Redmi Note 2 (2GHz) vs. Redmi Note 2 PRIME (2,2GHz) - Redmi Note 2 General

i found this video of comparison of redmi note 2 and PRIME version. There is about 2000 difference in Antutu.
youtu.be/s3yzJUi4Gls

it is roughly 47000 vs 50000, but you won't notice the difference at all.

It's 200MHz faster, in other words 10% more.

I'm finding the 32GB of storage very useful

You can go down to 1430MHz and GPU to 400MHz = any game work fine. Like Ouzo sad, it's about the 32GB. With 128GB sd you got more than enough

@Klanac89
with which app have you make the 1430MHz/400Mhz settings ?

Bought the 2.2ghz/32gb variant
Hi guys, I bought the "prime" variant off of Chinese e-commerce site, JD.com, which is supposed to be one of the most reliable e-commerce platforms here (unlike taobao). The phone's About page and other places list the hardware that I expect to be there, but nowhere is the word "Prime" included in the model name. And also suspicious, the Model Number is listed simply as Redmi Note 2. These two things together begin to make me doubt this is the real deal, and not some equally priced knock off. All the Mi apps work, including xiaomi account creation and cloud storage and so on. Does anyone have a Redmi Note 2 they know is the prime variant and legitimate, who can confirm this is normal for the info in the About Phone page?
Thanks!

I've got a prime, mine doesn't say anything about it.

Prime version is not written under the phone name. Just check storage and processor (CPU) under the settings- about phone- and if you see 32 gb-2,2Ghz, you have prime version. If you don't bolive that just install antutu and check your hardware.

Using both the Redmi Note 2 and the Prime. What I would say is that 10% is different in processing power, feels the same. The good part is that you more storage for Prime topping up another 12 bucks or so, which is a bargain. Antutu result was almost the same for me or worst depending on the ROM installed.
Attached is my Antutu results. The Prime results on Geekbench 3 looks more impressive than Honor 7 results but not the on the Antutu.

thx for answer. for what version is this benchmark?

I bought Prime because it has 32GB ROM. That's a big help even with SD slot. But I would say from day to day usage perspective they are not much different in performance.

Any I am using Redmi Note 2 Prime, but will be doing the benchmark Redmi Note 3 next week. All the benchmark used is current and downloaded thru the playstore.

im still bugged with this question. so how big is fps difference in popular games between 6795 and 6795t. becouse 23fps is big difference to 30fps if it scale with 550 to 700.

