Hello,
since I have update my note 4 to lillipop 5.1.1, I am expiriencing a bug. When I'm typing SMS my phone freezes for a few seconds, then flashes to the desktop (without any icons or toolbar on it), goes to black screen and then back to SMS like nothing happend. I wonder is this just me?
Is it even related to the update, or is it anything else?
Best regards,
bukovnik

Not a bug.
Ether you got a bad rom or just a bad flash. I am running 5.1.1 and its more stable and smooth then any of it's previous builds so just try and reflash or find another 5.1.1 rom.
5.1.1 rom is by far the best in my opinion.

How did you update your Note 4? I never use OTA because it will cause many problems, mostly lag, battery drain... Download firmware from sammobile and flash through odin, everything is different. If you are experienced on cooked róm, try some on Note 4 development topic

I have started seeing the following issues in my S4 GTi9500 (India firmware - I9500XXUHOC1) :
1. Long press Home button to access recent app cards has become too slow to repond when there are lot of app cards in there. [I have S voice disabled]. It is comparatively faster when there are maximum 3 or 4 recent app cards.
2. Scrolling through the recent app cards is too laggy and jittery like a video game running at only 10 fps.
phone has all the updates installed. Also the latest incremental update that was release a few days ago.I thought it would fix the issue but it did not.
What i have already tried :
1. Cache clear.
2. Factory reset.
3. clearing some phone storage.
NONE of this helped
Questions:
1. Are any of you also facing this issue on GTI9500? I have checked a nexus 5 and on it the recent app cards work flawlessly.
2 I have only updated using OTA. Would it help if I download the firmware from Sammobile and then use Odin to flash it again( I tried this for kitkat once, at that time was facing some issue with lock screen but it did not help.). So can flashing using Odin get rid of the issues?
3. I am pretty tired of samsung's updates so is there any stable CM lollipop available for GTI9500 exynos version? If npot is there any stable Kitkat build availabe? Please post the links if yes.
ANY solution to this problem would be appreciated. Tired of Samsung updates
it 's a known bug maybe in next update this issue will be solved
I've got the same issue on my i9505. So it's a common problem, I hope they will solve it soon

Is there any update released yet that solves this? My phone is rooted and voided so i cannot check the updates.
I have lag too in my i9500 and its too much in 3 apps runing
I noticed that lag lesser in aurora s6 port rom
hi, I have an i9505 which I recently restored to stock (I previously had cm12.1). I flashed germany 4.4.2 kitkat and it worked fine.
I did all the updates using OTA, which at the end updates the phone to 5.0.1. Now I have the latest version (XXUHOH2), but I noticed that the back button doesn't work anymore, it doesn't even light up when I press it. The menu button works fine instead. I factory restored the phone through official recovery but it didn't change anything. Is it possible that the back button suddenly stopped working after I updated to the latest version because of an hardware failure, or is it a software problem? The phone hasn't dropped off the table once, and even with the first lollipop update the button worked.
i solved this issue by installing another firmware (XYHOE1)... it seems that my phone doesn't like the german one
Hi. I am having the same issue. I got the OTA update today and 5.0.1 was successfully installed on my phone. However, after the reboot, the back button stopped working and wont even light up. Is there any workaround aside from installing that firmware that you mentioned?
Will surely appreciate your response.
I haven't found a workaround, i tried both normal and black edition OH2 but the issue remains the same... however I flashed a custom firmware (and thus keeping OH2 bootloader and modems) and it works perfectly... so I think it's a bug found in OH2 firmwares which happens in some phones... flashing previous version of any firmware should fix the issue.

Can you give us a link for that firmware? I can't find that firmware anywhere. Thanks!
The latest firmware official for Gt-i9505 Germany (DBT) is this ONE.

Please help me. I'm experiencing the same issue. I updated my phone to OH2 and after it finished updating, my back and menu button stopped functioning. Then received another update (OJ2) via Kies3, hoping that it will solve the issue I encountered in OH2 but nothing has changed. And now I downgraded my phone to a previous version of Lollipop (OC6) and it still not working.
Before updating my phone, I know and I'm sure my back and menu buttons are working fine that moment and like you, I haven't dropped my phone since I bought it so I'm sure this isn't a hardware problem. :crying::crying: Please help me. A big THANKS! :good:

Same problem for me. i tried even a Pit reflesh and dowgrade.
Same thing happened to me. I did the upgrade today, 24th Nov 2015, to Android 5.0.1 - Baseband versionXXUHOJ2 and my menu and back keys are gone. Very infuriating! Will Samsung fix this, or do I have to spend hours of my own time?
I have found a workaround, not ideal but helps short term. Go to Settings > My Device >Accessibility >Dexterity and interaction. Then switch on the Assistant menu. That gives you a little pop up square - available all the time - with 12 buttons including BACK and MENU.
I'm having the same issue. I came back to Kit kat coz I'm tired of Lollipop :silly:
same prb with me...i just updated my s4 to 5.0.1 everything is working fine but the back n menu keys are not working plz give me a solution to this problem

Any updates or solutions as yet please?
I had a perfectly working Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505), then after a recent update was pushed out, the softkeys now do not function. Soooo frustrating...... my confidence in Samsungs' Updates are now dented, I shall seriously think twice about allowing any updates through.
My 3A was running perfect when update A310FXXU2APDC came out. After updating I have sometimes problem with touchscreen. Sometimes i must press something twice or more to get it to work. No matter keyboard or icon or else. Do anyone encountered this problem before? Before touchscreen was super responsive. Will hard reset help?

