Galaxy S5 infected? HELP - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so about a week ago I was showing my friend a picture off a GroupMe and all of a sudden my screen shaded green. After that the keyboard moves everywhere and all of the graphics move. I can barely text or do anything on my phone. I contacted Samsung and they had me do a factory reset and run in SafeMode but the problem still occurred. if I lock the phone then the screen stays black until I take the battery out and put it back in. I don't know if this is related but my Bluetooth and Wi-Fi refuse to turn on. Do y'all know what this might be and if so how do I fix it?
Thanks!

It sounds like a hardware problem, to be honest. You might want to send it in.

Random screen blank problem

My HD suddenly developed a problem where the screen will sometime not turn on when come out of standby, or after soft-reset. When this happens, I noticed that the phone is still working because you can feel the feedback from the virtual buttons. The screen is just blank.
I tried hard-resetting it but during the process when the phone goes to reset, the screen goes blank again but the phone continues to function.
I think it is a hardware problem as when I soft-reset it, the "smart mobility..." screen does not even comes on. The phone just continues to boot up.
This only happens randomly and I cannot reproduce it everytime. I am concern that if I sent it for service, they might not be able to reproduce the problem and send it straight back.
I am from Sydney Australia so the only authorised repairer is Fonebiz.
Anyone has experience dealing with them?
Do they have tools to diagnose the problem even if they cannot reproduce the problem? I suspect the motherboard is faulty.
I really like my HD and this is just painful! Any comments or advise will be much appreciated.
I have the exact same problem which I mentioned: here though after some time I had the additional issue that the screen would come on but with an upside down mirror image, and sometimes when that happened it would also look very low res or pixelated or whatever.
I just mailed it off to a repair center in the Czech Republic. Hopefully they will be able to reproduce the problem. It was getting to the point where it would rarely turn on correctly.

Actually I also have the problems with upsidedown screen and the low res/faded effect.
Please keep us posted with the service.
I have the same problem and it's getting worse and worse. Today it happend around 20 times. And at the moment it doesn't even happen anything although I had it some seconds ago in my hands. I turned screen off, put it on the desk and now nothing, even no vibration, just dead...

So they are able to fix it? Gives me hope again
If the problem happens often and can be easily reproduced, it should be easy to fix. Problem with mine is that it only happens once or twice a day. I might have to wait a bit before sending it for service. Luckily I still have 10 months on my warranty.

Ok then I send it in, because now it happens all the time. Just have to leave it some minutes and then it's black again :-(
ive been having the same problem, try this:
go to setings - system - power - advanced
untick "turn off device if not used for"
seems to have worked for me

Yeah sure that works but then the phone is always on so your battery gets drained real fast, not?

Screen "vibration" (flicking?)

Hi all,
as my signature says... yes, I sent my X1 to repair (cracks, as always). When I got it back, it seems to be perfect. Outside. Switched it on and it seemed ok.
As soon as I came back home, I noticed that the lower part of the screen "vibrates" (I can not define it in a better way... I suppose the right verb is "to flick"). At sunlight I did not noticed it, but at home and in the dark it is really really visible (and annoying, on a 600€ brand new phone).
Does someone ever had the same issue? or does someone know how to solve it (apart from sending it again to repair).
Thanks!
P.S.: searched the thread and foud nothing. Searched in google and just came up with a "refresh" problem, that does not apply to our X1... or can we change the refresh rate?!
I did once experience what I believe was the same issue, the flickering screen. The problem was still there after a soft reset and power cycle, but then after leaving the phone for a few minutes it turned back to normal.
Unfortunately I don't think I be of much help here as I don't recall doing anything special to get the screen back to normal.

Thanks... I'll just spend my time watching at it and hoping it will magically disappear like it happened for you!

+1 Here. Gone after some while. Try to full charge it.
it happened to me always on the hard reset screen. Never happened any other time...thankfully...

still got the 'phone never waking up from lock' issue

man i hate it.. if my screen goes out for even a few seconds, i have to yank the battery and restart the phone. i realized the phone isnt turning off when it happens tho, cause it happens during calls when im talking to someone, theyll still be there, but i wont be able to turn the screen back on, and even after they hang up its still dead.. and i made a test call to my phone and it rang like 8 times before going to voicemail, so im sure the phone is still on when becomes unresponsive. if its plugged in it wont do this, so i have to leave it plugged in 24/7.. when im driving i either have to leave the screen on 'never turn off' or restart my phone every time i wanna check my directions.. i had this problem on JB5 and madaco R1 and now R2.. does anyone else know anything about this?
Sounds more or less like a hardware issue.
Maybe get samsung to look at it?
Sounds like a pretty serious issue, and not something that I've seen commonly reported. Definitely not fit for purpose, I'd consider sending it back for a replacement.
It might be nothing to do with it, but I have heard that some cases and screen covers can interfere with the operation of the proximity switch that turns off the screen during a call. If this is covered the screen will not turn on again after being switched off.

G2 Screen just went completely black

Scenario: I was playing... air hockey...and you know how that game can get intense?! Well I was jumping up and down and somebody was calling me but I was too into it to check it. Then it stopped and someone (Maybe same person) called again so I paused the game and checked my phone, it was just a black screen. The lights on the capacitive buttons were working, buttons were working (because the phone was vibrating) and the actual phone was still working but just couldn't see anything. I pulled the battery, turned it back on, put it in my pocket and started playing again. At the end of the game (Yeah, I lost) I checked and it was still black. The screen wasn't off, it was just black LED's I guess. I could scroll to unlock and everything, and now its just stuck like that. Stuck as in I can't see anything...
Not really asking for help because I think the phone messed up, but I'm just saying that the phone might not be perfectly built, or atleast mine wasn't...
T-Mobiles closed right now so I'ma call tomorrow morning.

Wrong Forum? But this situation is DEVELOPING as we speak...
It is an interesting DEVELOPMENT, to say the least.
Maybe he should take pictures and have them DEVELOPED so we have a better understanding!
I had a similar issue but when starting the phone, I would just get a black screen but with the capacitive buttons working but no widgets and no access to apps. Menu options works because I was able to access settings but that's about it. A guy from tmobile forum told me to do a factory reset as maybe it just a minor hiccup in the phone manufacturing so I did and ever since, I have not seen the black screen and I have done a few reboots just to check. Goodluck!
No I just can't see anything. It's like all the LED's are black, I can't factory reset it or anything. Unless someone can do it without looking at the screen....
same thing literally just happened to be about 20 minutes ago. i am extremely frustrated. the screen is just black but its like i can move around on the phone. does anyone know whats going on???
Hey guys,
After another freeze, I was able to actually connect via ADB. The shell was working fine.
Anyways, I did a logcat, and I saw the attached code looping.

It just keeps looping on these audio logs.
Any thoughts?
Anyone else get logcats similar or different than this?

My screen just dies, please help!

Hello everyone. I just bought the OnePlus 8 Pro, set it up, used it a little and then opened the camera, and changed to selfie mode. Suddenly the screen turned green and turned off. Since then I cannot boot my phone and i see green flashes on my screen and nothing works. I can still hear the phone works (Lock screen noises and vibrations) but still can't see anything apart from green flashes every 5 seconds. I've tried to hard reset the phone a few times, but no luck, screen still flashes green.
Please tell me if there is something i can do to fix the issue, or the screen just died.
Why would you want to try and fix the issue? It sounds like a hardware failure and you should return your device. Sure it's a ****ty situation but these things happen.

The only way to solve this is to RMA sadly. Definitely a hardware issue and needs to be replaced (if within the appropriate time) or repaired.
