Is there any possibility to unlock a TDD LTE band (B38 2600MHz TDD) on the international/european version of Galaxy S5, which officialy supports only FDD (as any other Samsung device sold in Europe)? The chipset is the same with the TDD version of S5 (SM-G9008V) sold in China, so it's just a firmware limitation. I've read this thread but nobody confirmed the functionality of any TDD band.
On my G900FD I have set the two NV items to only band B38 and it seems not to work. Even the Service app (*#0011#) shows an empty list for the supported LTE bands. I also tried setting all bands, quite a few additional bands were shown but the app doesn't seem to be good enough to display a longer list of LTE bands so no idea where it ended. It is possible that for this model the stock firmware does not even bother to check whether the TDD bands are enabled. I also tried to connect to B38 from CM12.1 latest nightly but B38 was not found and I have not found yet a method to read the supported LTE bands from CM.
LE: I tried and only added B38 to the stock 1/2/3/5/7/8/20 and B38 didn't show up in the service menu.
Seem their no develop working on band enables.

I hope the following information is applicable for all countries....
India's mobile frequencies & bands are
2G : GSM 900 MHz, GSM 1800 MHz
3G : WCDMA/HSPA/UMTS 2100 MHz ---- which are equivalent to BAND 1
4G : TD-LTE 2300 MHz ---- which are equivalent to BAND 40
As you all know only Airtel is providing 4G in india in TD-LTE 2300 MHz.
Two types of LTE -- FDD LTE , TDD LTE (NEW China Standard mainly)
TD-LTE -- Time-division Long-Term Evolution
LTE TDD -- LTE Time-Division Duplex
TDD LTE -- Time-Division Duplex LTE
All above 3 are same I guess...
And the main stream LTE is called FDD-LTE - Frequency-Division Duplex LTE
-------------------------------------------------------------------
OPO International Bands are ----
-------------------------------------------------------------------
2G: GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
3G: WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/8
-- Which are equivalent to --- 2100 /1900 / 1700 / 850 / 900 MHz ( Frequencies)
4G: LTE: Bands: 1/3/4/7/17/38/40
-- Which are equivalent to --- FDD 2100/ FDD 1800/ FDD 1700/ FDD 2600 / FDD 700 b c / TDD 2600 / TDD 2300
OPO Chinese Bands are ----
-------------------------------------------------------------------
2G: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
3G: WCDMA: 2100 / 1900 / 850 / 900 MHz
TD-SCDMA:1880-1920/2010-2025MHz
-- Which are equivalent to --- 1/2/5/8/39/34
4G: FDD-LTE :2100/1800/2600 MHz
TD-LTE:1880-1920/2300-2400/2570-2620MHz
-- Which are equivalent to --- 1/3/7/39/40/38
-------------------------------------------------------------------
So for India Both versions should work with all available telecom providers.
Let me know your thoughts guys...
:good:
No 4G on OPO in India
I thought of buying one, but seeing that it uses FDD LTE instead of TD, 4G will not work on this device in India.
WIND Mobile in Canada uses AWS Bands 1700/2100 in Canada. This phone is compatible with 4G 2100 as it shows, but not 1700. Do you think I will have 4G connectivity? Or 3G?
I bought one one from Lenteen and the 4G works perfectly in France with SFR
Does anyone know if flashing CM11S onto China OnePlus Ones will unlock the international bands? The CM11S factory image has a radio image. CM11 builds also include a radio.
Asking because I'm not receiving LTE signal on my China OPO that I've flashed to CM. Then again I have yet to try my SIM on another LTE enabled device...

