I have the S5 currently on Lollipop 5.0 and I have managed to change my Settings background from white to an image. So far I have not seen any guides here about how to change it for Lollipop. I am just wondering if anyone knows what the resolution is supposed to be since the phone seems to squeeze the photo. Originally the resolution was 1920x1920 and I would see the image for a split second and then it would go black and remain that way. I decided to resize the image to 512x512 and it may still be too big.
I am looking for suggestions or any open ideas. Thanks in advance.
The S5 screen resolution is 1080x1920 (Or 1920x1080 in landscape)

Yeah I know however for the settings background and music background it has to be smaller, I've gotten 400x600 to work. Around that resolution. Haven't tried to go higher yet. Still working out some kinks.

This is currently what I have for now. I'm constantly changing to find what goes best with the different font colors.
Have you tried 1080x1920 ?
Chances are it uses the same rez for that background as the homescreen does, and different resolution images will just get stretched or skewed (My guess)

I've tried several times to ypload screen shots of my Today screen, and each time I'm told the file can't be re-sized, the file I'm trying to upload is 240x320. Why is it others can upload screen shots of their Today screen, and I can't? Is this a priviledge for senior members, moderators, developers, etc. only? Hell what size is the display of their device....115x176?????

Yeah, but the message I get says the image is 240x320. First it says the limit is like 620x280, just don't make any sense to me at all! I believe 240x320 falls well under that limit. Something's screwed up!

Apparently trying to upload bitmap images was the problem. I found an app called LOOKMobile that saves the btmap image, and when the image is saved, the image becomes a jpeg file that can be uploaded from here.

I have the Wing with Itje's Touch IT 7.1PB running Ultimate Launch and battery status.
Does anyone know how I can get the wallpapers to be shown in real colours?

I'm just gonna guess and say the transparency level is set a little high instead of it being 0% to show the actual picture? When you set a wallpaper, it lets you set the level to where you want it (0-100%). The higher the % = the lighter the picture.
Yeah it was it but I didn't know how to reaarange it...Now I know it's in the picture and videos prog of the ROM
on your sd card or where ever the pictures are installed, select pic / menu / set as today background
im havin the same problem, but i cant adjust the transparency
set as background make sure transparency is set to 0%
I've just finished going through all of my pictures and wallpapers cropping and editing the ones I wanted for the X1, so I figured I'd share them with everybody. All Images are 480 x 660 which i find fits very well into TF3d (portrait of course)
Perhaps this can become more of a wallpaper thread, If you've got a cool wallpaper to share please post it here and mention what size/application its for
Download all 50 of my wallpapers HERE

Sorry, didn't see that you had posted here too.
Download a program called Gimp, its a free image editing program similar to photoshop just simplified. Open the image you want to resize and select the image tab at the top of the screen, then in the drop down menu select scale image. Then all you have to do is change the height and width values to what you want and your done.
I'm Running cm7 (nightlies) and ive been trying to get some wallpapers to look right, ever single one i have tried, all of them so far have shown up at the wrong resolution, or only a small part of the page. I have used Wallpaper set and save, the gallery, or uploading to dropbox and setting from webpage in dolphin browser.
My last attempt was to create my own

DPI was 196 and the resolution was 600x1024, which is apparently the right size for a non-scrolling wallpaper.
Again all above methods bring it to a terrible size on my screen.
I then tried multi-live wallpaper, and set a single image. This is the only thing that actually displays my image at the correct size, but... It is slow, it brings up a loading symbol when i unlock the screen, or when i rotate the screen. This is not ideal, i would rather a more native method that doesn't lag when i do those things.
any suggestions?
Nope, but QuickPic did the trick for me. Not much different than the native Gallery. Just better.
Just as reference, if i try to save from browser, or use gallery or quickpic. this happens
Whereas if i use multi-live
I think it is because the dpi is 196, i think the browser and gallery are defaulting to a lower 72dpi, then blowing the resolution up to match.
Hello. I have installed a Illusion jb Rom on my S4 from Rogers, now I noticed that text size is too small, as if resolution of the screen in wrong. Tried all the settings but still no result. Everything looks incredibly small.

I'm not familiar with that rom, but go into settings, and see if you can find where to set the dpi settings. Set something larger than is current.

See in your screen shot where it says illusion settings? Click that change all the dpi to a higher number.

Thanks a lot guy. Did find the dpi settings but it already was at its highest of 480 dpi. What I also have found was a Reset to Original button, I hit that and after reboot everything got back to normal. It reset the custom preset Paranoid Android setting that came as part of this Rom.
