Note 5 Sounds for Rooted Users - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 General

It is just a little gift but here are the Note 5 audio files for you. The touch sound is much better than the stock Note 4 sound and there are some nice other ringtones and such as well. Just flash the file and it will add all of the Note 5 sounds to the rom. As always I provide a removal tool so if you want to revert back, flash the removal zip and everything will be restored like it was before. This includes any modified sounds you had before you flashed my file! The removal tool can only be used IF you flashed my file and is NOT a way to simply put the stock rom sounds back for another purpose.
Just flash the file in TWRP and enjoy!

I like it better than the droplet sound the N4 has but everyone has their own likes and dislikes.
I normally turn that sound off anyway but I don't mind this one as much.

Note 4 touch sound on note 5
Can you install the note 4 water drop touch sound on a note 5?

[AOSP Unlock] Is it possible to add sound byte?

I'm running Quantum ROM 2.5 w/ EXT4 and DK28 with AOSP lockscreen and ADW.EX as my launcher of choice.
My wife is running stock with TW.
The only thing I miss about my stock Epic is the TW unlock sound effect. Reminds me of the NCIS sound byte that pops coming out of commercials.
Is it possible to add a custom unlock sound byte/effect to the AOSP unlock?
Anyone know how to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance! Superficial I know, can't help it, I hear it on my wife's phone all the time.
Sent from my Epic 4G on XDA App
You would have to replace the 'unlock.ogg' file in /system/media/audio/ui. Would be pretty straight forward if you could get your hands on the sound file for what you would like to use. I'm not running a stock ROM so I can't grab the .ogg file that applies for stock TW sound.
Thanks Leather, but it's not that simple.
There is already an Unlock.ogg but I went ahead and backed it up and replaced and rebooted and still no sound on AOSP unlock bro... gotta be something deeper than that!
What next?
Sent from my Epic 4G on XDA App
This might sound silly, but make sure that you have 'Screen Lock Sounds' enabled in the phone's sound settings. If you can get A sound to work then you should just have to replace 'unlock.ogg' with the TW one (renamed of course).

Silly, no... I'm just hard headed! There it was all along. I thought I'd have to change a configuration file or something a little more challenging. Thanks for pointing out the setting, din't know it was a standalone option there!
Working great now! Thanks!

ICS Amplified Sound

The UI sounds of lock, unlock and touch, are a bit low on ICS.
I have amplified those sounds and now they sound perfect!
The zip it's not a CWM zip, so you may put manually the files into system/media/audio/ui and overwrite! Don't miss to aply the correct permissions like the other files.
Enjoy!

[Q] Changing the Unlock Sound on the Galaxy S4 i337

Hey folks,
Got a question for you. On my shiny new SGH-i337M (Rogers Stock, rooted only) GS4, I want to change the sound of my unlock sound. I'm using the light effect, but want to change the sound from the sort of ding-a-ling to a different tune (I have the audio file I want to use already, MP3 format (can change if needed)).
I've looked in /system/media/ui, and none of the unlock options there seem to be the right one, so I'm kinda stumped.
Thanks,
don't think you can custom change unlock sound--maybe if rooted
i have copy & pasted my custom ringtone and notification sounds to appropriate folders
you can add your own text to lockscreen though--get ris of "Life Companion"
EDIT: Found this for S3--did not have time to look at it--

It is most likely inside the app for the unlock stuff. You'd have to decompile the app find it in the app then change the name of the new file whatever the old one was and then recompile it.
EDIT: shouldn't take but 10 mins at most.