Same problem here, screen unsensitive and looks "crazy" often after unlock, looks related to the same software update. Hard reset didn't help for me. Any news for you?
Nope. Hard reset didn't help. No option to downgrade through Odin. I think that we must wait for next firmware update. Probably few months. I will write message to Samsung about this problem. Please do the same so they will know that there's an issue with firmware.
Hey guys, I have an A9 and had the same problem. I could barely navigate through the phone as touchscreen was non- responsive. I resolved the issue by upgrading to newer software release. I now have no problem.
You can downgrade to older version that was working via Odin. Get the required file from sammobile. If you are running 5.1 just make sure that OEM Unlock is allowed {developer option in settings}.
A new software update is out, it is called "A310FXXU2APE1".
I can't flash it until this week-end but I hope it is the good one !

Thank you very much, this fixes the touchscreen lag
Thx to harris210793...
Thats work properly on my galaxy a3 2016...
Try *#2663#...and all my touch problem has fixed...
I had this problem for a few days, unresponsive touch, i couldnt write a single word without errors... and also my phone wouldnt recognize codes like *#2663* etc.,
I upgraded to a higher number firmware from sammobile/androidfilehost A3 2016 from A310FXXU3 to A310FXXU4( i found firmware for my country and flashed it with Odin 3.10.) and it fixed the touch and i could also enter codes and manage those subprograms with ease.
I've recently taken the OTA Android 6.0.1 update. Since then I can no longer get "Preview message on notification bar" working on the stock Messages app. This is the case on my handset, my partners, and my brothers. I've tried a factory reset, and I've tried reflashing the rom via Odin.
Can anyone running stock Rom check if this is working for you? Samsung don't want to acknowledge a problem. Am I going mad or is anyone else suffering from this bug? Thanks! Specifically asking about the International S5 (SM-G900F).
I have read some reports about bad battery life with Lollipop. Is this true?
KitKat has nicer system UI regarding the use of E-ink screen because KitKat menus, settings etc. use darker backgrounds than Lollipop. That looks better on E-ink on black YotaPhone 2.
What are your thoughts on KitKat vs Lollipop with YotaPhone 2?
I also read some reports about Wifi issues with Lollipop but maybe they were relating to wrong radio being flashed, I don't know.

Your post just crossed mine (http://forum.xda-developers.com/yotaphone-one/general/battery-life-ru-134-firmware-using-app-t3490355) but for me battery life on Lollipop is great and I have no WiFi issues. The latest RU firmware also has the september 2016 security update. For me it is Lollipop all the way.
Where did you download the latest RU firmware?
In here:
ftp://fw.ydevices.com/YotaPhone2/Firmwares/RU/
The latest is 5.0.0-RU1.1.124.zip
Where to find 134?

134 is indeed not yet up on the FTP site but if you flash your phone to the 124 version using YotaFlasher it will then update itself to 134 using OTA.

Both will work. Baseband is not a firmware thing.
Am going to downgrade from Marshmallow to Kitkat.
There are issues such as more battery drain than its supposed to be, phone overheats too much (never happened on kitkat before) and Marshmallow's white theme makes me sick as there is no option to change it to dark so it doesn't really fit in Yotaphone 2 unless you have white version which is pretty rare one. YotaStore apps arent compatibile with MM 6.0.1 so..
There are new things that are improved or added but still wont use it

I have used mine with Nova launcher which allows you to make dark theme. But I am still going to do the same for especially overheating problem. Indeed i've faced lots of problems with MM:
- Overheating on almost every situation including EPD reading/browsing/maps etc.
- if (esp. extreme) YotaEnergy is activated, Mobile Network is killed/blocked until restart the phone. Disabling YotaEnergy again doesn't solve the problem
- EPD screen lock insensibility randomly
- very restricted settings on MM
- etc.
Update1:
I have installed KK (4.4.3-S01-003-RU1.0.3.61a). Findings:
- battery seems a little bit ok compared MM
- overheating problem is same i think
- EPD screen resolution is awfull
- As known, all apps are outdated
- KK interface is also offensive compared with my old KitKat installed Optimus G Pro
So, i have to try Lollipop
Update2:
I have finally installed LP (5.0.0-RU1.1.134 ). It is ok:
- battery is optimum, there is no drain and stable
- no unexpected overheating, it is ok!
- EPD screen resolution is good
- I wish i could launch the color screen directly from EPD screen like on MM shortcut. For EPD, MM is better.
Unfortunately even after downgrading to kitkat then update to lollipop (RU or EU) I still get the overheating issues
Before upgrading to MM it was fine, but from that point it began to overheat and I can't get it to stay cool again.

You are right! After a few week trying, heating problem seems same. Because of that i have decreased CPU clock Frequency to 1267MHz+conservative. The heating problem decreases nearly fifty fifty.
