Anyone have a similar experience? I've reset the Moto app, enabled Approach and nothing. Not sure if my sensors went out or something is bugged. They used to work then I disabled it, now even when enabled it no longer works. Maybe there is another setting that goes along with the screen to allow it?
Restart?

Restart didn't help I don't want to restore unless 100% needed. I didn't like the feature but then after having to mess with power button in the case I found it easy to use teh sensors.

Are you running as Stock or custom rom? Has it worked before? Have you tried hard resetting? Need more input
factory reset
Looks like it is time for a factory reset. Did you mess with the registry at all!?
what do you mean by registry? Also, the only real mod ive done was Cookies home tab.
PS: hard resetting did not work, and yes, it worked a few days ago.
stock and custom roms are like actuall mods to the windows software right?

"Stock ROM" is the software (including Windows Mobile, HTC Sense, and all the factory-installed apps) that was on your phone when you first bought it. Custom ROMs are what are developed here, and replace the stock one with one that's been tweaked or customized in some way.
If you were running anything but the stock ROM, you would know it because the process to put a new one on there is fairly involved (unless you bought a used phone that already had a custom ROM on it...)
Bought my phone new, got it like last week. All and any customizations to my phone were on CAB files.

I have only had this issue once but I reflashed the rom and it was ok. I would try flashing a stock rom and if that doesnt fix it then it maybe a hardware issue and I would take it to a T-mobile store for a replacement
how do i reflash a stock rom, and will it mess anything up? Like my custom home tab, or my programs?

If you did a hard reset then all your mods should not be there. Flashing a stock rom will remove all the modes you have done. was your modes still there after the hard reset?
yes everything was unchanged. And hard resetting is taking out the battery when it is running correct?

No a Hard Reset is holding the volume down and volume up button and then hit the reset button on the back. Keep holding the volume buttons till you get a grey screen and then follow the directions. This will reset your phone to factory. then install your cabs one by one till you find the one that caused the issue
both vol buttons simultaneously??? And that doesnt sound fun, i guess it will be a good idea to back up everything.

It should not be asking for your serial on a hard reset. If you are trying to DL a stock rom, do the Hard reset first, I am 99.9% certin it will fix the camera
If that finger-dance is a little too tricky, you can also do a hard-reset by going to Settings -> All Settings -> System, and then running the "Clear Storage" icon you'll find there. The buttons method is good to know though, in case you need to hard-reset a totally-locked up phone someday

You bet! I still use the hardware method, both because it just "feels" more absolute, and in case I need to be adept at it if I ever can't get into the software, like last time....and the time before...and.. LOL
All of a sudden my tab has stopped auto rotating. It turns vertical and sitcks there. I was using adw launcher but uninstalled it. Tried recalibrating. The auto rotation is selected. Tried resetting everything short of a clean wipe which I will do later if i can't figure this out.
Anybody have any other ideas?
Thanks

You tried wiping cache and davlik cache through CWM?
If that doesn't work, try doing a full wipe and re-flashing your ROM

Go into settings and turn on Motion Activation under Motion Settings. Try those out and if they dont respond at all, its a hardware problem and you need a replacement.
I wonder if theres an app that will display all of the orientation values? If there is you could use and and see whats up (no pun intended).

App? Probably not.
Coding somewhere? Probably.
Like a Portrait mode = 0 or = 1
There is an app for that: Elixir
Device info with full details, and you can also test all sensors.
Took it back to the store. I honestly think the accelerometer broke. No motion sensitive anything would work.
Appreciate the help

I can't reset all device, but I have Titanium backup and is able to clear cache and wipe specific app data, and I cleared the S voice app but still does not work.
Tried to install also manually the apk and does not work either.

bring it back to where you bought it and return it for a replacement then... or just use google now, doesnt google now work better i heard?
OK just figure this out.
Although this must be some bug of stock 4.2.2, I found the solution.
Removed the app completely with TB, cleared system cache from stock recovery and on TB app also, rebooted 2 times and installed manually the s voice apk, now I can speak to my phone normally and the girl do what I say.
Thanks anyway :good:

Yeah more or less Google now works.
The problem here with S voice is for non root users if they encounter this issue you cannot manage system apps or uninstall completely as you can do with TB on a rooted device, then you have to factory reset all device again witch is a pain.
Anyway is working just perfect now, witch is cool
Clear App data in Application manager..fixes this
Ive a problem when trying to activate the Power Saving mode in settings.
when i press it i always get a Force Close on the Settings app. i can press the quick settings button in the notification area, but that does not seem to activate anything.
anyone has any idea? should i try to clear data on the settings app? or will i lose all of my settings?
thx
Anyone any idea?
I noticed that it works now when I use the quick settings tile in the notification pull down. Don't know if that's because I rooted and Uninstalled a bunch of samsung apps.
Anyways it's now also visible as activated in settings, but clicking in settings results in an fc still.
Another thing I noticed is that gsam battery monitor does lose battery stats from time to time, maybe that's because of the same problem.

Please be absolutely sure about what systems apps do you want to remove, specially if they are Samsung packages. I'm cannot be sure but it looks like that is what's causing the issue.

If that is the case, try clearing cache from the Recovery and see if that works. If not, you can always try flashing the latest firmware!
Ok i will try tomorrow. But one question : where can I find the last firmware. I am pretty new to a Samsung device.
Thank you for your help
Edit:
I tried to clear cache and art cache. nothing has changed.

Hey people of XDA,
Since yesterday i suddenly have a huge! font in my phone app but only on the contacts Tab, nowhere else....
Does someone faced a similar issue and has an idea on how to change back to normal without factory reset?
Already tried to force stop and clear caches of contacts, contacts storage, and all 3 phone apps under Settings>>apps but that did not help.
Thx in advance and have a better day than me
Same here, try to use volume key and even clear data and cache but doesn't work for me

Yeah didn't work for me either. Decided to do a factory reset now
Uninstalling substratum overlays fixed it for me
Do a factory reset (I know, it will erase your data) and see if the issue will persist.
