Anyone feel like typing is slower with edge+? - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I upgraded from a normal edge to a edge plus and it feels like I'm a much slower typer on the phone. It's hard to explain but I generally don't feel like I can press keys as fast as I want. If I slow down its fine but if I go too fast it misses keys.
Aosp keyboard.

1) flash arter97 kernel. He fixed there this issues.
or
2) Install Google Keyboard.

[Q] Keyboard lag

I've got an HTC Hero, it's GSM, ever since new I've found the keyboard to be incredibly frustrating. There's quite serve lag in many apps, typing in forms in some webpages is nearly impossible. Even the built in apps like SMS have lag. It's worse in landscape mode too. Sometimes it'll even pause for half a second mid key press and register that as a long press on that key (although this might be scanning for wifi, because bluetooth audio seems to hitch at similar intervals unless I turn it off)
I've tried countless different 1.5, 2.1 and 2.2 ROMs, with and without Sense, some are slightly better but they all suffer from it.
I've Googled it and surprised to find I don't see any other complaints in the internet about it, finally I've decided to post a question here. I would be guessing hardware limitations, either digitiser or the processor is just too slow.
Would be keen to here other people's thoughts on this though, has anyone managed to fix it?
Edit: I should add that I have the vibration on key press off already.

No lags here. Have you tried using lower overclock if you tried Froyd, since it doesn't need overclock to get higher speeds. I run on stock speeds, and have no lag issues using any keyboard in particular.
How bad a lag are you talking about? The hardware should be more than capable.
EDIT: hold on, are you meaning the keyboard is laggy. I think this is just the keyboard itself. Try something like ultra keyboard or swiftkey?
Yeah, the keyboard is laggy, I can almost type twice as fast as it comes up on the screen when it's at it's worst (usually in a webpage typing in a form). I haven't tried either of those keyboards, but I've tried other keyboards including the standard 1.5, 2.1 and 2.2 ones with the same problem.
This is a Hero issue, Froyd is a good rom works to reduce the lag for me
With the new cronos 1.3.0 all lags are gone. I had this issue with all roms before too.

Keyboard slowness

I don't know if it the phone, the software or what ,but android keyboard seem to be slow. I have iphone before and any key i press when typing message is not miss. I now have hd2 running android and sometime i type a key it it got miss. Anyone have this experience or away to resolve this?
If it's the same thing I'm thinking about, then it's a Touchscreen problem. Happens when the bus which the TS is on gets gets flooded with commands and causes a temporary slow down. At least.. That's how I've come to understand it.
It's a work in-progress but it might never get solved.
I've noticed this too, mostly if I'm walking outside, turning off the gsensor & auto brightness usually helps,
Try downloading an app called "MySettings" from the market place, there's an option to put an icon in the notification bar to quickly change settings.
Just a possible short term solution till its sorted.
P.s.
This is the wrong section
I think it depends what keyboard you're using and what settings you have.
E.g. using TouchPal without prediction, my HD2 keyboard is as fast as an iPhone.
Using SwiftKey it's slower, but the prediction is very cool.
Using the Android keyboard it's pretty quick, but not quite iPhone quick.
It's worth trying a few to see what works best for you, but know that by using the right keyboard, it can be as quick as the iPhone.

[Q] General Lag Issues

So I recently got a Droid X because I wanted a change from my Incredible. I was running CM7 Nightlies on my Inc and it was blazing fast all around. As a matter of fact, essentially every ROM on the Inc felt very snappy overall and I was really never left hanging. I love the hardware of the DX, but no matter what ROM I flash, I feel like there is always this overall laggy feeling of the phone. Granted, all of the non-Blur ROMs are worlds faster than stock Blur, but none of them are anywhere near as responsive as the Inc. For example, the lockscreen always seems to hang on unlock and when I add widgets or activate a similar menu that bring up a list, the list sometimes takes forever to load. And when I am listening to music and doing something else on the phone (texting, emailing) the music tends to skip a lot.
I was just wondering if anyone experiences this similar lag and if anyone has any suggestions. I've tried basically every DX ROM out there, overclocked, and reflashed just to make sure my installs are okay.
Thanks for the help in advance

I feel like Swype isn't handling multitap. It's interpreting fast typing as dragging

First of, I don't have this problem on my nexus 5.
Last time I noticed it it was on the Atrix 4g, a phone supposedly with multi-touch support. However, I was prevented from using it because of these problems-- when I tap type quickly it's like it drags the gaps together or the touch sensor interprets them as a finger Swype.
It's also possible this is because I need more GPU power. I've been tweaking the governor possibly too much.
Interesting.

custom rom to aleviate keyboard lag?

Hi All,
I got my s7 edge the week it came out. amazing phone overall. My biggest problem is in the last month, the keyboard lag is unbearable. No matter what keyboard I am using, it takes sometimes 2-3 seconds to pop up so i can type. and then there is sometimes 1 second delay from when i tap a letter on keyboard to when it actually types. If i hold backspace, sometimes it takes 2-3 seconds to delete a word. Weird thing is, overall speed of phone like opening apps is very fast which is good. But most of my use is typing messages and emails and this lag makes it unbearable.
I have heard some people said they went to a "custom rom/kernel" on their Exynos s7 and all the lag went away. is this true in any way?
If so how dangerous is it and are there any comprehensive guides on getting custom recovery and a good stable rom? The last time i dabbled in custom roms was probably 3-4 years ago with a motorola Triumph (ive been on iphone all this time before galaxy s7)
