Does anyone how I can get a mono audio option for sound? I use spotify at work and would like to be able to use only one earphone...but then I miss out on half the sound. I have no issues with PowerAmp, since you can downmix to mono but have trouble everywhere else (TuneIn, Spotify, etc). So anyone know of system wide APK or function that allows for mono audio?
I do this every single day at work with podcasts.
Option 1
A2dp Bluetooth
Option 2
Super mono froyo or BT mono in play store
These "hack" your audio to a non a2dp bluetooth
Edit: I re-read your post and it seems you want better quality rather than the wireless capability. Nevertheless a2dp may still be the easier way to go.

Thanks for the response. I actually got a stereo -> mono 3.5 plug but it doesn't like to fit in the N4...works on just about everything but the N4. I think I'll just look for another stereo -> mono adapter that actually fits as BT wasn't the solution I was looking for.
Hey guys,
I have a Oneplus 2 and have been having some issues with my sound setup.
I have a Tidal Hi-Fi subscription and am unable to play Hi-Fi audio on my OnePlus 2's internal DAC. I get a split second of audio at the beginning of a new track and then silence. Playback continues (the song timer/location bar keeps on going) but I do not hear anything. I'm thinking that this is an issue with the sampling rate of the DAC? I haven't put any FLAC's onto my phone yet, but I will try that later tonight and see if they are playable via PowerAmp.
(I've tried searching online for the Tidal issue and it looks like at least one other person - a reviewer - has issues with Tidal - thestreet[dot]com/story/13293776/1/oneplus-two-review-nearly-flawless/ )
I also have a FiiO E17 DAC which I have tried hooking up to my OP2 via USB OTG. The DAC doesn't indicate that it locked onto a signal and the Oneplus doesn't seem to have recognized any change in audio - it just plays back audio via the speakers.
I was first experiencing these issues with Oxygen OS 2.0.2. Upgrading to 2.1.0 hasn't fixed them for me either.
Is anybody else having any issues with either of these and do you know of any fix?
Thanks!
Tidal is now working for me on 2.1

Are you using a custom kernel or anything else? 2.1 didn't fix it for me.
2.1 didn't fix it for me either.
Streaming FLAC on android isnt working on either of my android devices. I have to either downgrade the quality or save to device first.
I have the same problem with my OPT and Tidal hifi. No output on OxygenOS 2.1.2.
What USB OTG Cable are you using?
I have the same issue - I have posted a thread at the One Plus forum...
flac on a phone lol...

Thanks for posting on the OnePlus forum, I did not have enough replies yet to do this.
My Fiio E17 works without USB Player Pro when I enabled OTG Storage in settings.
Hi mates,
I've got the Nova Grey, it works very good and I'm really happy with it. But I'm missing the high resolution audio codec like on my old HTC one mini 2.
Did someone try to push the aptx Codec to the device?
Will it work? I don't want to root and break my warranty for nothing.
There are several developers who have ported it, here is a example page:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/mod-aptx-hd-bluetooth-hi-res-audio-t3501991
Nova has DTS app preinstalled on the phone and I found it great on headphones but it doesn't work on speakers.
And it doesn't work on Bluetooth speakers as well... Only wired connections
Hi,
I've the OP5 128 GB, in the setting and advanced, we have an option Bluetooth audio codec. In this step we have 3 codec we can try :
* aptX HD
*aptX
*SBC
By default, SBC is select, but do you have try others ? what's the best ?
Sometime, i loose the bluetooth connection in my car and i must to off/on the connection.
Thank you.

When this was brought up before: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/help/whats-to-aptx-hd-aptx-sbc-bluetooth-t3627794
tl;dr set it to aptX HD and hope it falls back gracefully when not supported. No idea why it wasn't set as default...
I don't think the Bluetooth connection issue with your car has anything to do with the codec. Mine has trouble connecting every time regardless of what is picked. It is really frustrating, so hopefully it'll improve with a future update...
Depends on which codec your headphones supports of headphones supports aptxx

If your device supports Aptx (like some High-Rez Audio headseats), go for it .
If not select SBC
Aptx HD in only for Bluetooth 5.0 devices (actually no headsets or car audio system are available on the market with this feature)

Why not just select aptX[ HD] and let the devices negotiate down if it's unsupported?
Hmm my Sony XB650BT seems to connect using aptx hd. It doesn't appear to step down, but maybe it's playing aptx but still on aptx hd? The headset lists that it is aptx.

Unfortunately no because most of the time the AD2P protocol will choose SBC as the default codec if the codec you chose (aptx or aptx hd) is not compatible/available

As far as I know this is true and matches my experiences bouncing between aptX in my car and my non aptx Bose qc 25..

Hi, I've the 6.0.1 Android version (rooted).
I have a Behringer U-Control UCA222 audio interface and a OTG adapter. I would like to make real stereo recordings. But the problem is, apps always get the left channel only, even in they have the stereo option for recording (result: dup left channel). The only app that managed to record in real stereo was n-Track Studio, that lets choosing the real input (not the "interal-camcorder-default" ones). I chose the first option in the list with two channels and voilĂ , real stereo. But that app doesn't fit my needs, I would love to use any light one with stereo option... if there is a real stereo input.
So, my question is: is there any way to "tell" Android that I want a real stereo input when this USB audio interface is plugged in? That would be awesome... Or that would be very complicated?
Thanks for your time.
