Galaxy s7 edge weird issue? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hy all! This is my first thread.
And so sorry for my english.
So I bought a galaxy s7 edge (g935f) from the internet and it has a lot of weird issue...first this phone is a single sim t-mobile (hungary) version, but the software says this is a dual SIM version (935FD) I flashed a full-wipe 4 file from with Odin but after that the problem is still there. If I go to the ONE I menu the first imei is the phone's own imei, but the second imei is just a lot of zeros.
My second problem is that the wireless connections doesn't works.
The Bluetooth can't find any BT devices and the Wi-Fi is recognize only the 5ghz networks.(2.4ghz networks are invisible)
Is it possible to get this phone back to normal?
Is it should work if I try to reinstall the phone with smart switch? That app is download firmware that is match with the phone original carriers Rom.
Thanks in advance.

If the phone is the dual sim one (SM-G935FD) flashing the BTU ROM from SM-G935F (single SIM model) or the INU ROM from the SM-G935FD, it'll detect the second SIM slot that also works as microSD card.
By detecting it, it seems you have an G935FD...
try flashing one of those ROM's I have mentioned above with ODIN and do full wipe of the phone.
That will probably solve everything

Where did you get your phone from? Better return it...

Download samsung phone info app from play store. Find all your phone info chipset etc . .if you have exynos chip flash btu firmware or if Qualcomm then flash t-mobile one as you said it's saying t-mobile.....
But if you can, return it because as you said bt and wifi issues.
......it could be possible if you flash seller don't accept return.

Phone info app says it is an exynos modell.
My original firmware Was TMH at this moment i use the superman nougat rom and the problem is still there. What's so special with that BTU rom?
I found one BTU rom (4file) in tsar3000.com but that rom is 6.0. Can i flash it?

[Q] G900F Network registration problem after flashing

Hi I have international version of S5 G900F. I flashed the phone with UK BTU stock rom. Now the problem is I cannot connect to the Network.
I tried going to Settings->More Networks -> Network Operators -> Select automatically . It took 5-10 mins to search but cannot connect.
Sim is not locked as it was working before I flashed the stock rom. also I read somewhere in internet that once the phone is region unlocked, it is permanently unlocked to use any other country sim. I don't know the original region of my phone but I bought it in Uk from 3rd party dealer not from any carrier.
I can think of two thing at the moment. It should be either regional locked again, but it does not prompt any thing to activate or enter pin or anything like that. or it should be wrong modem.
Is there a way to find if the phone is region locked ?
and is there a way to find correct region of the phone ?
the label on the box was removed so I cannot find from the box as well.
Thanks in advance.
I still haven't fixed this problem. Could someone suggest how to fix?
I've attached some screenshots with my phone info.
first image shows NETWORK:UNBLOCKED and IMEI Certi: PASS
-> I think this means, the phone is not blocked by network, and IMEI certificate has passed so it's not stolen or lost claimed phone.
another screenshot is the Firmware and CSC code/country information,
-> this means, this phone is build to sell in UK, so UK sim should unlock the regional lock.
Also the phone was working fine before I installed stock rom which I dowloaded from sammobile.
in the sceenshot, one of the network is connected but it says emergency call only because it cannot register to the network.
It is not sim lock also, because when I put T-mobile sim it does not ask for pin to unlock also.
what is wrong here. any idea guys? xda supposed to be the biggest android forum and samsung s5 is one of the most popular phone at the moment, isn't there anyone who have similar problem and solved? or atleast give some reason this cannot be fixed at all.
does the TMobile sim work? does it register with the network? If yes, then call the provider (of the other sim) and ask what's going on. Maybe you have a broken sim?

I've tried with Orange sim, and it still cannot register to the network. When I put the orange sim, it pop up a dialogbox asking to choose a network provider, there was two options, T-mobile and orange. So it is detecting the sim, but it cannot register.
And also, I tried my sim in another phone, and my sim works in another phone without any problem.
Did you try to flash the firmware again, and then after that restore factory defaults?

Yes I did, still it didn't work. I emailed samsung customer service with the problem, and they asked me to restore factory defaults.
I did that again but didn't work.
I tried one custom ROM as well. same problem in that rom.
You're rooted? If yes then there might be problem with the modem part of the ROM, can you install the official one part ROM and try with that?

