Hello, has anyone managed to install the new Amazon Underground (the new Amazon App Store, from amazon.com/underground )?
I'm asking because I can't find a way to install it on my phone.
I download the apk ( Amazon_App.apk) and run it, I tap the install button, I get a screen "installing..." then I get a big red 'X' saying the application didn't install.
Anyone has similar problem? Any workarounds? I have the option to install from unknown sources enabled, I'm rooted, running ROM version 5.8.20 and other apps install normally.

So I didn't know about the adobe update problem and my nook color got stuck in a boot loop so I ended up deregistering it and starting over. I rooted it per this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054027 using 4.6.16 and 4.6.18. Everything is working as it was before I was able to sideload the Amazon app store but after I download an app it doesn't install. I have the option to install with "App Installer" or " Package Installer" Both don't work. I get the same error messages that I got when i tried to install the appstore normally. "Unable to install please archive and then unarchive..." and "Parse error." I have tried installing new apps and ones already on my account, neither work. I have uncheck and check the non-market app box. I also wipe the nook and re-rooted to see it that would do anything, it didn't. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to fix it?
1. The "non-market app" (or whatever name it is) box must be checked.
2. stock ROM v1.4.1 has BLOCKED side-loading capability however, members reported that if your NC is rooted, sideload feature still functions ok.
I have checked the box and I was able to sideload the amazon marketplace
I found a way to have al the sideloaded apps to appear on the app menu on fire tv. All you need to do is install amazon appstore for android (you can download it on the amazon's website). Sideloading does not work for this purpose. What i did was installed dropbox and added thea pk to it and installed from threre. Now go to the App Menu and MAGIC happens, you will get list of al the installed apps on it. DOWNSIDE: YOU WILL LOSE THE ORIGINAL AMAZON APPSTORE THAT CAME WITH AFTV, BUT DONT WORRY YOU CAN ALWAYS GO BACK TO ORIGINAL STYLE JUST BY UNISTALLING THE AMAZON APPSTORE YOU INSTALLED AND RESTARTING THE DEVICE. Don't forget to say thanks.

How did you enable install from unknown sources?
This has been discussed thoroughly in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2790374
didnt know was already found
I didn't know somebody already found out this before, anyway to enable the apps from unknown source sideload Settings.apk and change the settings.
Installed modded Play Store (through Lucky Patcher), install succeeded but Play Store would say not connected to the internet when launched, installed different versions of modded play store gave me the same result, gave up on modded Play Store and uninstalled it though Lucky Patcher and tried installing multiple versions from apkmirror, same thing, app installs, then tells me not connected to the internet when opened, so I thought Google Play Services was at fault, so I uninstalled both it and the Play Store through Titanium Backup, and even though I no longer have either installed, Play Store icon was still on the homescreen (won't launch though), did the Nougat update thinking it would overwrite the system partition and fix the issue, still the same.
Have though about flashing gapps, but thought it was too risky to install on non-AOSP, so now I don't know where to go from here, Help Please?
of course. Just download it via browser
Playstore ( unmodded ) : http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-7-3-07-k-all-0-pr-139935798-release/
Latest Play Service for x64 @480 DPI : http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/google-play-services-10-0-84-release/google-play-services-10-0-84-448-137749526-android-apk-download/
These are the right versions, no clue which you tried.
If youre on CM or the error still remains , download OpenGAPPS by any mirror and let it download the full AROMA package for x64. Flash the zip via twrp and select both missing apps. Watch your steps here, it asks you which to install and which to remove. For me the Aroma Control is a big buggy. You have to play with the volume rockers and the power button to go through the setup.
By the Way : I recommend to follow Google INC there to get the latest beta versions pre playreleased
For the future...
I would not recommend messing with Google apps and Lucky Patcher. This app can really mess up your accounts.
I also don't think it is allowed to discuss any Lucky Patcher related issues on these forums since large parts of "activities" that this app is used for are not completely legal.
The so-called modded APK from theirs can't be installed as it lacks a certificate. However if you achieve perfection after signing the APK and using their "second" method the following message persists:
Code:
Authentication is required. You need to sign into your Google Account.

