[Script] Back-to-N0t3 Rom Debloater - Galaxy S6 General

Dear comrades of XDA,
I'm proud to introduce you my debloater script for @arter97 's Note 5 porting, Back-to-N0t3!
I spent about an entire day trying to understand the purpose of each apk in the rom and after some problems i finished the script!
Compatible with Back-to-N0t3 V5 and V6 (tested on them) but should work also on previously versions.
This script mantain the Ultra Power Saving Mode and the Allshare Cast apps. If you want I'll lately upload a version without them!

Just remove the lines of the app's that you want to keep

What happens if I flash this having some apps in script list already removed? Most interestingly what happens with frozen apps?
Thanks for this!
Edit: just wanted to add my opinion on requests for this script: like someone already pointed out it's easy enough editing out some lines. I really think it should stay on the extreme side. Want to keep one app? Do it yourself.

If apps are already removed then nothing will happen. Frozen apps will be deleted because the script will see them in app/priv-app folder.

As expected then. Great work! Ty

Thanks a lot for this script. Yes, S-Planner and Clock are needed, I'll wait for the updated zip.
One more thing, isn't/wasn't "Velvet" related to play store somehow? If not, what is it for?

Can you please show us a simple how-to? And more important, how to re-create the zip file back after deleting the needed entries?

Velvet.apk is Google Now. I know a lot of you use it very often BUT i thought that the best thing is to download it by Play Store in case you need it.
To modify it, you can open the update-script contained in the META folder with a text editor (Notepad++ is the best option) and delete the lines related to the app you don't want to be released. If you need more help, contact me via PM.

So can I Just unzip the files, open updater-script with notepad, delete the APK's I want to keep there, then rezip the folder with 7zip or something to customize what gets deleted?

Because with Xposed you can activate other parts of the donation features. Also you need it if you want to Greenify System Apps that are not User accessible (like Bluetooth Share, com.android.smspush etc.), which means you can't access them with out Xposed, but you don't need Posed for apps like Google Play, Settings, Calendar etc.

(Script) Galaxy Cleaner Lollipop DeBloater

WELCOME TO GALAXY CLEANER A GALAXY MOD's SPECIAL
Hello everybody welcome to Galaxy Cleaner formally Ultra Kleaner. Many of you have probably used my de-bloater zips for HTC devices and the Galaxy S4's before. So now I bring you a lollipop All Galaxy model's version's' galaxy cleaner will remove load's of bloatware from your device. Cleaner devices operate more efficiently and use less ram. By freeing up space in the system we also speed up operation's. I have spent a considerable amount of time downloading roms for each galaxy device to find your bloatware. If and I'm sure I did I missed something please report the apps and or libs you find to be bloat. Free up over 400mbs of space.
Google apps in system:
I have removed most of Google's app from the systems folders, not all of them. I left what has been known to create issues alone, all main google apps still reside in system area's. If your missing one you want, get from playstore.
Your carrier bloatware:
While I have tried to rifle through and pick them out, some I don't know about may still exist.
How to report bloat for removal:
Lollipop requires a slightly different method for removal. When reporting an app for removal follow this simple guideline for report.
Report system location and folder only such as (system/app/BasicDreams) The folder name not the apk name.
Below is full list of what's being removed. It is your responsibility to add a #in front of,or remove the lines of apps you want to keep.
Make a backup!Make a backup!Make a backup!Make a backup!

Hi, @blaz1nr and thank you for this. (More importantly, thank you for your military service!)
Shall I ask around for a list of Sprint apps to add? Connection optimizer, Sprint Zone, all those come to mind.

Yes that would be awesome, I have yet to cover sprint,I should take care of that asap. Thanks for using my script.

No knox is being removed,so no worries about knox counter. I am looking at what's safe to remove in all the variants with tripping the counter.

Thanks. Flashed with flashfire and all is good.
Froze the remaining crap via titanium backup. (S health, planner, music, smart manager etc.)
If they freeze without issues does that make them safe to delete?
Trying to avoid tripping knox for as long as possible. Last android was a nexus 4 so I didnt have to worry about things like this.
Shame the nexus 6 was so huge or I would of been all over it.

Most all the Samsung stuff can be froze or removed. I didnt remove all of it because alot of people keep them. For the most part if you can freeze without issues, its safe to remove.

I will surely be using this when my S6 arrives tommorow. I can't stand having a bunch of apps that I have no use for. Thanks!
Thank you for this, makes things much more easier to debloat!

Hi I have the SM-G9250F model and have removed some bloat already. Will this affect anything if this script is trying to remove the same bloat that I have already removed? Thanks.

Nah, You'll be right. It's just deleting folders.
I'm in the process of making an ultra debloater at the moment.
Just done a fresh install of COGA on my 920i and extracted a list of all installed packages.
Installed XtreStoLite 2.2 ROM and the addons I know that cause problems if not installed and extracted another list of all packages installed.
Found the differences between the two and deleted them
Will test a bit then maybe upload later if anyone is interested. (note, mine will trip knox due to removing knox as it goes)
Deleted 196 packages so far.

