[How-To] Remove Verizon's trojan horse and other carriers **Spyware** - G4 General

I called Verizon about an issue I was having with their service today and the rep started troubleshooting. He began to tell me about stuff in my phone stuff like RAM usage, battery %, battery health, apps running, apps that can keep your phone awake, last time charged, last time booted up, wifi connection/signal, cell signal/4G, IF YOU WERE ROOTED(void warranty even if you go back to stock before you return it), AND KERNEL VERSION.
So I got to looking at apps I disabled(with debloat tool) and some even though were disabled were still running. They were even listed in disabled in application manager. When I clicked the apps in disabled it showed that force stop was selectable which meant it was running. I want to emphasize that I used both the debloat tool floating around here and manually disabled them in application manger and they were still running.
People have mentioned that this spyware was well known, fair enough. This is how you stop some of it. Keep in mind that this is Verizons trojan and the Verizon agent assured me LG has one as I'm sure the other carriers also have.. If someone has a reason to call LG install no root firewall and see what apk they query. I think LG's app will be more hidden than MyVerizon.apk.
**EDIT 08/28/2015** I got it!!!! it's the my verizon mobile apk! I called verizon and asked for my battery health and RAM usage. I watched him query MyVerizon.apk. The first one my firewall let through and he knew everything about my phone, after that I blocked it and poof he couldn't do it. I watched him try several times after I blocked it and each failed. After he was confused because it worked the first time but none of the other times I told him the actual reason for my call. He admitted it's just like a trojan, he said it was probably is a disclosure that no one reads(including him) for MyVerizon.apk. He told me that I was very clever due to how I found it. I said I asked another agent previously before where the apk was that allowed them to see it and they all said they had no clue. The guy I just spoke to knew exactly which apk it was and said all tier 2 tech support knows it. They all knew to lie to the end user because I bet many would block it.
You can use No Root Firewall to see what app they are using. Ask your carrier about your battery health and see what app gets called on, after they tell you the battery health block the app with the firewall then ask them to check again. If they say it isn't working you found the right one, please PM me which apk it is and I'll add it to this post.
MyVerizon.apk I confirmed it is positively this one.
VZMobileSecurity.apk I think this is spyware also

I thought I debloated it pretty good....what app sends that data? Is there an app I can install that monitors data to and from and which app is doing it?
Edit: CarrierIQ didn't tell verizon if you were rooted though. Flash a custom kernel and call them and see what they say when you need to warranty it cause something non related broke.

They've been able to do this for a couple of years. They can even remotely take over your phone. When I was a tech for Verizon, we saw XXX stuff all the time on peoples phones.

This is a little concerning and borderline illegal. I would definitely like to see more work on this to find a solution that will also boot on a reboot.

Mine throws a security error at boot if I uninstall certain system apps, but I can disable/freeze them no problem. Also I have LIAinformant but I'm not on Verizon. I think it's part of LG's "smart actions" app (LG Intelligent Agent), probably tells it what to suggest. I don't use that app anyway so I disabled LIAinformant and haven't seen any problems.

**Edit** This was about my old method that I'm not using anymore! The new method causes no problem.
**old method** even disabled some of them are running. I thought disabling was stopping them too. Go into your application manager and go over to disabled and click on each one, see if any of them have force stop selectable. If any of them do it's still running. Verizon has a giant trojan horse installed that even runs while disabled. I think it's VZMobileSecurity.apk. Like I said I did other apks but I think VZMobileSecurity.apk is the trojan horse.

I record all my calls so I thought about posting my call but I don't wanna get the guy in trouble but he thought it was pretty slick how I went about it.