I've flashed Chinese OnePlus ONE with CM 11S and am still missing the AWS bands (Wind, Mobilicity, T-Mobile USA)

Well, yes and no. I brought back 3 Chinese OPO from Beijing, and flashed the first via fastboot while transiting in Tokyo - that one would NOT work in any of the Japanese carriers (using two different SIM - Fido from Canada and TuneTalk from Malaysia) while Samsung Galaxy S3 worked fine. The second one I flashed once back in Canada via the standard recovery method as described by GizChina, and that one does not work on AWS band when tested with Wind Mobile SIM while Fido & Speakout SIMs worked awesome
Given my Japanese experience I'm not inclined to think the fastboot flash is any better than standard recovery flash

Has anyone using the OPO on ATT and have no problems with 4G LTE?
I heard some people got it to work but then when it looses LTE connection it doesnt drop to 3G so the connection is lost or the call is dropped.
Please let me know if anyone has this situation happening.
Thanks!
i have chinese oneplus one and i havent use 4g in Turkiye
I am using T-Mobile US and I noticed that they use different bands. When I go in engineering mode 11 Bands are checked but the rest a dim. Is there a way to enable certain bands so I can get 4g? Currently I can only get 4g in major cities like when I go to chicago

I did not get 4G with T-Mobile in NY either.
'Jiayu S3 discussion/support MEGA Thread' OP page mentions
Code:
Bands: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHZ - WCDMA 900/1900/2100MHZ
TD-SCDMA 1900/2000 - TDD-LTE B39 B40 B41 - FDD-LTE B3 B7 B20
Several other android smartphone flagships do not support all frequencies/bands worldwide.
If we turn on all the bands maybe
I'm eyeing this phone to replace my well worn S5. Does anyone know for sure if the x727 variant has the UMTS B4 1700/2100Mhz? The listings on the various Chinese sites are hit and miss, that's why I'm looking for first hand info. Based on my research the x720 appears to have 3G band 4, but it is unclear if the x727 does.
Thanks!
x727 is the NA version, which launched alongside the US version of Le Eco's online store. It supports B2/4/12 and VoLTE + WiFi calling on T-Mobile.
I'm planning to use it on Freedom Mobile in Canada on their 3G network (not LTE), that's why AWS band 4 on 3G is a requirement.
Thanks.

T-Mobile US also relies on 1700/2100 AWS B4 for HSPA/UMTS. LTE discovery shows the LTE band, so I'm not sure how to do the same for HSPA.
I found the FCC application for the x727 and the SAR exposure report lists WCDMA band 4 @ 1700Mhz, so I'm good to go. Coincidentally it appears the device has the highest radiation level on that band.

I bought an SM-G950U1 (US Unlocked) from Best Buy. Does any one know if it supports TDD LTE Band 40 (2300 MHz)?
There is conflicting information on this! Answers given in various specs vary as follows:
YES (it supports LTE Band 40) --- according to specs given by sellers like Best Buy, B&H, and many online sites like gsmarena, phonearena, frequencycheck.com, etc.
NO (does not support LTE Band 40) --- according to the Samsung support person I talked to over the phone. Also, the FCC filings for SM-G950U do not list TDD LTE Band 40 (they have only one TDD band listed, Band 41, presumably for Sprint). On the other hand, although TDD LTE Band 41 is actually known to work with the SM-G950U1, the official Samsung SM-G950U webpage does not list any TDD band at all, not even Band 41 (it lists only FDD LTE bands).

Does anyone know the real answer here? Has anyone actually tested the SM-G950U1 for Band 40 support in a suitable country (Peru, South Africa, India, Australia)?

I don't have a carrier that would have Band 40, but here is the thread which lists all bands for different versions of S8. You can try asking there as well.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/samsung-galaxy-s8-compare-network-t3597705
Thanks. I have posted to the thread you mentioned. It is surprisingly hard to find the answer to such a simple question for such a flagship device!

Band 40 LTE is there. Open phone and dial *#2263# and it will list all bands active in the phone, including 40. It is in mine.
Thanks Danny Noman! The *#2263# code did work and showed Band 40. Wonderful!
One question: The *#*#4636#*#* info menu does not seem to work on the S8 (works on many other android phones). Any idea what might be an equivalent for the S8?
I tried looking online for the list of supported bands, and there's one in particular that does show in some sites, and others, it doesn't.
Can someone confirm if B28 (700Mhz APT) is supported by this phone?
Interested in B7 (2600Mhz), B4 (AWS 1700/2100) & B28 (700Mhz APT). B2 would be a nice have.
Thanks!
The cell phone supported B28 B2 B4 The B7 does not support it
I currently use the B28 and B4
Fwiw, my 1962-6 works fime in U.S. of AT&T...zero connection or signal issues easretn U.S.
