Note 3 Can't see SIM card after flash to Lollipop !!!! - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good day
I need your help, I just flashed my Note 3 (SM-N9005) with Lollipop 5.0 from sammobile.com
I used odin to do the flash and it ended up successfully pass. Right now, the phone is running with lollipop but it can't detect any SIM card !!!!??
the build number I flashed is for my country and this is the number
N9005XXUGBOEA_N9005OJVGBOE4_N9005XXUGBOD3_HOME.taror
Any hints or help guys??:crying:

Please any help guys
I'm still stuck with this problem, I tried all kinds of ideas after deep searches but non of them work so far
I even rooted my device and tried three custom ROMs but still my note 3 can't detect the SIM card and the IMEI is nul and baseband version is Unknown
any ideas

The issue is you must have chosen the wrong rom for your region. What Country are you in and is your sim from that country?
YOu need to flash a rom based on your CSC and sim ... I've done this a few times before and it always messed up when flashing custom roms, etc. The only way I found to fix it was to flash back to stock rom for my phones original region (ex: if my phone is from Japan, need to flash Japanese official rom for my mobile provider).
That should restore your IMEI and sim card issues.
If you're not sure, you can post back with details of your phone (CSC - region).

thanks for the reply . I can't really tel the exact location or region of my phone. but whe nI look at the box it all written in Bulgarian language.
I will try to flash N9005XXUGNG1_BGL and see what will happen

[Q] How to flash ROM from different region?

Hi,
My SM-N9005 from Vodafone just arrived today and I am trying to flashing it with the Hong Kong ROM (N9005ZHUBMI7_N9005ZZHBMI7_TGY) from Sammobile without much success. Odin started and got a "invalid EXT4" error and the phone was softbricked. I had to use Kies to repair with original ROM to get it up and running again.

Also I have yet to put a sim card in as I heard about the region lock. So if I flash it with the Hong Kong ROM before putting a simcard in, does it mean the region lock will not apply at all? Also is there another way to find out if the phone is carrier locked without putting a sim in? Thanks!
I have same problem, Note 3 buy in France and can't install ROM from TW or HK but work fine with ROM for France and UK.
Look link to region lock, but I don't root the Note 3, if possible don't want but if anyone can confirm should work after do or/and unlock with Chainfire tools ?
Thanks,

No you select firmware upgrade and then it will ask you for the model and your serial number. Once you entered it then it will download the ROM and restore it. It works as I had done it twice already.

thanks man, on it now. I was doing Firmware Emergency recovery and Kies did not do anything to my phone. Coming back from the death
Edit: I think we should flash the same region rom if we want to change?
Just FYI, i have odin my phone from TGY rom to BTU, with file .md5 downloaded from Sammobile. I did not work and got into Invalid ext4 Image. Then I downloaded the BTU rom from "Root da la Vega" thread in Post 2, last Q&A (PDA and CSC), still did not work, with the same error message. So i guess we can not change our CSC? Or maybe if you can get all 4 files for odin (Bootloader, AP, CP, CSC) you can change into different region's rom?
After get the problem I DL ROM from same Area (here Europe) and try French and UK, both work fine, so you need same ROM than your area I think.
This is annoying as it was easy with note 2 both N7100 and N7105, you can just flash any region rom.
So is your Note 3 unlocked or locked to any carrier? Just wondering if that can cause the issues.
I want the TGY ROM because I use the Chinese handwriting input.