Nice app. Downloading now. Very interested in seeing what crap my phone is sending out

Verizon assured me LG has a similar tool and I bet all carriers do. if your not on verizon I bet you still have the same trojans. I forgot to mention earlier that when the verizon agent was querying my phone that the APK in question was asking for root(via superuser)! lol. I thought the app would look for the su binary in /system and report that the phone is rooted but it doesn't. it tries to acquire root privileges and if you hit deny they don't know your rooted. how stupid of verizon.
you know what sucks is there are a million apps that you NEED to let through your firewall like iheartradio. Iheartradio streams music from the internet so allow that. But iheartradio is constantly sending and recieving **** to facebook and amazon. why? I'm not using it it shouldn't be using my data connection right? it does. They are the hardest apps to deal with because if you block them their primary function doesn't work. apps like es file explore are constantly trying to use data for who knows what, I'm assuming advertising. They are easy because there is nothing it needs online, block it and be done. secure settings? block it and be done. You'll hate the ones actually need to be allowed through your firewall though because you can't block apps like that because it needs the internet to do it's job you downloaded it for. look below how many times iheartradio is trying to talk to facebook and amazon. I am not logged in with facebook nor am I using amazon, yet it's trying to send them data.

Kinda off-topic, but have you ever heard of MyAndroidTools? It's an app that lets you control the activities your apps are allowed use. If you experiment with it a little, you could probably block most of that stuff.

I think this firewall app needs its own thread. Using it now and blocked a bunch of stuff. Screw that. I have Amazon Store and everything DISABLED yet it is still trying to call home. Not cool.

I get the error "VPN unavailable on this version of OS" when I try to start the firewall.
I tried setting IPV4/6 in the APN as suggested in the reviews, but that didn't fix it.
I was able to use AdGuard in VPN mode before I rooted and switched to AdAway so I know VPN did work at one time.
Anyone got any ideas? It's too nice outside for me to troubleshoot my phone today!
IHeartRadio is probably just using Amazon Web Services to stream, so no big worry there. It is reporting your every move to Facebook though, but who isn't these days.

Never mind!
Something I blocked with Debloater was preventing VPNs from being created. I did a batch unblock so I don't know what it was exactly, but I would guess it was one of the Qualcomm files related to networking.

just root and freeze with titanium backup. problem solved...

I hope you make a thread about it and I'll contribute. People got butthurt over callerIQ but this they don't care about?!?! CallerIQ pretty much got advertising type stuff the trojans our phones are infected with do so much worth. I caught Verizons, LG has one that is much more in depth obviously. Sprint, ATT, and Tmobile I'm sure has one just as bad but no one cares. They can void your warranty when you call about anything! They can decide tomorrow that they will query the phone once a day to find out if people are rooted so they can void warranties! I'm sure police don't need warrants to get your phone data if in paragraph 10 article 9 number 7 of the disclosure says they can share your data with whoever they want and I'm sure it does!.
Is everyone OK with their phone using their own data plan they pay for sending off personal data to everyone!
Buddy you start a thread about the firewall I'll be there with you.

Sprint Hero Troubleshooting

OK, I'm at work and as I'm the Android expert, I pretty much deal with Heros and Moments all day. 7 days a week. So I've compiled a short list of problems that I was wondering if you guys might be able to help me out with. I kinda feel bad constantly having to hard reset my customers Heros, even though everything is backed up to google. So, since you guys have delved into the OS and programming, perhaps you have some fixes aside from hard reset (And that won't void the warranty, preferably) for these problems.
1. Picture mail. Customer just gets a download button. When they touch it, either they get downloading........ or download unsuccessful. After suspending/restoring account, deprogramminga nd reprogramming the phone, and switching the phone off the account and back on, I can get about 50% of their picmail to go through, still have to hard reset. Any thoughts on causes of this? Or a fix?
2. Youtube. Using either the browser or the youtube application, the video will not play. Will occasionally play after 4 or 5 tries, but with no consistency. Doesn't seem to happen on every phone. Hard reset does not fix this. It's listed in our known issues, with no fix. I would appreciate any of your advice. I already give my customer the workaround to use a diff browser and d/l in mp4 format, i'd like to know if I can be more help.
3. When attempting to sign into google or access Market, error "A reliable data connection could not be established. Your SIM card may not be provisioned for data. This may be a temporary problem." Etc. Once again, I do all troubleshooting on our side, customer can browse internet and use data based apps, just not contact googles servers. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
That is pretty much it. The only problem I actually cannot fix is the Youtube, other than that a hard reset will take care of it but your average sprint customer has never done a backup and has forgotten the gmail they created when they activated the phone. Thanks in advance for help and if anyone needs any help on my side or info hit me up.
Tell Sprint to get off their ass and roll out the 2.1 update. That fixes every issue you listed as well as others.
Be thankful that some very malicious exploits are still being kept hush hush. Your bosses promised fixes in November when they were shown how to crash any Sprint Android device to the point where a hard reset and a trip to the store is needed to fix it.
Fixes were promised "soon" back in November. It's almost March and I'm about to spill my guts and make things much worse.
I'll help anyone who is honest. Sprint and HTC have spent a ****load of resources on other projects instead of fixing a buggy POS system they took my 500 bucks for. That's not honest.

