hi guys.
first of all, sorry if my english isn't very good., if you don't understand me, let me know, i'll try to speak as best as I can. My problem, as i wrote in the title, consist in the fact, that my note 4 doesn't go in deep sleep when i press the power button. This means that during the night for example, i've usually lost, at least 15% or more of battery. last night my telephone was at 94% and this morning, when i woke up, it was at 75%! . on an italian forum, they told me to do this procedure: wipe cache, take out the battery for 20sec and then turn on my phone. that procedure has solved my problem of course, but not in a final way (it works for at least one or two day, then the problem reappears). after posting on that forum screenshot of my battery graphic, they've said that there is an app which create a process which works in background when i put my telephone in deep sleep. i was told to do a full wipe, but even if i do, and then i reinstall the same app, there is an huge probability that the problem appear again, right? if can help you, my note 4 has root access, and i've downloaded BBS, trepn profile, battery guru.
Thanks to everyone who will try to help me
Is your wifi enabled me disabled during the night? If enabled, disable it.
I'm using Smart WiFi toggler to do that.

yes, it is. well, 2 days ago, i've launched BBs and it says that 90% of the activity was given by wifi activity during the night, but i didnt pay attenction to that advice, because i was thinking that, wrongly, that wifi cannot reduce my battery.

This is very annoying, I have spent the whole morning trying to find a solution for this issue. The battery runs out already fast as it is, and now the phone is not
Battery drained about 20% at night by itself. Currently draining about 1-2% per 5 minutes when idle. What do I do? I have looked on various different threads for a solution, but did not find anything to fix this issue.
How do I fix this?
Thanks, in advance.
Also some details.
I had my phone at home, I prefer the phone to use WiFi networks when syncing and updating, but to have phone turn them automatically off when not using them, that is when the phone is locked and not syncing and updating anything. But apparently it doesn't do that, it has WiFi on at all times for some reason. And I don't know if its related to WiFi, it doesn't appear to go to "deep sleep"

For me, it was the last Google Maps update. Try to disable "Reporting Location" and "Location History" under Location settings on Google Settings app(the one with the green icon). I had around 25% drain over night and half of it came from this.
Try it and see if this can help you.
:fingers-crossed:
Like above say, disable location, especially if you keep wifi on.
Leaving wifi on while sleeping itself is not good for our health anyway, so if you have data switch to 2G, its at least enough to keep internet messages coming while saving battery. And if its wifi wise, apply pm.sleep_mode=1 in your build.prop. AND, scroll up a little, wifi_supplicant_can_interval(something like that, from its SHOULD BE 15 change to 300-600).
Disable unused apps and use greenify.

Thank you for the answer, but sadly it didn't seem to do it. My WiFi is still always on, even though I have it set to turn off when phone is sleeping at WiFi advanced settings.
Although the phone entered deep sleep mode when I manually turned WiFi off, but I'm not sure if that was the case.

I understand, but I forgot to do so, I actually have an app that turns on air plane mode at certain time. But that still doesn't fix the issue that the phone doesn't enter sleep mode with WiFi on and doesn't turn it off, even though it's set to do so.
Also I did not quite understand what you were telling me there, as I got the phone last week and it's my first android phone. The app you suggested could cut it, but that means that whenever there will be an auto check for news sequence I will be downloading it with mobile data? Is there an app that could cause this?
I was about to update on this, but I just got notification about 4.3 update.
I will update this post, if this problem still exists.
UPDATE : Of course, still the problem persists, Phone goes to sleep when I have Wi-Fi turned off. But when on, even though I have it set to turn off during sleep mode, it keeps the phone wake and drains the battery.

How is it related to my router exactly? My iPod disconnects from Wi-Fi no problem.
Thank you for trying though.
I had left my phone this night with Wi-Fi off, but mobile data and 3G was on, Lost 7% in 7Hours from 47%. Does this seem okay, or a little bit too much? By the time I answered 2 emails and made 1 short phonecall and checked on battery logs from 2 different apps, and changed my wallpaper, battery has dropped to 33%. I'm not proud.
The answer to your problem is JuiceDefender Ultimate, available from Play Store.

