So guys, I've seen on forum people posting battery results and some get around 6 and some get around 9 hours of screen on time.
Can someone explain how that works? I barely get about 3 hours of screen on time and it just sucks. Some Roms I get 4 hours.
I use greenify, low brightness, plain wallpaper, have disabled many apps i'm not using. I still see drops in battery. I unplug my phone at 100% and drops abt 5-6 % in few minutes.
On Audax Rom and Audax kernel right now. Is there a right combo of ROM and kernel I should use?
If someone could shed some light, that would be great.

so tried finding audax 2.4 but couldn't.
In kernel auditor, I go to CPU voltage and on top right corner click global offset and set it to -25?
also installed app ops...
for that do i go click on an app i want to disable wakelock for and in the app it shows permissions such as read contacts, modify contacts but all the way to the bottom it says keep awake, I just turn that off right?
just wanted to confirm if i'm doing it right or not.
thanks!!
AryaMod 6.0 + Lean Kernel 6.3
(Around 30 bloats freezed + Power save ON)
No Greenify or PowerNap.
Minimum 6 hours SOT. (Half a day in Wifi and 3G in office hours).
I came from CM to TW based ROM and battery is better in TW based.

You Sir are a genius, the two changes except audax made a huge difference and i see the difference now.
Thank you for your reply. and from this search I got to this link, I haven't applied all of it yet but looks promising,
so if anyone is looking for more battery life go here and follow the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...ttery-life-t3095884/post60425051#post60425051
The thing with the battery life is dependant on ROM mainly, as long as you are not undercloking and all those with a custom kernel. When the early batches of Lollipop ROMs were being released I used to get 6-7 hours SoT at an average, I was shocked with the result, as it was at least 25-30% better than KitKat. I hit even 8 hours two or three times. But then with the later LP releases that SoT was dragged down to something like 5 hours! I don't know! Probably Samsung realised that 7 hours SoT is too much and as Note 3 is an old device they probably thought about messing it and force it to lower or something like that? Don't know! I don't even care about battery life any more, I charge my phone twice a day sometimes, but it wouldn't hurt to have 7-8 hours of SoT, I mean when I did have it I sure remember of enjoying it, to a good extent too.
my battery life also poor, i'm on cm 12.1 unofficial and get around 2 and half hours of sot.
As far as I know, TW based ROMs give more SOT (with certain Bloats freezed)

I'm pretty much happy with my Note battery back up.It goes 48 Hrs on a single charge.I have the following running:
1.Wifi/Data full time on
2.Autosync
3.Facebook/Twitter APW updates 15 minutes
4.Live wall paper (Galaxy)
5.Go Launcher
6.~1hr browsing+Youtube
7.Few calls
8.Display mode dynamic(it lasts longer with other modes)
i tried multiple picture wallpaper but the battery went flat in 12 hrs!
also any data monitoring widgets(i tried onavo) consumes a lot
other live wallpapers too
i guess we can post own experience to help get the max out of Note battery without compromising functionality

Even i was using note same as u, 48 hours on Stock ROM.
My display is always the biggest drain, you mustn't be using your phone much, mine normally last about 15-20 hours.between 3-5 hours of screen on time depending on brightness and what I'm doing.
Tap the graph to expand it and then show that screenshot. It tells much more about what has happened.

I am seriously starting to wonder if there isn't some sort of "Hypermiling" to get that battery life number up higher. Many of these 3-5 day numbers are a little unrealistic and give a false sense of what the everyday battery life is for most people. That being said mine seems to only barely make it through a day, though for 8 hours I'm using my bluetooth headphones to listen to audiobooks/music; that's a serious battery drain. I also need to figure out why my battery life has dropped ever since I moved from the stock rom to the various custom builds...
One day and 10 hours, running on EDGE on T-Mobile. Before I plugged it in, it was at 27% with 4 hours and 30 minutes of screen on time.
Good enough for me. I'm running stock GB just with root and CWM.

It's possible. You just don't use the device you paid $650 for and keep it as a nice looking brick on your desk. I can probably pull off 30 days in airplane mode and by keeping it in the freezer.
If I use it as a phone, and use my tab for browsing etc at home I've had it last 4+ days (with email being checked twice a day and a few voice calls here and there.)
If I use it like a tablet AND phone, like I do most of the time, then I get 2/3 days between charges. I don't do much gaming on it though, just use it for Web browsing and email mainly and have the screen brightness on MIN unless I'm out in the bright sun.
I'm on latest stock UK ROM and turn Wifi of whenever I'm not using it.
(having said that when Angry Birds Space came out I needed a re-charge after 1 day! And nearly a divorce lawyer too.)
I'm averaging about 9-10 hours :-/
Stock ROM
As of right now, I am at 52% battery left with screen on at 2 1/2 hours and almost 10 hours off the charger. I am on the stock ROM but rooted. I am happy with the battery life on this phone considering I came from a Samsung Epic 4G and it would have been long dead with 2 1/2 hours of screen time on.