+1 what he said
Both posts don't actually address his questions, rather your gripes with Sprint and or HTC. Please stay on topic and help if you can.
Gee, that was entirely unhelpful. I am actually trying to help people. I come in on all my off days because no one else here is as comfortable with Android as I am. I am also the top Aircard guy because while most of these guys can fix your Blackberry, they don't know jack about Windows or Mac. So I spend the daylight hours every day trying to help people. I figured since you guys have gotten further into the OS than I ahve you might be able to offer some assistance to your fellow Hero users. Instead, I get an extremely rude message essentially spitting in my face and telling me to piss off because of the company I work for. I honestly had much higher expectations. I've been reading these forums for months and have come to have a high degree of respect for all of you, which is why I decided to start posting. That's really dissapointing. And, for the record, Sprint doesn't write Operating Systems. They just tell the manufacturer what they want (Sprint Nav, Nascar, etc.) and what they wont allow (phone as modem, bluetooth file transfer) and then get the updates whenever they make one. You guys are eagerly awaiting a Sprint 2.1? So is Sprint. I promise you.
And by the way, I realize I'm apparently a horrible person for working to feed my family and all, but I'm an Industrial Electrician, Journeyman. Also A control specialist, fiber optic terminator, and IT tech. The economy crashed, I got laid off from the electrical union cause we had no work, sat on the books for 6 months, and when the union couldnt find me work I came here. Sprint was impressed with my technical abilities (and the fact that someone with my experience/education would be willing to do tech support) and gave me a job. Don't think I'm some evil corporate asshole whos trying to get over on you, cause I'm not. If you don't want to offer your assistance that I think I very respectfully asked for, ok. You aren't hurting me, my Hero works just fine. You're just hurting every other Hero user that calls in needing help.
Oh, and since I can't play with my phone at work (new policy, it bloody sucks, I used to sit here and flash roms and stuff all day from this site) I am just reading the forums and trying to help out. This thread is aptly named for it, so if anyone needs any tech help (as far as not getting sms, mms, calls not coming through, internet down, etc) hit me up in here I'm already giving out tech advice in the picture mail thread. Lol.
How about the texts out of order problem?
I've noticed on mine, it's only when I get texts from other sprint users and it's not every time. Like just now, I sent a text to a friend with sprint, my phone says I sent it at 5:40pm, she replied 2 minutes later, but the time stamp on her text says 5:39pm. I have yet to have this issue with people on other carriers, only people that also use sprint.
Yeah, thats a weird issue. Mine does the same thing. I havent found a fix yet. When using the normal messaging app this causes new txt messages to go to the top of the thread, which is a pain in the ass if you have several hundred txts. Using Handcent keeps that from happening, but the time still comes in wrong. I'm gonna check this out today and see if I can dig something up.

