I am currently on d80020c I am rooted. I have latest TWRP installed. I tried to goto the resurrection lollipop but was getting a compatible error.
I was told to load new bootstrap then Rom.
I got the bootstack installed and then got compatible error again and it was then bricked with qsusb.
Am I missing something?
I just want lollipop and cannot get OTA updates unfortunately.
Thanks!

you can't get OTA updates if you have custom recovery
No I understand that. Before I did custom I tried to get OTA updates but I am not registered on att networks because I am on net10. Tried with an att sim with no luck. So I am just wondering what is wrong with my setup now to properly flash.

I've noticed this several times. It seems that the red ROOTED text only appears when you root the stock rom, or when you flash a .kdz format rom manually (rooted or not). I am currently running a Germany open rom on my international G2 which is not rooted. Yet still I see the red ROOTED text in download mode. Right now I'm using the firmware recovery option in the official LG Mobile Support Tool to recover to the international stock rom. I hope this is the KitKat rom but I'm not shure...
Maybe you should try to revert to the stock rom downloaded by the LG Mobile Support Tool, and hope It's the KitKat version. If not, maybe use the stock 4.2 and wait for the official release for your specific country.

The download was complete and my phone was restored to stock. It was a suprise that it actually is the KitKat update...
Unfortunately I also still have the red ROOTED text in download mode, while the rom is clean and official. I am sure the thing I said in my previous post applies to Android 4.2 as restoring the same way before KitKat changed the text to UNROOTED in grey. Maybe LG released an update so that once you root or flash a custom rom the rootchecker permanently states ROOTED. Maybe not, could also be some kind of bug in the early KitKat releases.
In your case you would probably end up having a completely stock rom but still having the ROOTED text just like me. I'd say its not worth your time and having to restore all your data and apps, but that's up to you...

I guess if you flash 10f or something the rooted label will be gone. I have read it in somewhere. But idk how can we update our phones to kitkat with no rooted notification
Yesterday I did "Update bootloader" through LG Mobile Support Tool. After that my D802 shows "unrooted".

The V10f version is Android 4.2.2. It's true that when you flash this version there will be no ROOTED notification.
I'll try to update my boot loader as mentioned in the post above this weekend.

Yeah, sorry, that's called "Upgrade recovery" in "Options menu". It seems that it reflashes the ROM and sets root checker to unrooted.
You should wipe and fastory reset before doing upgrade with lg mobile support tool
Reset when you are on custom recovery and after reseted do not power on the phone
Let go to download mode and do the update

I have a D803 (Rogers, Canada) running stock KK 4.4.2 rooted (4.2.2 was rooted and I kept it when upgrading to KK).
Now, a new update is available (with, among other goodies, Knock Code).
Phone notifies me an update is ready. I can download it but can't install because the installer stops and displays "root is suspected".
Anyone knows a way to install the update?
Do I have to "unroot" for real or can the installer be tricked into thinking the phone is unrooted (like some sort of temporary unroot).
Thanks!

Have you removed bloat/modified the system(xposed/mods) If so then you have to put everything back to stock
Sent from my LG-D800 running stock kk, rooted with philz using XDA app
I am in the same boat. My phone is rooted and has no bloat but it took the Kit Kat update. Now that the knock code update is out, it won't let me take the update. I get the "suspected of rooting" error message too. Only difference is I am running some Xposed modules.
I disabled my Xposed modules but left everything installed. Rebooted and attempted the update again. Still the same problem.
Then I uninstalled Xposed and all its modules and still the same problem.
If you find out how to take the update, please up date this post so the rest of us know how as well.
Thanks

everything needs to be completely stock so that you can ota, if it gives the suspected of rooting then the only way to ota is to flash a stock kdz via r&d/flash tool and then update
You mean using this thread to flash back to complete stock?

yes that's correct
Updating through the 'LG PC Suite' or 'LGMobile Support Tool' should work though
Yes, except the LG suite wants to flash the Bell version of the ROM and using the KDZ file, I can flash the Rogers version of the ROM.

Have stock with root and exposed and modded camera. Not risking the update. I just tap to install and then when prompted to continue, hit cancel.
Knock code does not offer me anything. So unless there is a good reason to have to re-configure the whole bloody phone ... this update will not be missed.
So I currently have a ATT lg g2.that is unlocked and running on metro PCs...I know that the Lollipop update will start rolling out to the united states soon and I wanted to know if I would would still get the official update notification from ATT for the update OR if I have to install a recovery and install the lollipop ROM .I wouldn't mind installing the ROM I just would rather install the official ROM if that's possible.