[Q] Restoring to Stock ROM

I don't always ask for help online because I believe that whatever problem I have, someone out there already has it, so I just need to look better. Not this time though. I'm literally dying.
I've installed Custom ROMs before and reverted them back to stock before but it was on a Galaxy NEXUS. It was seamless.
I have a n900W8 Note 3, this is the canadian variant. After a long day, I managed to root it and install CWM recovery, but didn't install a custom ROM. The next day (today), I installed an AOSP ROM and it worked fine but I wanted a TouchWiz ROM. After trying out 2 and getting stuck in a bootloop, I went back to the AOSP ROM. I then tried one last one, X-NOTE. Apparently it wiped my internal storage. You should see what happened to me when I realized that.
So I now just want to go back to the stock firmware but that's not easy, because I live in Jordan, which is in the middle east, but my phone is a canadian variant. But, The CSC Code for it was TTT, which is for Trinidad and Tobago. Wait, there's more. When Installing X-Note, it asked me which CSC code do I want to install. it had 5 options I think and TTT wasn't one of them. I chose BTU which is for UK.
So now I want a firmware that isn't carrier locked so I can use whatever SIM Card I put in it.
There's this article, and it says :
"You might find 2 types of firmwares even within a particular model number. Such firmwares are generally known as Branded and Unbranded ones. If your device is locked to a network provider/carrier, it’s a branded device. Therefore you must install a firmware that is meant for your carrier. Similarly, if you are able to use any SIM card on your phone, it’s unbranded, and so you can install any firmware on it that is for unbranded Note 3.", well, how the hell do I know which one is branded and which one isn't :crying:.
Seriously guys, I'm desperate for help. The phone actually isn't mine, that's why I'm freaking out. I still have my Galaxy Nexus and I love it. Even after 3 years, it is still working perfectly. The developer support for it is absolutely amazing.

Help PLEASE!

Hello,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 with 4G (used) and was everything working perfectly. However, to be used, restored factory settings to start used the S4. With that, my SIM card (however recognize other carriers) and did not recognize it, I tried to make the unlock / change firmware / ...
When trying to install a ROM of Brazil, Odin error, coincidentally checked on the mobile screen that had written SGH-I337, logo is a US S4, with I9500XXUGNG3 firmware (4.4.2 Russian). With that, I thought the ROM was blocking my SIN, it tried to install an original ROM that SGH-I337 model and upgrading to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop ... ROM came full of AT & T apps, and left me quite disappointed.
In short, I am with a horrible ROM and without using my SIM card (I'm thinking it's physical problem).
Can anyone help me restore / install a factory ROM, if possible, Lollipop? I'm trying to do one week and could not.
Already, thanks!
Sorry for the English, I'm using a translator.

I had already reported it, but has to take this question .
It is a SGH- I337 . So I can only install roms the i337 AT & T ? Is there any clean rom ?
I already concludes the problem of my SIN card, is that the device 4g band is different from 4g Brazil , therefore, it does not recognize . But he recognizes the other SIN Card 3g Brazil . Will I have to buy a SIN Card 3g or if there is a possibility to change the band that s4 find my SIN card would be even better.
Remembering my S4 had a rom i9500
Before flashing anything else, install the Samsung phone info app to confirm the bootloader version in the phone.
If the bootloader is 4.3 or newer, the bootloader is locked and you cannot install twrp or cwm. You can install safestrap and flash custom Roms based on stock Samsung Roms.

The cool thing is that the i337 was this I9500XXUGNG3 firmware that had the ability to use Portuguese Brazil , I would like to return to this firmware. How I do? I tried by Odin but always of it :
<ID : 0/011 > sboot.bin
<ID : 0/011 > NAND Write Start!
<ID : 0/011 > FAIL !
do you have any idea?
The bootloader is locked so you can't install 9505 firmware on the i337.

which leaves me with great doubt is that it was with this I9500XXUGNG3 firmware stating it was a i9500 .
with this I tried to install android 5.0 thinking that manages to come unlock my SIM CARD and still not resolved . I think a matter of size or shape of the SIM card , seila . I have a lot of headache to solve this.
Do you flashed back to stock i337 firmware and it won't accept your SIM card unless you enter a network unlock code?

