Trying to charge my phone with the turbo charge but it just keeps dropping. Charges for about a second and then drops. Tried several different TB's but still get the same results. Used a regular charger(non TB) and it works fine.
Thinking the phone may have overheated and messed up a sensor or I just got a defective batch...
Is anyone else experiencing this problem with the TB?
EDIT: I've even gone and factory data reset the phone but problem persists.

For some weird reason, I can get a charge from the turbocharger but its not actually turbocharging...not sure what's up.
Edit: Moto has implemented a mechanism to prevent turbocharging if the device is too warm. To be clear I never felt like the device was overheating in any way...just a tad warm due to uploading photos and updating apps all at once.
I'm having similar charging issues as well.
I haven't even pulled the turbo charger out of its plastic bag yet! Despite what some so called "experts" have written, that turbo charging doesn't hurt the battery,...I simply do not believe it! Heat is bad for batteries as well as other electronic components. So in my opinion I will not even use the turbo charger unless absolutely necessary...which I do not see happening the way I use my cell phones. My $0.02
I had the same issue, then, i've changed my data cable and everything works fine, weird i know, but solves my problem.

did you cut the cable? The Moto X Pure 25W Turbo Charger does not have a removable cable from the plug head itself.
Mmm well mine have it...

I never saw that symbol, but it seems as you have the device very hot and it doesn't want to boot until it get a bit cooler... is it hot? ? ?
If don't, check if your battery has a serial number beginning with DD or DB.
If don't, maybe the shock has damaged the processor temperature sensor.

Don't do that (to put near AC), because it can produce water condensation inside the electronic and when you take it to the SAT they will tell you that warranty doesn't cover water falls...
If it does't work in ambient temperature after a while, one of the battery or the processor temperature sensor are broken or dammaged.

I have the white portable charger that came as a gift with my purchase of Note 3 (it's an original Samsung accessory). It used to work just fine, charging quite quickly. However, now, it charges extremely slowly. If I use my phone while charging, it either won't charge or will drain slowly.
I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue (my phone, the battery) or software (ROM/kernel). IIRC, when it worked, I was on Omega ROM. Now I'm on CM11.
Also, I lent my friends the charger and it worked just fine on their smaller phones.
It happened to me too a few times. The phone would charge very slow when plugged into the wall charger.
Then just yesterday i found out that obviously sometimes when i plugged in the wall charger, the phone would recognize it as a usb connection. So therefore it was charging slower. I then had to reconnect the charger and all was fine.
I now installed Battery Widget from the Play Store which shows to what you are connected when charging, AC or USB. And it has a nice charging animation too.
Just sayin', as this might not help you.

Hm, it's only 1.8Ampere.... That's a little weak.
Did you check for any running apps draining the battery whilst using it?
I charge my Note 3 with my aSolar Xstorm 15600mah every night(2.1Ampere). The only times it charged slowly was when I had left an app running (usually 9gag) and/or suffered a wakelock.

I will, looks great, thanks!
Out of curiosity, how did you know about this? There seems to be so many useful utilities out there, how do I explore them all?
Update: Ah.. the battery pack was giving me only 300mA. No wonder.

Change the charging cable.. This probably the real reason why you got only 300mA charging current..
If you are using the charger that came with the phone, I wouldn't be surprised, they are crap. I have seen this problem with my note 3 and two other galaxy s3 in my family. I think that's Samsung wanting to make extra money selling additional chargers.

My wife's moto x pure edition did this the other day. Moto is sending a new one but they were convinced she had dropped it. We did a factory reset at Moto's urging, even though I told him he was crazy and it was clearly hardware, it didn't fix it. Weirdest thing I have ever seen. She plugged it in at night to charge it and then went to bed, woke up and this happened.

