Recently I bought an I9100 in China and I am trying to flash it with an Brazilian or European Rom, but every time I got an error.
I can only flash the Chinese Rom.
I am using Odin 1.85 and the Official Roms downloaded from this forum.
Anyone knows what is wrong?
Thanks in advance,

Give the EXACT model number of your I9100. There are various submodels, and yours may be "special" or a fake.

Thats correct, the Chinese version has different bootloaders which will reject any firmware except Chinese.
Can I do the Root and apply custom ROM?
Can I do the Root and apply custom ROM? E.G. Cyanogen Rom?
Can you help-me? I have the same problem, I live in Brazil and would like to remove these restrictions.
Tanks a Lot.
So,first you should delete the md5 suffix after code.tar
then, use 7-zip to delete boot.bin param.lfs sbl.bin in the code.tar, and you can't flash modem with odin, you can only flash chinese modem with cwm.
finally you can flash other rom
enjoy it

Yes it can be done via JTAG.
hey geeks of xda,
I own a note 3 sm-n9005 unlocked and was running nf4 firmware recently i update it to ng1 by ota and everything was fine i rooted and installed custom recovery..later on i installed a custom rom (mokee open source ) since the build wasn't stable i tried to revert back to stock by flashing nf4 (as i had only that firmware downloaded ready ,there comes my nightmare my baseband version unknown and imei null....
question is does ng1 have some updated bootloader ? and is it possible to solve the baseband and imei issue by downloading and flashing ng1 again instead of nf4? just wanna confirm before i downloading ng1 as data costs is a bit expensive ...
brief question : does ng1 has updated boot loader compared to nf4? thanks a lot in advance for the response

no need to dl again whole rom but mlodem NG1 and flash with odin. The Bootloader is not important and doesn't change anything.
You will find the modem on alexandr or civato thread...

Hi all, just updated the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to CyanogenMod 5.1.1 ROM. Phone doesn't recognize SIM card (I live in UK) anymore, baseband is showing as "unknown" under the About Phone section. Please can someone let me know where I can download the Baseband/Modem firmware for SM-N910F?
Many thanks!
You could attempt to download the full stock firmware by either using 'Samfirm' or the website 'Sammobile'
Unbranded Note 4 CSC is BTU but it is currently still on Android 5.0.1 but the modem and bootloader will still work fine with Cyanogenmod ROMs.
Right, I did download the official Samsung firmware N910FXXU1BOC5 from a website, but when flashing with Odin 3.09 I was getting a error. So I ended up using the customized ROM which didn't seem to have the baseband/model inside. How could I extract the baseband from the official firmware in MD5 format?

Bootloader
Modem
Put your phone in download mode manually (Pull the battery out and put it back in after 10 seconds and then hold volume down + Home button and power on the device) Then connect it to your PC and run Odin as Admin and flash the bootloader and modem.
Make sure you uninstall Kies if you have it installed.

Hi mate,
I have a quick question with which I hope you can help (if you have the time of course ). There is a newer firmware version for UK, which is COK3 (and O2, which is what I have), and I'd like to update to this one, but the only way I know would be to update the phone entirely and then root it again and install whatever mod rom I'm using from there. However, this would be a painful lot of work. Do you know (or mind sharing) how to extract the baseband from an official md5 release so as to update this only or as well as the bootloader? Is there any way to put the entire firmware md5 file on Odin and tell the software to update just one thing?
I saw that you did just that above and I'm having some trouble with the phone connection being lost quite often, so it would be of great help.
Many thanks in advance for your help mate!
Cheers

Thanks for the quick response mate! You are the man! I still have a couple of questions though. Firstly, what's the difference between the cp and bl files in the link in your signature? I take it that bl stands for bootloader, but not sure of what cp stands for then. In any case, the most important bit I need/want is the baseband, and since I'm in the UK and my network carrier is O2, I believe the XXU1COK3 (as per Sammobile) would be my best bet, is that right? Will it make much of a difference with the XXU1COJ3 that I have installed right now? In any case, is the bl-cok3.tar file in your link the same XXI1COK3 baseband?
Secondly, that other post that you included is for a galaxy s3 and within that topic they link to a galaxy s4 topic, will those files and guidelines also work for our note 4?
Finally, I have TWRP recovery and within advanced backup I can individually backup the boot (which I imagine is the bootloader) and the modem (which I suppose is the baseband as such). Do you know if I could I install a new firmware through Odin and, backup the modem and boot, and then restore everything but those two things from an different rom backup? Have you ever tried?
Thank you for your time bro! I know that these might be a little bit of a newbie's questions but for more thar I search, I can't find anything close enough to answer what I'm asking.

