Hi everybody,
I have the note 3 n900w8, Canada version and I still on modem / bootloader from kitkat.
I want to keep my Knox 0x0 for the warranty but now with all the Roms on lollipop, I have some issues caused but the old kitkat bootloader and modem.
So I'm wondering now is it possible to flash only the lollipop modem and not the bootloader to keep Knox 0x0 and install custom roms?
Second question, where can I find the modem / bootloader for n900w8 for bell mobility to flash them with Odin?
The modem for the Canadian note 3 is the same for Bell, Telus, and Rogers.
I do not recommend flashing a newer modem on an older bootloader because you may find that your imei is null or you won't be able to connect to your carrier's network.
If the note 3 is like the s3, incompatible bootloader/modem combinations can brick the phone.
I have no warranty left on my s3 or note 3 so tripping knox is no biggie for me.
Thanks a lot!

Hey guys,
I have android 4.2.2 with knox bootloader on my gt-i9505. I want to upgrade it to android 4.3 but with a different csc. Is it possible to do so without triggering the knox warranty bit? I suppose it should be, as it is a newer bootloader, but the guys from sammy said, that branded firmwares have different bootloaders... Any ideas?
now I have TMH based rom, with MH7 pda and I want the XEH csc based firmware, which is MJ7
It works!
Hey all
Just flashed the firmware. Well, it's not branded anymore and moreover, it is still 0x0 Also, i have a new line in odin mode: eMMC burst mode: enable...
Hello
I purchased an S5 which was imported from Germany and it has Q Telecom branded firmware (it has Q Telecom apps, boot logos etc.) And I would like to flash a stock unbranded firmware with odin, will I trip Knox?
Also is there any method on unupdated S5s of obtaining Root only without tripping Knox? Like it was with Root de la Vega on Note 3 phones

No, flashing firmware with Odin doesn`t trip KNOX and for rooting look for Towelroot which doesn`t trip KNOX.
..
Thanks for your replies.
Ok towelroot worked fine for my German firmware but I still want an unbranded & rooted firmware while still having Knox 0x0.
I have Mobile Odin Pro will it work somehow without tripping Knox
Hey guys...
Currently have a vanilla SM-G900i S5 here in OZ and to this date the only Lollipop release is for Taiwan.
I have tried this release but found it has several issues with Microsoft Exchange accounts..
Anyway, i would like to know if it is possible to use a SM-G900f firmware whilst retaining my LTE bands.
My understanding is that both the 900i and 900f have identical hardware but use different LTE bands.
Thank you.
Not possible via odin.
Only custom roms via custom recovery. Modem and bootloader must be from taiwan rom. Good to start from Taiwan rom as a base to further mods.
Kernel - stock (Taiwan)/KTonnsez/Omega.
But only with knox 0x1.
It appears that I have tripped knox trying different modems. My baseband is now stuck and I am unable to update it even with ODIN and original firmware. It will not overwrite the baseband version. Is this normal behavior? I have an N900W8.
Did you try flashing a complete a stock ROM from sammobile.com in Odin?
Personally, tripping knox has never been a problem with any Samsung phone I have owned and used.
Good day.
For several years i always had already rooted android phones.
My question here is, Recently i have bought an non knox tripped unlocked S8 that came with Hungary CSC.
If i Odin flash TPH firwmware, will it trip knox?
Thank you.
knox trips when unlocking bootloader. by installing official firmware, you dont unlock your bootloader