Unlocked how? Sim unlocked or Rooted?
If rooted u need to do a kdz restore. That is your best solution
SIM unlock has nothing to do with rooting, flashing roms and custom recovery.
U need to be on stock rom, stock recovery and unrooted.
I'm just rooted...no recovery installed ..my phone is Sim unlocked and I'm using metro PCS...my question is doesn't ATT send out OTA???? So if I'm with a different carrier I would not get.the update right ??

Correct. If you are not on AT&T's network, you will not get any OTA updates.
Ermagerd. OTA is live. Just tested myself by unfreezing software update and checking ota. Large file. 683 mb. C'mon rooty goodness
Sorry, its been years since I last rooted a phone. If I'm rooted I cannot do the OTA right? I would have to have a custom recovery and flash it like that right?

That's correct. You can follow the return to stock method to go back to stock unrooted and ota but doing so may result in you not being able to root as there is no root method for 5.0 yet. Either wait for stock rooted to be posted by one of your awesome devs (should be soon. they are usually quick to offer stock rooted ota pkgs) or go straight stock. Since I read news today that xposed is going live for lollipop soon I am going to wait for stock rooted ota.

I unrooted and factory re-set the phone. Two different root checkers say I am not rooted. However, I get a message that I cannot update because a root is detected!!! Have tried 3 times now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Lol Idk if it will be only a couple of hours. That'd be nice but our devs have lives and do this stuff in their spare time. In theory they SHOULD be able to follow the same method devs from the international versions used to give users their rooted ota updates but sometimes it's just not that easy. This is the first US carrier release for the G3 so there may be security updates that weren't present in the international releases.

You restored stock via flash tools ? That'd be a first I've heard of persistent root after a pure factory reset via that method. Did you get the green pass message when completed and all?
You may want to attempt a 10D flash instead of 10f. I never have issues restoring with 10d

Yes 5.0. But at&t got 5.0.1 if im not mistaking.
Yep it has: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...rly-700mb-d85020f-update-packs-android-5-0-1/
it may be harder for ATT g3 to get a L flashable rom due to lack of KDZ for ATT devices.. where the international users can just split the KDZ and repack into zip.
if someone wants to send me an AT&T g3 I can make one though

So the method of pre-rooting won't work with D850 lollipop BC it uses tot? KitKat for our variant uses tot as well and they still got us a rooted ota 10f update. Most posts I've read about G3 lollipop (lg stock not aosp) have said in order to have root on Lollipop you have to be on KitKat to use the same exploit used on KitKat. Is that not a viable solution anymore? I actually like the lg stock ROM and features. If we can't root the stock g3 rom on lollipop I'm going to have to look into getting a nexus 6 and will sell this. Xposed is apparently up and running well with lollipop and I gotsta has me ma xposed.
How is the 5.0.1 update running? Hope that the D855 version will be releasing soon. I'm on 5.0 V20H version and it's runs great

Don't know. I want to OTA and all but I need root. I use many programs that require root and just not having the ability to remove bloatware is reason enough for me to wait for a rooted OTA. Really hope one of the devs can figure out how to make a flashable OTA zip.

10f had a rom because there was still root on 10f and you could backup system, boot and modem.
someone may have another solution worked out.. or even a tot to pull the files from. but it's not going to be as easy as it was previously due to no public root for L at the moment, the difficulty of getting a tot and lack of KDZ. Unfortunately I only have the T-Mobile version.. otherwise I'd be able to make one for you guys.
Please friends am very new here and I want to flash a custom ROM but don't know which rom to go for, I rooted my phone with kingroot, I don't know whether flashing CWM/TWRP recovery will be safe, my device is Galaxy s4 att baseband UCUFNJ5 am stocked at 4.4.4 KitKat Android stock rom and am tired of it.
Please friends guide me on what to do, I am tired of KitKat and am not receiving OTA update from att
The phone has a locked bootloader. TWRP/CWM/Philz cannot be flashed to the phone. Don't try because you may hard brick the phone. Safestrap is used for the ATT s4.
No custom ROM can be installed unless the ROM is based on a stock Samsung ROM.
The phone cannot receive an OTA update to 5.01 because the phone is rooted.

Did you have an AT&T sim in the phone? I'm not sure but you may need an ATT sim in the phone and connected to at least wifi before OTA updates would work.
You'd have to update the bootloader and modem to work with custom stock-based LP ROMs. I recommend looking here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221
