Hi everyone,
today I've found out that there is an open source android penetration testing platform for Nexus devices (more info here: https://www.kali.org/kali-linux-nethunter/) called "Kali Linux NetHunter". Here you can find the surce code: https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter
I was wondering if it is possible to port it to the Moto G 2014 keeping in mind that the Moto stock firmware is very similar to the Nexus one. If anyone has any ideas...
I also saw that project yesterday and thought about porting it... Maybe I can try to.

I've found this wiki: https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter/wiki
It explains the most important steps. It doesn't seem so easy, the most of the job will be having a fully-working kernel.
@luke! Thanks, I'll have a look.
anyone ready to test it?

I support this and i hope that u will take full port and that will be good and that will work.... I dont have rooted phone but if this work without bugs i will root and make this on my phone...
This thread is relevant to your interests.
Referenced APK is here.
recompiled custom Kernel for lp and built an update from the nethunter sources. Flashed that to a custom ROM I installed to my MultiROM enviorment. The nethunter app is starting up nicely and installs the minimal chroot on the ROM and the nethunter package after a small tweek as well.
Unfortunately I cant get my TP-Link USB wifi to work, even tho it shows up correctly in the lsusb command. Can't issue the lsmod, since /proc/modules is missig - which mitght be a cause...
Wonder if anybody else has tried to port nethunter for the Moto G 2014 and has some hints to share.
tl;dr: Kernel compiled nicely, install went well: cant get the usb wifi to work in chroot
K, getting closer. Managed to compile a kernel for cm13 that recognizes the TL-WN722N but fails to get the firmware.
dmesg shows:

Anybody ever stumbled across this error with a Nexus device and is able to advise?
kali linuxt net Hunter (-.-)
I flashed it with cm12.1 snapshot build...and 5 more hacking application installed.. but when I goto the net hunter application and launch the wifite it will show some errors....not working to me plz help
Compiled for titan
Hey all,
did some more research and compiling on the issues I had earlier with the TL-WN722N and the kali-nethunter update. However, the whole thing works fine on a CM13 ROM, in a multi-ROM environment with the modified Viper-Kernel by @Vatsal, which I compiled with the drivers for the USB WiFi dongle.
What I changed for the update-nethunter.zip:
added titan device and kernel to kali update.zip
added /sbin to $PATH var
added firmware file
made it copy firmware to the right location on device
Hope this is the right spot to link the downloads for the files - grab em from here if you want:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6sAGHNGgu5ybFV4dkJPUnFXWFE (not yet allowed to post links due to postcount)
Install is quite as simple as allways:
install your preferred CM13 nigtly
flash update-nethunter-titan-marshmallow-xxx.zip
flash Viper-Atheros-titan.zip
Have fun.

First, Thanks for your efforts!
I'm also using the same TLWN722N wireless card
This will work only with multirom?
I flashed with TWRP the cm13 (build-20160210 nightly) also the Kali update
And the modified viper kernel also. The OS boots fine. But there is no apps and other stuffs related to Nethunter. The kernel alone is changed and only cm13 files and apps are present.
Or Can you please make a tutorial video for installing this ported nethunter properly in moto g2 ?
Should I use it only with multirom? Its not working with normal TWRP recovery
Edit: Sorry..Forgot to install the superSU it caused problems
i have tried installing this .. i am unable to launch any thing it says install android terminal ... ihave already installed android terminal any help ??

Bro I also faced the same problem... just go to the recovery wipe dalvik cache, data, system and do a clean flash of cyanogenmod 13. Flash gapps and wipe dalvik data/cache again to avoid fc's and reboot to system.
Wait for it to load everything. Now reboot to the recovery again and select update Kali zip and select ALL the packages in it and flash it. After that flash the viper kernel and reboot the system again.
This is what I did. Everything is working fine till now...
Is there a download for the Galaxy S5?

Should work with cyn pop. Flashed the kernel with some CM based ROMS successfully, but haven't tested it with cyn pop yet.
Will this work with moto g 2013 also?

