I rather recently received this chinese tablet, and unfortunately whilst charging the tablet it stopped powering on and working period, so I took it apart and salvaged the working parts. I am inquiring about the name of the screen connector and the touch surface connector. I have attached images of them both below.
Anyone?
Anyone? please?
Anything written on the back of the screen which may help?

Nope just empy space my best guess would be a C or D sized ribbon cable but im not sure and If I can learn the pin out I can just wire it up to a VGA or the likes the touch screen is another story I also need to know how much power this thing runs on because Im sure ive got the resources to power it.
The main thing is getting the LCD controller: is there some chip or PCB somewhere on (or inside maybe?) the housing of LCD display? If not, you'll find the chip on the tablet's mainboard, and by searching for it's name, you might find a complete controller with VGA/S-Video/Composite/RGB input (something that's supported by controller), and you hook up the display there.
Simpler way, how I'd do it, would be to look up for the datasheet of chip on the Google, and then wire the inputs according to pinout in datasheet.
It might take time to find out how to power it up and how to feed it with image, but in the end it should work - currently I'm working on a same thing, but with LCD taken from portable DVD player with controller in the LCD housing.
It seems to have the controller on the accessory board, I will try to look for the data sheets like you said, thank you so much

Your post is asking for the name of those 2 connectors? They are called flexible ribbon cable, easy to break and imo not really flexible at all, cause they break.
Can't remember how many of those buggers I broke over the years.

Just the information I needed thank you!
Hello,
I broke the screen of my Moto Defy+ (MB526) which I obviously want to replace.
However, here (NL) we only have parts (such as replacement screens etc) for the Moto Defy (MB525) available.
Does anybody know if hardware parts such as screens/digitizers etc. are interchangeable between the MB525 and the MB526?
Thanks in advance,
TY
Although not absolutely certain, but I think they're identical with respect to the touch screen and hence parts should be swappable between models

All the parts are interchangeable (caution with camera and battery) between defy and defy+.
Ignore of your taking about digitizer
I may be wrong but afaik display comes with rev versions so make sure its the same revision(may be written on the display itself

Take care about battery and camera, all other parts are interchangeable, i think.
As far as display and digitizer goes its all the same Ive replaced mine manually with a chinese one. Works fine. Remember your speaker orientation before popping it out. Might not matter but why risk it and it looks identical rotated.

Slight bit of an OT regarding our Defy Screen.
Since you replaced yours with a Chinese replacement LCD, how's the quality of the display? Is it par with the original Defy LCD?
Though i always use the freezer trick to fix dead pixels on my Defy. I'm planning on also replacing my LCD with a Chinese one hoping that it will be more tough on dead pixels..
Thanks.
chipset used in defy+ is little different to that of the defy. Some Parts may cause problem

Sorry been off XDA for ages. Yeah my Digitizer works fine. I didnt change the screen just the touch was cracked and i changed it along with the entire front housing. Works without any issues. I too live in mumbai and i ordered mine from ebay.com
Sorry if this is not the right area for this, but i think it is.
I need to replace the LCD on my USA S4 Google Edition i9505G and have been told by Samsung Canada that there are differences in the LCD between the i9500, i337, i9505 and i9505G.
I can't find on any site anywhere someone explaining exactly what works with what, or if they are in fact all the same LCD/digitizer/screen/frame, and dont want to order the wrong part.
Can someone please confirm with me, either if your replaced the two models yourself or with some links etc that show me they are different or the same?
Thanks.