Yeah!, Mine used to last 1 day with 5-6h screen time with 4.3, and with 4.4 + ART, it increased to 8-9 hours screen time!
Well, magnetic cover auto sleep-wake up cases dont work with ART so I wont be using art for quiet a while, despite better performance and longer battery.

You have to enable it under Developer options. You can always revert back to Dalvik if you like. Just bear in mind that the reboot will take significantly longer when you switch

Yeah that first reboot takes forever. It really hammers the CPU too, you can feel the heat around the back camera after it's done. But that's what you get when it's compiling at least 100 apps all at once.
So I'm now on my 3rd charge cycle with getting 3 days and over 10 hours screen on time on each charge. Excellent battery life. It's a shame the other Nexus devices don't have quite such outstanding battery life.
For those who get a over 9h of screen on time , do you have the Sync enabled ?
Are you on the stock rom ? stock kernel ? any tweaks over there ?

I changed to art over a week ago and didn't see any real difference one way or another with battery. I'm getting between 10 and 13 hours screen time with 2 emails syncing every 30 minutes, nothing else synced, I don't use Google + and Wifi always on.
I changed back from art today as I was having some problems installing a couple of apps. They would download but not install. I'll see if there's any difference in battery now.
Battery life is a few hours better, I would recommend using it.
I just got a Nexus 7 this Christmas and kept it on Dalvik for 2 days, then switched over to ART just because I was bored . I decided that I would keep it because all my apps were running very stable and fast, and my battery life was a few hours better.

Works fine with my Poetic Slimline.
Battery life is great so far on ART, no weird app problems for me yet.
I'm experiencing a significant drop in standby time. I get around a day of standby time. This is when the wifi and sync are turned off. I've factory reset my N7 and I'm now on Dalvik to see if it makes a difference.

It does give a little more battery life, but even stock apps behave weird sometimes, very rare but i think ill stay away until ART is stable.
I just noticed that I couldn't switch to ART after rooting my device. Is this a restriction that Google has put in place?

No......you can get 6hrs SoT by leaving screen on but dimmed lol.
But seriously if you can het to about 0-1% drain over night(8hrs) you can get to over 4hrs SoT.
Maybe greenify and amplify can help prevent drainage and stopping wakelocks, but they require rooted phone.
I get around 7h 30 SOT on rooted .185 firmware. Just using a few simple tweaks - Greenify, Amplify, Endurance

I had the same, so that's probably the issue indeed.
I know there are many like this. But some have very basic methods, that may or may not work. Since most/all threads are currently inactive, I thought of creating a new one. MOD: YOU CAN DELETE THIS THREAD IF YOU WISH
So let's start giving this 2 year old phone, a battery life. Every post claiming with tips/tricks should also provide a screenshot of their Screen On Time, and Time on Battery (since unplugged/ full charge)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...crypted-galaxy-s6-battery-life-t3120047/page2
The above is a link to an xda thread, where a person claimed to have some improvements in battery life due to encryption.
There is no tricks or adjustments. there is no way we are in the hands of Samsung for some we expect updates

Wow. That is unreal. How long does it take you to calibrate battery? Do You think Its roms fault that drain my battery so quick? I have a android wear watch connected at all times

I dont use bt and for calibration let the battery discharge to 0 and get the phone shutdown and full charge the battery.
Do this for 3 or 4 cycles and that all i do.
This is with a custom rom, after this first test, I turned off wifi scanning.
and put battery saving from 15 % to turn on at 25%, also, I set the screen to use half the pixels while on battery saving, I'm hoping to reach around 5 hours SoT with around 24 hours of standby.
Should be doable?

this is taken today, i am on stock with last sec patch, bat saver is set down from 15% to 5% but its just for disabling led to turn on, i never use battery saver.
Yeah, about normal SoT, but it depends on what apps you use, what number of them are running in the background etc. To me both of OP and Nikola_zr are pretty much standard SoT and overall battery life.
I was able to get this out of it, I'm quite happy.
As you can see I'm a heavy youtube user, I watch videos while I'm answering messages, or surfing Facebook.

To be fair the app itself isn't really much of an impact, but the screen being on during that app. YouTube won't actually use much because we have a dedicated video decoder hardware.
You would find that 90%+ of that YouTube usage is screen on time while YT was in foreground.

If you're in oreo, this battery life is pretty normal. Why? There's only 4h on screen time, whereas Android oreo has (in this moment) the more enhanced deep sleep, being off-screen almost doesn't take battery life. This is why you got 23h withou charging.
Check out what I think a good battery life is like:

Agreed. Facebook app is a huge baterry drainer (trust me, I had a Zenfone 5, I NEEDED TO BACKUP BATTERY lol). So, since Zenfone I found out that stock Facebook app eat a bunch of battery (even if backgrounding), I started to use Web version and now FBLite wich does pretty much the same as the stock FB app, but almost without draining battery.
Tip: use FBlite and be happy

FB uses a lot on low RAM devices I've found, but on Mi A1 it doesn't seem like too much. If you turn off all notifications and video autoplay, anyway.
I've tried all the alternative FB clients and they're pretty crap compared to official app. None of them remember the news feed position you're at if you go in to comment on something, for example. It always reloads.
