Verizon says ...

.
I think this tried to install on my rooted (no custom recovery) tablet yesterday. Sent the tablet into bootloops for most of the day until I finally got the LG Mobile Support tool to take me back to 35A.
UPDATE: Went ahead and tried the update again since I was already not rooted (lost it in the transition), and it went smooth - took about 15 minutes.
Downloaded the nearly 1.4GB image after which the install took only about 10 minutes, if that. The first boot requires "Android is upgrading" (per ART compiling requirments), which took another 10.
I don't see any outward changes to the software (Android 5.0.2 Lollipop), but I wasn't really expecting any, based on the release notes. The things I'd like to see added, like LG Backup and a full featured Quick Remote (like the version the G3 uses) could be so easy to implement. Maybe I just need to find the APK and add them myself, but I somehow doubt it's possible without root.
I stand by the post I made about the last software release for this device: Lollipop on the VK810 brought a huge improvement!

Ditto. A weird thing happened during the download. Both my VK810 tablets showed the update available, and so I started the download on one and (for reasons unrelated to the update) started a factory restore on the other to 35A. The 1st tablet hung at about 300MB into the update, and successively rebooting it (multiple times) would only get another 30MB or so into the download after each reboot. Meanwhile, my factory restore on the 2nd tablet completed, and it started the download and quickly moved to apply the update. Once the 2nd tablet completed the download, the 1st tablet download came to life and promptly completed and updated.
Like you, I notice no difference other than that the LG Backup is "missing". A real nuisance, since I have two VK810s, and after the factory restore on the 2nd one above, I would have liked to not spent an hour or two reconfiguring all the settings and apps.
Note to LG: Come on, LG !!! You can buy my loyalty pretty cheaply, since you already have the code working on the G3 and (I think) other G-Pads.
any real improvement or just security patch+ signal fix ? Which apk are responsible for the update? I wanna disable it till we can root 36B . It seems like they dont use LGFOTA.apk
FYI (for what it's worth), with 36B it looks like they updated the built-in Google Play Store to v5.5.12, and the Google Play services to v7.5.71 (1955121-436), which are presumably the latest - certainly a lot more recent than what was included in 35A_08. Doesn't look like they updated anything else though, including the rest of the Google Apps. Doesn't matter to me though since I always move apps that get updated often to data/app instead of leaving them in system/app or system/priv-app, only to get the updates in data/app.
Also, according to this (screenshot in the post I link to), LG and Verizon must have released this before the latest Stagefright vulnerability was revealed, CVE-2015-3864. All the other six Stagefright vulnerabilities are patched according to this app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62429575&postcount=145

They may have bought my loyalty already. The screen on my G Pad was having problems from day 1, but got a lot more noticeable up to six months later. I got an RMA, they payed not just for shipping but for UPS to package the tablet up. I dropped it off at a UPS on a Monday night and the tablet was repaired (not replaced with a refurb) and back in my hands by the following Friday.
That's much better than my warranty repair experience with a Samsung Galaxy S2 that had it's common power button problem, took weeks maybe even almost a month.

It works for me under Windows 10 - I have driver v2.22. Power down the tablet, plug it into the PC, wait for the battery animation to start, then press and hold Volume Up, and press and hold Power On. You should see "Download Mode" very faintly in the center of the screen.

My SEA/20b version has intermittent weirdness with wireless charging. It often wakes in the night to say its charging slowly. I'm using an LG WCP-700 charging pad.
Guys, for some reason I feel that 20b is better than 20e (had that before the official launch of lollipop for SEA).
after updating via pc suite and checking for another update, it shows two upgrades available with version that is still v20b.
can someone please let me know if they have successfully upgraded their phone with both upgrades?
thanks.

well that didnt go well, it was a two part update to 20b, after the first part installed it got stuck in a boot loop and then second part installed still in boot loop, after install finished it just kept boot looping, i had to put it in recovery mode and do a factory reset, that worked but it loaded up with 10k 4.4.2 kitkat, so pluged it back in and ive just updated back to 20b, think ill leave it there unless somebody wants to try it

Update sucks, a bit laggy, and usage bumped up from 14% to 20% in smart cleaning. And there's really no need for T-action, though quick remote did get its very much needed upgrade.
I think this has some added bloatware to it, guest mode is gone (i mean half-a$$ed), quick memo+ does not activate when pressing its icon from the integrated home button, but I did discover a way to use it.
First, open the quick memo icon (green), close it, then press the shortcut on the home tray, now it works!