I've installed stock rom several times, and several different versions( from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-G900F&pcode=0 ). Rooted several times, installed modem.bin files several times from many custom rom/ stock rom. None of them worked. I tried installing modem.bin when not rooted as well. And all the attempt failed.
I did everything I could possibly think of , Then I posted the question in the forum.
You have the IMEI ??!? Or it is lost?? Then only per efs-backup…
Or sim is broken…

Sry XanoZuke, I could not do anything to fix this, so I returned the phone and got another handset. I now have Exynos Octa-core version. Found snapdragon version is more power efficient. My phone gets heated very quickly.

Don't worry, I found out that the motherboard was water damaged (the irony of life....), so a bought an LG G3.
Regarding the Exynos chip, I'm never buying anything exynos ever again. The performance is not as solid as Snapdragon and it gets heated really fast. Still, thanks for your reply! ?

Sorry i end up selling the phone as is..
Same deal
My g900f has no mobile services sims fine
I have the same problem.
Cannot connect to network after flashing new ROM. Since then I tried about 10 different original roms and couple custom roms. Number of different MODEMs and BOOTLOADERs but with no joy. SIM card works fine in different phone.
Also I tried to load different CERT files and QCN with Z3X Box but that didn't help either.
I've tried *#0011# command here are results:
with LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto-connect:
imgur.com/i69HCBM
with WCDMA only:
imgur.com/QPbvKHG
and GSM only:
imgur.com/8InhQWQ
It seems that GSM is not working at all.
At this stage I run out of ideas and probably gonna get rid of the phone as it is or use it as pimped-out ipod touch
(sorry for messed up links but I can't post to outside sites yet)

Losing mobile data when flashing G935F ROM on G935FD (Dual Sim)

Hi. I flashed custom ROM for G935F on my G935FD (Dual Sim) after seeing some comments that the dual sim function should work fine as it is the same firmware. Everything went well and dual Sim also work. However, I noted that mobile data no longer works when I am using the dual Sim. If I use only 1 Sim + SD card, the mobile data works great.
I am looking for stock firmware for G935FD, but cannot seem to find one. My phone is unlocked and an South East Asia version.
I try flashing some Stock firmwares from other region like UK or Netherlands, but problem still exists.
Anyone else has the same issue? Any suggestion for fix, please? Thanks.

I dont have the same issue cause I'm on the original firmware.
Check out if the CSC and the firmware are the same by dialing *#1234#
I think however that should be the same.
Download (slow download is free) and install with Odin.

I found the problem and solution myself. I have to manually set the APN for each Sim card... and now it's working fine.
You'll have to wait until sammobile.com gets firmwares for the SM-G935F upload.
check sim manager, sim 1 or sim 2 might be configured to have mobile data off.

Thx, is battery for g935fd not as good as compared with others post for g935f? I feel it does not have much different with note5. I think may be different at battery life with 935f and 935fd even with same exynos cpu...
Hello ...
Can I flash UK G935F firmware on my G935FD version ???????
Mine is unrooted running on Stock FD firmware so far ...
I don't want to root as it would trip KNOX and warranty as well ...

I'm also noticing my battery life is pretty poor compared to everyone else with Exynos. Barely 3h SOT. Considering flashing the single-SIM firmware since I don't use the dual sim functionality, but just guessing at this point. I've tried all the battery cache and hard-reset tricks in the other threads.
@vichet007 You said you haven't noticed a difference, but are you getting good battery life? So many exynos people are reporting 6-7 hour SOT without even trying.
Do you need to have phone sim unlocked to flash new ROM?

Did you SIM unlock your phone before flashing the new ROM? What ROM did you use? are you Globe or Smart Tel? What version of ODIN did you use? I have same problem with you, also using G935FD now and not able to activate mobile data on SIM2. Flashing the G935F is an option I am looking at to be able to use mobile data on both SIMs. Thanks
Guys do you have the WiFi calling on your settings? I lose this feature when I flash the other firmware... smartswitch could not restore the original firmware either..lol

Any differences in your battery life since flashing G935F? Myself and a few others with 935D are seeing pretty poor battery life and a constantly warm device, I'm trying to figure out if I have a faulty device or if it's just the firmware or something constantly running

Note 3 N9005 LTE 4G Doesn't Work, Do I need CSC change?

