None yet i think. Can you access our bootloader by pressing power + volume up button?
Unfortunately no. Tried different methods but had no success.

I don't get why ze550kl can access their bootloader but ze500kl can't. This will really make it hard for devs to tinker around our phone. I hope ASUS will release some kind of bootloader unlock tool.

ze550kl can not access their bootloader .
Root method?
I just read about the stagefright bug on the wiki. It says that it allows
an attacker to perform arbitrary operations on the victim device through remote code execution and privilege escalation.

Note that it says privilege escalation. Does that mean it is possible to have a root method by using the stagefright bug?

Maybe we can achieve root in this exploit but the problem is I think this exploit is not yet disclosed publicly.

Hello, I'm new to the xperia arc S, i already have a samsung galaxy S and it's really easy flashing with that device. Now comming to this new one I'm having many problems. My phone has bootloader locked, trying to give it root right now but i can't see how i would be able to flash CM9 because i will need a ICS kernel with recovery and I don't seem to able to flash it. Any help will be appreciated.
You have to unlock bootloader first
Any easy/free way of doing that?

If your bootloader is locked, you can't.
If your bootloader is unlocked, flash a recovery and then a SuperSU .zip.

All known methods of unlocking the bootloader were closed off a few updates ago, while we were still on Jellybean. Best of luck with finding one now; unless you (or someone else) succeed, you're permanently on KitKat.

Considering that you have to ask, it's probably locked. If you really want to check, power on the phone while holding both volume buttons.
The know-how for softmodding a game console isn't going to help much with unlocking or modifying Android devices; they're very different beasts.

Neat tool, but it might be better to rename to title. Right now it gives it the impression that it'll magically unlock your device without the code.
Hello, I am the creator of a toolkit for the moto g called motoflash.
I was wondering if you would mind me including this within the toolkit?
I would certainly give full credit.

Moto G Boot Loader unlock tool
Hello hard91,
This is an old thread but I am using a Verizon MotoG with a locked bootloader . The Motorola sit says that it doesn't qualify for the unlocking code. I'd love to get rid of the Verizon Bloat to help it run better. Any more news on your bootloader tool?
Thanks,

I would be glad to test! My Moto G is not much to lose, its got a cracked screen and 8GB with no externally expandable storage doesn't cut it for me.

Nope... I have a locked bootloader. Damn Verizon! What I hate the most is that darn bloatware!
Still really would be glad to test anything to help the community achieve the ability to customize their Verizon Moto Gs.

I dont want to unlock bootloader yet. So i wanted to root the device safely without flashing anything.
You simply can't flash any zips unless on a custom recovery and for that you have to unlock bootloader.
BTW the first thing i did upon getting my op5 was to unlock the bootloader.
"Root without flashing anything."

You're more likely to brick your phone using a janky and sketchy no-unlocking method than using the documented and manufacturer-recommended method.

Rooting touches your device just as much. Unlocking the bootloader is like using the key to open a door to get into a building. Trying to do it without unlocking is like using a sledgehammer to break in through the door.

Yes but one-click root apps are very unreliable in general and most don`t even work nowadays (especialy system less root). Unlocking the bootloader and flashing Magisk or superSU with TWRP is the best and safest method atm.

Sorry, quoted the wrong user meant the post of @xabierd
Mate, if you don't want to replace your recovery with TWRP, go to fastboot, make sure you have your phone discoverable and use the command "fastboot boot recovery.zip" - recovery.zip being TWRP. This will just boot into TWRP where you can flash magisk or supersu. This won't replace your stock recovery.
You will still need to unlock your bootloader however...
As stated in the title, I found a link for the SM-J727T cf auto root file.

Has anyone tried using this? Is this confirmed to not work? I just got the J727T today, and I was looking around for a root method. Could this be it?

I started a Telegram Group for the reat of the 2017 J7s. pass the word if you know anyone
https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=g183258230
Looks like instructions were posted only 6 days ago (Sept. 26) to a website called recovery-mode. I can't post a link but if you google "root sm-j727t" it is on the 1st page.
Is this new or is it the same method being talked about earlier in this thread?
Also, I don't see OEM unlock in my developer options. Only install from unknown sources. Am I missing something?
Thanks, hope we figure this out.
There's no oem unlock option, I don't think we'll have anything unless we get that or they find some crazy workaround.
Try FRP unlock method using ADB command.

answer the man!
The cf auto root available is based on an early build with a first gen bootloader. J727T1UVU1AQG1
Does anyone have this version on their phone still?
If yes, can you confirm if the oem unlock option exists in developer options?
If oem unlock option exists, then bootloader downgrade is needed which most likely requires factory / engineer firmware which isn't publicly available.