If you are still running the official stock before lollipop it is a definite improvement, however LG should be releasing the actual official release here sooner (starts trying not to laugh) or later.
Oh who am I kidding, we aren't seeing the official update until fall here in the states for the V500.
LG's non phone updates are difficult to forecast to say the least. They seem to be primarily focusing on their phones (G2, G3 and now the G4) the tablet business appears to be an afterthought.
The QPair stuff seems to finally be working for me after testing this weekend. In previous situations it could not handle disconnections and reconnections very well. Now that both devices are running lollipop and the latest version of QPair things seem to be working better... In addition my problem with SDCard's perpetually unmounting on stock 4.4.2 appears to have gone away with lollipop. My problem after a long amount of research, only occurred when the pad sleeps in a certain way. I do not have to root and disable a certain sleep mode anymore with the new release (so far with one week of testing the Korean v500 release).

Can u be more precise about the issue? I didn't understand what you're trying to say.
I'm gonna update with the Korean version as I can no longer wait for the update, but time is preventing me
There is a thread about it.... Basically the sdcard starts unmounting uncontrollably. It is now (as of this evening) confirmed to still be present in the Korean release. Which means as before I will avoid the LG built kernel... If you want you can monitor your tablet with the app called sdcard monitor by Ahmed Moharram in the play store. If you get bad removals without rebooting your tablet you have the problem.
The thread that I was thinking of is linked below, and other threads/posts are referenced in my post in that thread... I find that running certain roms or kernels avoids the issue completely which really bothers me since it means that the devs know this tablet better than LG actually does... I know it isn't a hardware problem since the 4.2.2 original release of the software for this tablet does not exhibit the issue...
Thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-pad-83/general/solved-sd-card-unmounting-issue-t3053909
I thought the notification names and related were changed to English default in this rom, but it isn't.

Yes, last night, Happy Valentine's Day to me and my phone!
So far the update appears as "Mostly Harmless" it's billed as security fixes.
After installing the phone didn't melt, brick, explode, rip, snort, farkle nor fall apart so, again, "Mostly Harmless."
I updated yesterday also, and can not find anything new or different? Other than my phone is really slow for about 10 minutes after the update/reboot, then it runs fine.
Not much info on the internet other than security update.
Still no antirollback on this latest update (VS9951AA)???
Just received an update tonight from Verizon.
Running Alpha 1aa....I blocked the update just passing the info along.
Could someone please capture a kdz for all of us here?
Saw that this morning too. Deciding if I want to upgrade now. Probably will wait a bit given the less than stellar reports other users are giving on other models.
I'm going to wait as well. I don't have any issue with Android 7.0 on my US997. My average battery usage is 85 hours. I use the phone daily for calls, texts, emails, calendar & alarms, notes, camera, news, chess, fm radio, and mp3. Other apps like youtube, redbull tv, gps, etc. get used on a weekly basis only.
it's lit
Also waiting for the kdz...
I am updating as I type this, excuse my ignorance, what is a kdz?

KDZ is the format which LG uses when posting official firmware releases on their website. KDZ are all stock releases from LG. Custom ROMs do not come as KDZ, the tend to come as ZIP file.
Once it is downloaded, where is the kdz file located so that I can share it?

It's weird it looks like LG bridge wants to update my phone, but i keep getting a server error. I have the US Cellular variant, and i think thats the issue.
Thanks for all your efforts guys, truly appreciate it.

Not yet, I used LG UP to get my phone up to 17a from 16c. Still no notification.
I used LG Bridge to take the update for 20b on Friday night and I copied out the KDZ when it was finished downloading. I can upload/share it but I'm not sure how to do it here on XDA. All I've got is google drive and I'm not terribly eager to post a link to a file on my personal-use drive.