Its not so much the LCD as it is the frame i've been told. There is one extra piece of hardware in the i9505 version is what Samsung Canada informed me and that means it wont fit when they swap the whole lcd/frame out. I need to know what WILL fit, or if its just something they say for US phones.
I can't confirm or not this information from anyone, and if Samsung was willing to replace the part, I would not be looking online to get it fixed.
LCD panel is the same.
i9505 has LTE anttena in frame.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 600 chipset, while the Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 relies on Samsung's own Exynos 5 Octa chipset
that means that the all the parts are the same except for the backplate of the frame where the screen is glued to.
just replacing the screen is no problem but if you buy a screen with the front part be careful you have exactly the right model version.
because the mainboard has a couple of different chips the backplate has a different layout so the chips have a tight fit to the backplate.
this has to do with the cooling of the chips because they need to touch the backplate for heat absorption.
therefore the mainboard will not snugly fit with a different version and will result in a fully functional phone but alas, the cover wont close.
see picture.
the red rectangles show the difference in layout between i9500 and i9505
But the main question, is the i9505 the same as the i9505g ? Mu LCD screen leaked when i dropped and i need to replace the part, everywhere i asked, they told me that they need to verify if its the same, because on the new screen manual there is nothing about the i9505g.
Where the memory and the bootloader are ? Because if i replace them, ill lose my phone memory and the ability to unlock my bootloader ?

does this mean it is possible to put a i9505 (lte) screen on a i9500 S4?
If you need replace the frame together, it will not be compatible
I am very certain about the compatibility: It is depended on the supporting frame which is plastic housing around the screen.
If you want to replace the frame with lcd screen together, then the Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500 is not compatible with i9505. Because the frame structure is not the same between i9500 and i9505. You can see the letter 'i9500' or 'i9505' on the frame clearly.
However, if you want to change the screen WITHOUT the frame, then the screen will be totally the same ! The touch glass and lcd display both are the same for i9505 and i9500.
In a word, the difference between Samsung galaxy s4 i9505 and Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500 LCD Screen is only the frame. So, it is your choice to choose replace the screen only or replace the screen with frame together.
By the way, there are other models for Samsung Galaxy S4, here is the compatibility:
The lcd screen digitizer for Galaxy S4 (Without frame) will compatible with S4 all models - i9500,i9505,i545,L720,R970,i337,M919
The LCD Screen digitizer With Frame:
i9500 (with frame, not compatible with other models)
i9505 (with frame, not compatible with other models)
i545 (with frame, compatible with L720,R970)
i337(with frame, compatible with M919)
Dropped my i9505g as well, cracking the screen. Did anyone with a i9505g order a i9505 replacement screen/frame? Did it work?
OK. Learned the hard way, so I'll share here. The i9505 frame IS NOT compatible with the i9505g. The motherboard does not line up with the frame in one important area. When taking apart my i9505g, I discovered the frame has i337 markings, and after comparing to pictures online, it appears the i337 should work. I'm ordering it and returning the i9505 frame I ordered.
Lesson learned: Tear your device down before ordering parts if you're not sure.

I sent mine to the technician and he swapped the screen. It's working fine. It's the g version yet. I think you maybe saw it wrong... I didn't post anything besides I had no response I'm the thread, I didn't thought anyone would have it..
The model number on the stock frame when I opened it is i337. There is no i9505g model frame.

Ok. I got the i337 frame and LCD in and I can confirm with 100% certainty that if you need to replace the frame on your S4 Google Play Edition, you need the i337 frame. NOT the i9505 or i9500 frame.
It's good to have my phone up and running again. And now I have a Black Mist S4 Google Play Edition. :victory:
Do you remember which specific part of the motherboard didnt fit? I'm looking at getting a i9505 black edition screen with back panel for my m919 (i337) motherboard. In comparing my motherboard to photos online it looks like the top right part of the motherboard by the headphone jack behind where the black screw goes there is a small chip for the antenna there, on the i9505 the chip is on the opposite side of the motherboard's "arm" i337 = outside edge of "arm", i9505 = inside edge of "arm". I believe just a small amount of dremel work will allow that chip to fit and the motherboard will be flush. Is this the same spot that was troublesome for you?

I don't think it will. If you can't find an m919, an i337 should also work. If you want to try to order a i9505/i9500 and modify it, you can try. I think I remember seeing a chip on the upper right on the 9505/9500 that wouldn't seat right. Also, once you modify it, if it doesn't work, good luck returning it.
But my understanding is the m919 and i337 are interchangeable.
Sorry for the late reply . I haven't been on much as of late.