Not true. His questions were answered in the first sentence of my original reply.
All these issues are a direct result of the process that was used to force Android to work with hardware and a system it was not designed for. They are all fixed in later versions of the operating system.
To the OP - I don't hold you responsible for anything Sprint does. But since you identified yourself as someone who does tech support for them, I simply told you the same thing I tell any Sprint employee. Fix your **** and soon. Pass that along please.
Too bad Sprint network and software engineers don't care about the issues enough to seek feedback like you have done. If they did, I would have told them the same thing.

Is the customer using the stock messaging app or Handcent? I notice that if I click the "download" button on the pop-up notification then I never get the picture mail. Close the pop-up notification and open the SMS app of your choice (stock, handcent or other) and the picture mail should be there.
I would think that a hard reset fixes it because it uninstalls the custom messaging app that the customer has installed that is hijacking the download.

I've noticed that many movies don't play on the browser because Youtube tries to launch "Youtube Mobile" and it blocks a lot of videos that would otherwise play in the Youtube app.
It may be an issue with the data connection. Does your store have a WiFi hotspot? If so, try disabling the Sprint Data connection and enable (and associate) the WiFi... then see if it views ok. If so, you may need to reprovision the Vision account or reset the Vision credentials.

I suspect the customer has loaded a custom ROM and is not telling you... but before they came into the store, they restored from nand. There is a known issue with some custom ROMs that will put bad data in your Google account (held on Google's servers). Try creating a new gmail account, do a hard reset, configure the new gmail account as the phone's primary Google account, and see if the market runs. If so... explain to the customer that they have (i believe permanently) screwed up their Google account and they should create a new one. They can still use their old gmail account for mail as a secondary account but as far as Market and all the other Google apps on the phone, they should use the new one. Also advise them to check with the ROM manufacturer before they load custom ROMs.
For example, MoDaCo doesn't have this problem but some of the earlier (and possibly the current) Fresh ROMs caused this problem.

Is there really such a serious exploit? Maybe its time Engadget and the other big guys in the tech press know about it and its specifics. Could be one hell of a bargaining chip to force an early release of 2.1

This doesn't seem to be totally accurate since in my case I've been using Fresh roms since the first release and have never had any market related issues. To me this would imply there's a bit more going with that. Just thought that this should be noted.

Again??? this is your first post in this thread... and if you have to start out by saying that you're not trying to be a jerk, then you probably are. It's kinda like saying "all due respect" when you have no intention of showing respect.
If you search this forum you'll find the evidence to my statements. I've been using MoDaCo's ROM and have seen numerous people that switched from Fresh and can't get the the market to work. I'm not any way devaluing the Fresh ROM or their work. I'm simply saying that there was a setting in a file (I can't remember what file exactly - you'd have to search that answer out yourself) that messed up the market for a bunch of people. This may have been an isolated issue to one version of Fresh (hence when I said "some"). If you weren't affected then you're a lucky one, but that doesn't mean that other people aren't affected. Also, my thread was informational to show that this guy's customers may have loaded a custom ROM... The ROM could have been from Fresh or anybody else (or even customized by his customers themselves).

I have had this issue with two Heros with and without third party msg apps. Also the first thing I do in setting up my msg apps is to disable the popup notificacion (just bugs me) and I have had the same thing happen. In fact I've had my msg app (whether it be stock, CHOMP, or Handcent) open and waiting for test mms msgs I sent to myself and still experienced the same problem. Again, just thought it should be noted.

