Wondering if anyone notice how slow it charges when it is connected to thru PC using USB (using original USB cable)?
I know it was not charging very fast when it was on 4.2.2, but 4.3 it is really slooooooooow...My N7 is pure stock 4.3 and so does its kernel.

placebo?
were you using usb fastcharge on 4.2.2?
Unfortunately I am having similar problem with my nexus 7 after OTA 4.3; it charges so slow even though I plug charger in and try to use it while its chaging, device turns itself off saying please charge battery. How can it turn off when its already on the charger?

Has anybody heard of a kernel that fixes this? I love everything about 4.3 except that it charges sooooooo sloooooowwww!
I plugged mine in 5hrs ago @ 30% and it is up to 85% now... Ridiculous! This is using the original Asus charger.
Connected through PC only gives you about .5 amp charging rate. The stock charger gives 2 amps. If you aren't using the factory USB cable then most likely it is current limited and not applying full power while charging. If you are using the complete factory setup then whatever you are doing is causing the battery to drain faster than even a 2 amp charger can supply.
Sent from my Nexus 7(2012) that has zero issues.
I love my G2 and have been running it stock unrooted for almost a week now but I'm confused about the charging speed. I have two LG phones, the G2 d800 and Optimus G Pro e980. My G Pro is rooted running a custom 4.3 Rom.
My issue is when I plug the G2 to my computer using the stock cable it came with from the store it immediately goes to slow charging mode. It'll take hours and hours to charge up from about 50%. With the same exact cable setup when I plug my G Pro it only takes about a hour and a half to charge to 100% and that's from about 15 - 20%. This makes me think it has nothing to do with the cable I'm using. It's plugged directly to a USB 3.0 port in the back of my computer. If I use the wall charger with the same cable the G2 charges just fine. idk.
My G Pro used to have this issue but after going custom roms it never had that problem again... it always charges crazy fast now. I don't really want to install custom on my G2 right now I'm actually enjoying the stock experience again I was missing it with my G Pro.
Anyone else have this issue?
It has everything to do with cable, and kernel/binaries. USB 3 and steady voltage requires a thicker power AWG. The kernel and or binaries limit it to slow charge per voltage for safety and stability. The phone states it's USB 3 capable, but I assume only on the power side, as the 5 pins on the phone isn't enough to handle the full data speeds of USB 3, it requires 9. If you look inside the port though, on the phone, there looks to be extra pins.... maybe LG plans to release a special USB 3 cable? Just speculation. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460881
I noticed that when stock, or using stock-based ROM's it goes into slow charging mode if you use anything other than the stock LG charger and cable. When I install CM10-11 it charges fast on all cables.
It does not. Use a mA reader. The notification is just simply removed.
hmmmm now I'm wondering if the battery level my G Pro is showing me is accurate or what.. the G2 battery lasts considerably longer than the G Pro when both say they're fully charged. I'll try new cables and maybe finally get a second battery for my G Pro and see if it still charges as fast as it's saying. Thanks for the replies guys. :good:
They are both charging at the same rate. The G2 just has a higher capacity. The notification seems to pop at 1A or lower. You're gonna need a high quality 24 AWG or lower cable to draw high amperage from the phone. I posted a working one from newegg. The stock G2 cable will also fast charge it from the USB 3 port (if the port is configured correctly with good drivers for charging switch). The problem is voltage droop in combo with this phones kernel or binaries. There isn't much getting around it on the USB port. A quality cable will counteract this with less droop on the bottom end.
Has anyone managed to fast charge their LG G2 when using a slimport for HDMI out? I am using a confirmed fast charge USB cable, but it still slow charges when used with the slimport Analogix SP1003. I am thinking it's either my ROM (Stock 10a), or the slimport just won't allow fast charging on the LG G2?

Have the same one. It will not fast charge. The slimport was not built to accompany fast charge as far as I can tell. Even with the stock g2 charger and cable. Be careful tho. The slimport can and will cause your stock cable usb connector to go wonky the more you use it. Ive replaced mine once already and the second one is going after a month. Use a throw away usb charging cable to plug the slimport in. Just advice, so take it as you will.
Update - Fast Charge now working.
I can confirm that the LG G2 will now fast charge via the slimport with Dorimanx kernel 3.0. Link to the thread is http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2614400. I tested this earlier and it was charging at over 900mA at times. Charge was increasing by 1% every few minutes.

Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2614400. There is also now a separate thread for KitKat I believe.
slimport to hdmi
can you recommend a good slimport adaptor please
Thanks
Hi Guys,
I've updated my T-mobile G2 to 5.0 and its facing slow charge when charging with none LG chargers, I know that it's one of lollipops features to check the usb cable connected and based upon that determine the charging power, so far i'm charging at around 700 MAH so it takes like 5 hours to charge, anyway, my LG is rooted yet with stock bootloader and i was wondering if there is a fix I can flash via fastboot that will remove that check and let the phone charge at full speed no matter the cable.
PS know that when using CM12 even when not using LG cables the phone charges at 1600 MAH.
Hi friends
My device
there is the problem of slow charging
The current value 304-500maH
I tried all versions. V30a,V30b,v30c,v30d,v30e,v30f all the same problem
All transactions did. Wipe data factory and wipe cache :/
Thanks...

Hello friend, whenever you plug your device in USB port or a less powerful charger, it will show as slow charging. Use a 1.8A, 2.0A or more output charger to charge your phone.

Kitkat 4.4.2 no problem 1610 mah
Just lollipop problem
Hi,
I have the exact same problem. I recently upgraded my LG G2 (EU version - Dutch) from KitKat to Lollipop (5.0.2).
My car charger and wall charger (both 2.1A) were able to charge my G2 in a fast way under KitKat.
But now under Lollipop, these chargers have become useless (they charge very very slow).
My battery is draining while using GPS and media streaming in my car with car charger attached (whereas with KitKat everything worked fine, and my battery gained extra power...)
Only the official LG OEM charger can charge my phone fast.
How can I fix this? Somehow LG verifies if the official charger is attached, and otherwise he limits the charging?
I hope you guys can help me out?
Thx in advance!
Possibly a temperature issue

Few days ago i was exactly in your shoes. I came from a custom rom (cloudy g2 2.2 with dorimanx kernel ) to the stock lollipop 5.0.2 . While being on the lollipop rom the device could not hold a charging rate above the 350-400 mah. Through some testing i found out that device needs to be below a certain temperature (for me at least, it was around 60 degrees celsius ) in order to charge at a 1600 mah rate.
I have tested some stuff during the weekend, but in my case, it isn’t temperature related. Even when the battery temp is low, the 2.1A charger still charfes very slow, while the OEM chargers goes full speed. So battery temp doesn’t affect my charging speeds.
Even during the hot summer days, my car charger was able to charge quickly while using KitKat.

Nothing that was posted on this thread is correct, lg's lollipop kernel is horrible and only slow charges. Thats why Dorimanx when build his kernel had to add a feature that allows fast charging.

I read somewhere that from the lollipop version of android and onwards , a certain " code " has been implemented in the stock kernel (and as result every stock based kernel out there) , that checks whether or not the original charger is being used or not. Might be false, might be true ? who knows? i only have the original charge so i cannot test it out. On the other hand, many custom kernel developers including Dorimanx as @Eminemiero says do actually have a workaround implemented on their kernels to give the possibility to achieve full charging rate even on 3rd party chargers

I do have the original charger but only on stock 30b i think it was i could fast charge. In any other rom i had to wait hours to get full charged.
Its strange, all i know is that lg ****ed it

same issue.
try dorimanx latest kernel. If you are not a fan of custom kernels, then just install it and dont touch nothing on its settings
Try Llama sweet kernel.
Install synapse from play store.
Install UKM zip from recovery . find in main kernel thread.
Open synapse go to misc . enable fast charge . set it to 1200 Mah . you are done
Don't forget to nandroid backup before.
I'm a n00b when it comes to flashing custom roms, custom kernels etc (never did it before).
What is the easiest way for me to achieve the fast charging back on my LG G2 device with the other chargers?
Maybe some step by step instructions?
Can you use an alternative kernel on the original LG stock rom? I'm happy with the stock rom, except for the charging issue i'm facing...
many thanks!!