There are a little difference between those editions. But don't worry. I know a reliable supplier which offers your editions. For more info you can visit their website and contact the customer service. Here is the site: hcqs.com.cn.
I have a trusty old N900P on which the front glass has cracked and screen is no longer functional, but the unit appears to turn on and boot (i can connect to a pc and it's recognised).
Now I dont want to install an after market screen (the quality and touch is never the same) so was thinking about buying a new unit. I can get a n9005 delivered fairly quickly, but I was hoping I could transplant my old board into the new phone assembly and it would work? what do you think? From what I can see the everything (layout & connectors etc) looks identical internally.
Thanks

Hi guys,
We have a bunch(200) of Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (wifi) running Marshmallow on firmware: MMB29K.T580UEU1APF5.
About 10% of the tablets have been starting to make this trouble after 3-6 months of installation.
Actually it seems pretty random and they are installed in different buildings.
They all have twrp installed, rooted and running xposed framework.
This is a really big concern for us.
I would like to know if anybody had this problem in the past.
I linked a video in attchment.
EDIT: Here is the video of it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54DCZt9i49M&feature=youtu.be
Thanks in advance
David
Edit guys i uploaded the video on a youtube channel.
We noticed that once this problem occured, sometimes the flicker stops, but there are white lines where white text is present in the interface.
I will upload an other video showing the lines being permanent on the screen after the flicker problem occurs.
We sent 4 of them to samsung and they told us that the motherboard needed to be changed and that the screen/display had no problem.
We did change the board on one of the unit and the problem is still there.
I saw a couple of post reporting this problem, it would be fun to know what is causing this problem.
We are currently suspecting the TWRP recovery, so we reflashed the stock recovery.img on the units that are not having the problem at the moment and hope this will not happen again.
Thanks in advance for your help
Here is the other video I was talking bout:
https://youtu.be/OonoNfWT5ZE
I joined a picture of my tablet when I put it in download mode, the ghosting is pretty intense on that one.
When I swipe the ghosting is less intense because it changes the background color.
We have been using samsung tablets for the last 6 years and this is the first model of tablet that does this.
I think Samsung cheaped out the quality of their screen and when they stay on the same page for a long period of time it seems to ghost very easily on this model.
Here are the tablets we used in the past and had no screen problem yet:
Samsung galaxy Tab 2 10.1 PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Samsung galaxy Tab 4 10.1 TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Samsung galaxy Tab A 9.7 TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Samsung galaxy Tab A 10.1 PLS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors (The one we are using right now having the problem)
Is it the PLS LCD being cheaper then the other screen we used in the past?
This is the LCD problem, not mainboard. Since you have a bunch of them, it's very easy to verify by swapping mainboard and LCD.
Use a working LCD to verify mainboard.
Use a working mainboard to verify LCD. In your case, swapping a working mainboard and the vertical lines are the same as old mainboard, you know this is a defective LCD. It takes only 5 minutes to swapping mainboard.

Yes this is what we did and in fact the LCD is the problem.
We send 4 of them to Samsung, and they told us it was the mainboard.. which is clearly a lie.
But since the tablets have been rooted they don't want to repair the units on their own charge, which we were awared of.
They were asking 200$ to repair the unit ... which is almost the price of the tablet.
I really think that this lcd is very cheap and that we will need to close the screens every day during a certain period of time to avoid this problem on this generation.
But this should not happen..
Have any advice?
thank you
This whole LCD assembly is only around $61 from AliExpress
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/For...29-42b1-8329-e12874b332ad&transAbTest=ae803_5
Cheaper if you know how to remove the LCD frame and reuse the home button, this one is only around $42
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New...29-42b1-8329-e12874b332ad&transAbTest=ae803_5
It takes me only under 15 minutes or less to change the LCD assembly. This is OEM part as Samsung orders parts from China, don't worry about fake parts as all Samsung parts are from China

Samsung policy is they don't fix rooted tablet ( Knox count is more the 1 ) unless you agree to change the mainboard . It's a no point to me, flash back the official firmware, root will be gone but the Knox count won't go back to zero.
You should change LCD or setting the screen off after 30 minutes to prevent damages due to permanent ON.
LCD is only around $60, why pay $200 to change it. They properly change both LCD and mainboard. Rooted tablet won't have display issue unless you use custom ROM.
