[Q] ICS Official update question

Hi Guys, this is my first post here. been reading up on Android for a while and have to say you guys are awesome some really great info in here.
i just have one quick question if someone would be so kind to help.
i was awaiting the ICS update and checking the Facebook page (and here). wasnt feeling experienced enough to do the whole root and mod stuff yet (hopefully soon)
but on the facebook page. i noted this link for a simple official upgrade

i followed the procedure (perhaps very stupidly)
came straight here to see what new magic i could make
and saw the "Public Service Announcement"

Wow you seem jittery... Don't worry about these xda guys. I've been here for about a month, they're all bark and no bite. mostly neurotic folks itching to pick on noobs =D.
Btw new ics is solid just enjoy it.

[Q] ANyone elses glass lifting

I have noticed in the last couple weeks the glass has started to lift it would look like on the bottom of my phone wondering if anyone has seen this and warrantied on it.

I have not but that definitely sounds like a warranty claim to me

I actually answered a question another time. Plus I thought I was asking a general question in the general section of the g2 forum. Is this the incorrect place for my question.

[Q] A few questions about the

Hi,
I've just got this phone today and i'm actually quite impressed with it, my last Sammy was an S3, i've had HTC and Sony ever since, I go the gear fit with my phone too which works quite well too.
One thing i'd like to know, is there a way to root the device so that it can be unrooted and no one will tell, not even samsung, I don't care for a custom rom i'd just like to be able to use a few mods.
Plus will the gear fit still work with the device if it's rooted ???

Yes.
My question to you in turn would be why, after 3,597 posts, you don't try searching the forum first before posting a question? Or peruse a few threads at the top, either of which would have readily answered such a common query.

If i could offer some advice, perhaps you could practice not saying things like that to people, q and a is for questions and answers, it isn't an excuse to act like a ****.

First of all ill explain a little deeper as regards to my question as you obviously didn't get my point.
Q1) is there a root method that is reversable without losing warranty or anyone knowing about it namely Samsung?
Secondly does rooting mess with the gear fit..
Thirdly, why do you have little man syndrome? Is it because you are a little man? No reason to take it out on me, I was polite and courteous to whomever answered me but your response is both rude and uncouth, not to mention presumptuous. I think you should quit while you are ahead, my question was bespoke, you need to but out and stop typing.. bottom line here is that you wouldn't be talking to me like this if I was speaking to you face to face. For that reason alone, I suggest you don't reply..

and about the root thing, yes there is a way and its an app called towelroot , you can download it from the site towelroot.com/tr
and about the gear fit thing I dont know because I dont have one but I dont think that if you root your phone it will mess with it.
anyway if anything goes wrong you can always unroot with SuperSu app

That's very true, different cultures clashing sometimes causes issues like that whereas one won't see any problem with saying something in a particular way but it wasn't that, I've literally just got the device, didn't want a slanging match, just wanted a bit of advice, if someone knew then it'd be a lot less hassle to just say it rather than attempt to police the forum.
There's nearly 6 million users on XDA and that's registered users, even if a sixth of those people repeatedly ask questions by the time you've told each and every single one of them that they should search first, you'd more than likely have aged 20 years.
As for the original question, I ended up rooting using towel root, the gear fit still works as expected so all is well, many thanks for all the input, it's appreciated. And lol don't worry i'll be searching in the future, was just very rushed at the time and had a lot going on.

The time spent to search "roms for s5 g900f" is equivalent to how long it will take for you to get an answer. No one is going to google for you, especially after you have explicitly said you dont feel like doing it.

Not meaning no disrespect but you didn't read my post very well then. I said I don't have time to do it. I have kids that I have to get to bed BC I'm a single father. I also have church to wakeup and go to tomorrow and the guy with the s5 wants to meet tomorrow. I would gladly research it if I didn't have slow internet and my kids to take care of. I was just hoping that someone with the knowledge of this variant of S5 could give me a little heads up on what I could do if I happen to get the phone.

You know what, going back to my post, i agree i was a little harsh, ive found myself to be a little abrasive recently on and offline and i appologoze for taking it out on you. That said, i still feel the main purpose of my post stands, especially since you acknowledge you know you should search for the answer. From my quick peek however you should be fine, just know you'll need to search around for how to do it, im sure youve seen it before, no one here wants to and most of the time wont spoonfeed you. Once again i appologize for being rude, and i hope you have a nice rest of your night/day/evening.

Don't feel bad. I've only been on Android for a year and I found out about it from your post since I wasn't "born" with the knowledge and never ran across one of these tips about it. I guess it's hard to Google something you don't yet know is there to Google. Seriously, don't be dicks to him, guys; it kind of discourages people from wanting to share anything at all.
