Ubuntu for Android

So Canonical got something new, Ubuntu for Android. What is does is run Ubuntu native on your Android device by using the same Linux kernel as Android does.
http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/android
On this page they say ''Of course, your phone needs the docking capability and hardware support for HDMI and USB''
Would that mean it would not be possible on our DHD? I know there is another project running Ubuntu on our phone, but this project of Canonical is meant that you don't need an seperated computer anymore.
Instead your phone is both used as smartphone and as desktop. I have no idea how far it will go in capabilities, but our DHD is also quite powerful, it just doesnt have an dual core.

Xda tv about ubuntu for Android.
It would be cool btw if we just needed buy an dock and put it in and then use it as our desktop, because when my notebook broke I needed buy an new one.
I think in future we won't even need a separated computer anymore, because we can dock our phone then to be a computer if it got that feature.
this would be really nice. especially if we could acess the desktop from the phone itself also, and run all the linux apps nativly.
Using a dock for the mobile phone is only one option to get the full desktop experience. But other scenarios are also possible.Think of the Asus Transformer that can be docked with a keyboard, this could be a full Notebook replacement. The same is for all the other tablets out there where you can attach a bluetooth mouse and keyboard.

Using Xperia Z2 Tablet as a Secondary display for Windows

How to use your Tablet Z2 or any other android tablet or phone as a secondary display with Windows 7, 8 or 10 (Duplicate or Extend Screen)Recently my tablet screen got cracked which left me heart broken :crying: . So I decided to use it as a secondary display for my laptop.
It can be done by two ways 1) Using WiFi 2) Using USB Cable
1) Download Kinoni Remote Desktop app for both laptop and your device and connect them both to the same Wifi Network (Internet not required). Simply connect and you will be able to mirror your desktop screen on your device.
2) Download TwomonUSB for both of your devices. Install ADB drivers and on your laptop and remember to turn on USB Debugging Mod on your Android device. Now just open the app after connecting the USB cable and enjoy both mirroring and Extended display on your Android Device.
This method will work on Windows 7, 8 and 10. I have made a video running windows 10 on my Tablet Z2 with Extended display
Very interesting, thanks for the tips..

Tv box rom for i9505

Hello, im wondering if anyone can point me in a direction of what I would like to do.
I have a Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 with broken touch which is currently set up with custom rom and root and various apks, pkugged in to my tv in the bedroom via mhl. This works extremely well as is a quad core phone I get much better performance than I do with the Amazon fire stick.
Now the apps ive used along with the custom rom basically put the screen to sleep and allow me to watch Netflix/Kodi very well, without any battery drain.
Im using various apps to control this and alter screen orientation when needed, using a fire tv Bluetooth controller.
Now this set up doesnt come without problems, which ill not go into in length but point out the main issues id either like to be fixed or gone with a different rom.
First, is there any android tv box/stick rom that is compatable with i9505? Even like a fire tv port or similar?
If not is there any way I can get the TV type apps to recognise fully the Bluetooth fire tv remote im using?
Is there anyway to make the apps im using run as if they were on an android tv box/stick?
I realise this is quite a strange setup/request but id like to know if anyone has any ideas on the topic.
1 thing to know, the rom im using has power options to draw more ma while plugged into mhl (700ma), this stops the battery drain.
Thanks for any pointers/advice in advance.

Android auto on rpi

Hello
I have a car with Android auto. I wanted to put Android auto but I do not have an android phone. I wanted to know if I could install Android on the Raspeberry, install the Android auto app on it. To then use it in my car by putting a usb in the interface for the connection and a usb in the cigarette lighter for the rpi power supply? The question is mostly, will it work?
Thx
Android on a Pi is kind of useless, slow and buggy.

Lenovo YB1-X90LAndroid 7.1.1 connect to wireless screen tv

Lenovo YB1-X90L
Android 7.1.1
Good evening, I have a question that might seem trivial but I don't think it is.
I have a Hisense screen with the "screen sharing" input option.
Basically I first select this signal source from the TV and then from the Windows computer I connect to the wireless display.
I would like to do the same from android but I don't know which is the simplest and correct way to go