I've searched the forums and no one seems to have an exact FIX for my issue. So I have a Galaxy Note 3 N9005 32GB black version, the phone works well in 3G, never had an issue with it but now my network provider recently upgraded their plan and offers 4G internet but my phone doesn't want to connect. The provider offers 4G through BAND 1 2100MHz and Note 3 N9005 does have that band but it doesn't want to connect. It only works on 3G and when I enable Mobile Data it says H+! Not once has it connected to 4G!
I wanna mention that my friend has the exact same N9005 phone and his phone works on 4G all the time. Both of us have the same contract with the same network provider!
The only difference between our phones is the CSC region, we have different CSC. MY SIM card works in 4G on his Note 3 and his sim card doesn't work on 4G on my phone. (we exchanged the SIM cards for testing). So the problem is from my phone not from the SIM card. My phone is also original, its not a Chinese clone! Its confirmed with "Samsung Phone Info" app from Play Store.
Here's a few things I already did that some of you may be inclined to recommend to me:
1 - My APN is correctly set
2 - I am on official stock Android Lollipop 5.0 latest version and the phone is not rooted
3 - I already did a factory reset + wipe cache partition
4 - I saw others suggesting that people may not be in the range of a 4G tower! Not the case! Like I said, I switched the SIM cards with my friend on a public bench, out in the open, not even behind walls. Of course and his phone connects to 4G with his SIM card and also with MY SIM card while my phone doesn't connect to 4G with neither of these SIM cards.
5 - In Mobile Networks > Network Mode, my phone is of course already set on 4G/3G/2G (auto connect) and by the way, my friend's Note 3 says LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) instead of 4G/3G/2G with the same language set on both phones. Why?? I know its the same thing and I know 4G stands for LTE and 3G for WCDMA but why does it appear differently on these phones?
6 - I already went to Service Mode via *#0011# and manually selected BAND 1 LTE, it says "no service" or "emergency calls only" if I do that so I switched back to "Automatic"
So what the heck is going on? This phone is giving me headaches! I'm close to smashing my phone! After this I sweared to my self this is the last Samsung phone I ever buy. Probably I will be switching to Asus or Lenovo in the future. Or any other phone that does NOT have this CSC BS! This CSC thing is a complete rip-off!
Im thinking that the problem could be my CSC perhaps?? My friend's Note 3 N9005 has a COA CSC (Cosmote Romania) and I have a XEF CSC (Unbranded France). Both phones are factory unlocked and work in all networks. They are not branded by any phone maker! His COA CSC is unbranded. Yes it belongs to a phone retailer but that retailer doesn't brand their phones, no bloatware, no SIM lock. If you buy a phone from Cosmote (with COA CSC) it works in all networks, unlike Vodafone or Orange who lock their phones and brand them.
What should I do? Should I attempt to change my CSC? If so, how? My phone warranty has expired a long time ago, so I shouldn't care that much about triggering Knox though not triggering it would be preferred.
Which path should I pursue? Should I simply use ODIN and flash a STOCK COA CSC (Cosmote Romania) or STOCK ROM CSC (Unbranded Romania) from SamMobile.com with the latest version of Lollipop? Would this trigger Knox? Will it affect my all networks unlocked status? I mean, I won't have to unlock it after that, right???
OR should I ROOT my phone, change CSC, then UNROOT? If so do you know of any method to root Lollipop 5.0 without triggering Knox?
What do you guys think? Whats the problem with my phone? Why doesn't it work on 4G? Because of CSC? Or is it something else?
Thanks!
The best way to confirm the model # would be to boot into Odin mode and look there.

What do you mean? Can you be more specific? I already told you my model number, its N9005!! Do you want a screenshot?
Dear OP, have you tried the other Samsung secret code? *#2263# then program it to accept LTE only.
That's the only foolproof way to get the Note to connect to LTE. In my country I only get 2-3 of the 5 LTE bars, so the Note wouldn't automatically connect to LTE or immediately stoop down to 3G through the settings. That specific secret code and setting is LITERALLY THE ONLY WAY TO GET MY NOTE 3 TO CONNECT TO LTE IN MY EXPERIENCE.
If that still doesn't get your phone to run LTE, either your carrier is whack or your phone is, and no amount of Cyanogenmod can fix it because your hardware modem inside the phone might be whack and you can't really do anything if that's the case...

I have already explained that there is nothing wrong with my carrier because I switched my SIM card with my friend's phone who has exactly the same N9005 model and it perfectly works on 4G on his phone. The only difference I could find in our phones is the CSC.
As for the other suggestion you sent me, I already said that I've been to SERVICE MODE. The code you've given me does nothing on my phone but as I can see from your screenshots, it gets you to SERVICE MODE. I've already been there through *#0011# switched to LTE/GSM only or LTE/WCMA only and I've explained that it still doesn't do anything.
Can someone please answer me this? Would it help if I change the CSC? Could this be the problem I'm having???