Lol. Thought I edited the post. To early in the morning I guess. My point was simply that what you stated isnt necessarily true in all cases, specifically mine. And so to me this would be evidence the rom is not the issue and that there may be more to it. Thats all I was saying. Didnt mean to offend.
The only time i have heard that a Fresh ROM messed up the market was Fresh 2.1. Its just an AOSP rom and it was known for messing up the market but a fix was posted.
I just lost a lot of respect for you gbhil. What are you going to do next? Threaten the class president to try and get Obama to sign a bill?
LOL. Yeah, I'm really just gonna call up the CEO and the development department...everyone in tech support has their number....
Oh, and in response to the latest posts.....Aside from the youtube issue, a hard reset takes care of all the issue I listed. I thought I mentioned that. So that rules out the phone being permanently screwed up by bad roms. Plus, I assure you, the people that call in with these issues don't even know how to get into the phones settings, and it takes them about 10 minutes to type their google username and password. And the "cannot establish a reliable data connection" issue with google and android market isnt just the market. It happens when they try to sign into Google, sometimes when they just bought the phone and are doing it during the activation process. It also happens on the Samsung moment, so I think its safe to say it isn't a rom flashing issue. And the picmail happened on my hero before I even rooted it, and occurs on the stock app and handcent. When they call in with it happenning on stock messaging app, I have them download handcent as part of troubleshooting. As I said, after all troubleshooting is done, they maybe get half their MMS.

Do you actually work for Sprint? or are you reselling their services?
Sprint recommends that you do not even TRY to use data until 4 hours after activating the phone. It takes some time for the account to properly provision through all their systems and if you attempt to use data before the account has provisioned completely then it screws up the vision profile to the point where you MUST call Sprint and have them fix it (i.e. nothing you can do to fix it).
I ask if you work for Sprint because if you do, you'd know that and wouldn't have people trying to connect to Google right away.
Now, I know that people are going to say that this is part of the setup process for the Hero (enter your account information), and that they did it out of the box with no problem, and the Sprint reps set the phone up for them in the store, and Best Buy will set the phone up for you and they don't have problems, and a whole bunch of "it didn't cause problems for me"... but that doesn't change the fact that Sprint says quite clearly "do not try to use the vision data until 4 hours after activating the account".
So... if you're having data problems, and you don't want to use my suggestion from before to reset the Vision Profile, then call Sprint and have them do their magic little fix.

google owns admob. you're going to get ads in almost any app you open up. only way to get rid of them, as far as i know, is to root your phone and install an adblocker. you need root privleges for that to work.
Weird, I've never had anything like that on any of my Android phones. Definitely would be annoying though. The text message spam isn't as weird as it popping up under the official OS, this doesn't sound admob related to me though.
nopes
this is not admob related.. its not diff advertising.. its the same company, advertising local nyc party events. but its the same company party promoter.
and also the text and pop ups are two separate incidents. i dont get the sms and than after the alert.. they come and diff times.
ive done the master reset on the g1 numerous times.. deleted all the apps i dled etc.. i kinda just fig it was a lost cause.. than i got it on the nexus 1, the first day i got it.. didnt even install anything on it. so i figured maybe id research around..
you don't need to DL anything. stock apps will have ads too. blame google for that. my nexus was throwing up ads before i ever put anything on it. not on home, not in phone, but as soon as anything else was opened, ads.

Possible Quality Control issues with ZTE Axon 7

Pros:
beautiful screen and overall a nice phone, got headphones with pre order. and am excited about the prospects of a new flagship phone.
Cons:
Camera stopped functioning today, it was delivered at 4:10pm July 27th, it is now 5:05am July 28th as i write this. Customer service is closed and i've already gone through wiping the cache, formatting and factory resetting the phone. removing my sim card and SD card.
formatting again, clearing the cache on the camera app
then resetting the phone and clearing the cache and reinstalling.
i even went so far as to stop google from recovering my downloads from the playstore to be on the safe side and insure that the phone was completely stock out of the box.
and i got "Unable to connect to camera,Camera has been disabled because of security policies or is being used by other apps" the phone and the flashlight are not functioning. and installing 3rd party camera apps doesn't fix the issue.
Will follow up if ZTE is able to give repair steps that don't result in mailing my phone back to newegg.
Other Thoughts:
Would not recommend to anyone at this current time, as this same issue plagued another phone of ZTE's called the ZTE max and seems to have followed to their newest flagship
if anyone has a fix for this sort of issue please let me know otherwise ill do a write up based on what ZTE provides to me later on today

me too lol :good:
Do you think it's possible that you revoked its permission to use the camera? I would check the app manager.
Other possible solutions I found:
* Turn off OK Google detection from any app
* If you can boot into a recovery mode, wipe the cache partition
* Turn off face detection smart lock
* Make sure camera shortcut on the lock screen is enabled
* Remove any Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account you might have setup

I haven't revoked permissions although i did check again. i formatted the phone a total of 6 times and had it bare bones. however when the camera doesn't work neither does the flashlight. so a tail tail sign in the past has been if both dont work. an RMA is needed. hopefully ZTE will be able to help sort this out so i can amend the post content to reflect their customer service.