Kinda moved from that to making my own rom lol. Currently on coh4 deodexed, debloated and running xposed and unikernel 7
Original debloat script works fine. Lot of unneeded lines in it from some copy, paste, search, replace action lol.
I can clean it up and send you a copy if you really want. Just Pm me.

Touchwiz bloatware save to remove list

Two lists. Apps which are safe to disable. And apps which had issues when disabled please add issue description.
Apps that had issues when disabled (EDIT 2016-04-06):
com.osp.app.signin (Could not download additional camera modes without this one)
com.android.externalstorage (Could not submit external sd card permissions to external application
com.sec.android.ofviewer (Camera selective focus mode edition does not work without this one)
com.facebook.system (Oculus apps downloaded but failed to install without this one)
com.samsung.android.hmt.vrsvc (Samsung gear VR Service. Oculus does not start without this one)
com.android.nfc (Clear view cover case functionality was not working without this. I believe neither any NFC functionality. Strange that package Disabler suggests disabling this as bloatware)
com.android.documentsui (In case to you can allow access for app (SD Maind) you have to allow this package as well. Thanks to robie_cz)
Currently disabled apps list as it is early version it "couldn't be called safe to disable list" (EDIT 2016-03-11):

Apps can be disabled by Package Disabler Pro (Samsung)
vukis said:
Hi. I came from aosp Nexus 5 and new purchase horrified with tons of bloatware. I quickly found package disabler thanks to other Samsung threads and disabled all people ones. But there are still many of them left.
What senior Samsung users can advise? What is your safe to disable touch wiz apps? l

Not got my GS7 until tomorrow but here is my list of Frozen/Uninstalled apps from my GS5. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qjifb8lcjw7e5br/Apps%20removed%20from%20S5%20Lolipop.xlsx?dl=0
Obviously I cannot be held responsible if you screw up your lovely shiny new phone but I hope this helps anyhoo!
I'll update once I get my GS7 . Cheers :good:
@vukis: Are u using the free package disabler app, or the pro version? Reason why I'm asking is because I only see the Pro version in Play Store, there is no free version. So I bought the Pro version, but when I start it, the activation process somehow triggers the Samsung Knox KLMS agent, which asks me to accept some Samsung Ts&Cs. Of course I aborted this, but then I get an activation error from package disabler pro.
Requested a refund for now...

Hi. I am using pro. I accepted that Knox stuff as I am not seeing any risk for that
Ok, that means you had that Knox stuff popping up, too.
It's not a risk, but since Knox is one of the things you usually want to DISABLE using a tool like this, I like to understand why this pops up here, especially because this seems to be new on S7, because I didn't find any mentioning of this in the whole WWW.
Maybe there is a support thread for this app anywhere here, then I would post that question there.
could someone post list of default enabled/unhidden packages ?

I've emailed the developer asking about this. Of particular concern to me is the part which says 'you also understand and agree to the mechanism that routes network traffic data through a proxy server or vpn'. Does this refer to Samsung servers or servers owned by the Apps author? Either way, it looks like there's potential for spying on data from a phone.
I'll let you know if I get a reply.

The developer responded very quickly. Here's what he has to say ...
Hi,
This application work without Root permission, so it need some special permissions to run (Device administrator and Samsung Knox SDK)
In Samsung device, if you want to disable samsung apps, you need agree (accept) the "KLMS Agent" to use Knox SDK. KNOX sdk provide Api (functions) to disable samsung apps.
It"s normally
Thanks
Has anybody disabled stock touchwiz (both touchwiz easy home and touchwiz easy)? Any negative results impact? Any positive results/positive impact on battery life? Also wondering the same for Knox. Can I disable all the Knox stuff? Will it make a difference for my battery life? Has anyone disabled any of these things safely? Looking forward to any helpful responses!

Yes, both Touchwiz's with no impact going back a few devices where they were uninstalled via Titanium.
So just for the sake of sanity.. I wanted to see if the Package Debloater Pro on the Play store was as good as the Debloater by Gatesjunior"

Yesterday I updated this post including some apps which should not bet disabled if you want to use Oculus store.
Oculus detected, that I had problems on VR apps instalation / update. And even without reporting them anything they sent me this letter:
Oculus Support said:
Hello!
After the most recent Gear VR update, we noticed that you may be having issues upgrading to the latest version of the Oculus software. This also may affect your ability to download and install content for your Gear VR. This may be due to having some critical Oculus services blocked or disabled. Below are some steps to help enable those services to allow this update and future updates to reach your Samsung device for Gear VR usage.
If you continue to have problems after following the instructions below, please reach out to Oculus Support via https://support.oculus.com and we will work with you to resolve your issue.
Why aren't Gear VR apps installing or updating on my mobile phone?
If Gear VR apps aren't installing on your mobile phone, the most likely reason is that the App Manager and Installer aren't enabled.
What does the App Manager and Installer do?
The App Manager and Installer allow Gear VR apps to be installed on your mobile phone. It also makes sure that the latest versions of Oculus apps are on your mobile phone.
How do I turn on App Manager and Installer ?
To turn on the App Manager and Installer, tap on the "Settings" application, then "Applications" and finally "Application Manager". Make sure you have chosen the "All" category and find the following applications:
com.facebook.appmanager (App Manager)
com.facebook.system (Installer)
Tap into each and make sure they are enabled.
Unable to find com.facebook.system
If you are on Android OS 6.0 (Marshmallow), com.facebook.system may not be visible. Please try the following steps:
1. Navigate to Settings
2. Tap on Application Manager
3. Locate the More menu in the upper right corner
4. Tap Show System Apps
5. This will make com.facebook.system visible and allow you to enable it
The App Manager and the Installer must be enabled before Gear VR apps can be installed and updated on your mobile phone.