Perhaps the code you gave me only works on older version of Android such as KitKat or whatever you have on Note 2... anyway Im using Samsung Phone Info app from Play Store and my CSC is XEF and under Available CSC Codes there is a bunch of CSC codes. Here I've made a sccreenshot:
From as far as I know there are only 2 ways to change the CSC: root or flash a different stock ROM
Yes, the note 2 has kit kat but the s4 is running stock lollipop.

Well unfortunately the code doesn't work on my phone. Anyway if you know for a fact, could you tell me this? Is it safe to reflash another STOCK rom from sammobile? Will it affect my phone in any way?
Thanks
Yes, it is safe to flash stock ROMs from sammobile.com.
I just flashed a local stock ROM and guess what, when I go to Phone Info app it still shows the same CSC! I still have XEF CSC, how can this be? Why hasn't the CSC change?
After flashing the stock rom, did you try the csc code I mentioned? Same thing happens when I flash a Rogers carrier rom over a Telus carrier rom. Once I select telus as the carrier from the csc menu, the Rogers app will disappear and the Telus app appears.
Ok after further researching I found a lot of interesting stuff so I'm gonna write it all down for other people who may need it in the future.
1 - If you have a multi-CSC phone and you flash a different CSC but which is in your "Available CSC" list but which you cannot choose or change without root, your CSC will NOT change. For example: I have flashed ROM CSC (Open Romania) on my XEF CSC (Open France) and guess what after the flash was successful and all, the CSC didn't change! It was still on XEF because ROM was in my "available list".
2 - If you try to flash a different CSC which is NOT in your list, then Odin will FAIL and softly brick your phone. For example: I got my phone bricked, trying to flash 2 CSCs which are not in my "available list": COA (Cosmote Romania) and DBT (Open Germany). In order to fix this issue all you have to do is to reflash YOUR OWN CSC, in my case it was XEF. Or you can even flash one of those CSC which are "available" or compatible so to say, such as "ROM" for example.
This is the firmware I currently have on my phone:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/61565/N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005OXXGBOJ2_XEF/
These are the two firmwares I tried to flash on my phone, hoping to replace XEF with:

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/61464/N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005DBTGBOI1_DBT/
BOTH FAILED in Odin!
There are ONLY 2 ways to change the CSC on newer Samsung phones. Most guides online are based on KitKat 4.4 or older guides but for 5.0 Lollipop or even NEWER there are ONLY 2 ways to change your CSC:
1 - Root your phone and change the CSC. There are plenty of guides on how to do that online.
2 - You can avoid rooting your phone and use Odin instead, BUT accompanied by your stock firmware, you will also have to find and use a PIT file because Samsung as of 5.0 Lollipop uses different partitions for all the different regions. HOWEVER messing with PIT files is super risky and it can permanently brick your phone so its just better to root your phone instead! Dont waste your time trying to flash different regions/csc which is not in your available csc list, it won't work!
What can I say? Samsung is trying hard to block their users from changing their CSC... Why? They prefer their users buy new phones. Its pure greed yes but its what it is... For me, this was the last Samsung phone I ever buy. Im truly disappointed.

G935FXXU1BPLE - Chinese ROM?

I got my S7 Edge (SM-G935FD) Dual sim from ebay HK, and it has G935FXXU1BPLE ROM.
Where can i download this?
I need to return this to the seller, and want to flash it back to its original rom.
Tried sammobile but, couldn't find it
Thanks
Have you tried searching thru Updato... Try downloading the app from playstore or use your computer search thru updato.com.. Hope this help...

I have never seen that model here for sale unless you order it overseas. We have SM-G9350 in hong kong, that's the qualcomm version and its dual sim.

mmm... mine is dual sim exynos version
and i've checked on updato.com, none
Here's the screenshot
Europe/India/Malaysia model. If you never rooted or anything just factory reset it your fine. If you rooted and triggered KNOX they might not accept it back. That depends on the place of purchase.
I thought G935FD was dual sim. G935F was single sim. Did I miss something or do I have my models for Exynos bassackwards?
I suggest you use google to help you find the rom... I tried searching the rom you looking for just now using my phone thru google and managed to find some thread written in chinese and rom download wit pit files... Maybe it is the one you searching...