One last thing to try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lrodlor.camless
I looked up the error message and it seems to have something to do with device policy. This app should be able to change the camera policy.

Let me know how that goes.
It didn't work but.
I hope its resolved relatively soon as well.. i wanted to post pictures so people knew i wasn't just slandering the phone or anything. i have tried different camera apps. but they dont work. nor does the Flashlight feature in the quick launch. i looked up old threads on similar issues and saw people doing things from disabling security certificates (all of them manually because the clear option was greyed out.) and i spent about 20 minutes doing that while on hold with newegg since ZTE was closed. hopefully this issue will be a fluke and it wont be the same with the second and third phone i have coming.... one tomorrow and one tuesday because that would be disheartening.

Gee, read the ZTE USA forum and it seems there are several random issues plaguing some users, and not small issues, hopefully software based and will be remedied with updates. I will do a wait and see approach before I order, I'm in Australia and will have to use a post shipping house, as not being released here, so quick if any warranty maybe problematic. Will want to make sure everything is honky Dory before committing to a purchase. Maybe back to opo3 if not resolved.

Was the camera/flashlight error ever resolved? I just bought an Axon 7 and it has same problem. My phone is not rooted, just stock.

The only issue with this phone I've read about is the dust inside the camera lens. I have some particles there but I don't think it affects the picture quality yet.

And the broken OIS (incredibly common) and the lack of an antibricking measure in place and the screen dying because it didn't like your hand's humidity... ZTE replaces the phone with all of these problems luckily. But when they have stock.

I am having a problem getting my OP5 to work

IF someone could take time out of your busy schedules I would be most grateful and could make it up to you
I got the OP5. I used it one day, yesterday. Today I am sporadically able to get on the internet, most of the times not. I started getting a KEY icon in the status bar
I googled and searched to see it has something to do with an APN or VPN I don't know what they are, I am sorry
I tried to read how to do it but got intimidated on different ways, one manual one another way, on each site. Many ways
I tried to work it out with OnePlus Service. Their service has a lot to be deserved. The first guy didn't know what it was. The second was, I sent a screen shot, he said he'd talk to level 2 and call back
45 minutes later, I got an email saying "Thanks your issue has been solved" I tried to call back, to no avail. Closed
If anyone could walk me thru it, here, private messages, email I would be most grateful. I have lets say a few health issues and parents I need to reach, and have no land line
I don't want to return the phone.
Thank You
Eric

Are you in the US ?if so which network ATT or T Mobile ? have you installed the OS update that they pushed out today ? oh and the best way to contact OP support is via the CHAT app. you shouldn't have to monkey w/ the VPN settings. UPDATE: they are about to push out a 4.5.3 hotfix update.

Have you downloaded any battery saving applications,? Doze, etc.
I would start uninstalling 3rd party apps, starting with the most recent ones.

I'm on T Mobile and have never had a problem w/ T Mobile and OnePlus (and I've owned EVERY model they have put out). You should not have to touch your APN settings at all. Currently your OP5 should be on Oxygen OS 4.5.2 and they are pushing out an update tomorrow (4.5.3) but I don't think either update has anything to do with your issues. I assume you have your T-mobile Sim card in slot #1 correct ... it will tell you that information under settings> SIM & NETWORK SETTINGS. Below is a screen shot from my OP3T, but the OP5 looks the same. Make sure the Mobile Data is turned on as shown. When all else fails....just do a factory reset and start over. Make sure you are somewhere that has WIFI if you have to do so, makes set up much easier. And again, I only ever have to go to this settings when setting up a new phone if I want to turn on VoLTE, all the other settings are factory set.