A show down: Note 4 vs Note 10.1 vs GS5

So Ive had my Note 4 for a nice bit, but now its time to stack it up against its in house brothers. Ive got in my stock an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 and a Wifi only Note 10.1 2014.
Both are the newest in their segments from Samsung, both packing some pretty great hardware. Lets break down how they compare with a few benchmarks. The two of which I decided to use was 3D Mark and Vellamo.
First I want to go over a brief overview of the specs for the unfamiliar.
Note 10.1 -Wifi only
Screen: 10.1" WQXGA Clear LCD (2560 x 1600), 299 ppi
CPU: Exynos® 5 Octa (1.9GHz Quadcore + 1.3 GHz Quadcore)
GPU: ARM Mali T628MP6 (6 Core)
RAM: 3Gb
Memory: 16GB with 32Gb Class 10 Micro SD
Sprint Note 4
Screen: 5.7” Quad HD Super AMOLED (2560 x1440), 515 ppi
CPU: Snapdragon 805 Quadcore 2.7GHz
GPU: Adreno 420
RAM: 3Gb
Memory: 16Gb with 16Gb Class 10 Micro SD
Galaxy S5
Screen: 5.1” FHD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080), 432 ppi
CPU: Snapdragon 801 2.5 GHz
GPU: Adreno 330
RAM: 2Gb
Memory: 16Gb with Class 10 Micro SD
I would like to note that all of these devices are stock, used often, and not enhanced from their factory setting in any way.
LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!
3D Mark:
Note 10.1 This unit scored a number of 13513. I do want to make note that 3D mark has removed the device from caparisons as it was flagged for unfair modification to boost benchmark results. That being said, this turned out to be the runt of the litter despite the Octa-Core CPU in this benchmark.
Note 4 This device scored a whopping 20159 on this benchmark. With superior hardware to its brothers it bests even the iPhone 6 Plus which is scored at a modest 17843 and the iPhone 6 which is ranked even lower at 17307 on 3D Marks comparison charts.
Galaxy S5 This device ranked at a nice 18217. Besting both of Apples newest attempts and bumping along just short of Note 4.
Vellamo
This benchmark measures things a little differently, which I like. It has Browser benchmark, obviously for the borwser(For this I measured the stock Samsung browser and Chrome). It has Multicore which is exactly as it suggests, an advanced multicore benchmark. Lastly, it also has Metal, which measures maximum power of the device.
Note 10.1
Browser:
Samsung Browser: 3524
Chrome: 3214
The Note 10.1 seemed to really blaze along here, both results coming in with hot numbers ranking above HTC's M8.
Multicore The Device ranked a very nice 1570, it show up short of the G3 at 1711 and ahead of the nexus 5 at 1525.
Metal Once again, no disappointment. The device ranked in at 1374 beating out the Nexus 5 (1271) and coming in below the LG G3 (1497).
Galaxy S5
Browser:
Samsung Browser: 3278
Chrome: 2908
Bumping along a little slower than the Note 10.1, still scoring in with some nice results. This however was my daily driver for quite some time so cache and cookies may be hindering some performance here.
Multicore This device scoring a nice 1701, which is just ahead of Vellamo's score for the GS5 at 1647. Chugging along ahead of the Note 10.1 as with the 3D Mark, but not crushing it quite as bad. The Device ranks in just below the G3 as well, and has some significant distance ahead of the Nexus 5.
Metal Scoring an impressive 1518 this device is once again besting Vellamo's score for the GS5 at 1464. It tops everything on their comparison list except for the OnePlus One which ranks at 1653.
Note 4
Browser:
Samsung Browser: 3546
Chrome: 3377
Crushing the competition here, the Note 4 is the clear winner.
Multicore Dropping it like its hot at 1870, this bad boy is killing everything on their list.
Metal Going in for the finishing blow (Que mortal combat announcers "Finish Him") the Note 4 is sitting at staggering 1823. Surpassing the Galaxy S5 by over 300 points in this segment, and the top chart comparison the OnePlus One by 170 points.
With that out of the way, I do want to say benchmarks are not the end all be all. The devices are all great and id recommend all of them to anyone, but I figured this was interesting to see on a numbers game just how they matched up. I recommend reading up into the two benchmarks I used if your interested in testing things out for yourselves. I find them both interesting and they both seem to keep interest in accurate results. Hope you guys enjoyed this! Let me know what you think and feel free to share input you've found along the way!
.
Interesting, Chrome is slower on each device. I wish I actually liked the stock browser...
On a side note: is the Quadrant benchmark still a thing? Looks like it hasn't been updated since 2002
I'm torn between getting a Note 4 or the Tablet (Note 10.1). The screen seems to be so much better on the 4 with its almost double ppi. I just think the Tablet would be more useful for the S Pen. Man can't decide lol.

I had a choice of brand spankin new Note 5 or a mildy used Note 4 from swappa, Note 4 hands down, Its not as pretty as Note 5 but I always slap a case on my phone anyways. The 64 bit processor in Note 5 is awesome gd investment for future but the Note 4 being 32 bit will be supported till 2020 at least. Removable battery is always required for me, sd slot, ir blaster....I have this thing tweaked every which way...thanks to awesome devs on xda.

Lollipop brightens the screen and makes it clearer as well. Got both the T-Mobile Note 4 and Note 10.1 2014 and Lollipop looks amazing on my tablet, downloaded a beach picture from a website in 2560x1600, and it looks clear. Definitely use the tablet with the spen more than the spen in my phone

Thanks for the input. Ya pretty sure now that I'm going to use my money for a tablet not a phone. I just wish Samsung had or will have something to replace my Note 8.
what's a good benchmarking test aside from quadrant?

Redmi note 3 vs Redmi note 2

Looks like same SoC but 3GB RAM, fingerprint scanner, metal body and 4000mah battery. Seems like a worthy upgrade?
I think it will be. But i will wait for the reviews and the price of the chinese resellers
For now the redmi note 3 hasn't got any custom rom or translated rom...
I don't understand why xiaomi created a different rom for the redmi note 3.

Ordered one and gonna checkout, it is pricey now as compared to the advertised pricing, even though buying from a 3rd party store.
But I think redmi note 3 comes without sd card slot and also non removeable battery

Getting the Redmi Note 3 3GB/32GB thru the courier for 235usd this Friday. But, I understand there some software problem which will be rectified these few days before it is shipped. FYI, 2GB/16GB variant is going for 200usd in the black market, now.
Well not much price difference really. If you buy it from china Redmi Note 2 Prime is 1000 RMB and Redmi Note 3 is 1100 RMB

The pros are RAM, Touch ID, And battery. The cons are Removeable Battery, microsd slot and difference of 0,2 ghz per core.
In my opinion, I prefer Redmi Note 2 Prime for now, since for the battery problem with this phone I can just switch to the secondary battery that I bought.