This issue needs more attention. It's been happening to me a lot lately. After some hypothesis testing, I came to the conclusion that this happens when the cpu/internal temperature rises.
Doesn't happen if the temperature is under 40 degrees. When things start to get hot you see this display artifacts.
It is like this all the time. Also, we called Moto and did advanced return, it had been a week and we hadn't seen anything or gotten anything and they said sorry we don't have any replacements in stock. We asked how long and they said they didn't know and that maybe by the end of next week. WTF?! They said they won't issue or replace it with a new one so we have to wait. Tried to return it to Amazon but they wouldn't take it since it was 2 days out of their return window.
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
Ha, called Amazon (where we bought the phone) and they made an exception to the return policy and have shipped a new one it will be here Friday. Amazon rules! Moto, not so much.

That's great. Do let me know what buttons to push to get that done. I got mine from amazon as well. I've seen some others on reddit report it too.
We just called the 800 number and explained the situation. I think it helps that we buy a lot and are prime members. Just Google their contact number and call, worst case scenario is that they tell you no and you are in the same spot you are now, so there is nothing to lose but a couple minutes for the call.

I had this problem a couple days ago but it was an isolated incident. On reboot the screen returned to normal and has been fine since. I thought it was the rom that froze but maybe should look into getting a new device as you did.

I just bought my Moto X Style/Pure a week ago. XT1572, brand new so not rooted or anything. Besides the short battery life, what I notice is that the phone gets much hotter than my previous phone (Moto G 1st gen - I know this might be like comparing oranges and apples).
I took a snapshot of battery temperature since I got the phone. How does this compare to your phone? I am a light user, so mostly Gmail, Chrome, Youtube, Spotify, Google Music. I would say using Chrome or watching Youtube bring the phone to around 105F and sometimes above. I just tried 4K recording and the phone got super hot as well (like 120+ F). One thing to note is I am currently living in Southeast Asia so the weather and humidity here might be different. But again, I don't think it matters much if you have air conditioning all the time. I have done factory reset two times and tried to install only essential apps as well as to look for rogue apps with no luck. In safe mode, the phone is cooler by around 4 Fahrenheit. Anyway, hopefully I can figure out if my phone is faulty soon since I have a week left before I am no longer eligible to replace/return it.
Edit: For those of you who don't bother to see the photo, basically the phone fluctuates from 80F (idle) to 100F-102F (normal light activity) to 105F-106F (Chrome & Youtube a while) to sometimes 110F - 114F (excluding charging time).
Yes this phone gets a bit warm but not really hot. Here is mine during an average work day with general use all day long. The temp dip you see around 8-9am was when the phone was in a car mount with vent blowing on it.

41C/105F is no big deal actually... normal usage well turbo charging (which I rarely do) I have seen temps as high as 45C/113F and even 50C/120F although not for long, but have yet to see if there are long term effects.
Try to avoid using the stock charger, or any turbo charger, it will lower temps significantly and use a quality 1.5A+ standard charger... I never exceed 40F when charging with my 1.8A Blackberry Playbook charger and it charges significantly faster than my 1A charger (but still not near as fast as the turbo charger).
Anyone experienced battery drain after september 2019 update or it's just my battery problem?
Works fine for me.
Same thing for me, I've noticed a huge battery drain all of a sudden since August update, forcing me to charge the phone twice a day since it got to the point where the phone was losing like 5% battery every hour in idle... First I thought the battery was dead but simply deactivating LTE does the trick for me.
I suggest you try forcing EDGE and use Wi-Fi instead of LTE, at least it's worked so far.
Haven't put an eye on that. (O_O)
Let me check. Thanks for the advise!
and I thought I was the only one with this problem
I have consistent idle screen-off usage ~0.8% per hour probably ever since I bought the phone. Use battery monitoring app and check if you really have high battery usage with screen off. It will also help you confirm if any action you take is successful or just a placebo.
Edit: It's worth noting, that if you use quite popular Whatsapp on the PC, it will cause higher battery usage of your phone. Not sure how many people realize this.
I replaced battery yesterday because my old one was really bad.I can confirm that after September update i have battery drain.

That's quite normal usage for Bluetooth (especially if you're streaming online music). My Bluetooth streaming uses about 4-6% per hour. Also screen on is perfectly normal.
