 try this:
settings > memory settings > "function" soft key > ??memory management?? (cant tell - Im running sdmerge) >swap internal with external memory or smthing similiar then reboot, it should result in INTERNAL memory size of ur SD and external of 1gb

i am using galaxy note 8.0 (n5120) and install cm 11 with limited apps. Previously the internal space available is approx 4GB. One day, the machine warned me only with 1 GB remained. Can anybody tell me how to find out which apps used many internal storage. any apps can tell me?

Finally, by reference to some posts, i found a directory "\data\lost+found" which occupied about 8gb found with over 16,xxx files. after i delete these folders and release about the storage, everthing gets fine.
But one question is in what ways these folders created?
