I got a realy strange problem with my D802, this came up out of the blue.
About 2 weeks ago I suddenly lost all network functions, for a few hours, then it came back again. Later I had only 2G and realy bad phone reception. The other morning everything was fine until a few hours later I was offline again. It was just then it came to me to check my imei and it was gone
At the time I was on stock 30B with one of Dorimanx' kernels. I was using this combo for a few days already so neither rom or kernel caused this.
Since this problem occurred I've been busy with this, searching the net, flashing all kinds of KDZ's, Kernels, Roms and what else but to no evail.
I did backup my original EFS partition but restoring doesn't help. been trying to put my imei back with QPST and EFS professional but NOPE!!
Rightnow the issue has changed slightly, when I (re)boot my Device I got no imei but after a while, can be a few minutes or maybe an hour the imei comes back.
I'm out of ideas, hope any of you guys can help :fingers-crossed:. Rightnow my G2 is nothing more then a really small tablet with phone functionality when it feels like it. And I feel like turning it in to a frisbee
I put a logcat from boot there ---> http://pastebin.com/kdR13DaR
Current setup stock 30B, stock Kernel, no Xposed
Thanks in advance
Edit: added last_kms log.
Have you tried flashing a modem? Maybe it could help

Yeah tried that also. No luck
Besides: A KDZ comes with the proper modem doesn't it?
Is there a particular piece of hardware that could be damaged or could it be the main board?
All the other stuff is working fine on my phone

That was not exactly what I had in mind. Last_kmsg is the dmesg from before the latest restart. I hope that there might be a telling message during boot, so you need to restart again and capture a current dmesg. You can do that on a command line by typing
dmesg >/sdcard/msg.txt

Yes, the new file is the one I sought. Unfortunately, it didn't tell me what's wrong with your phone. Maybe someone else is more clever...
If you haven't already done so, I suggest you try another sim-card.

As a matter of fact its not even asking for a sim or giving the "missing sim"notification when it's out.

your boot Logs seems okaay refers to the software but the Hardware part of SIM mainly the logical board may leaks or got some electrical hiccups sometimes the OEM get fail in inventing logical board that comes with no IMEI show or even it works but not everytime flash a KDZ and dont root head for your warranty center and they'll change the LOGICAL BOARD you may backup your data before you go

Sorry for this awfully late reply mate ?
I got caught up searching for a decent chinese phone to replace this G2, but no winners there Hehe.
I lost my warrantee already because of a screen replacement. So I scored a G2 with broken screen (plus original charger ?) for a few euros to try to swap the motherboard coming weekend ?

Well, today I tried setting up ClockworksMod so I could easily backup and restore my phone as needed. (As previous work i had caused issues and it wouldnt reboot until i reinstalled the rom)
Well, clockworkmod recovery would not install through the app, so I installed the image through Odin, and that worked flawlessly. I was able to backup and restore.
After it booted back up I was unable to add a new google account or erase the old one. Factory resetting it would casue it to get stuck in the boot loop again, until i restored it or reflashed.
Eventually I tried flashing another image, with repartition turned on.
Well, without surprise Windows 7 semi crashed and killed Odin.
Now when my phone "turns on" all i see is black. Nothing happens. I cant do any of the 3 button combos to get into Recovery or Download mode
Can anybody help me? I need to get this working ASAP!
Thanks
Edit : I need to check my eyes. I thought you can get into download mode.
If you cannot get to download mode with the 3-button-combo then you'll need a jig.

Uhm, why did you check repartition?
Also yes, you will need a jig. That's pretty much the only thing that can get you into download mode in this situation.

Yes I did, was that something I shouldn't have done?
It sat on repartitioning for about 15 minutes, then windoes said Odin stopped responding and it killed it :/
I've been telling everybody to stop using the .pit files and repartitioning the device for every flash as you're just increasing the possibilities of things going wrong but people don't seem to take notice. Sadly in your case something did go wrong. You only need to use the .pit files and repartition the device if you mess up your partition table.
Those guys at Samfirmware really need to stop telling people to repartition their device for every flash.

Once my Jig comes in, I'll let you all know how it goes!
check if the phone heatens up extremely as soon as you put the battery in. if yes, thats a really bad sign.
a jig will only help you if you see anything on the screen. if the phone/screen doesn't react to ANYTHING, that's a full brick (happened to me too, jig didn't help, nothing helped, phone was completely dead and i had to send it in. fortunately, they repaired it within warranty).

See, this is what I was trying to say! I read everywhere that if somethign is on the screen the Jig will work, otherwise it wont. Others are replying to me here saying it should still work for me
I'm not too worried about it. I have 4 of the phones. I work closely with Samsung and they were given to me. It would still be nice if it recovers, so we will see!
i guess in situations where it was reported to work under these conditions the owners didnt fully exploit all different possibilites to get it back on and so they just came up with this false assumption.
nonetheless, it's worth a try. at least, the jig is pretty useful to remove the yellow exklamation mark and to reset the flash counter .

