So is this phone coming to the US market? Or has Sony just abandoned it?
I don't think there's any news about this yet, but I'm waiting for the answer too.
When the I bought the Z3, I wound up buying from Handtec in London. Will probably do the same... would rather buy local though.
Let's hope B&H Photo will carry it. They have a lot of unlocked phones. I purchased my Blackberry Bolt, Passport from them. Plus they don't charge taxes is you are outside of New York.
I cant even find the Z3+ hopefully the Z5 can be found.

I'm a bit skeptical. Like the links shows anywhere between October 2008 in Germany and March 2009 for the rest of the world.
See link: /2008/09/03/
The link address says it all.
Just being frustrated and living in Australia.

Sigh... was hoping today's announcement by SE would have something about the X1, but apparently not...
Sony Ericsson announces launch dates for Xperia(TM) X1
Too bad I don't live in UK, Germany, or Sweden.
oh, that would be perfect!
http://www.theunwired.net/?item=rel...the-official-xperia-x1-launch-on-30-september
The only thing still bugging me is
Xperia X1's price is still not known, so it seems that users who are impatiently awaiting for this detail will have to wait a bit longer.

Amazon.de lists it for 700 Euro.
I think that is plausible.
about the same prices here
without a contract of cause
same with iphone 3g and other
og the fancy phones without a contract
Probably gonna be a little higher here due to not being released in my country, yet
Well, that's what internet shopping is for

Today Amazon lowered the price for the Xperia X1 to 639,- EUR - that's pretty much the same price as for the HTC Touch Pro.
Great!

I hope that it really does cost that much and that SE doesnt come up with another official price.
Too bad amazon doesnt ship electronics in the EU.
that's a good bit of money that's comes out to around 910 US Dollars
think I'm goin to wait for a while and see how the unbasis reviews look when it comes out
NTT DoCoMo has officially released pricing for the Sony Xperia Z (SO-02E), due to launch in Japan on 9 February 2013. The price looks equivalent to that mooted in other parts of the world, coming in at 77,280 Yen (£545, €645, $860). Guys what do you think abot the price? Are they nominal or steep given the specs??!!

Well said, i think its gonna blow up a deep hole in our pocket for sure. Whatever Sony does perfect, they seem to mess up and lose out in the pricing factor (as they did in SL, Xperia ion, arc S) and such. They ll eventually take months to revise the price too, where in that mean time others may catch up!
It's been announced at $749 in australia (basically $750 US)... australia normally gets pretty bad pricing on phones, so there's hope it might not be too bad for the rest of the world.

im from sydney and i spoke to the company thats offering the handset for $749 but they said thats obviously subject to change and that i might be condiderably cheaper than that i remember paying $520 for the xperia s when it first was released in oz so going by that why would it be that much more expensive i doubt it would be more than $700

Japanese list prices are meaningless because they are 100% subsidy phones.
Only available through the carrier, and even if you outright purchase the handset (vs installment plan) you get a large immediate subsidy kickback.
Yes, one way or the other, they ll bump up the price!

You don't need to post a new thread every time a price is released as there's a thread about prices already here.
Thanks

The Sony Xperia Z is due to launch in Italy in March 2013 for a recommended price point of €649. This is according to Wired.it who spoke to David Draghi, head of sales at Sony Mobile Italy. There is also the possibility that the handset will be carried by one of the major Italian carriers. The price point shouldn’t come as a surprise, as we already know that this is the price confirmed in both Germany and France. Expect a similar price across most states in Europe.
fort the first time the price is similar in the rest of europe...
Seriously dude, you don't have to post every Xperiablog article here without credits.

I live in Thailand and have been waiting for Z1 release here. I don't want to import from EU due to high import duty and lack of warranty in case I get defective phone. I just went to Sony Store to see if I could pre-order one. They told me that Z1 will officially launch at Thailand Mobile Expo 2013 from Oct 3~6 and I can pre-order at Sony booth. I'll order mine on very first day Hope it'll come with latest firmware and fix superior auto by the time it is released.
What model that sell in Thailand c6902 or c6903? Thx

It is not clear if they are going to release just one model with LTE or 2 models with and without it. A guy at sony store had no detail info.

Nope, just a farang (westerner in Thai) live and work here.
are you going to Thailand Mobile Expo 2013 on the first day?? i'm thai. i've been waiting for the z1. i hope it'll be available to buy in the expo not just
for pre-order.
I'm in Thailand, I bought from Clove in the UK and although I paid VAT in Thailand I was exempt from VAT in the UK so actually worked out cheaper even with postage
warranty is a concern but if it comes to the worst I'll post it to Clove
Nice to see Thailand stepping up a little

I don't think we will be waiting too long even if we don't get it on first batch. Thai market is still crazy with galaxy and iphone. I bet many Thai smart phone users don't even know about Z1.

xperia z1 price has been confirmed at 20,990 baht with 3 colors to choose. the price is quite good, i thought it'd be like 22,900 baht. i hope there'll be 4g since 1 web said there was going to be 4g but another web said there won't be.

Reasonable price, cheaper than what I was expecting. I'm going to get purple Never had a purple phone before. LTE...I don't really care much about that. If it is included, well that would be great. If not, no big deal. LTE won't be widely available in Bangkok in a year or two. By that time, we all will be buying new phones anyway.

yep, you can get your device straight away. no pre-order. the page is in facebook https://www.facebook.com/sonyxpth it's in thai though. still not sure if it's 4g or 3g since sony didn't confirm officially, but their sony xp page said so. the old model that was Z and ZU both had seperate version of 3g/4g for sell with difference prices, they might do that again with z1 lol. have to wait for them to confirm officially. i don't really care anyway since i'll still get it.

It seems like its also available to preorder from Sony store in Canda for 700 CAD unlocked. Not sure which model yet or available in what color.
Soooo it was still cheaper for me having bought one from Clove in the UK! After duty and taxes, it came to $915. When you think about it, the pre-order at Clove also came with the Sony Smartwatch 2 (valued at $299) and Sony Store credit towards movies, music and games.

that is if you actually want the SW2, if you don't then no. Wonder which model they offer from Sony store, I need one that works with Wind mobile. But it looks like all model, C6902, C6903 and C6904 all works with wind. Can someone confirm this? I want the C6903 because its the only one that support H 265 playback. At least according to Sony docs.