I am currently using with another SIM CARD and runs regular without typing unlock code and whatever be 4.4.x as 5.0.
However the rom one that I managed to install this was " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674223 " with root.
So I would like to set up a Stock ROM that was clean , without anything of AT & T , which before I had with I9500XXUGNG3 firmware (including Portuguese Brazil )
Did you put a pin on your sim? Did you enter the sim code too many times and the phone locked the sim?

no ...
Forget History sim card hahaha xD
Can you help me one installing a rom for this i337 without the AT & T ? Preferably a clean like that had previously , as i9500 .
The bootloader is locked on the i337 so you only flash ROMs using safestrap.
If you want to remove ATT apps, you'll have to root and use root explorer to delete them. You could also try Titanium Backup to remove apps.

Galaxy s7 edge weird issue?

Hy all! This is my first thread.
And so sorry for my english.
So I bought a galaxy s7 edge (g935f) from the internet and it has a lot of weird issue...first this phone is a single sim t-mobile (hungary) version, but the software says this is a dual SIM version (935FD) I flashed a full-wipe 4 file from with Odin but after that the problem is still there. If I go to the ONE I menu the first imei is the phone's own imei, but the second imei is just a lot of zeros.
My second problem is that the wireless connections doesn't works.
The Bluetooth can't find any BT devices and the Wi-Fi is recognize only the 5ghz networks.(2.4ghz networks are invisible)
Is it possible to get this phone back to normal?
Is it should work if I try to reinstall the phone with smart switch? That app is download firmware that is match with the phone original carriers Rom.
Thanks in advance.
If the phone is the dual sim one (SM-G935FD) flashing the BTU ROM from SM-G935F (single SIM model) or the INU ROM from the SM-G935FD, it'll detect the second SIM slot that also works as microSD card.
By detecting it, it seems you have an G935FD...
try flashing one of those ROM's I have mentioned above with ODIN and do full wipe of the phone.
That will probably solve everything

Where did you get your phone from? Better return it...

G950FD from Iran (THR) with pre-installed Persian/Iranian Calendar

I bought an unlocked G950FD which turns out to be CSC THR (part of OXM) so should mean it's from Iran. I have found it generic enough in almost every way to be used internationally (in English) with two noticeable exceptions that i'm trying to solve.
1) there is pre-installed Persian Calendar in the OS which appears after the Gregorian date on the AOS and lock screen. I also noticed this extra date appearing on the Samsung Calendar app under the western date, but i don't use this app at all so can easily ignore. The AOS and lock screen is seen all the time and would displays: "MON, JUNE 5 (KHOR 15)". I looked through every settings on the phone and many forums online, and there is no software way to turn this off.
I thought a potential solution would be to replace this stock ROM with another region since any of the multi-CSC OXM firmwares should be compatible with the phone. So I tried to flash another region using Odin. I tried Singapore (SIN and STH) and completely reset/wiped the phone two separate times. However, despite flashing a large (almost 6GB) file onto the phone it still remains in THR when i looked in settings. I guess I misunderstood the purpose of different firmware regions, I thought i would be changing my phone's existing firmware to another region and get a different set of default apps and localization behavior. But the Persian date is still there on all the same screens.
Am I flashing the rom incorrectly? Is there some setting that i omitted that would give me the desired result of a Singapore OS? Any other ways to change CSC and get rid of unwanted parts of a regional firmware?
2) Another problem is when i receive calls on my local sim card, the phone number shows up without the country code, but if i store my numbers (on Google contacts) in "+<country code> <phone number>" format then the contact is not linked to the incoming call.
Apparently this is fairly common with international phones being used in another market. There is a workaround where i can edit my numbers on google to not have any numerical country codes but instead use the flag drop-down menu on google to indicate country associated with the number. I'm ok with that solution but is there another way? Would flashing a regional firmware that is my location solve this? The region that i intend to use the phone is not part of the OXM multi-CSC list of countries since they only sell the snapdragon variant here.
I would like to find solutions that would avoid root and custom roms, but if that is the only option here, i am not against going down that route.
Thanks a lot in advance.
My eventual solution and what i've learned.
So as i described above, i tried to flash many different versions of G950FD or G950F firware with multi-CSC OXM, but never saw my CSC change from THR. Nothing changed on my phone despite installing large files through odin which was always confusing to me. For the record, i tried BTU (UK), STH (Singapore), and SIN (Singapore) which are all part of the OXM.
I learned from another forum that the sim-card installed matters, so i was just trying different non-middle-east regions by picking UK or Singapore but my actual home region does not support this model/cpu variant. I don't have a sim-card from any OXM regions, only Hong Kong and US ones.
Then i found an old Australian (Optus) sim card from a trip and found a G950F firmware version with CSC OPS on Updato. Not part of CSC OXM but same PDA/Phone version and was told it's safe to flash. When i flashed that firmware with the AU sim card installed, i got the AU OS and all the old regional apps were gone. I got some Australian ones but nothing i can't uninstall. My caller ID problem also seem to be fixed. So i consider the problem fixed.
In all of this, the PDA version numbers were always the same (AQDG), so i'm still a bit unclear as to what the CSC file is specifying and doing.
Am i correct to assume that multi-CSC OXM firmware contained regional apps/settings for all the various regions but without a sim card installed to tell it which one to pick, it kept selecting the factory region of THR? And when i flashed the Optus firmware, did i really need the sim-card installed? Would it have changed the firmware to OPS because it's outside the multi-CSC OXM group?
You live in Hong Kong, right ?
I do too, and have a UAE S8, and Samsung Pay doesn't work.
Does your working around things allow you to use Pay, or you get stuck on the splash screen as well ?

