Hello ..
I know Xperia Z2 D6502 does not support LTE but where as its other variants like D6503 and D6543 supports.
My query is if I flash D6503 in my Z2 (D6502) then will it supports LTE? Does it requires separate hardware component for it to support LTE?
( May be this is a stupid question but I really wanna know if this can be done)
Thank U.

Hi, first of all don't ask questions in General section. Go to Q & A
You can flash D6503 ROMs on D6502 but you will have no cell reception until you flash the D6502 modem(firmware). Yes the only difference between D6502 and D6503 is the hardware radio(modem).

Only one answer :- NO
Hi I have a D6503 which had some display and camera quality issues (working device though). I bought a second hand D6502 as a result. Anyway can I transfer the radio modem from the first to the second to get LTE? I will take it to a repair shop ofcourse to do the actual transfer.

You can try, it should theoretically work. But you need to flash a D6503 fw before the surgery on the D6502.

Why dont u just interchange the motherboard nd replace camera unit(which is detachable afaik). And this will definitly fix ur display, camera issue and u will get LTE aswell.

Hello. Update 17.1.1.A.0.402 just started rolling out: for some reason you can't get any notification from the phone itself even if you check for the new updates in About Phone corresponding section, but once you connect it to PC with Sony PC Companion installed, it offers you to download and install the update.
Nice. Would be great to know if anybody has it and if it works well..

Well, I hoped for 4k video fix but got the overheat message in 4 mins writing on my sandisk extreme pro 16 gb. My phone is in official sony case though, maybe this is the issue. Have your results improved?
If you want longer 4k sessions, turn off image stabilization. Atleast in my case, it doubled the time, from 5 to 10mins. Though custom rom and kernel might also have something to do with this.
Now we need root!
I would love to know if the battery life stays on the same great level
Interesting, my 4G indicator now says LTE here on AT&T .. The phone does seem snappier, quicker response for sure over .55. :good:
Here you can find a FTF

Can someone post a picture of the About screen please?
Same aweful bad heating problems if u use 4k videos.

Fixing this isn't as easy as you might think. It probably needs hardware modifications and there is nothing Sony may do about it.

would be great if someone upload a prerooted .726 for flashing over recovery for those with D6653 with D6603 FW
two things that i have noticed so far -
1. Screen dimming animation is not smooth
2. Smart band SWR10 keeps disconnecting thus impacting smart lock and needs a wipe and re-configuration.
Any one facing the same issues?

Thanks
@TheDutt
Hey, that was a very detailed reply.
1. Please check with airtel they have 128K 4G sim. They charge some 250 bucks when i upgraded sometime back. Its worth.
2. Install an app called open signal - its a way better substitute of speedtest.org (very lean and lot less data hungry) Use it to check on how optimised the 4G network is at your most used places
3. Not sure if this is my mind playing trick or its actually true ...an FTF install gives a better wipe of the device. If you are not comfortable using the flashtool do a repair from PCC that wipes the device aswell
Lastly i hope you did not restore apps data from the backup. Please know the kernal code completely changed from kitkat to lollipop so the cleaner install will make a difference.
I have been using lollipop on Z3 since it was released in Baltic region. the initial releases did have some bugs, heating issues and battery drain. But the release that we have in India is very close to 3 build and its a very stable one.
Hope this helps. Lets me know if you need any more information.
Smartband not working in N
Hi,
I'm having the same issue with SWR10 (it does not track my sleep and the band's alarm is not working anymore).
Smartband App keeps crashing. What is the proper place/ way to report this bug to Sony?
Thank you.

Having issues with Adoptive storage and the stock camera app. It won't take photos and says:
Memory error
SD card unavailable
Hopefully we can find a work around soon, but otherwise, Google Camera might be necessary in the meantime.
Just want to let you guys know that today, Sony has uploaded the official firmware for the USA version for the E6603 device. It's version 32.0.A.6.209 with a region tag of R4B. It's listed as Customized US (unbranded). This is the first time the firmware is released for a non dual Z5 device. The CDA is 1300-4290.
I'm guessing this firmware is still lollipop and not marshmallow, right?
Quick question, if I switch firmwares, would I lose my DRM keys? I have locked bootloader still and don't want to lose them. I do want to switch firmwares to US or Canada so I have a local baseband. The signal is not the best and I'm pretty sure switching firmwares will definitely help with that.
You only lose DRM keys when you unlock bootloader.
Is it 5.1.1 still?? what changes or fixes does it have??

Offcourse there's noise when zooming, that's the way digital zoom works.
If you take two pictures in a tripod stand, one zoomed and one not zoomed you can cut the not zoomed image to the same size and have two exact same images. Digital zoom is worthless, it is the exact same thing as zooming in on a pic in the gallery.

At least sony should start marshmallow concept for z5 user.
Z3 users are enjoying the concept build but z5 user are waiting.
We deserve concept build

Fingerprint stop working with this update? Really has no fingerprint in US devices?
I've tried this (.209) firmware, it does remove the fingerprint option.
Was forced to go back to the older firmware to get it back ;D

lolol, does that mean the US devices only have it disabled in software? Seems likely, I didn't think they'd start a new production line just to remove the fingerprint reader.
Did you notice any change in signal though?

See, the signal was why I was looking forward to this being released but I won't trade fingerprint for better signal :/
Honestly the signal was just the same.
Although my comments could not be very accurate, since the signal around home and work is very strong.

You need someone who got the phone to try flashing the phone with other firmware, that way you know forsure if they removed the hardware.
I think when on 8th of February someane buys officiall US variant, and if Fingerprint doesnt work, someone will just try to flash other versions, for example CE1 or other, to see if it'll work. Might be.

I read this on Google and some other Forums, and im not sure if this works for CyanogenOS 12/13 in Lenovo ZUK Z1, although it works in Stock Android. If not then i hope that Lenovo provides OTA update for Volte support as Android 5.1 supports Volte for sure.
Maybe we will need to send request to them in huge quantity to send the updates Faster