I'm not saying it will work for sure, what I'm saying is depending on the damage done it may still get you into download mode so you can flash the firmware.

to be precise, it's the "custom binary counter" which counts up as soon as you flash something modified manually on your phone. has nothing to do with your problem, though.
We need to find the way to boot the device externally, i.e. bootloader on ext. SDCard or the likes....
No I'm sure we're all aware that there are quite a few issues with Wifi not working on S4 with certain ROMs/Kernels/Modems etc etc.
Now I've tried so many ROMs stock & custom, loads of different Modems, an assortment of Kernels and many tricks/hacks to try and get it working but nothing.... absolutely nothing.
I'm currently on ParanoidAndroid 3.99-RC2 27/12/13. Wifi obviously won't switch on, it can't seem to even find the MAC address even though the file is there to be read from and I can view it as a text document. Even more strange is that under the '/Data/misc/wifi/' folder, all that is in there is one file called 'softap.conf' and a folder called 'sockets'. Now I haven't actually deleted the 'wpa_supplicants.conf' file, it was just never created, along with the rest of the contents for that folder. Unless what I read about Symlinks the other day meant that the actual working folder has changed recently.
But list of things I have tried:
Deleting .cid.info file
Deleting wpa_supplicant.conf file
Editing build proper 'Ro.secure.storage=false' attribute
Doing the SQlite trick
Pulling the battery whilst it's on
Using programs like Wifi Fixer - they just tell me my wifi is stuck
Using *#0011# to turn off power saving
Selecting the Wifi Region Code
Unticking Wifi Optimisation
Changing Wifi during sleep action
Using *#*#4696#*#*, It states "Configured Networks: Disabled", "Wifi State: Disabled" and "Supplicant Sate: UNITIALIZED"
More testing:
Different Modems
Different Kernels
Different ROMs
Different Wifi-Fixes
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated or any addition tricks to try that may help.

1- Turn off ur phone. Go to DOWNLOAD MODE and Flash THIS (unrar it before) in Odin as PHONE/CP!!
2- When u finish the process ur phone will reboot
3- Try if u have WIFI. If not make a factory reset:
- Make a Internal Memory backup
- From your home screen press the apps icon in the lower right corner.
- Find and press the settings icon.
- In the upper end of the screen press the accounts tab.
- In the bottom of the next screen press the Backup and reset button.
- Press the factory data reset.
- Read the info on your cell phone screen and hit Reset device.
Unfortunately after going back to the stock ROM, I have tried both, I did the Wifi-Fix again, just to humour myself, but it didn't work. Though since going back to Stock ROM it is able to find the MAC address, which it wasn't doing on AOSP ROMs. Short of rooting the device again and fiddling with files I don't know what else I can try on completely Stock to make it work

Hi, I hope someone can help me.
I have a Nexus 4 that I bought with fault.
It was stuck at the boot logo.
I have reinstalled everything back to stock using Nexus root toolkit. I also have done it manually using cmd. And various other ways I have found after googling it.
The only way I can get it to boot is if I install 4.2.0. It then starts up fine. It then finds an update to JB which it installs and then I`m back to the stuck boot logo again!
Now you are probably thinking why don't I just leave it at 4.2.0. I want Kitkat..
I have tried just about every link I can find and I appreciate some of you will try give me links which I may or may not have tried.
BUT I am desperate now.
I have rung up Google who said they would change the phone for me under warranty. The only issue is that they told me it was bought from America so it has to go back to the country of origin.
Any help would be gratefully received cheers John.
To add to this I have no imei number, no baseband, no Bluetooth address and no ip address does this help?
Download the Factory Image in https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=pt-br#occamkot49h and use the "flash-all.sh" script contained therein. I had similar problem because I forgot a piece of the command, this script solved.

Probably a board failure, I doubt it's fixable.
I've got a hard problem... I had to change my i9300 motherboard because of a power issue, and at the beginning everything worked just fine. I installed a different rom and everything looked fine as well. When I wanted to send a text message, I noticed there was no network. I can't get it to work now. The IMEI on the back of the phone is differente from the imei that shows pressing *#06# but it's weird because in the beginning I could even call and send text messages. I've tried different roms and nothing. I've only got a backup of the efs folder from the previous motherboard... There's no "0000" or "0049" What can I do?

You say you swapped the mainboard, in that case the imei will be different to what is on the phone, you will have a new NAND chip, therefore a new /efs folder. Try flashing a stock rom again, if you see the same issue it's probably an efs issue, which will require another motherboard swap. However if it works, it's probably something to do with the rom you flashed, or an efs/modem incompatability issue.

It's always best to check a stock ROM first, some issues get resolved with that (for instance if a file in a custom rom was corrupted.)

In that case you probably have a corrupt efs, without a backup of the efs on your current motherboard you will need another replacement, did you swap the board yourself, or did a service centre swap it for you?

I was VERY stupid. I went back to stock Oxygen OS using a fastboot image and now if I dial #*06# the IMEI box shows up but no IMEI number is actually in the box it is just blank. I did post about this before but last time I didn't really know what happened I was asking if anyone could tell me what they thought happened. I am pretty sure I screwed up the EFS partition and I am just wondering what I need to do now. Is there some way I can repair it I mean I don't have a backup. Can I contact OnePlus support? I really need help.

This happened to me a few times in the past, all I had to do was wipe dalvik and cache again and it came back. Not sure if it's the same issue but I would give it a shot. Just boot into recovery and wipe them again and see if it gets you back up and running.

I cannot use that because my device is not hard bricked and it will not install the driver since I can enter the bootloader normally.
Not sure if you've seen this post its based on the post above but I think it just uses fastboot. Don't know if it will work for you, but figured it would be worth a shot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62973446&postcount=2
I tried using the tool and it did not work, I purposely hard bricked the device to try it and still no signal or imei. Another problem is WiFi takes about 4 minutes just to turn on but I can live with that I just want service.
Basically flashing back the stock should bring back the efs. Let's see if someone has a solution. Sorry!
EFS files are unique to each phone. If the EFS is corrupt or damaged, and there is no backup, I don't know of any way to fix it ;_; You can try OnePlus support but they aren't as dumb as carrier warranty or other phone manufacturers. They'll be more likely to know what you did.
It is possible to restore your imei number, I did it on my brothers lg g2. It requires some software for PC (I can't remember the name, you'll have to google it) and the box your phone came in with the imei number. It is possible, so don't lose hope!

Is it called QPST configuration? If so all I need help with is getting the phone to be recognized by the tool. Don't you need it to be on some COM port or something?
