Hey guys, Haven't been on the forum for well over a year (since i moved up from my Note 2 to Note 4).
I'm overwhelmed by the number of roms and looking for the following.
For N910c
5.0.1 or higher.
Extremely stable.
Better than stock battery life.
Option to debloat. (meaning i want SNote, Shealth, but want the option to remove other stuff like finder and svoice).
NOT AOSP.
Touchwiz not that important since i use nova launcher any way.
Minimal updates. ( I don't want a rom that i'd have to update every week.). Prefer something simple and stable that I can go a couple of months with.
Also stock office compatible. (whatever the stock office is i think hancom)
Full S-pen features working
Finger print working. (this should be in most roms, right?)
Optional but not deal breakers:
Option to record calls.
Option for camera to work below 5%
Back on my Note 2 i liked Wanam, Dr. Ketan, Alliance, and Omega.
Looking forward for your suggestions.
Infinity ROM has been really good, battery last 6 to 7 hours, using the phone all day
Sent from my SM-N910C using Infinity ROM
Any other suggestions? 6 hours is shorter than my stock battery life
He man,
SimplRom is really good in terms of batterylife. Its comes deodexed and with Xposed instller. You can add the apps that you want on their download page in Zip format. Might want to check them out.

Which is the best and most stablest ROM for the everyday use(n9005,(hlte))?
And is cwm installable easy? No blocked bootloader etc?
It's forbidden to ask such questions (best rom).
For everything else there is Google.

And what am I supposed to do? I just wanna to use the most stablest ROM. I am not talking about that all ROMs except one best are bad. I don't wanna testing and so on.
Okay, better question - which ROM are you using daily on n9005?
Don't worry, all roms here for the n9005 are stable. Maybe here and there a feature doesn't work, but that's mostly on the ported roms. But all can be fixed and they don't impact every day usage.
People with other Note 3 variants are having more problems by flashing roms for the n9005. At least that's my observation, and i tried 99,6% of them.
Now I'm using, for the longest time ever, Phoenix rom S5 ported by tyre777. It's good.
And what do you want ? Kit kat or lollipop ?
But have a look at the rom threads yourself too.
Cwm installation is easy. But please, do Google it. I would recommend you TWRP recovery. I find it easier to operate with and it has a nice touch interface. But that's just my opinion.
Bootloader isn't locked.

Thank you for your good answer.
Most necessary things:
1. Fast, stable and good battery life (in stock average battery life was 3 days).
2. Working with S pen and Gear Fit.
Is there something like this for me?

You Don t answer if you want KK or L rom and if TW or not.....
Don't care about KK or L.
Necessary things are
1. Fast, stable and good battery life (in stock average battery life was 3 days).
2. Working with S pen and Gear Fit.
Seems that Phoenix ROM could be alright. If there's other ROM which you are using daily and works with Gear, say about it, please.
Don t have gear.....but masik 3.0 is very good and has nice battery....

If in stock you have already 3 days battery life I think you dont need to change
Problem is that with stock and Phoenix ROM touchscreen sometimes is unresponsive or makes selection in other location. With echoe rom there isn't problem like this, but it's leaking support for Gear and other functions.
I was hoping someone could help me out here, I'm a HTC guy and I recently decided to give the Note 3 a try because it seems more useful for my job. The thing is i never use phone with the stock OS (Sense or Touchwiz) since I am a die hard CM lover.
1. What i want answered is whether the s pen is still useful and as functional on CM 11/12 as it is on the touchwiz rom and if not, what functionality is retained since its the reason I got the Note.
2. What is the best rom CM/Touchwiz/AOSP available for this phone