Had time to look at this and found audio/ui also. But, my phone plays the att sound and nothing else. Either on or off per Settings/My Device/Sound/Screen Lock Sound. I turned it off then back on and I get a ding when turning power on. Wierd. The unlock.ogg doesnt't sound anything like the att sound I have. Must be missing something? Doesn't really matter to me though, prefer sound off anyway.
As a side note, semi OT, I finally, through all my noob reading, found out how to get rid of "Life Companion" on lockscreen. Thank Goodness--
@geoldr, I'd already looked there, if you'd read the post. The unlock.ogg isn't the same sound.
@toxicpaulution, that's a good option. I'll look into it (assuming I can learn to do that. I'm not THAT in-depth of knowledge about the Android OS.
Altered Sounds For D/L
Hey, new here! However, i have managed to edit two sounds so far. The Lock sound & the start-up Sound. Lock sound is Mario Pipe sound, and start-up sound, if anyone is interested in rap, is Bone Thugs & Harmony - 1st Of the Month.
>Must be Rooted<
Download Files Below & Extract.
Then Simply navigate to > /system/media/audio/ui and replace files :
lens_flare_lock.ogg (Lock Sound)
PowerOn.ogg (Start-up Sound)
Reboot Phone to Enable new sounds.
Currently working on Unlock sounds as well, haven't got it yet . However, anyone who wants a custom sound (Start-up/Lock) of their own, Shoot me a message & I'll see what i can do :victory:
I do not think this will work with light effect selected, this method requires the ripple effect to be selected.
I may be wrong. But the last that tried, it had to be ripple.

Thanks Venom!!! I replaced my lock/unlock ui sounds but couldn't figure out how to get rid of the ripple effect that played before my custom unlock sound. Replaced the unlock.ogg file (ripple sound) within the Framework.apk (resources/raw) and was able to get the exact effect I wanted.
I tried the lens_flare_lock.ogg now I can't lock my screen . Please help

I gave up on DSP Manager after it never seemed to play music via the right profile (eg, bluetooth headphones would often be played with the "speaker" profile, or other shenanigans)
Then I discovered Vipers Audio! And never looked back... (I have this running on my Note 3)

Wow thanks for the prompt reply dude. I agree Dsp isn't perfect, but it would help compared to stock, it's really awful imo.
So, in your experience has Viper improved the external speaker experience? I'm not so fussed with the 3.5, it's the external sounds that are bugging me.
Thanks

I haven't used it for the external speaker (but it supports this, just as DSP Manager does), but I don't think you'll be disappointed if you were to try it.
FYI: I use the "Lock effect mode" to force my Bluetooth audio profile onto all audio outputs, works a charm.

Yes, you need root to complete the install. It goes something like this: install it like a normal APK, open it, it will ask for root privs, once granted, it will autoinstall the audio driver, and then all you need to do is restart. Job done!

Just a thought tho - the Note 3 external driver is small, doesn't it distort easily driving bassy beats?

Yeah, heres my profile I use: *lots* of bass via the Dynamic Subsystem module, EQ that brings out the highs, and the "Extreme Headphone V1" listening device.
The profile files go under your SD Card under the viper4android/profiles directory (if the folder doesn't exist, try saving a profile first to autocreate it)

Dude.....seriously?
Bass is driven by the amount of air the driver can push - Base is omni-directional (i.e.you feel it rather than hearing where it's coming from) so it doesn't really matter where you put your bass unit from a surround sound setup.
If you think the external speaker is going to give ANY sort of bass, you're seriously misguided, sorry!
If the frequency is too low then the unit just won't play it, that's why speakers have a frequency range.

Adding Water Droplet Sound to GPE Edition?

So one of my family members received a S4 GPE Edition but they want to have the Water Droplet sound added so that it can be played when something is tapped.
So does anyone have the files for that? And how exactly can it be added to a Google Play Edition phone?

It`s quite easy...root your device and in system/media/sounds (or something like that) you will find all the sounds lilke alarm, notifications, and UI. Find the desired sound and replace it with the new one!
Oh, but I mean having it play for every single thing that is touched. For example with the Touchwiz software, tapping on anything would trigger the Water Droplet sound and that's what they want. Also, I don't believe the GPE Edition even has the sound seeing as it's a Touchwiz exclusive.
S4 sounds pack: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23159073880932684
Find the sound you want to replace in your system/media/sound/UI folder and replace it with the water droplet sound, making sure you've renamed the water droplet sound to the same filename as the sound you're replacing. Edit permissions: tick all the read boxes, and just the topmost write box only. (644?)
Thanks for the sound pack. It worked!