It has no expandable memory, and the 32gb version is much more expensive than the redmi note 2 by now. For me 16gb is not enough for a daily usage. Wish they had decided to put it...

You'll pay extra for the fingerprint sensor. And the metal doesn't really look that much better. The battery is better but you can't switch it plus no sd port. I bought the RM2 because of the limitations of my Nexus 4, so for me this RM3 is a stepback.
The RM2 was 150€, the RM3 will cost around 200€. That's a bit too much, you can often get a brand flagship phones from 2014 for around 250€ or just get the Oneplus X, Oneplus One or Mi4c. This argument fails of course if the RM3 also gets a better screen, camera and so forth...
Its not worth in Europe. Some retailers are selling more then 60€ the original price point.
I would call an upgrade if it had Helio X20 (3gb wont boost performance) and same redmi note 2 roms

Help me to decide a nice phone note 3 or note 4???

Hey guys, now i'm using s3 i9300....i fed up with s3 due to battery life and shortage of ram ( I heavily debloated the stock rom...still no enough ram )... i want to buy a note device with stylus...i like both note 3 and note 4...I'm from India...so if I buy a note 4 l'll get snapdragon version (N910G) which would suffer badly in gaming performance:crying: ( yes I have seen lags in my friend's note 4 while Gaming )...I'm a heavy user ...I'm thinking of buying note 3 obviously Exynos version(N900) which is Indian Variant....so... Do you guys think It is wise to buy Note 3 in the end of 2015 (December)...I would like to use it for atleast 2 yrs....for me stylus pen is a must...Note 3 or Note 4 ??.....you can even suggest smartphones without s pen also??
Note 3 but not Exynos version .
Get the Note 4 man. Note 3 isn't worth it if you are planning to use a phone for 2 years. I would also get the variant which has better XDA support, if that's SD then SD, if Exynos then Exynos.

yep i can buy note 4 but i play some heavy games and some intense browsing, streaming but snapdragon version of note 4 (N910G- indian variant) lags heavily while playing intense games like asphalt 8 ,mc5, nova 3.....if there is no above issues in note 4...i would have bought it....these above issues made me to worry
note 3 exynos variant would not be better for gaming than snapdragon variant of note 4 in any case
adreno 420 in note 4 can manage about 3-5 fps extra than mali 628 even at quad hd resolution
Plus you would also benefit from faster internal storage and future updates
also adreno 420 can support many extra graphic features than mali 628 to say in simple words
I have used note 4 for gaming and there were no such issues in gaming
gaming in note 3 is good but there are many more options at this price range which are much better gaming opitons

firstly i cannot recommend note 3 for the simple fact that it would no longer receive any software support from samsung. Also raw multitasking(not multi window) like opening and switching between apps is very poor compared to nexus devices. Gaming is good but not great on note 3.I doubt it will be able to play new titles smoothly.
I am a hardcore mobile gamer and I can say that if you want a quad hd device that is good for gaming(good and consistent fps) then you should look at a good snapdragon 810 device , or exynos 7420. No other chipset will give you good gaming performance at quad hd.
other devices that you could look at would be oneplus 2, s6, nexus 5x,6p

Hi i had note 4.but i left note 5..because of. No memcard support battery is small cpu is low than mate 8..recarding the gpu.
I saw mate 8 gpu scores 20000 points in antutu 3d. Same as note 5 scores in antutu 6.0
What do u say
I came over from the Note 3 and it slaughters the Note 3 in performance. I am very happy purchasing the 128gb version from China. Only thing was setup took a little more effort.

cpu is fastest on the planet for mobiles, beating all apple cpus, snapdragons (including 820) and even the exynos 8890. the gpu though is basically mainstream, so if youre a hardcore mobile gamer then tmu should check this out further. its definitely fast enough for current games, especially at fullHD and it also doesnt throttle, a huge advantage to other SoCs that give u a few minutes of awesome performance and then throttle down to half speed

i would actually call it a tie, since the iphone only won due to faster boot up time. with the rest, the mate 8 was faster the difference there being a combination of software & hardware. the cpu itself is much faster in the mate 8, whereas apple has an advantage over any other android phone due to its ability to be able and design hardware and software all in one swoop.
