Hello everybody,
I got a question from someone who wants to go back to the stock Samsung ROM.
But how do i do this as TWRP replaced the stock recovery a.k.a. Odin Download Mode?
Can you simply flash the tar through Odin while being in TWRP?
Thanks!

Just load up ODIN, install through there the stock rom, it will replace twrp with stock recovery as well.
Recovery and download mode are 2 complete different things. Just boot in download mode and flash stock rom.

I actually know that they are two different modes.
The reason i'm asking this question is because most online articles refer to "Home + Vol Down" to access TWRP recovery, and this happened to be "Download Mode" before TWRP was flashed onto the device.
Unfortunately i don't have this person's device, so i can't check if this is the case (i forgot how i entered TWRP, haven't used it much)
i want to install the 4.4 ota update, but my recovery has a problem: the recovery works, but the screen shows nothing, so i need screenshots, pictures or the process for installing the update, step by step please.
I'm stuck in the same situation.

I found the solution. first install this recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/elife-e7/orig-development/recovery-t-r-p-2-8-6-t3070779
now you install ths custom rom with it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/eli...e-e7-discovery-elite-porting-project-t3009765
and then you will be able for shutting down the phone and flash the stock rom with gncq.
Thanks for replying. Can you also tell me which stock recovery you flashed.
stock recovery?

sincerely i dont know. i just flashed the stock rom with the instructions that i gave (flash twrp, flash monirom, power off, flash stock rom with gnqc). i think the stock recovery is included in the stock rom file, so i think is the blu life pure xl one (i flashed the blu stock rom, because my phone is one). i thinkif you fash the gionee stock rom, you will be flashing the gionee stock recovery too. you can find the stock rom in android xda (just search "gionee elife e7 stock rom" in google)
I need to remove TWRP recovery from my phone but can't find the 5.0.1 stock recovery. What would be the quickest way to get stock recovery back? I recently upgraded to an S6 so I don't have any of my firmware saved on my pc anymore.
Installing stock rom. I don't know if you can have stock recovery with custom roms.

I don't have a custom rom on my phone. I think I just used TWRP to root it (it was a while back so I can't remember).
Hi everyone,
I am trying to unroot my device to go back to stock firmware. I did that by odin but recovery is still "zenlte"
i also used smart switch resit the device but still the recovery is the custom recovery.
Is there a way to go back to stock recovery?
Hi
so i have made the experience that if i flash the stock firmware from Sammobile, the recovery is going to be the old stock one, but you should make a Backup first. I can't guarantee that it will work.
Maybe you can also only flash the stock recovery .. I've never tried this cause i always wanted to have a rooted phone.
Thanks Lecani
Actually I flashed stock firmware from Sammobile but the recovery is not affected, still custom recovery.
Where can I find stock recovery for S6 edge+ (SM-G928C)?
Thanks

I guess having custom recovery after flashing the stock firmware is impossible. Recovery.img is included in stock firmware as far as i remember. Maybe you can try pick the stock recovery.img from the firmware, make is flashable tar and do that way. I have flashed stock firmware bunch of times and each time recovery came stock unless i flash twrp.

I have rooted my op5 and got twrp recovery but every time I update the rom by flashing it from recovery the recovery goes back to stock. Is it normal? Or is there a way to keep the twrp recovry ever after updating.
You need to flash supersu/magisk after flashing a ROM update to keep TWRP

Yes, and flashing the stock ROM also flashes the stock recovery. Hence TWRP being replaced.
If you want to keep TWRP after a stock ROM flash, just flash the recovery img file right after you flashed the stock ROM.

Or use Flashfire and check the appropriate box.
Use Flashify it's an app in the play store I had the same problem. Flash recovery via that

Yes. I updated mine the exact same way.
But remember, flash them all at once and reboot only after you're done. Rebooting will replace TWRP with stock recovery and you won't be able to flash TWRP in stock.
Flash stock ROM, Magisk or SuperSU and a TWRP.img file, then reboot.