Hi all!
I will try to get the Android Open Accessory (AOA) protocol into our defy/defy+.
Anybody else working on this topic?
Atm I just added the android.hardware.usb.accessory.xml file to /etc/permissions and the com.android.future.usb.accessory.jar to /system/framework (jar taken from the droid sdk API16, my fw is latest quarx CM10).
Right now I can install f.w. the ADK2012 app. So I may on the right way... but I guess that is not all the work... does anybody know if we need to add some kernel modules f.e.?
[Edit] btw... looks like we just need to add a new f_accessory.o to our usb gadget... f.e. see https://www.codeaurora.org/gitweb/q...in;h=5d9d8625e39f815673dedea353f39edccabb1fac
Best regards, Stephan
Like to know this to. If quarx managed to give us sub host, I might be able to use my duomilanove board...
Aren't there other projects for the ADK that doesn't use the protocols?
Please ask all questions in the Q&A section. Thread moved there.
Ok... I gave it a short try with the patch and quarx's linux-2.6.32 but it failed during the compiliation... but meanwhile I noticed that quarx is working on linux-3.0.8 (see its repo in github). There we have our accessory...
So I would say stay tuned for a while and let's if quarx may got this newer kernel working with our defy...
You can find all the steps needed to patch it here:
https://github.com/ezterry/manifest-gingerbread-DS/issues/32
They're saying everywere that you need 2.6.35+ kernel (don't know if it really is mandatory, kernel in the link is 2.6.34)
A kernel with the same chipset that has it enabled can be found here:
https://github.com/XDA-Bam/samsung_kernel_latona_GB
Apparently, you need to enable it in the kernel (config), add the libs to the kernel (driver/usb/f_accesory and include/linux/f_.accesory), add the lib in the framework (might be included from CM side already??), hope it will work (or debug why not).
---------- Post added at 01:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:06 AM ----------
It seems that the files are indeed in the 3.0 kernel.
I already ordered a USB-host shield for my arduino a week ago, I'll try and compile a kernel with it ones it comes in the mail.
Edit:
Tried the changes I listed, will build it tomorrow (or so). Maybe then my shield might arrive to (hate waiting, stupid holidays.. )
Any place to upload it when it works?
Got something build, but it didn't include the /system/framework/com.android.future.usb.accessory.jar and got bootloop without (cause I added the /etc/permision/something_with_usb_accesory.something
Pushed the jar with adb from bootmenu (from another CM rom).
Don't have the usb_shield yet, so can't really test. Will try and install an usb_accessory app. Does someone want the build to try?
Ok, the app fails to launch.
Ok, my repo's:
Kernel: https://github.com/labsin/jordan-kernel/commits/2.6.32
Device: https://github.com/labsin/android_device_moto_jordan-common/commits/jb_2ndboot
But doesn't work. The library isn't build (in framework/base).
And it also doesn't build in the kernel... :/
Anyone??
Might it be possible to check the driver?
Edit: Found it.
It seems to many commits need to be merged in. Can't seem to find a kernel that's not based on the nexus line that has it.
If anyone is still interested in this, I managed to make an Arduino Mega ADK board with the DemoKit application work in accessory mode on my Defy
Quarx backported the USB gadget driver from 3.0.8 kernel into his 2.6.32 based kernel already a while ago. All that was still missing was the accessory configuration in init.usb.rc and the .jar and .xml files. Quarx has already merged my pull request, so in the next CM10.1 nightly with 2.6.32 kernel, USB accessory mode should work out of the box
Thnx. Already saw this actually
[size=+2]This ROM is no longer updated as I don't have the device anymore. Feel free to use my code from GitHub to compile newer versions.[/size]
I have created this ROM for my E210L and I would like to share it here. This is direct port of Cyanogenmod/LineageOS from i9300 to E210L/S/K.
My ROM is based on work from FullGreen: https://github.com/FullGreen and on weeks of original research.
Previous versions of my ROM was direct ports of FullGreen ROM to E210L, later version was ported from scratch from CM13 stable release ZNH5Y sources for i9300, and still had many things based on FullGreen work.
The new version is based on latest source of LineageOS for GT-I9300.
[size=+3]ROM Download[/size]
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=146865 - updated at 2018-10-02.
Older releases:
https://mega.nz/#F!28xyAJTY!gQ5dsDWIz3ydJkhyHEZ1fQ
[size=+3]Flashing[/size]
It is always recommended to upgrade to latest official stock ROM before switching to LineageOS. This is because latest stock ROM includes updated modem and bootloader.
To flash the ROM, use TWRP - for E210L it is available together with the ROM. For E210S and E210K, use TWRP for I9300 from http://twrp.me.
GApps can be downloaded from http://opengapps.org/ , architecture ARM, version 7.1, variant nano.
Boeffla kernel - optional - is also available with the ROM, it can be installed from recovery if you wan't to use it.
[size=+3]WARNING!!![/size]
PLEASE BACK UP EFS BEFORE FLASHING!!! Tweaking this phone can cause EFS wipe in some cases, and you must have a backup to restore it to normal.
[size=+3]Known bugs:[/size]
- Signal strength sometimes will be shown empty, this is only cosmetic issue (but too difficult for me to fix) and don't affect real signal strength.
- As my ROM is based on official LineageOS sources, and for now there is no stable release of LineageOS, if there are bugs in official LineageOS for i9300, they will be probably present also in my ROM.
- Cell broadcasts are disabled as they seem to cause battery drain.
Please note that for most of the cases I cannot solve bugs as I'm not LineageOS developer, I'm only doing a direct port from I9300 to E210.
[size=+3]Troubleshooting[/size]
If having issues with WIFI or IMEI:
Enable developer options and ADB root access, then connect phone to computer and enter in adb shell:
Code:
su
restorecon -R -F /efs
reboot
You have to do this from normal LineageOS, NOT from recovery or from stock/another ROM.
If you restore EFS from backup or go to another ROM and return to this ROM and you have problems, do this again.
There is no harm in doing this if not sure.
If your WIFI still not working, read this:
WIFI module in Galaxy S3 can be of three different types - murata, semco and semcosh. Normally the driver should be able to detect the right type by MAC address, but in LineageOS detection not always works correctly. Theoretically this can be a problem also for the regular model GT-I9300, but it seems to affect mainly the SHV-E210 model. To overcome this, I have made an option to manually override your WIFI module type. To do this, you have to update to my latest version of the ROM and then create an empty file named wifi_override_murata or wifi_override_semco or wifi_override_semcosh in your /data partition.
To do this, enable developer options, then turn on root access for ADB, then connect phone to computer, enter adb shell and execute :
Code:
su
For murata :
rm /data/wifi_override_semco
rm /data/wifi_override_semcosh
touch /data/wifi_override_murata
For semco :
rm /data/wifi_override_semcosh
rm /data/wifi_override_murata
touch /data/wifi_override_semco
For semcosh :
rm /data/wifi_override_murata
rm /data/wifi_override_semco
touch /data/wifi_override_semcosh
Then reboot the phone and try again using WIFI. You have try each of the three options to determine which option is right for your device. And if you hard reset your device, you will have to do this again.
In voice call, if the other person hears an echo of himself try to change AudioFX settings or disable AudioFX in the app.

