Hello friend, whenever you plug your device in USB port or a less powerful charger, it will show as slow charging. Use a 1.8A, 2.0A or more output charger to charge your phone.

Kitkat 4.4.2 no problem 1610 mah
Just lollipop problem
Hi,
I have the exact same problem. I recently upgraded my LG G2 (EU version - Dutch) from KitKat to Lollipop (5.0.2).
My car charger and wall charger (both 2.1A) were able to charge my G2 in a fast way under KitKat.
But now under Lollipop, these chargers have become useless (they charge very very slow).
My battery is draining while using GPS and media streaming in my car with car charger attached (whereas with KitKat everything worked fine, and my battery gained extra power...)
Only the official LG OEM charger can charge my phone fast.
How can I fix this? Somehow LG verifies if the official charger is attached, and otherwise he limits the charging?
I hope you guys can help me out?
Thx in advance!
Possibly a temperature issue

Few days ago i was exactly in your shoes. I came from a custom rom (cloudy g2 2.2 with dorimanx kernel ) to the stock lollipop 5.0.2 . While being on the lollipop rom the device could not hold a charging rate above the 350-400 mah. Through some testing i found out that device needs to be below a certain temperature (for me at least, it was around 60 degrees celsius ) in order to charge at a 1600 mah rate.
I have tested some stuff during the weekend, but in my case, it isn’t temperature related. Even when the battery temp is low, the 2.1A charger still charfes very slow, while the OEM chargers goes full speed. So battery temp doesn’t affect my charging speeds.
Even during the hot summer days, my car charger was able to charge quickly while using KitKat.

Nothing that was posted on this thread is correct, lg's lollipop kernel is horrible and only slow charges. Thats why Dorimanx when build his kernel had to add a feature that allows fast charging.

I read somewhere that from the lollipop version of android and onwards , a certain " code " has been implemented in the stock kernel (and as result every stock based kernel out there) , that checks whether or not the original charger is being used or not. Might be false, might be true ? who knows? i only have the original charge so i cannot test it out. On the other hand, many custom kernel developers including Dorimanx as @Eminemiero says do actually have a workaround implemented on their kernels to give the possibility to achieve full charging rate even on 3rd party chargers

same issue.
try dorimanx latest kernel. If you are not a fan of custom kernels, then just install it and dont touch nothing on its settings
Try Llama sweet kernel.
Install synapse from play store.
Install UKM zip from recovery . find in main kernel thread.
Open synapse go to misc . enable fast charge . set it to 1200 Mah . you are done
Don't forget to nandroid backup before.
I'm a n00b when it comes to flashing custom roms, custom kernels etc (never did it before).
What is the easiest way for me to achieve the fast charging back on my LG G2 device with the other chargers?
Maybe some step by step instructions?
Can you use an alternative kernel on the original LG stock rom? I'm happy with the stock rom, except for the charging issue i'm facing...
many thanks!!

I have the D802 16gb running kit Kat 20F and can't get it to fast charge even with stock LG charger and cable.
Have also tried using a Sony power bank that delivers 2A charge coupled with a short 3" Sony usb cable.
Measuring charge rate using battery monitor widget and hidden menu.
Any ideas?
My wife's G2 32gb charges fine with the same charging hardware. Hers however is an Australian model.
I have tried flashing. 3 variants of kit Kat without luck.

i've the same problem.. new phone of my girlfriend, and it take 7 hours for full recharge.. i don't know now what's the problem.. maybe kernel?
Does flashing the kdz not also flash the kernel?
I've also tried factory reset too and no luck.
Might try going back to jelly bean
Hi Guys, ive been part of the HTC One X scene and now i am getting an s4, question is i hate Touchwiz with a passion!! so i want to use an AOSP rom, my question is what is the easiest one to use and are modded kernals a good idea with this phone? regards,
I use Danvdh's GPE ROM. It basically converts your existing S4 into a Google Play Edition S4, but with some subtle enhancements. Being a GPE ROM, it also has the advantage of using Samsung libraries for its hardware, which makes it run more smoothly than the AOSP alternatives that use reverse engineered drivers.
I had been leaning to that Rom, what about kernels any that actually make a noticeable difference? I keep seeing fast charge pop up ?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Free mobile app
Use the Googy Max kernel that's included, or use the more up-to-date Hulk kernel variant of Googy Max. Alucard's kernel reportedly has a battery drain issue and the stock kernel introduces random reboots. As for fast charging, I've not gone through every post in that thread so if there is a fast charge option I'm not aware of it.
Is there any idiots guide to do it? Lok
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Free mobile app
An idiot's guide to install the ROM? Root, install a custom recovery (TWRP recommended here), and install the ROM through recovery. The various kernels and ROM options are all in the zip, as it uses Aroma installer.
Easiest way to root? Still on kitkat if that makes a difference
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Free mobile app
CF-Autoroot. There should be a thread for it in S4 General.
I actually find the CM12 optimzed builds to be a bit snappier than GPE. But GPE is more stable and bug free. I had several problems with the latest CM12 builds.
You can always change roms afterwards. But I keep coming back to GPE The only downside is that there is no ktoonsez kernel for GPE 5.0.
It's an awesome kernel and the only one, that I know of, to offer GPU Overclocking.
Alucard and Googy-Max kernels are great too.
Fast charge is designed for USB. The USB current is lower than the AC current. This means that the phone takes a lot longer to charge via USB.
Fast charge substitutes AC to USB. Meaning that it will charge via USB with the same current as AC.
I was thinking of the rapid charging devices like the Nexus 6 have, where you get 50% power in roughly a half hour. Glad someone around here can keep me straight.