most probably a wrong vpn setting. Try gong to settings>more>vpn and delete any vpn listing if there are any
Jerry, Alan.....thank you. Jerry my settings are exactly as they are in your pic. I found that Lookout has web browser protection on and when I take it off, it works...sort of. I have used Lookout on many phones and this wasn't an issue. Many say Lookout and similar is not needed?
Well when I went to the VPN setting, a Lookout icon was there, I deleted it.
But my email is not working and I'm not sure how related. TypeApp I cannot set up my account and log in. I was able to log into K9 which I don't prefer, but regardless, I am not getting notifications.
Thanks a lot for your help. As I believe I stated in my post, I am well aware that when people volunteer to help they are taking from their personal time.

Lookout ? I haven't heard of that "lost my phone" app I'm YEARS, haha. Didn't know they were still around. Android has "lost my phone" built in now. Ya don't even have to turn it on now. As for "email" apps...I have always just used GMAIL app. Sounds like you are just having various app setting problems. If you mean actually HEARING notifications ... Make sure your notifications slider is not turned to the middle "do not disturb" setting. The slider of course is on the left side of the phone. It has 3 different positions.
If does look like app incompatibilities. I am able to get online uninstalled Lookout antivirus. I don't need one? T-Mobile has given us Pro for years

Samsung Galaxy A9-6 Help Needed

As'slamu Allekum (Peace to all of you)
I've recently bought Samsung Galaxy A9-6, it's totally genuine nothing have been altered, and after using a month or like so I've started getting that annoying screen, every time i receive a call or missed call it shows up saying caller ID, I've formated my cell once and it had gone now its back again and its hell of annoying,
things I've done
1-I never install apps out of play store
2- I never install any caller ID App (as it doesn't work in Pakistan yet)
3- I've formatted my cell and installed all apps (which i always had on all my Android devices but this problem never occurred)
4- There is no such Caller ID app in bloatwears or apps (in settings section)
5- when i click the links on that screen it takes me to a website page which is whosthat dot com
6- I've Googled it and it says DU caller ID (although I've never installed it)
Info about my cell
Samsung Galaxy A9-6
Model: SM-A9000
Software version: 6.0.1
Baseband Version: A9000ZHU1BQE1
Android Security Patch: 1 May 2017
I always keep my cell updated
I've taken screen shots which I'm attaching here.

Hey buddy I think I have solved it, it's a theory which is working till now, I had once visited TrueCaller online portal from my Chrome browser on my cell, although I had given consent for my Microsoft ID i think i had enabled some sort of notification thing or so, previously I had removed true caller web site in settings from my chrome, now again last night I formatted my cell and installed fewer apps but I haven't synchronized my chrome bookmarks and till now the cell is working fine, just a theory might be wrong but it has been 12 hours my cell is doing fine. test it and then let me know, please. I'll let you know if this theory fails.
thanks

I do not have this problem but I've experienced similar things in the past when you get very annoying adverts that prevent phone from sleeping whilst it's connected to a charger.
It usually come with an application. UC browser is very notorious for this. Turning off notifications from such apps could help.

Hi!
My mom met same problem at xiaomi redmi 3.
Solved it today, but have no garanties that it solved forever, but i hope.
I'm sure that it's connected with Caller DU, because if you press "private policy" in window after call, it opens page from DU caller's site.
Then i just install that f**in DU Caller, turn off all of it's features and then delet it and now i have no annoying popup messages.
just in case, sorry for my english

I had never installed any caller app on my phone still I started receiving those popups and in privacy policy, I read the email address, emailed them and luckily within few weeks they replied but was not sufficient as they didn't tell me the root cause neither the solution was helpful, so i checked all apps one by one and bingo, it was chrome, just didn't restore chrome bookmarks after factory reset and everything came okay
