Samsung S4 usb connection problems. - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay, so i have a Samsung S4 (i9505) running cm12 (5.1.1). The problem I'm facing is that it won't connect to my laptop (or multiple other computers i've tried, also tried downloading and deleting stuff of windows which didnt work either) via the usb cable, i've also tried mounting multiple USB's (Through an otg adapter), which also didn't work.
I've tried turnign debugging on and off, ADB on and off, developer options on and off. I came to my last resort today, resetting it. I reset it, the samsung boot logo came up it then went into TWRP, though the TWRP logo just kept flashing on and off (i read somewhere this means that its corrupt but im not sure). The only way i could get the phone to boot was by pressing the: home + volume down & power buttons and then pressing down (cancel) on the custom OS warning screen.
The problem now that im facing is, i cant reset my phone, mount anything via the usb or connect it to any computer. If someone could help me, that'd be greatly appreciated.

usb not working

Anyone got any idea how to fix this problem?
Hey,
Have you tried enabling USB debugging in Settings > Developer Options?

Cheers mate but yep I tried that and nothing changed
I'm in the same boat. Had this problem for a long while, almost had my guarantee expire so I had it fixed. Not sure what caused it, or what fixed it. But couple of weeks later I was transfering some files through the now working USB port and accidently touched the cable - the device lost connection mid-transfer and since then I was unable to use the USB to transfer files, or connect the device to anything but the charger..
Along comes the 5.1 OTA which I decide to install and mid-install there was an error and the device soft-bricked - I can't boot it, it shows the Android robot with a red traingle and exclamation mark and 'No command.' written under it, at which point it reboots after a couple of minutes.
I can access recovery and fastboot mode and excecuted a factory reset but to no avail. Does anyone know how to fix the USB so that I can reflash stock and make my device work again?
Also, any ideas if one could bypass the use of the USB port in fixing the softbrick would also be helpful.

Android boot loop on Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo (i9060)

Hey!
New to XDA but a complete fan of the help and guides you guys provide.
So, I acquired an i9060 smartphone and successfully installed CM 11 without the help of my laptop since the usb cable through Odin never worked for me (driver issues on Win10?).
Unfortunately, my phone entered an Android boot loop. And now with a lot of attempt I can't even enter CWM or even charge my smart phone, as it always reboots while trying to charge the battery (it's always drained) or gets stuck during logo before accessing CWM.
I tried to install Samsung drivers, Kies, ABD, Odin to restore the firmware but... nothing seems to recognise this Samsung device. Does anyone had the same problems I'm having now? Any suggestions?
You might try another USB cable, USB port, or even another computer. Without Odin, you're not going to be able to fix this since recovery is no longer available.

Tried on 3 laptops but the problem persists. Never thought of changing my usb cable though. I'll give it a shot
Btw, is there anyway to use an external SD card to force a factory reset?

Have you considered the possibility that your power button is sticking? Not the part that you touch but the hardware switch behind it?
Do you have USB debugging enabled?
Are you using the stock cable or at least a USB cable with the same number of pins/pinouts?

A800i USBsettings has stopped

Guys could anyone help me?
My phone is Samsung A8 variant A800i non-rooted and already 6.0.1.
Eversince I upgraded to MM thru ODIN I am encountering an error in my OTG as in it won't read any disk... the only resort to make the otg work again is to reflash my phone. However during the most recent otg failure, a "USBsettings has stopped" was shown. I factory reset my phone but still this notification appears everytime I start my phone. So when I decided to reflash my phone, I was shocked that my laptop only charges my phone. It can't even detect my files thru mtp connection.
I tried the following and my laptop still can't detect my phone:
1. At the Developers Option I tried to switch the USB Configuration from MTP to Charging to MTP and various other switching, while connected and unconnected to laptop.
2. Dialled *#0808# to reset USBsettings but I am only getting "USBsettings" has stopped.
3. I reinstalled the USBsettings.apk from the system folder (via total commander).
4. I have installed USBsettings.apk taken from another phone.
By the way before I tried the above methods I have already eliminated the cable and pc problems since using the same cable and laptop, I can connect my other samsung phone thru mtp and is detected by odin. I have also tried various other desktop on Windows 7 and 10 but still the same problem: these only charges my phone.
Moreover, there is no abnormality in my charging time eversince this happened.
Hope someone could help me make this work again.
Thank You.

No USB connectivity and phone is soft-bricked

Hello everybody, I own an Xperia XC and a couple of months ago I’ve rooted it and I flashed 34.1.A.1.198 firmware, Advanced Stock Kernel and TWRP-recovery. All worked fine, until two weeks ago it lost suddenly the USB connectivity. I tried different USB-cables on different PC’s but neither the phone, nor the PC’s act in any way. Even in fastboot- or flashmode it doesn’t appear in the device manager of the PC’s. I made for a couple of times factory reset, I even changed the phone’s USB charging port with a new one, but nothing changed. I could load the phone only over a power strip with USB-power-supply. I tried to flash the firmware 34.1.A.1.198 again using flashfire (I made a pre-rooted .zip-file with PRFCreator) but now I get a boot-loop. The phone starts till Sony-Logo and after a few seconds it turns off and boots again. Trying to get in recovery mode has no effect (pressing volume up or down and Power-button).
Has anyone any idea, how can I solve this problem? Is there any possibility to make a hard reset without USB-connection?
man why did mess with your phone when you knew you cant use usb connection???
try this: press all buttons and hold them to turn the phone off then try to get access to twrp(or any recovery on your phone) then use a usb type-c flash memory with your phone to flash another zip and hopefully just bring the phone back to life

Thanks for your ansver Kianush, but it seems the phone can't handle any connected devices at the USB-port. Besides of that, when I try to connect it in flash- or fastboot mode, the LED goes green or respectively blue, but none of my PC's doesen't recognize it as a connected device in any way.
I tested the PC connection with an other Xperia XC (my daughter's), it worked without any problems. It was shown in the dewice manager as an "SOMC Flash Device".
It seems like some USB-kernel drivers are lost (?)
I think an option could be using s1tool, but I don't find something for Xperia XC and I don't know yet where the testpoint is for this phone.

Can't get into recovery

I have some charging issues and I'm trying to go wipe the cache partition to see if that helps, but I can't get into recovery! I'm on the latest A11 update.
Tried all button combos including connecting to USB on computer but nothing. I have latest Samsung drivers installed, USB debugging on but they don't see each other.
Computer connected USB does show it's charging, as usual, with no actual increase in charge - that's my actual problem, but getting into recovery is crucial in any case.
Probably the new One UI changes, try connecting the device to the PC and use the same combination and keep holding (Not the power button) until you see the recovery menu.
As for the charging, maybe cleaning the device can help or use different cable/charger.