Well, it was mainly done to increase charging speed via USB, I think.
But you can also increase the current on AC charger. Which means it charges faster, similar to what you said.
I don't know what the default is on touchwiz stock kernel, but Googy set it at 1450 mAh for AC.
Alucard kernel comes with 1900 mAh for AC. Which means it charges relatively faster. Look at it as "Overclocking" your charger
But it may also reduce the battery's life.
Googy and Hulk allow you to set the AC and USB voltages, so I left USB alone but set AC to 1900. Its unlikely that battery life will be adversely affected by ramping up the amperage of the charging circuit, unless the battery gets exceptionally hot (it doesn't) in the process. The stock charger won't be damaged by doing this as the charger is rated for 2A in the first place. Third party chargers, as long as they're rated for 2A, won't be damaged. Smaller chargers will eventually fry.
I leave it at 1450. I'm in no hurry. Especially when I'm gaming
hello!!
i recently bought lg g2 D802 16gb n upgraded it to lollipop 5.0.2(v30d-vdf-com) but i m having problem with the battery life ..my father got lg g2 (vs980) and it gives around 6 hours of screen on time (running on jelly beans) but my g2 gives less than 4 n a half hour SOT ..plus it takes 2.30 hours to charge fully even more sometimes...lollipop was supposed to improve these things but its quite disappointing :/ is there anything i can do to make it back on track except factory resting
is there any chance the battery could be fake or not working properly?
any help would be appreciated thanks

so did u find any solution yet?
I have the same pb too..
It's anormal!
To be at 100% => 7 hours of charging.. AMAZING xD
I didn't find any solutions...
I hope dorimanx make a new kernel
With the application AMPERE I'm at 150 mA max.. i change the cable but doesn't work anymore..
Please, help us.
Couple questions:
1. Did you guys buy your phones new or refurbished/used?
2. How did the battery work on Kit Kat or JB?
Based on these 2 questions we'll know if the battery has been replaced with a fake or if the battery is old and needs to be replaced.
Good thing is the battery is inexpensive (10-15.00) and is easy to replace for a novice/beginner
Are you using original cable and original charger? My G2 used to charge slow on Lollipop too, but I wasnt using original cable. But on the other hand, with same cable it was charging good on KitKat, lol.
With original charger and cable it charge as fast as on KitKat.
It's my own G2. Was a new when I bought it.
And I use all the charger and cable from LG..
Mine is same with everything original.
So ? Any solutions ?
I had the same issue.
Do a total wipe including a dalvik cache . Now i have 5+hrs screen on
All the wipes ?
Internal storage too ?
Because I change the rom nothing is better!
And to recharge my G2 is 9hours... xD
I have had the same charging problem with my LG G2 D802 16gb phone from Hong Kong.
I bought it brand new and it always took around 7 hours or so to charge. When checking the charge rate via the system menu or 3rd party apps, it's always charging below 500mAH instead of the max 1600mAH it should charge at (when the phone is switched on).
Even changing ROMS or changing cables/chargers has not fixed the problem. I suspect some phones are just 'faulty' and do not charge quickly.
My wife has the D802T edition (from Australia) and that charges fine.
Unfortunately i dont have a solution to your problem but i can confirm that the problem persists throughout:
* kitkat, jellybean, lollipop
* stock cable/charger
* aftermarket 2A charger
* aftermarket copper core high quality USB cable
* 2A powerbank charging
* switching phone on or off (still charges at same/similar rate)
oh this might be unrelated, but my LG G2 is the RED one... which i think is somewhat rare compared to the black or white colours...
Maybe, but before I was on speed charge.. Strange

So.. my s4 with CM12.1 SABERMOD(oct 15) has low charging current, 760 Ma.
My question is: Can i change it the charging voltage, if the kernel doens't support STweaks to change it from battery AC Charge current setting, like i do from others roms ?
asking in particular @Synergy510

You can change charging voltage but it must be an kernel that's supports changing Voltage for example: alcurd kernel, hulk kernel(an brand new kernel),etc.

Afaik, I didn't include it in my kernel. Was the current always low like this? And have you experienced higher currents on my ROM before? You should also try different combinations of chargers and USB cables to make sure either of those aren't bad.

Sounds like your charger is duff. Too many fakes on eBay I found. Get them from Amazon, fulfilled by Amazon. Also need a decent cable, they can be rubbish on eBay too. I went to JuicEBitz for mine.
Also check phone status, make sure it states AC and not USB
I also think it's the charger.

Real story: i was running prev version of saber (SaberModCM12.1-20151005) + Fly on mode and i had about 1000Ma, then i suggested my friend also with same phone to install saber(SaberModCM12.1-20151015) without Fly on mode, and he had 700Ma, after cause i had some lag cause of Fly on mode, and because i wanted to up my rom to lasted version i installed it (SaberModCM12.1-20151024-jflte-ecb6003d89-GCC4.9) and i had 700Ma too
I also tried another charger, and another outlet, same...
It's somehow annoying because the phone is charging slow, too slow, when i'm using it sometimes it just didn't charge it's go lower ...
I recently lost the original charger and I bought generic aftermarket 2 in 1 as you can see the rate is significantly slower. How to charge at full speed like with 1.7A original AL charger? Any root kernel hacks?
Thanks.
Maybe it's a crappy charger. Have you also tried different cables?
With stock 5.0.2 and dorimanx kernel I managed to get close to 2.0A while charging. Maybe you should try that option out.
Good luck!

It happened with all chargers, I even tried with legit Sammy tab charger which is back in the days when their device only accept 2.1A current to charge. still now going up. Also with power banks and such.
I tried force speed charge from dorimanx, it only works with 1.0A not with 2.1A.
