I need to limit amount of video YouTube quickly buffers. I have high speed volume based internet connection at home. Say for example if I start a 30 min video, by the time I have watched 5 min, all video will have been downloaded. Family members keep surfing long youtube videos, watch 5 min and switch to another and that is costing me huge volume of video data download. I wish there is setting in youtube app not to buffer more than say 5 min or say 50 MB. Any suggestion for me?
QoS in my aging router is not feature rich and I do not want to go this route.

Whenever I watch videos online or YouTube, the videos do not play smoothly. About every 7-10 seconds it will freeze for a second or 2 then pick up 2 seconds later. It is incredibly annoying and pretty much makes my NS useless for watching videos. Is this a common issue with the NS? Should I try to get a new one through warranty or do all NS have this problem. (Internet speed not the problem)
No problem here with YouTube over W-LAN and mobile connection.
Did the video preload fully or are these "lags" due buffering?
It is a video of the set up and overview on the software. It's not a full review, since I have not had it all the way yet to review nor is the service finished.
Not sure if you guys would find this useful or not. BTW, skip to 50 seconds I had no idea i was talking that long before the video started... I just like talking..

I started the video at around 9 yesterday and I've had my computer on all day since then and it is 2,500 songs done thus far. Just to give you guys an idea of time it takes to get your video uploaded.
This is going to kill my bandwidth allowance.
Just got Nexus 7, updated to 4.1.1
I'm having an issue with the stock Youtube app. I watch a video and 5-6 minutes in, Youtube would just stop streaming the video. When I try to go back a page, Youtube hangs and crashes.
This happens with all videos and 5-6 minutes into the video. I can fast forward/rewind in the video, but the video stops after 5-6 minutes and youtube crashes after that.
Also another problem, sometimes when I click to watch a video, the video won't stream at all and will just have the circular loading screen.
Does anybody have similar issues?
I'm having the same issue. After I go to System -> Apps -> YouTube and clear the cache it works fine for a few mins but then goes back to this behavior. Any thoughts?

I have much better luck (and prefer) watching YouTube through the Chrome browser. No problems like you describe.
Having the same issue. I wonder, how many people have the same problem? If not so many, could it be related to:
-subscription?
-hardware?
-wifi-stength?
Any updates or solutions for this problem?
I've had this problem for a long time, although for me it usually occurs 1-2 minutes into the video instead of 5-6 minutes. Also it happens around 80% of the time i play a video, not everytime.
I'm stock and rooted.
I'm trying to record a video over 1 minute long on 1080p and it won't go past 1 minute...it keeps saying maximum reached.
Is there any way around this cap?? I don't see anything pertinent in the video settings.
TIA!
Maybe are you running out of free memory? where are you saving it?
I have a stock rooted 6p on 6.0.1. and when watching videos, weather YouTube, downloaded videos on VLC, or Netflix, at random points in the video, it will either completely restart or jump back in time. So like on a 30 min video, it may play 18 fine, then jump to the 4 min mark and keep playing. Very annoying when you have to find where you were all the time. If I take the video back to the 18 min mark, it might play all of it or it may go to 19 or 20 and then blip to the 12 min mark. I can find no rhyme or reason, and across multiple programs. It did this before I rooted, on 7.1.1.
Any one have any ideas?