Yes i live in HK, so with the AU Optus Firmware I got a AU version of Samsung Pay with all AU ads and suggested businesses. I can get past the splash and login using my normal Samsung Account, which shouldn't have a region. BUT so far i haven't had any success adding any of my HK credit cards, i assume it's a version compatibility issue. There is no way to pick which regional version of Samsung Pay on the Play Store, so i guess it looks at your phone's origin to determine that part of the app.
I am not that keen to use Samsung Pay, but of course interested to know if it is possible. It says to call the banks to get my credit cards added, so maybe there is still a chance and i will post if i do succeed.
Do you think Samsung Pay is particularly good for HK? Would using Android Pay be comparable here? I'm not that experienced with mobile payment apps in the past. Seems like the membership card storage function will still work on my Samsung Pay so at least i have that and can slim down the wallet a bit.
Hey there buddy,
Finally found a thread that represents my problem also, in my case i have a s8 G950FD that shows the same thing on my lockscreen, by me it shows (KHOR18)!
Is there any way around it, i mean a fix?? I would greatly appreciate any help
Yes that's the Iranian calendar date so the day will increment everyday. Khor is abbrev for the current month.
Yes I have a solution (read my second post in thread) but involves flashing with a sim card and 950f or 950fd firmware of the same region as the sim card. You will need to reset and erase phone data.
If you need help flashing stock firmware there is a long thread on this forum and where I found the answer about how the sim card installed might make difference.
What region/sim are you currently trying to use your s8?

Hey there again,
Thank you very much for the time. I am in SE Europe, to be more precise Republic of Kosovo. My SIM is from Kosovo ( we are considered i believe to be in Europe carrier wise)
I do need help flashing the phone as i have no experience whatsoever i just recently switched from Iphone to Samsung, this being said i must also mention the fact that i would definitely need help. I dont want to mess up the phone i just got it like 2 days ago
Things to consider:
- You can flash both 950F and 950FD firmware on your 950FD.
- You need to find your desired firmware. And that region needs to match your sim card, use Updato or SamMobile but the firmware package is a >3GB file and takes a while to download. Make sure you only look for versions for model 950F or FD.
- You will need to download Odin and Samsung usb drivers to flash the firmware onto your phone. Follow the thread "OFFICIAL STOCK Firmware-update (Odin) thread Samsung GALAXY S8 SM-G950F" for the guide.

If you decided to go the "SIM card CSC" method then follow this step by step:

But I personally think you should do it through flashing a firmware with odin but properly and pay attention to step 6:

Yes, if you are changing country/code of CSC, then the system needs to recalculate the partitions.
And don't forget no short cuts! Every step should be done.
Good luck.