CyanogenMOD and LineageOS teams for the OS,
FullGreen for the ROM and the kernel,
TWRP for custom recovery,
osm0sis for Android Image Kitchen,
xpirt for sdat2img and rimg2sdat,
Lord Boeffla for his kernel and Anykernel scripts,
and everyone else I have used their work.
Runs great so far!
Nice job on making this work on this device, a fix for the battery drain issue would be perfect. I sadly do not have knowledge of this else i would be able to assist. Keep it up!

I'm looking for feedback from experienced users right now.
Welcome to the thread on Kali NetHunter for the Wileyfox Storm.
If you don't know what Kali NetHunter is, well, it's the entire Kali Linux operating system in a chroot on your phone, plus a bunch of awesome apps for executing exploits, fixing things, doing cool things. It goes on, I suppose.
I'm gonna be honest guys, I'm not a security person. When it comes to security, I'm more of a Paul Blart.
What I do know though, is that there is apt-get, and apt-get is life.
Find much more information here: https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter/wiki
The answer to all your questions, generally the answer is YES, IT CAN DO THAT.
The installer zip will add a few files (including busybox) to your /system partition, and install all of the NetHunter apps to your /data partition.
The chroot is located in /data/local, so you don't have to worry about your system partition being full. It's full read/write capable.
Understand that the zip will replace your current kernel with a completely different one.
This is necessary because most stock or custom kernels don't provide the drivers needed to operate most of Kali NetHunter's features.
These Kali NetHunter builds are designed and tested for CyanogenMod 13.0.
DOWNLOAD
Current version: 3.1.0 (testing, 2016-04-29)
Download here: https://idlekernel.com/nethunter/kipper (testing) and https://idlekernel.com/nethunter/nightly (chroot)
Your device is: kipper (Wileyfox Storm)
Recommended install method: Use Official TWRP 3 for kipper
Install kernel-nethunter-kipper and nethunter-generic-armhf-kalifs-full-rolling zips in any order.
You can actually only install the kernel if you want to take advantage of its features without having to install the rest of NetHunter!
BEFORE INSTALLING
Do not flash the NetHunter update or chroot zip with a fresh data partition!
Most ROMs will wipe it clean on the first boot if you haven't completed the Android Setup Wizard yet, there's no need to wipe your ROM or data to try it out. I do advise backing up your data partition before flashing the zip though.
(this should no longer be possible now with added installation checks)
Please make sure your phone boots fine and runs fine before flashing NetHunter. It's confusing when people report bugs that exist due to other factors unrelated to NetHunter.
The Kali chroot and apps are installed on your data partition (in /data/local for chroot). To initialize the chroot and install Kali Linux, you need to start the Kali NetHunter app.
The NetHunter installer will automatically install SuperSU in system mode, which I consider to be more stable. Since NetHunter already modifies your system partition, there is no need to use systemless SuperSU anyways.
If you would like to use another root method, or prefer systemless SuperSU, then simply remove the supersu folder from the installer zip and it will proceed without it.
FULL INSTALL STEPS
Boot into TWRP.
Flash kernel-nethunter-kipper and nethunter-generic-armhf-kalifs-full-rolling zips in any order.
Reboot into your ROM.
Open the NetHunter app
Let the NetHunter app finish setting everything up
You're done!
UPDATING TO A NEWER BUILD
Going from 3.0.0 and up, all you have to do is flash the new build in recovery. On some ROMs you may need to wipe dalvik cache.
UPDATING YOUR ROM
To get all your NetHunter and SuperSU functions back after flashing a new ROM, just reflash the kernel-nethunter-kipper zip and the ~60 MB update-nethunter-generic-armhf zip in TWRP.
RUNNING WIFI PENETRATION TESTS
The internal WiFi chipset of the Wileyfox Storm is not capable of running services which use monitor mode such as Wifite. For this, you will need to use a monitor mode capable WiFi adapter through a USB-C host adapter.