Unfortunately this is normal, the battery life is not the best feature of nexus 4. How many screen on time hours do you get averagely?
This fixed the Wifi always on issue for me.
Turn WiFi on: Settings, WiFi, Menu (3 dots upper right hand corner), advanced, uncheck scanning always on.
Hope this helps.
Hello
I have a samsung s4 i9500 new phone about 4 months old. I encoutered many battery problems so i installed Arrow rom, which i fell in love with it in a sec, it had everything and the battery life was just amazing. (Thanks to all who contributed into making this amazing rom).
But something happened when i installed an app about adds and it kinda restored my phone yo factory settings, i didnt care much for the reset, but i found out that my battery life ia no longer like before. Let me give you my states before and after.
Ps: i reinstalled the rom hoping better resulta but it was the same
I sleep usually at 1pm and wake up at 10. Thats 9 hours, when my phone was fine it only drained about 10% or 12%.
But as in for today for example, i slept 7 hours and it drained 20%.
Most of the draining came from android oa at 89%.
Please note that before i go to sleep i always charge my phone to 100%
Is there something wrong? Ill do any test to solve mu problem.
Thanks all

Hi.
U should install BBS app and post "other" and "partial wakelocks" screenshots so that we can tell what's eating up yr battery life.
Cheers.
deep sleep!
Yeah BBS is definitely the way to go..also you might want to check skipjack's awesome thread for better batt life when idle (insanely )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357417
I got better batt life with my s4 after i did some of their tips on this thread..
Sweetdreams to your phone's battery! ))
I have attached my files, btw the battery is kinda weird, one day it drained about 40% but somedays drains way less, keep in mind that when i go to sleep i turn off my wifi and use edge network, and power savor too.
Some solutions that I follow that kind of stopped severe battery drain and got the phone in deep sleep mode:
- Disable "Scanning Always Available" from Advanced settings of WiFi
- Disable GPS and 'Use Wireless Networks' from Location settings menu
- Greenify apps and a few services
- Before putting the phone down for good, clear all the recently opened apps by pressing and holding the HOME button and clearing them all. Then open up the task manager and clear RAM.
- To get the phone into deep sleep (you can monitor this using a free app called WakeLock detector, available on PlayStore), if you have the habit of switching on the screen and then switching it off whilst being in the lockscreen mode (just like you check time quickly without unlocking the device), the S4 DOES NOT go into deep sleep mode even though the screen is switched off.
To solve this, you need to unlock the screen, get to homescreen and switch off screen from there instead of directly locking/switching off the screen without unlocking the device. Yes, it's hell and I don't know why this issue persists :/
Hi guys, Noob alert hahahaha. Long time stalker first time poster.
I like many others have terrible battery performance with my Note 3 N9005. Mine began 2 months after purchase, no root etc. Tried everything and sometimes it would be fine, other times drain like hell. Now I am rooted using chainfire, I run clockwork mod, use nova launcher etc. My wifi never sleeps, so I have to turn it off manually and for the most part since rooting last month, installing greenify etc, I can get nearly 3 days sometimes out of a battery, which includes streaming spotify, browsing etc (I don't play games on my phone). Still my wifi never sleeps. But every so often lately the major battery drain has begun again. Last night I went to sleep on about half and woke up nearly dead. I am attaching a copy of Better Battery stats in the hope someone can explain what the cause is. I also noticed the cpu running at 300hz for most of the time.

I think it is *#0011# ; I also suspect you might need to set power-saving ON there in the WiFi menu, but that is just my guess.
In your log above the main problem seems to be Spotify and some other programs with wakelocks, maybe also stuff related to Bluetooth and WiFi vs Mobile Data.

Wifi powersave was already on. Spotify runs pretty well all day at work. When at home bt and wifi are always switched off before I go to bed. My other issue and one I assume most note 3 owners have, is using the internet sucks 1% per minute. No joke. I can listen to music for hours and lose 3%, but use the web and I lose 1% per 1-2min. I lost 3% just typing this. Only once and it straight after root, did my phone not lose any percentage whioe on net for 15min. Uninstalling google play used to help also, but that does not seem to make any difference anymore. I never use location services or auto updates, so bugger me how to fix this.

Reset BBS statistics and do a log for one of those periods of just a few minutes when you lose 1-3%.
Also check if power-save mode in the phone makes any difference.
For a month or more I'm facing totally unexplainable battery drain.
As seen on the screens below, the phone is awake, but it is not detected anywhere - not by android nor by GSam. In any case the battery draws faster.
I have one observation tho - this happens after I make phone calls. Not every time, but once per 2,3 days.
Any ideas?

