Flashing BTU on edge+ ? - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, my csc is XSC. If I flash the UK G928F BTU firmware will my edge+ still work like normal? My edge plus was from dubai and is the G928C model. And which odin should I use? Thanks

yes it will work normal

If You run into the problems while flashing firmware from other carrier it may happen that on Galaxy s6 edge plus + You will get error during flashing hidden.img file.
In that case take out hidden.img from firmware file with winrar/7zip and extract it somewhere else and rename it from hidden.img to hidden.img.tar and then restart odin and restart phone to
download mode again and select AP from Odin and choose hidden.img.tar and flash it.
It worked for me so my SM-G928C is SM-G928F.
Actualy only difference between this two phones is supported LTE bands and SM-G928C supports LTE Cat6 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 (Bands 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,17,18,19,20,26) and
SM-G928F supports LTE Cat6 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 (Bands 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,17,20,25,26,28).
You can find exact list of LTE bands and their frequencies at http://niviuk.free.fr/lte_band.php
It's sure to say that difference is only band 19,25,28 which is used in Japan and NAR countries.
P.S. After flashing You might need to reset to factory defaults phone at least one more time in order that CSC get's applied and 4G starts working

Does any firmware works?

Hi!
I got a 935fd S7 Edge it was shipped with the G935FXXS1APG3 firmware. It seems this one is from Egypt. Can I flash any 935F or FD firmware (from any country) or must be this and only this one?
Tnx

I have the G935F edge and it shipped with Egypt csc too. I'm trying to flash to AMO (spain) firmware with my mac using jodin but I have a few questions before I start. When I extracted the firmware, inside the firmware file is a BL and AP file. On jodin there is a BL option but no AP option to click. so im stuck. anyone out there who knows how to flash using jodin on mac could you please help?

[Update: Galaxy S7 edge too!] Full Android 7.0 firmware for the Galaxy S7 now availab

The firmware are available for two regions: UK (BTU) and the Czech Republic (O2C). You can download these Nougat-based firmware files and flash your compatible Galaxy S7 models manually (you should also be able to update your device through Samsung Smart Switch on your PC). Galaxy S7 edge firmware shouldn’t be far behind, and we will be sure to let you know once those show up in our database.

Yes
Right .. I've been reading and researching this .. but can't find a definitive answer. Perhaps one of you gurus can assist. According to Phone INFO I have the following setup:
Bootloader/PDA/Baeband Version: G935FXXU1DPLT
CSC Version: G935FOXA1DPLT
When I try to use/install the Galaxy Gear VR, I keep getting "network error". From my research, this is linked to the CSC. Question is, how do I restore it to base CSC - without rooting?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers.
nice. can somebody upload the firmware somewhere else cuz i have to w8 9 hours to dld from sammobile

The other thread was created when the full firmware was not available yet, the workaround was to flash mm btu then update to nougat. These are the nougat firmwares as they are now available, not the mm ones. so you just have to flash them and you'll have nougat on your phone.

I haven't flashed a different CSC cause I don't want to lose features such as the Mobile data toggle, currently on the Arab firmware since my phone is a Duos, anyone know if BTU has the Mobile data toggle even on 7.0?

Find a firmware without a multi CSC I believe XSA and UK carrier firmwares all are like this.. Check the repartition box. Flash and don't use the Home CSC. Let the phone boot and then flash your multi CSC firmware. That is how I have gotten around it my S7 edge when I was trying to make Samsung Pay work.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. So just confirming before I start, you reckon below are the steps I should take?
1) Flash with a non multi-csc firmware, such as the Australian XSA (check the repartition box, and don't use HOME_CSC)
2) Reboot, then flash again with a multi-csc firmware, such as the Netherland PHN firmware.
And, when flashing do I pick all 4 files in Odin (BL, CP, AP, CSC)?
Thanks for your help.

If you want Samsung Pay works in the USA also then just flash XSA with all the files and don't use home csc and your done.
The only time I had issues is when you want to switch from a multi csc to another multi csc. Example German csc to UK csc because they use the same firmware. That is when I flashed a fixed csc then flashed a multi csc. So I could get the specific csc to work on my phone. Supposedly you can do it differently through the dialer I think. It never worked for me.
I have my s8 and my gf's s7 edge both on XSA because Samsung pay and white pages both work. Only downside is you get updates a month later then BTU.
I hope that makes sense if not pm me.
Thank you. It works as you said.

flashing: from SM-G950U to SM-G950F

Hey there,
I have SM-G950U (which is for US market) and now I'm living in Europe, can I reinstall firmware to one from my current region even if it is for SM-G950F model?
SM-G950U ---> SM-G950F
Thanks.

I don't think it will work, flashing a European firmware has boot loader included, European boot loader not compatible with US model

lol we can't flash exynos rom to Qualcomm
Yeah... I thought so. I'm asking cuz apparently I cannot obtain and use LTE+ in Europe even though it has the same frequencies. Now it says LTE which is around 11 mbps...

You might be able to flash only the CSC as they dont contain system binaries just config files but I have no idea if it will work or now so be prepared to restore from soft brick id you try
I have a G950F.
Does anybody know if I can just flash the CSC from the G950U (ATT) firmware to my G950F International phone?
I know you can't flash the full firmware as the G950F has the Exynos processor and the G950U is made for the Snapdragon.
But is it safe to just flash the CSC file only as I want to fully use Samsung Pay, wifi calling, VoLTE, etc?
I'm using the Australia firmware (XSA) for my G950F.

Flash Oreo on my S8+ and change CSC