As for compatible adapters, I highly recommend the Alfa Networks AWUS036NEH (eBay) which uses the Ralink RT3070 chipset. There are currently no monitor mode supported Wireless-AC adapters available.
Once plugged in, you can run the command from Kali terminal to turn on your adapter:
[email protected]:~# ip link set wlan1 up
RAN INTO AN ISSUE OR BUG?
In order for me to help you, you have to at minimum reply with:
The link to the exact zip you downloaded
Your device model (it better be kipper)
The name of the ROM you're flashing it on
The version and build date of the ROM you're flashing it on
A complete description of your problem
Optional: An audio recording of you reading this entire post
If your issue is with a specific app, it might be better to contact the developer of that app.
If your issue is during the installation (ex. flashing the NetHunter zip), then please collect a TWRP recovery.log for me.
If you found a problem and were able to fix it, and no one's mentioned it in the thread already, it would be kind to state the issue and your fix for others to make use of as well.
You can join me and the other NetHunter developers on IRC at the #nethunter room on freenode to more handily diagnose problems together.
I apologize, but I can't do house calls at this time.
KNOWN ISSUES
USB Keyboard & VNC - Google Keyboard, AOSP Keyboard, CM Keyboard do not work due to a depth bug, use Hacker's Keyboard as a workaround.
Terminal App - Full screen programs like nano or vi are unusable unless you use the resize command. (type resize when opening a new terminal window)
THE KERNEL
The NetHunter kernel for the Wileyfox Storm is based on CyanogenMod 13.0 nightly kernel sources.
It has the following changes:
F2FS added using Jaeguek Kim's latest kernel.org:f2fs-stable sources (available on system/data/cache!)
UKSM - Ultra Kernel Same-page Merging support
Compiled with -O2 optimizations using GCC Linaro 4.9 2016.02 aarch64 toolchain
Simple IO (SIO) scheduler as default IO scheduler (updated for modern kernels)
USB HID Gadget keyboard support
mac80211 packet injection support
Westwood, HTCP, or Cubic (default) TCP congestion algorithms (updated with bug fixes)
savoca's KCAL display color calibration driver
RTL-SDR, BT RFCOMM, and various WiFi OTG drivers enabled
NFS and CIFS client support with file caching
Running in SELinux Permissive mode
Additional drivers built in for the full Kali NetHunter experience

You just have to take the kernel sources of whatever ROM you're using and enable some features, apply a few small patches, then recompile the kernel and flash it with NetHunter installer.
See: https://github.com/offensive-security/kali-nethunter/wiki/Porting-Nethunter
I have no idea if this kernel works! No one has tested so far. Once I know it works, I will move it to our official NetHunter branch and it will make it into the next official release.
If you are competent enough to follow instructions, we're glad to help people port their devices in #nethunter on freenode IRC.
I can also review ports to help you find missing configs, broken patches, etc. and merge them into official if you are willing to maintain them!

Hey,
I just gave this a go, and ended up sailing pretty close to bricking my Wileyfox Storm! I managed to re-flash cyanogenmod 13 and get it booting again though! Perhaps a stupid question, but is there a way to restore the stock Wileyfox kernel etc? I quite liked the setup they had, and I didn't think to back it up :-s
Also, I do think this would be really cool if it works! So keep up the good work!

It is based on fenix-Q for miui also building for miui 11 is going to get outdated soon as it is based on Android 9. If i get some more users who needs this in MIUI 11 I'll consider building one. Also MIUI 12 is not bad.

As a matter of fact it is quite possible and Nethunter Devs have identified Phones that have packet injection working one of them is One plus 3T and they are trying to make it work with our drivers. As soon as they release new info i'll keep you guys updated.
This is great, I flashed it on top of crDroid with magisk and microG, worked as charm, everything working and stable.. thanks @arunbiju969
