Hi there,
I am wondering if I can change the basebands/modem from my D801 T mobile G2 to work with the international D802 basebands since I am moving to germany. Can we just flash a new modem to get different LTE bands since it's a S800, as qualcomm said the first world LTE processor?
thanks a lot

Not that i'm aware of. Check the tmo bands and see if they are compatible with the common german carriers. Otherwise I would just sell your G2 on swappa and purchase another.
that is what i will end up doing if necessary, can someone confirm this is not possible at all? thanks!

It's not possible to change the bands a phone operates under. Here are the bands the different versions use (taken from Wikipedia) so you can check if the 801 will work with whichever carrier you're planing on going with.
AT&T - D800
GSM 850/900/1800/1900UMTS 850/1900/2100LTE 1900(2)/1700(4)/850(5)/700(17)
Sprint - LS980
GSM 850/1900CDMA 800/850/1900UMTS 850/1900LTE 1900(25)/800(26)/2500(41)
T-Mobile - D801
GSM 850/900/1800/1900UMTS 850/1700/1900/2100LTE 1900(2)/1700(4)/700(17)
Verizon - VS980
GSM 850/900/1800/1900CDMA 850/1900UMTS 850/900/1900/2100LTE 1700(4)/700(13)
Global version - D802
GSM 850/900/1800/1900UMTS 850/900/1900/2100LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600
Canadian version - D803
GSM 850/900/1800/1900UMTS 850/1900/2100LTE 700,AWS(1700?),2600
Ok thank you, question solved! thanks
I have a D802 Hong Kong version. In the secret menu (3845#*802#) i have found this: LGD802AT-00-V10C-HKG-XX-NOV-30-2013
Now, I would like to use the 4g connection in my country (Italy, carrier TIM) but the 4g option is not avaible in "network mode". After a test with another G2 (italian version and same carrier), I can say that the connection don't switch automatically on 4g but keeps the H+ one. So i think is necessary a modification.
Solutions?
Is it necessary to flash an europe radio? or something else? I'd like to keep the stock rom Lg but is not a fundamental.
Baseband: M8974A - AAAANAZM - 1.0.190036
Kernel: 3.4.0
Build: JDQ39B
I have the g2 for two days. I know it very little. I do not have much knowledge about it. Some good soul can explain to me how to do?
I need your help!
Did you verify that the device has the correct radio bands for the lte on that carrier?

I don't know how to check! On the box of g2: gsm 850/900/1800/1900; wcdma 850/900/1900/2100; LTE 2100(B1)/1800(B3)/2600(B7)/900(B8)/800(B20).
My carrier is Tim but i don't kwow which band uses.
In secret menu/LTE Band section: avaible band 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,17,20,40. No one is selected.
Can i flash V10E firmware for Italy on V10C firmware for honk kong (actually on my device)?
Flashing different firmware wont help. Its either your apn is wrong or you didnt enable lte correctly. I checked and TIM uses 1800 (band 3) lte which your phone should work with.

maybe i should enable "band 3" in LTE setting in secret menu.
Hi,
I've a similar question and I hope someone could help me: I've a G2 phone using the D80210e-ESA-XX firmware.
In the product specifications, supported LTE frequency bands are 900/1800/2100/2600/850. I know that in Italy working frequency bands are 800/1800/2600. Now, my phone does not support 800 MHz: do you think is possible to upload a different firmware (IT or EUR ones) on my phone? With one of these firmware, does the device will work at 800 MHz?
Thank you so much.
I also had the D802 with Korean firmware!
Even though the phone itself supports LTE the Korean firmware doesn't!
I flashed the EU version and everything worked fine afterwards!!!

Hi @zacharias99, are you using the LTE in Italy?
@sunshonic, I didn't understand if your LTE works in Italy using the secret menu. Is it working?
Thank you

No no i am using the LTE in Greece!!!
But LTE is LOCKED in Korean firmware!!!
In older Korean Firmware you could activate LTE from secret menu but in newer version this option has been removed!
The only solution in my case was to flash a european (or in your case italian) Firmware and everything worked like it should

@popsi, @zacharias99 did you follow a specific procedure to upload the european firmware. I'm not so sure to perform it cause some month ago I've bricked an old Motorola (I don't remember the exact model) using simply a firmware of a different country. The result was a brick cause two firmware did not use the same way to allocate the memory...

My friend i don't really know where in this forum the instructions for flashing a new stock firmware are... (I am also new in this community)
And i flashed it with Greek instructions so my link won't help you and i don't want to post some link i haven't tested by myself...
Sorry i hope you can understand!
At moment i have no time, but if I would be you I would search in the G2 Section for instructions!
They must definitely be somewhere!
Did you subscribe for LTE with your carrier?

@zacharias99, I've checked that 4G can be enabled using the secret menu
1. Go to LTE-Only
2. Modem Settings
3. RAT Selection
4. Select GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto
as in the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494751
At the moment it doesn't seem to work for me, probably because my sim still has not been enabled for 4g.
Have you ever enabled this option (with the previous korean firmware, I mean)?
@zacharias99, @popsi: the new european firmware allows to navigate over the 800MHz frequency band for you?
Thank you

Hi,
the procedure using the secret menu definitively works on my D80210e-ESA-XX, but I need to re-select it after every reboot.
Does anybody know how to make it permanent or how to automate this selection on boot (maybe using Tasker or something similar)?

I have an international G2 D802.. We, in india have certain operators in Band 40 LTE.. Is it possible to activate Band 40 in D802 by flashing D802T kdz in D802??? Kindly Help..
My phone has 4G LTE enabled.
it was unlocked lg g2 d802 which i bought from amazon from california.
But it came with a rom with many taiwan apps preinstalled and model when i last checked was only D802 ,not D802T.
I checked on my cover and find it 4G lte enabled and also it has label on back with 4g lte.
I flashed many roms and returned to stock lg firmware.
I downloaded D802 firware and i have no 4G LTE option from network settings, just 3g only..
My question is,Does LG G2 with 4G LTE has a specific model no D802T.?
Is there a d802 firmware which gives me 4g lte option..?
Hi guys,
I've researched a little bit with no positive results, and have a question: is there any what to add/enable/unlock bands for D800 and D801 versions?
My main device is the D800 (tried with CloudyG3, CloudyStock and now a D802 rom with D800 kernel) and recently bought a LTE plan in my country (carrier uses 3G 2100MHz and LTE 3), so my first question is: does it exists any way to enable LTE band 3 for AT&T D800? I've tried with 3845#*800 > LTE-Only > Modem Settings > LTE Band Selection and tapping Band 3, but there is no SUCCESS popup. Confirmed device is LTE/GSM/WCDMA enabled with *#*#4636#*#*
Now, tried with D801 (running stock 4.4.2 TMO D80120g) and I've no data at all, not even 2G data. I've wiped the device, replaced SIM, deleted/created APN, tried enabling same band with hidden menu and received SUCCESS popup but no results as well. Also tried 3845#*801 > WCDMA-Only > Modem Settings > Network Mode > tapping WCDMA 2100 or Automatic.
Summarising, can I add/enable LTE band 3 on D800 and WCDMA/UMTS 2100MHz to D801?

Hello. I currently reside in Pakistan and I'm using LS-980. I'm using the GSM Sim. Although I'm able to use H+ with max speeds of 11mpbs, but I can't get LTE working. My SIM Card does support LTE, but in my phone it isn't working. Please help me out. Thanks in advance. And I'm using CloudyG2 2.2, the one which uses G3 rom as a base.
Ls980 have different bands (LTE SPRINT). Use it 3G.