The best rom is Best Rom. As you said some like this while others like that. No answer to that. People here ways you to try roms yourself and decide. Or better to look at roms thread and see what people say about bugs and functions etc. And what you need. If not sure you can try the most popular ones. I personally never try unpopular roms to avoid unexpected things.
Now I am sticking with cm12 too and it is very stable. I use Temasek unofficial version 9. You cab find it in development forums. Like you I don't like laggy touchwize even if it is useful due to some apps that only work with touchwize. But hey, if you never like touchwize you will not miss that crap. The speed with nova launcher on cm12 is better than my new Note 4 with lollipop, and even almost and scores on antutu. Real life performance is better on my Note 3
I bought note series because of the school and note making with spen. That's why apps like snote are useful.
Spen works as it should but apps are gone as they relay on touchwize framework which is not present in cm12 which is the whole point of cm. There is an spen app in PS that do some things and another one in beta testing here in xda. But i use Microsoft note and if works just like snote but with some less features. Search forums for root and updates if you decide to do it. Or ask here.
Have a nice day
please say rom name and reason
Try is out yourself. Not everyone has the same experience with the same rom.

I have tried few most popular roms for note 3 (even tho its TMO i was using supported ones) and i can tell you that stock lolipop gave me best experience and here is why.
My first rom ever to be flashed was darklord note 5 port by darkera13 and even though it gave me stunning battery idle time it also gave me some bad experiences using camera software which was either poor quality or simply not working when it was needed.
Next I tried s6 port by same developer assuming 5.0.2 base would be much more compatible with our official one but there were some massive memory redraws and weird display brightness bug(screen becomes dim on wakeup).
Since roms above were used as base to other port style roms I dont expect any better from them.(not saying they are bad, contrary, but when stability and reliability is in question ill prefer stock sluggy rom.
I must say that I have never used CM on note 3 so I must leave that to someone else but by the time I am writing this i am using stock and only 5.0 rom provided by TMO on top of lean kernel.(also its massively debloated ).
Cheers,hope it helps!!
AryaMod: Fully featured. Stable. Fluid too (as fluid as stock), and believe some features are really handy, like the alarm notification on lock screen which Samsung omitted from Lollipop. Just use it without Xposed, and you are good to go.

Try tazzy-aurora note 5 port with darklord kernel 1.5 & LS speed mod. Everything works fine and it's really fast with good battery life.
I flashed the s6 settings + stock ui mod (extra mods) and i'm really happy with. Also no camera flickering with darklord kernel
See my sig. Temasek ftw ^^

AryaMod IMO is by far the best Lollipop TW based experience available. I tried literally every single rom from here for 5.0 and nothing compares to Arya when it comes to stability, usage, battery... I highly recommend it!
Always back to cyanogemod CM12.1 = quick, slim, reliable. Only negative is of course the lack of s pen, but you got some third party apps for that.
Used to be great fan of miui, however they are now getting less popular by making their new MIUI 7 lollipop based, which is a sad thing.
Hello XDA,
I've been watching this forum since I've had my HTC Diamond back in the old days. Now I am using a Galaxy Note 3 as my daily driver and I love this phone, but I am the type that likes unique things (I am a web designer so maybe that's why). I currently use Phronesis ROM v4.1 but it has a few flaws like eating too much RAM and some little bugs like the camera app. My question here is which ROM should I use with my Note 3 ?
I want to be stable to use as a daily driver and I'd like to have the apps for the S-Pen like S Note and Memo. Also I want to be lightweight and fast, this phone has 3 GB of RAM, I want at least 1 GB to be free for my use like games and multitasking and maybe a custom launcher.
So please recommend me a good and stable ROM because my internet connection is slow and as much as I like to test new ROMs I really can't because of this.
I am not sure if the different variants of the note 3 has an affect on the stability of it or not. But I am running resurrection remix on my Canadian N900W8 and its awesome right now.
Resurrection remix looks to be a CM rom. I try to stick with touchwiz based roms out of preference. My current that has worked well is Sac23 and norma S6 8.0. No real problems with it, ive just been getting the itch to try something new.
CM rom is best for having least possible consumption of ram. But there's no multitasking feature in it. Not only multi tasking but other important apps like S Note, Action memo etc. I first had CM rom but went back to stock coz I love the stock features.