that sucks.. guess I gotta sell the VR gear..
Does the "nfc and payment" menu work for you in the setting. I might have disabled too much
disabling stock keyboard put me into a boot loop.

Thanks for the heads up about Debloater. Do you have an exported 'bloatware' list that we can use? Thanks :good:
So here is my personal list of disabled apps.
I left all the stuff enabled that I still use (chrome, maps, gearvr,...) and disabled everything without crippling functionality.
Beware that this is just my personal preference and that you may want do disable or reenable some apps. Hope someone will find this useful
Edit: disabled something for Bluetooth by mistake. Updated the XML

For debloating, do you think there are any significant differences between the Exynos and Snapdragon versions? Put otherwise, how risky is it likely to be to use your list on a U.S. S7?

CyanogenMOD 14.1 for falcon (Moto G 2013) won't allow you to install "super" package, there's not enough space on system partition. We can only install micro, nano or pico packages (maybe mini too?).
As far as I know it's not possible.

If you have to edit and modify the gapps-config.txt and open_gapps_log.txt can you send me your file that I see if there is an error.
Does the same works for AOSP Extended v3.0 official ROM or I have to add more apps to exclude list.

I can make you a flashable zip which will remove all bloatware and will work on 8.1, but it won't be an aroma installer. Does that work for you? If it does, let me know and I'll make one for you in the evening post work today.

Done! I've attached it with this post. Try flashing it on an existing setup (and not straight after a clean flash since the zip removes the setup wizards as well). I used OOS Open Beta 8 as base for the file paths, but it should theoretically work for all the Open Betas based on Android 8.1
For reference, the zip removes the following files and folders:

Bear in mind I haven't tested the zip as I'm not on OOS, so proceed with caution. In case anything goes wrong/doesn't work, just dirty flash the OOS you are on and you should be good. Have fun! :good:

That's nice, but there's a lot os stuff in there. Do you know what everything does? Are you running you phone without all that without problems?
Dirac isn't the sound drivers or something?

I have a fair idea about everything that my zip is removing. Most of the stuff has been compiled by looking into the multiple debloaters that are there for OOS anyway.
I haven't tested the zip myself because I use a custom ROM myself, but a couple of people I asked to test reported no issues, so. But, as always, issues can arise for anyone flashing anything, that's a standard disclaimer.
Coming to DIRAC, yes, that's a sound solution that OnePlus ships with OOS, but the sounds work just fine without DIRAC too. My zip removes it because there are people who prefer V4A as their sound mod and there have been times when DIRAC has been incompatible/caused some issues with V4A. Therefore, my zip removes it as well.
That's awesome, nice job.

Code:
bugreport

If I want to keep a few apps, if I freeze them with Titanium Backup will they stay or will they be removed as well?
---------- Post added at 07:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:14 AM ----------
Also, when I used this the first time I was not able to use the dark/light OOS theme engine. It removed the OOS file manager and when i put it back in it was light, not a dark theme. I tried to go back to the light theme and it didn't make the change. I'd like to know if anyone knows what package needs to stay to be able to use the OOS theme engine.
Update... I found it. It's the OPSkin package. I'll try freezing the packages I want to keep and flash the zip and see how it comes out.

Frozen or not, they will be removed by the debloater.

Yes, the zip removed the OPSkin package as well, but I have updated the debloater so that it doesn't remove it now since that the inbuilt skin engine is something that I feel many users would be using. I've also compared OOS 5.1.0 with OOS OB 8 Hotfix and am happy to inform that the zip can be used with OOS 5.1.0 as well.
Updated zip is attached with this post. Have fun!

Great! Also, if you'd like, PM me the list of apps that you don't want the zip to debloat and I'll update my zip to make a custom, personalized version for you. That way, you can use the zip without needing to reinstall the apps that you use.

The only 3 are the oos filemanager, the oos gallery and YouTube, but I run a custom YouTube app that blocks ads. So no worries about a custom zip. Only takes a min to redo those.
But thanks a lot for the last one that leaves in the OPSkin

One more thing I found. Since I flashed the debloater in settings I can't enter data usage. I see it in the list on settings, but when I tap on it it t does nothing. Anything you can think of that was removed that would effect that?

No clue what could be causing that. I'll have a look again at the stuff being removed in case anything obvious pops out to me.