I used one x86 ver of Phonesky, it could do well with Play Store WITHIN ONLY A FEW MINUTES. Then it showed "Service stops. " The modded APK looks promising, there must be some other tricks to bypass the Google Serivce check.
There are bits and pieces of this all over XDA (and the web) so I thought I'd just put it here to make it easier.
I purchased a Chinese Huawei Media Pad M3 8' WiFi tablet in March 2018 with the following details.
Model: CPN-W09
Build: CPN-W09C233B066 , CPN-W09C233B067 (updated 8 Apr 2017 with no negative effects)
EMUI 5.1
Android 7.0
Kernel: 3.18.31-gee0501b
I wanted to get google services on this device. This is what finally worked for me.
Startup the tablet. Select USA English, skip Huawei registration and Wifi. Skip cloud services, enable pin, enable fingerprint ID. Get to home screen.
Connect to computer, enable file transfer and drop GSM the gsminstaller apk into your download folder. Install the gsminstaller and after the installer is installed, open it and press the 'one touch installation button'. After that, I installed Google Play service 12.5.20 and Google Play store 9.3.14 both of which I downloaded from apkmirror.com.
I was able to log into my google account and everything seems to be working fine. I even reset the tablet to factory specs to make sure I had the right steps and it looks like the GSM core stayed installed.
Note I got the link to the gsmcore (gsminstaller.apk) from this thread. so thanks.
Also, as I researched this, I stumbled across a couple of other tidbits that I thought I'd put here.
There are some hidden menus you can reach by putting the calculator in landscape mode (so you can see the '(' ')' characters.) and keying in the following combinations.
To get the Product ID enter: ()()1357946()()=
To get the Project Manager (install firmware from SD card, reset etc) aka Manufacture Mode enter: ()()2846579()() =
Hope this helps someone else.

Use the Files app to find the APK where you put it on the tablet, double click it and install the APK (app). After it is installed , you'll see the icon in your apps. Click that and then you will see the one-touch install button.
Report back here if it works so other people can find the info for your tablet.

I have the same problem, it just doesn't allow you to install the APK (App may damage your device, Installation forbidden.) and there is no option to turn off checking apks

To skip the Hicare check, you just need to disconnect from the internet before you double click on the APK. Then you should be able to install the GSMinstaller.

When I switched off and on the external sources/third party app radio buttons, there was an option to "Enable external sources app to scan..." that was enabled by default. I disabled that tick box and it never checked any APK's again.
Hope this works for you.
I follow the steps, and got the play store installed, but when I went to install a few games, it said it couldn't install them. It also said the google play services wouldn't work unless it was updated, but when I went to update it, it didn't say there was an update. A few things installed, like Nova launcher. The games I tried to install, I was able to install them last time without a problem (don't remember what I did then to get Google play to work). Today I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it,and it obviously erased everything. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have the WiFi only model.
It worked for my MEDIAPAD M3, I had to factory reset it, and skip all the set up options. do not add any password or wifi to it. just skip it all, then run the GMS installer., and also install the google play store , framework and play services.
then, you can add your wifi password.
Hello
I have Fire HD 8 (10th generation). I dont want anything Amazon (but only the Kindle App). I used Firetoolbox v17 to deBloat everything out. And installed Google Play Service. Now when I try to install Kindle app from play store, google shows me the enable button (not the install button), which means i will use the one which was already present, and now disabled because of FireToolBox. I don't want to enables it, as it enables few other things at the background.
So, I downloaded the Kindle APK online (from a couple of apk_mirrors) but everytime the installation failed. I assume some part of Amazon framework in the fire OS doesn't let let me install that. It does not show any error but only "installation failed".
Is there a way for me to install a standalone Kindle APK. Or, there is a way to change build.prop in FireOS, and make Amazon servers see my request coming from a standard Android variant and Not FireOS.