Not sure the model.
Never rooted, and I did factory reset.
KNOX is not triggered.
I need the rom, because I flash the phone with Indonesia (STOCK from sammobile) ROM, and I need to return the phone back for warranty repair (having problem with restarting and freezing).
If I were to send the phone back with Indonesia ROM, will they still accept the warranty?
And yes, it's a Dual Sim model (FD)
I found this: https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B9jhlAaVBesoOHRuOWhuN1IxTk0&export=download
Looks like it is Taiwan version.
I'm downloading now, how do you tell if the firmware is STOCK or custom/modified?
The file size is 2GB, but normal STOCK firmwares (based on sammobile) are around 1.4 - 1.6GB
I don't want to flash only to triggered my KNOX and I can't get it back for warranty....

Update SM-G935FD Dual Sim to Android 7 ?

I bought this phone from the USA about year and a half and I'm using it in Macedonia, Europe the whole time. It is a dual sim, but I'm not sure which country it is exactly from, Taiwan maybe I guess?
The model is SM-G935FD and the Baseband version shows: G935FXXU1APB6.
I tried updating it manually, but always says you're using the latest software version even though android 7 has came out a long time ago.
Can you tell me:
1. How can I update to android 7 ?
2. Why am I not receiving an update automatically, even though this feature was working when I bought the phone. I was getting regular updates automatically ever since I bought the phone up unti a point when the 7 came out.
3. If I update the firmware through an SD card or whatever method you suggest its best, will I continue receiving regular updates automatically after I install the v7.0 ?
4. How can I check what country is this phone from?
Lots of questions, would be glad if someone can clear these things up for me so I can understand better how this works with samsung and different countries models etc.
Thanks up front!
try smart switch on PC to update it... frend of mine had s7 flat and no update via mobile phone, as soon as I connected it to pc and turned on smart switch update came out...

I wanted to mention that, but I've probably forgot. I did try Smart Switch, but it also said, latest update already installed. Any other ideas?

I'm sorry for my noobish questions, but can you please explain to me how to choose the country of my firmware? Do I need to choose a country which I currently reside in? Or do I need to choose a country for which the phone was made? I just want to use English language, even though I use it in Macedonia, Europe.
Please kindly advise. Thanks!
1. How can I update to android 7 ?
i had the exact same problem as you smart switch n ota both said i was on latest software. All you need to do is goto sammmobile download firmware for your s7 edge model if your phone is non carrier or unlocked then you can download any carrier version. after that download Odin n Samsung drivers n view an odin flashing tutorial on YouTube.
3. If I update the firmware through an SD card or whatever method you suggest its best, will I continue receiving regular updates automatically after I install the v7.0 ?
I am getting all the 7.0 updates.
4. How can I check what country is this phone from?
if i remember correctly Its written on the smartphone box although u don't need to worry about the country all you need to know is the model number.
But to tell the truth there is no performance difference only ui change but still if u want to be on the latest version then use Odin. good luck.
I have flashed my s7 edge about a dozen times n haven't faced any flashing problem just be sure to use original cable n try not to use the computer while the flashing is happening. use odin in adminstrator mode n if possible kill extra background processes like chrome etc (not needed but i still do it just to be safe)

Just checked my phone with PHONE INFO app and there seems to be no CSC code?! All these field are empty:
Original CSC Code: blank
Firmware CSC Code: blank
Active CSC Code: blank
Available CSC Codes: blank
CSC Country: blank
I tried dialing *#1234# and it says:
"USSD code running"
but it shows some kind of error right after:
"connection problem or invalid mmi code"
and does not enter the menu with the CSC code. Tried restarting the phone, switching sim cards and what not.. Nothing worked and I have no clue what my CSC code is now.
My original box is gone and can't really see what country it was made for, but as far as I can remember it didn't say anything on the box. The title of the original amazon.com listing says: Internationally Sourced (Middle East/Africa/Asia) Version G935FD which doesn't say much.
I don't know what to do, I'm a bit scared to flash it with just about any country firmware. There's got to be a way to find more about this phoe CSC?

Download cpuz app from play store. From the app you will find what is your phone chipset. If it is exynos download any 935fd nougat firmware and flash it with Odin.basically 935fd is a unlock version. it's support all csc version and you will also get update how much I know.
I have an rooted Android 7 on my S7 Edge DUOS without issues.