In the bootloader and modem folders I have included the latest Odin, if you use that the 'CP' and 'BL' will make sense.
CP= Modem
BL=Bootloader
The steps should still work for the Note4.
I don't back-up and restore bootloaders or modems using TWRP.

Aah OK, that makes sense. But then the modem I am talking about is not in that list, is it? However, the bootloader is I think. Is there any chance you could extract the xxu1cok3 modem for the UK and O2 to add it to your list? ?? Pretty sure other people would appreciate it too, I know I would :good:

The modem isn't COK3, only the bootloader was.
The modem was COJ3.

I don't see a point in doing that, it won't make a difference. The firmware does not have a 'COK3' modem. So I can't extract it if it doesn't exist. The O2U firmware had a bootloader of COK3, CSC of COJ1 and modem of COJ3.
If the modem isn't working well then you should flash a stock firmware for your region and apply the appropriate CSC.

Oooooouuuch! Sorry mate, my bad, I must ve read it wrong and only seen what i wanted to see. I was convinced I saw that that firmware release came with modem too.
In any event, thanks mate as you saved me a lot of time wasting with that last attachment
Please I own a SM-910H version of the Galaxy Note 4. I tried to flash the N5 ported Sixperience rom but I was experiencing a bootloop because my bootloader wasn't a lollipop 5.1.1 bootloader. I downloaded the 5.1.1 bootloader (910HXXU1COH4) and for some unknown reason I'm not able to flash via odin. It fails whenever it gets to "sboot.bi". I tried flashing the stock firmware, both lollipop 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 but they all fail when it gets to "sboot.bin". But I'm able to flash Recoveries and 910HXXU2COJ4 bootloader.
I reverted back to stock kernel and recovery and still didn't solve the problem. I tried to flash CyanogenMod 12.1 via recovery it also didn't work.
Please I need help to fix this problem because I'm afraid it might affect me in the coming months if I want to flash android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Below are the information on my phone frmware
from the photo of odin this is n910c bootloader
Yea. When all else was failing then I tried that one too.
I think my thread is in the wrong forum. I'm moving it to the Help and Troubleshooting forum.

there are some methods for splitting the file, or you could re download a 4 file rom

there is firmware 4 files but android ver. 4.4.4
Hi, I don't speak English, but I try to help you.
I have this problem two weeks ago.
So here in xda I found a thread with the solution.
I can't remember the name of program but maybe anyone can tell you.
The program "decompile" or "decompress" (I don't know exactly) the tar file.
So then you delete the sboot.bin and "recompile" (or whatever the program do) the tar and re flash with Odin and the "new" tar file.
This work for me.
Hope you can understand my poor help.
Good luck!
I search and search but can't find the post.
But find this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/help/s6-edge-g925f-odin-flashing-problem-t3141455
And someone say this
"extract the firmware.. Than delete the file from the folder
use the new multitool in development thread to ma Ke a
new tar for Odin.. And flash"
So, I think this "multitool" is the program I used.
Is a DOS interface program.

Edit:
Look at this thread too I'm on my phone, so I can't test the program.

I want to download the full rom and then extract only the modem and flash it
is it possible? how to do it?
found the download link but when I extract all I have is 1 file:
tar.md5
thanks so much!!
Hey are you referring to the official full rom/firmware downloaded from sammobile.com?
I know this sounds ridiculous, but I got around my modem issues by installing the official rom/firmware from the above website (thus installing the proper modem), then flashing everything I wanted from there (TWRP, custom rom, xposed, etc.)
(I couldn't find a mirror for my exact modem...... :s)
Hope this helps

Hi sorry I'm unaware of a rom named "infules v4", but I'd first would go flash stock OFW just to ascertain that its a software/modem fault, rather than a hardware fault.
For instance, me being in Australia and having an Optus sim card, I flashed the firmware package with the XXUHOJ3 Modem in it (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/62513/I9505XXUHOJ3_I9505OPSHOJ1_OPS/).
Assuming you downloaded: (http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/57455/I9500XXUHOI1_I9500OJKHOI1_CEL/);
Open up ODIN and load the firmware to PDA/AP (depending on which version of ODIN you've got).
From there you can root, flash twrp, install "infules v4", and whatever other goodness you like
Note: Just whatever you do, make sure you do a nandroid backup prior
