Hi guys,
Anybody knows why mobile odin is no longer supported for Note 4?
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Free mobile app
It has been replaced with FlashFire as a more generic tool.
SM-N920?
Note 4 not yet supported on Odin mobile. Hopefully the Dev can include it in the future.
Flashify only flashes kenels and recoveries AFAIK.
Odin mobile can flash a whole Rom.
Sent from my SM-N910G
I said FlashFire (also made by chainfire) not flashify.
If has all the features of mobile Odin but is more generic as it can be used on devices that don't have to be added manually in order to work.
SM-N920?
I got it. Still in beta stage. We need to wait a bit for the app to be stable.
Sent from my SM-N910G
It is as stable as it's gonna be. I've used it with number of samsung and non samsung devices.
Development on it is not active, so you might wait a while for it to get out of beta, if ever.
Then again most apps from google are perpetually beta, so what.
SM-N920?
Unfortunately for me Flashfire broke my mobile data and cant restore it even with factory reset. Only reinstalling a new stock Rom via PC Odin fixed my mobile data.

im noob for samsung, what is mobile odin?
Good news. Thx.
The problem is that it can't operate. It tells me that there is unexpected partition and shuts down. ):
I saw that too and contacted Chainfire and he resolved the issue.. there is a new build and it does not report any error on my device.. As always use @ your own risk..!
Will we be able to flash ROM's with CWM anytime soon ?
I'm used to that using my Note, ODIN seems more technical (need to know what ur doing)
So if some cook decided to build a custom ROM , would be be able to flash via (mobile) ODIN, and/or CWM?
Odin support since I bought my tab last week. Been using it already to flash Australia firmware ;-)

Assuming CWN works correctly you will be able to flash as soon as someone releases a rom.
As for Odin being to "technical", If you do NOT know how to use odin, then you should NOT be modding your device. Odin is a simple click, add the file, press start. How hard is that?
Not everything can be spoon fed.
Edit: Also why is this in development? Should be in general.
My sincere thanks to you for your first line, the answer.
The rest, well, it's a forum and It got a lot worse after 2008.

what do you do after mobile Odin has downloaded a dump file to make device compatable???
Chainfire has already done the work to make Mobile Odin work with P6800/6810. If you're using mobile odin lite, you need to download the flash kernel manually from chainfire's thread. The paid version from market should do this automatically.
i've tried both technic to flash mine.. mobile odin pro just made my device went to loop booting. then i used odin 1.85 rev. 3 for wwindows which made my device alive again..
Sent from my GT-P6800 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Since it was updated to support the p6800 I have never used Odin on my laptops/desktops again, and haven't had any issues flashing from the device with mobile Odin. You should check to make sure everything is set correctly and you have the flash kernel loaded properly..

Yeah! I used mobile odin and its working fine. Thanks, mate.

me too "même en France" thanck chainfire...
I saw in the mobile odin thread that it added support for galaxy 5. But why our galaxy 3 still not supported ?? A lower model than ours has both official rom manager and cwm suupport and mobile odin support, and ours has not....

He (chainfire) said that he needed a new dump of the phone from v 2.0.
No one must have submitted it from our community and thus no support.
On the other hand the galaxy 5 user must have given the dump

Taked from mobile Odin thread:
-A G3 user: I see in your signature that you have the I5800, why you don't suport it ?
-Chainfire:Because I cannot do any testing on it, because the USB is damaged. So one bad flash, and the device is a brick.
-Me:If you need something, you can ask to us, the G3 community.
I don't think you make the test yourself for all the mobile suported by mobile odin, so we can make the test for you
We really want Mobile Odin for G3
Then nothing ;(

Mobile Odin is great, you guys should really persevere and get it. Mobile Odin is really convenient, I'm surprised my device got support for it .
Cheers

I don't have access to a computer to root my att S4. Is there any way to do it without a computer?
I only have my note 8 with me.

No, you'll need a computer for at least part of the process. What firmware ate you on?
I have a deathly slow xp laptop available.
Firmware is i337UCUEMK2

Well luckily rooting isn't that system taxing. I rooted mine on a 2006 laptop...slow but worked
Just read this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314494
and use this method to root:

Call me a moron but I am stuck in download mode after not following the instructions for the recovery. I used goo manager to install twrp. How can I recover from this?

You can't install a custom recovery if you have mk2 firmware your bootloader is locked and currently the only way to run a custom ROM is to use safe strap. You can try this to unbrick http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573080 or take it to a best buy with a Samsung experience shop and beg them to flash it.

Well not sure what steps to do as the phone is in download mode. I see the 4th post in that thread has boot modem and recovery and that seems to be what screwed up flashing twrp. I could try that set of steps and see or can I flash back to the previous firmware and be all good and hope the MK2 ota is pushed to me.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I467 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Well I flashed the stock recovery and boot img and I got my phone back. Will wait to see if twrp gets supported before flashing a custom rom.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I467 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can't get twrp to work unless someone counteracts sammy's bootloader lockdown--I don't see that happening anytime soon
You need to use SafeStrap as mentioned--read up a lot on it in the General and Q&A sections
You can still flash a fair number of quality roms, but you are limited
You must use SafeStrap's recovery, which if memory serves me, is loosely based on twrp
Hi im wondering if anyone else is having this issue. I just flashed Omega rom 7.0 with no problems but then i flashed the new bootloader using Odin and it was successful too but for some reason when i check the bootloader version its still the old one.
I figured it out. Make sure to power down completely first and then boot into download mode and then flash thru Odin that way.
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
What is all about that new bootlader? Do I need to flash it? What has changed?
Thank you!
If you want to use the stock kernels you have to flash the new bootloader. Things like screen casting to a smart TV can only be done with stock kernels.

Hey I wanted to install the nougat firmware on my s7 edge. I got the phone from Australia on a plan from vodafone. I have already downloaded firmware from a mega link, i was wondering if someone can give me a quick run through on where each file goes and after the firmware installs does it trip knox and will i get OTA updates
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
Follow these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-...word-links-t3497078/post69558512#post69558512
Though you should download the latest version of Odin, 3.12.3.
And no, it won't trip Knox. OTA updates, no one knows yet. The beta will only last a few months anyway until they release it.
So i have to flash all 4 files with odin and if i wanted to go back to my stock vodafone firmware i would just flash it with odin again.

Also will my stock vodafone firmware reset the bootloader and CSC

If you have carrier I think the best way is to keep your CSC.
Import three files AP, BL and CP into odin and add original CSC (don't flash the csc from nougat)
Thats what i did, i restarted a few times and it seemed to fix it now i just gotta fix the battery drain