You have this problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/explanation-horrible-note-4-battery-t3004274
I'm pretty sure that I don't have this issue. Yes, the percentage in GSam maybe high, but I don't believe this reflects what is happening.
First of all - I don't have bad battery life. Usually my over night drain is less than 1%/1h.
Second - the issue appears sporadically.
Third - in the provided thread I don't see the issue appearing in stock battery monitor, while mine appear.
At last - my battery drains faster only while the issue is present and before I restart. After that it is back to normal ...
@Spo0f
Just some suggestions maybe you're using 3g I always have that turned off and switch it on when I use it my guess is that some apps are causing your drain after a call maybe like you said if you're not fimiliar with greenify I suggest you use it to stop all those apps and system apps also uninstall all those bloatware you don't need or at least freeze them if you don't mind lower the resolution to 1080p with nomone app use power save or disable dvfs and use an app to lower and raise the CPU to save juice when not needed....
Thanks for the suggestions, but as I said - this problem appear sporadically - home when using WiFi as well as outside when using 3G.
All of the rest is done - I'm no newby

Oh sorry mate well I don't use much 3g so I can't help you there but if you're having drainage when you're using WiFi in general then maybe you should reconsider investigating the post above with the link I don't have so much drainage on connectivity with 3g or WiFi....viewing the pics you uploaded it seems suspicious.... Maybe an app? I don't know...
Use wakelock detector

My overnight drain was also very low, but that was because the faulty device on the network was asleep at night too (my desktop).
If you're not rooted, use the PC version of Wakelock Detector at the end of your day and post screenshots of your highest drainers for the various categories. In my case, the device was being woken up by something on the network and it showed.
Bear in mind that actively downloading something in the time period will also raise wifi power used but more stats will help.
The fact that you're still experiencing a lot of drain even when outside suggests it might be a rogue app
One phone call today and after it the phone stayed awake.
Because I had issue with the PC WLD the screen shots are from 11 minutes after one of the disconnects. The device was awake all of them.

I also checked out my battery behaviour this night and was very disappointed. Although my phone was in flight mode and every peripherals and services shut down, today morning my phone was crying for energy. So I made a quick investigation in my power diagram and found out, that "Android OS" requested a wakelock during the whole power-on time. So I installed "CPU Spy" to check in which states the phone was really over the whole charging period. I couldn't believe my eyes. Although the kernel should do it's job good, cause most of the CPU times are in lower freqeuncy states, the deep sleep mode was never activated.
Therefore I installed an app called "Wakelock Detector" to check out which apps could cause that. I found out, that S Health had a big amount of wakelocks and also active-time, so the first thing was to disable S Health. After some minutes I checked back, but nevertheless still no deep sleep time in "CPU Spy".
So I searched around and found another one arguing about the wakelocks and that they could be the products of some programming issues concerning WiFi. The should be gone, after turning off WiFi and rebooting yout phone. And it seems that he was right. I waited some time and hooray, "CPU Spy" listed the phone state "Deep Sleep" the first time as an active state and also with the major active-time. So at least that was some step ahead. (I have to remark, that S Health was already unfrozen at this time, so S Health should not be responsible in any way.)
The next step was to reactivate WiFi, leave it on and set the phone on standby. After some time I checked back again the phone showed even more deep sleep time. So that was an improvement. I reactivated everything and waited some time... Deep Sleep all over the time. Can't figure out for now, if it was S Health, WiFi, or anything else that caused the wakelock for sure. At least the reboot helped. I'll check that out on a long-term test, maybe I get some further conclusions.
Hi guys, I have a little battery issue over night I'm loosing about 4-5% every night ..
I have a OnePlus 5 on open beta 4 everything stock.. and clean flashed when it was out (factory reset after updating with full zip)
When I look in gsam my phone is awake only 10 minutes over 8h of sleep.. so it's not a wakelock I think because the only wakelock I get is netmgr_wl which is a kernel wakelock
I only disable WiFi and Bluetooth and put my phone on DND when I go to sleep
Mobile data is on, NFC on, location on and that's all
I've read here like 2 weeks ago that putting the phone face down help with over night discharge .. but it didn't helped me !
How come that I lose this much compared to some here who are loosing only 1%
Do you know a fix or something that can help me ?

Maybe the others that loosing 1% don't sleep so long, disabled cellphone, used other apps, using no location services at all, disabled Nfc, don't use Google app. There's a lot you can do. But for detailed investigation please do record that behavior with better battery stats and provide a dump file.

Basically, you don't need to disable the cellphone (aka enabling Airplane mode) but if you disable Mobile Data it already helps a lot. If you disable Mobile Data and WiFi, you should get the same 1% battery drain others are reporting.
On a side note, I should add that I drifted away from trying to conserve battery drain because I became a fan of the Always On display app, which makes it convenient to see the time in the night or early morning without having to touch my phone.
