Hi,
I installed an anti-theft tracking app on my phone but I can't disable the "airplane mode, sound, reboot, shutdown" menu (that appears when you long-press the power button) and the volume rocker, when the device is locked but the screen is on... so anyone can just shutdown my phone or mute the ringtone or put it in airplane mode and that makes the tracking app useless.
I tried using "Smart lockscreen protector" by nez droid but it doesn't work.
Is there a way to disable these "features"?
Thanks
Edit:
I have root and bootloader unlocked if this helps

When I lockmy phone, either with slide2unlock or the actual lock button on today screen, it locks all buttons except the power button. Then I am working listening to mp3's and I accidentally hit power button, it turns off screen, not phone entirely. When it does that that kills my music, then I have to hit power real quick to turn back on, anyway to disable power button? Also even with keys locked, it still wil go in airplane mode if end buttone held down, but this only happens when using slide2unlock, got any ideas?
So to recaqp, want to disable power button.
Want airplanemode to not happen while using slide2unlock, thanks for any help
for plane mode you can use this reg key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/PhoneExtendFunction/CDMA/
set FlightModeSwitchByPnHEndKey to 0
it will prevent the phone from entering plane mode by holding the end call button
cant help with the power button, on mine sometimes it will go to sleep and keep playing, other times it will stop, i havent noticed a pattern yet
wow, thanks. been looking for this forever. it appears a soft reset is required after the reistry change, at least for me.
Is there any way to disable the Volume rocker key? It stays active even when the phone is locked so when in my pocket, it often reduces the volume or even puts it off compleatly. Is there a Reg hack to disable it compleatly as the volume can be set via the settings menue.
Regards, Woolly.
This does not happen on my phone.
Anyone else have this problem?
When the phone is put to "sleep" (pressing the on/off button) ,locked or not, all buttons are disabled. The phone will only wake up (all buttons and soft keys enabled) when there is an incoming call or message or when you press the on/off button again. If it's in your pocket during the wake up, that's where the volume button could be pressed by whatever.
That's how it works on mine.
^^+1
The only time the volume buttons are working while phone is sleeping is when I'm listening to music via headset... Otherwise, it works the same as azahidi's...
You can use AE Button Plus ( http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php ), I assigned another functions to volume buttons with it and lot of other functions to rest of my buttons. It is $7.99.
You can also use S2U2 ( http://www.ac-s2.com/ ) for locking the phone. It is free.
Hi everyone,
A quick question, is there a way to disable to volume rocker switch to prevent Streak from turning on accidentally?
Thanks,
Tom.
The volume rocker does not turn the phone on.
It will if you have "No Lock" or similar installed and activated, but that's a "feature" of the no lock software not a fault of the volume rocker.
Some replacement lock screen apps allow unlocking with other keys (some can't prevent it). Are you using the stock lock screen? What ROM? Any lock screen related apps installed?
Oh yes, 'No Lock' app is the cause. Remove it and it's fine now, thanks!
Is this a feature or is my phone being buggy?for some reason when I turn the screen on, on different occasions, the phone does a quick buzz. And I'm not pressing the volume button or simultaneously getting a notification
Nevermind, figured it out. Under Gestures the Smart Alert option was turned on by default
I freezed this launcher with EZ disabler before I turned ultra power saving mode on
now my phone won't start at all....:crying::crying:
I did the same thing lol.
Turn off your phone by holding the lock, home and both volume buttons.
Once it turns off, turn it back on by holding the lock button and volume up button - if done correctly you will be greated by a recovery screen, from there, restore your device and start from scratch.