You can try Audax ! I've had it for two months and i think is the rom you're looking for ! Personally I would not change Phronesis with nothing else, but everyone has their own needs

AryaMod 8.1 -> Based on recent Stock 5.0 firmware -> has loads of Mods in ROM Control App (also few in OTA Updates) -> Xposed can be flashed -> Can select Idle kernel while flashing as Option -> No bugs as far as I know (been my daily driver for nearly an year now)
Thank you guys for recommending me some good ROMs, today I've downloaded Norma ROM v20, tomorrow I will try AryaMod and maybe in about a week I will finally decide of which ROM i should choose.
If you are a Flashaholic like I am and want the most recent Marshmallow flavor, use temasek's CM13 (see my sig). You can use your pen there, too. Some apps installed for pen detection + Squid as SNote replacement and you are set. If you want to keep your TouchWiz flavor, the recommendations above are fine, but feel free to try the few Note 5 ports, too, because these are more recent.
I am just telling my experience, all the Dev's are best, they are the ones who let me explore more in around android and it's versions.
I used custom roms on k5 plus 3gb for 2 years i think.
It was like first few months i used the original rom and then i voided the warranty with custom roms as i saw more possibility and newer versions of android coming better than what i had. I kept exploring every part of the phone, and whatever softwares i could use and get more from this phone. Few roms lasted around 4-5 months. I love the nougat roms still, there is a Android Q rom already here, amazing. It was a good experience, until this last few months i started to have battery drain faster when i would use the hotspot feature or use bluetooth for headsets, and gps was like the most battery drainer. I kept changing roms and seeing what would give more bettery life while using, the sleep/screenoff state uses like no energy and then opposite happen if i use in full brightness outside and gps
Then
today i just tried to see the stock rom backup is working or not, it did, and now i realise that the most stable rom is the stock rom that comes from lenovo. The battery life is just way better than any other roms (+1hour than what you get in current Oreo and pie roms), the performance is back, Dolby Atmos is back and works, the inbuilt vr works.
The apps which were quite heavy lagged in animations in custom roms, stock does it smoothly, and i didn't need to get a small gapps package for performance this time, stock has like most gapps i think and it's smooth.
New stuff like play protect, assistant, well-being, etc are now available for this old lollipop rom as well, most of the features in the future versions are now available to use with simple downloads and a few majisk modules, without harming performance.
i am not sure how secure the rom/os it self is with old security patches. But yeah original rom got to be top 5 in best rom/os available for this device in terms of overall usability in daily life.
Tell me what your experience has been, i will use the stock lenovo again now for sometime. And might get back to custom".:good:

just to add you could try the latest stock ROM our device got wich is MM, and tell us your experience. I'm on it since a lot of time, and I won't move from it anymore.
don't you know the link?
here it is:

it's a TWRP backup made by a Brazilian user and posted here on xda long time ago.

here we go:
go to TWRP and restore only /boot and /system partitions. that's it.
You could share with us how did you feel it compared with LP.
PS: everything is working flawlessly for me. a6020l37 (sd616 2gb RAM single SIM)

Lenovo stock ROM wasn't that bad but after installing Android 10 (AOSP) Custom ROM on my Vive K5 Plus, it's feels a relief.
Yes there are some minor issues & bugs but over all satisfactory experience.
Personally I will always stick with this ROM over Lenovo stock 5.1
Thanks.

Yes, I extended a bit, but not that much as you unnecessary long OP, just to say stock ROM is more battery saver than any custom ROM.

Yep aosp 10 feels good.... I will use it when it gets a bit more updates
AOSP 10 has got another build. I guess the last possible build since Dev may be moving out of Vibe K5 Plus platform.
I have just upgraded to the new build & it's stable enough.
Yes although performance can't be called butter smooth but it's better than previous build & most of the phone features that I may need in daily usage are working fine.
Standby time is good but SoT is on lower side, but I can't blame the ROM, it's my battery which is very old & worn out by now.
Thanks. :fingers-crossed:
The best rom with extended battery life was AOSP extended. i used it for 2 years with Dolby atmos mode and it worked flawlessly. Stock rom eats up battery too fast.
