I see that aoh4 firmware fixed this for me. Do you have aoh3? That one had lag for me.

I have this too.
I'm in the UK on aoh3 and I don't seem to have an update for aoh4 what else did it do?

I had same issue (Edge+ 64GB, Black) and took my device to service center and they told me the motherboard need replacement!!
I refused to repair it and I got a new replacement one but unfortunately has the same issue.
I am really hate this phone.
idk i flashed aoh4 and yes was working really good but today i am having it again, i was checking in some websites and this bug is sufered by a lot of ppl, some ppl say this will be fixed with some update. this no is hardware. i am really sure.
yeah it happens from time to time to me and my brother too.. It won't wake up for few seconds then after a while when pressing buttons it wakes and it laggs havily for few seconds then it goes back to normal. It's obvoiusly a software bug and will probably be fixed in the future.. It also happens pretty rarely so it's not much of an issue.

Hello everyone, I am currently having a problem with my Note 3 from T-Mobile USA (White, 32GB) when the screen all of the sudden becomes unresponsive to finger touches and instead it picks up and selects/taps random objects on my homescreen, browser or whatever window/app I am using, but as soon as I take out the S-Pen it registers it flawlessly. That also happens when the S-Pen is already removed, same scenario, no finger touch response yet it works with the S-Pen. When it happens usually, I am not able scroll, select anything, and the capacitive buttons don't work either unless I lock the device and unlock it. Anyone else is having this problem? I did some research and apparently a lot of Galaxy devices does that.
send it back to the service centre....the s pen is being detected even when it is plug in. the screen is designed to not respond to touch when it detects the tip of the s pen.

Yup. I have the same problem. Used to happen about once a day. Called T-Mobile, talked to tech support (very nice) and they said it likely an incompatibility issue with an app I have. They said even though this is an android device, a lot of times apps have issues working on new devices. I uninstalled the app I had been using when I started noticing the issue (CSR Racing) and I haven't had the problem in days. Then I installed PBA Bowling and got the same glitch last night. Gunna uninstall that game and see if it fixes the problem, if not I'll call back.
I didn't test anything with the S-Pen though.
I noticed that sometimes happens when the WatchOn app crashes. I disabled it and I'll see how it goes.

I'm having the same issue like you too. Exactly the same scenario like what you mentioned.
And I even factory reset twice with stock apps and still have the same problem!
I can't even send a proper SMS when they keyboard type by itself.
Yes! Sometimes it takes an hour to happen, sometimes it happens three times within five minutes. Disabling WatchOn didn't work, and I don't think SwiftKey is the problem since it happens even during browsing on Chrome :/

I posted the same thing a week ago and seems like there are people encountering the same issues.

This sucks.
:good:
Decided to order a replacement. That's ridiculous. I hope they don't send me a beaten up one.

After figuring it out for a while, it seems like it hanged when we "touch" using our finger.
But when I use the S-pen it works. Don't understand why
I found a solution for myself, i had the same problem and realize that putting phone into rice overnight for 7-8h solve problem, you should try.. I've been facing this problem for about 3 months and i tried every solution from every site.
I have the S5 since the day it launches. Everything works fine except for one issue I have been battling with.
Sometimes when I unlock my phone with the home button it just turn on the software keys both sides of the button, but the screen remains off. The phone doesn't seems to respond, by any method. It just stays off until it automatically locks again.
Next time, same process, I use the home button to unlock and it works like nothing happens before.
Has anyone face this issue? Is really anoying. My phone is unrooted and with stock firmware. I just try to restart the phone to its factory state but after a while the issue came back. It's not all the times I unlock the phone, but even it is "sometime" it's frustrating.
Any help with be appreciated.

It's a known problem and it seems that the new hon-kong international update is solving that for the SM-G900F..
Do you have some link that explain that this is a known issue? I haven't found anything yet.
Thanks a lot for your reply

Help!
This is a brand new phone - and when I open the camera app and take a picture, nothing happens at all. I click the button on the bottom right (where it normally takes you to the last picture taken) but it doesn't work!
Eventually it says "processing..." in a pop up, and all the buttons stop working.
Restarting the phone gets the camera working for a bit, but then next time I check it's broken again.
Anyone else with a similar issue?
Any tips?
Factory reset or return the phone

Can you take photos via Voice (You can activate it in the camera settings) ?
But seems for me like a broken phone.

That is because you have turned on the Ambien screen. But I have problems with the proximity sensor and too much time the apps stoped and some things like that

Yeah, I am having similar issue too. My Mi A1 is now getting lagging now. Really disappointed, because its getting worst day by day.
True.. My ambient display is disabled and still i face regular (atleast once a day, sometimes more) freezes.. Only a reboot can recover the device.. Really irritating!
you are right, esp if you try to open within a few second upon whatsapp message arriv

you are right, esp if you try to open within a few second upon whatsapp message arrives (through fingerprint), the screen becomes unresponsive but phone works on background. Happened quite a few times now, somehow I would find approx. where could be the restart button and press for restart, quite strange, don't know what to do?!!!
I experience this issue only once (when I tried enabling Ambient display). With Ambient display off, I didn't have a single freeze or app crash. I reboot phone every few days due to updated Magisk/Xposed modules, maybe it helps a bit..?
Since the November update I am also getting freezes and some lag, which is very disappointing. So you are saying that if I turn of ambient display it will take care of the random freezing?
Cheers
How do I fix this? After updating to Oreo yesterday. My AOD stopped working. I have to restart my phone to make it work and after a few hours it will stop displaying in the screen again.
Anyone experiencing the same issue?
Any workaround for this?

anyone experiencing the same issue?
I had the same issue. I shutdown and restarted the phone and AOD started displaying so far.
I have the same issue. Have not found a solution anywhere yet.
If I restart AOD works for some time(1-2hrs) and stops working again. Very weird
Just wanted to clarify this with you guys, does AOD consume more batt then switch it off? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
It's so irritating that I have to restart my phone everytime AOD stops displaying. I'm a busy person and I find AOD a very useful feature, i dont have to touch my phone to check the time and notifications.
I will do a factory reset later. I will let you know if the problem still exist.

My AOD worked all day after I did a shutdown and restart. However overnight it seemed to stop working, when I woke up this morning it was not working. I rebooted and it did not resume. I shutdown and restarted, it did not seem to work right away but after about thirty minutes is started working again.
i have done factory reset and so fat it is working, no issues.. I guess i'll give it a week and see if it will still have issues.
Just found out the cause of this issue.
AOD stops working after I take screenshots using bixby button. (Yep, I remapped my bixby to take a screenshot via bxActions)
Sad I have to disable it. Actually just the single press, i still use the long press as flashlight and AOD seems to be working fine.

It is always a good idea to do a factory reset after you either do a major OS update (like Nougat to Oreo) or switch carriers to take care of any funky issues like this. It may help you out on this. Just paying it forward.

Same problems with my J5 2017 + AOD Installed separately
So yeah, after installing the oreo update I got yesterday, the AOD stopped working. And yeah, the AOD did not come with my j5, but I wanted it so badly. Now, the only worry is that it doesn't work and cannot install the latest version of that. Please help ?
AOD Problem after update
So i found that my AOD isn't showing after the Oreo Update, so i kept on searching for the cause in my Settings and gladly i found the solution.
Go to your Settings- Lock Screen- AOD Settings - Display Mode, switch to Show always.
It was set on "Tap Display " which requires you to tap your screen then shows for 30 seconds, after the update.
Try it! Hoping that this would help some
