Could someone please capture a kdz for all of us here?
Saw that this morning too. Deciding if I want to upgrade now. Probably will wait a bit given the less than stellar reports other users are giving on other models.
I'm going to wait as well. I don't have any issue with Android 7.0 on my US997. My average battery usage is 85 hours. I use the phone daily for calls, texts, emails, calendar & alarms, notes, camera, news, chess, fm radio, and mp3. Other apps like youtube, redbull tv, gps, etc. get used on a weekly basis only.
it's lit
Also waiting for the kdz...
I am updating as I type this, excuse my ignorance, what is a kdz?
Can someone on US997 oreo type *#546368#*997# in the dialer and let me know what your ARB version is? It'll look like so.

KDZ is the format which LG uses when posting official firmware releases on their website. KDZ are all stock releases from LG. Custom ROMs do not come as KDZ, the tend to come as ZIP file.
Once it is downloaded, where is the kdz file located so that I can share it?

It's weird it looks like LG bridge wants to update my phone, but i keep getting a server error. I have the US Cellular variant, and i think thats the issue.
Thanks for all your efforts guys, truly appreciate it.

Not yet, I used LG UP to get my phone up to 17a from 16c. Still no notification.
I used LG Bridge to take the update for 20b on Friday night and I copied out the KDZ when it was finished downloading. I can upload/share it but I'm not sure how to do it here on XDA. All I've got is google drive and I'm not terribly eager to post a link to a file on my personal-use drive.

I don't know really. just noticed this new FW.
I observed that Quick Circle app does not work well under 20D. It has screen refresh issues when case is closed.
never happened under KitKat.
I hope that 20E solves that.

Can I install this on an SEA phone?
I have unwittingly bought a D855 32Gb phone which looks like it was meant for the south east asian market (V10K-SEA-XX).
Can you answer the following questions for me?
1 - Will this EUR rom work on my phone?
2- Will my phone still appear un-rooted i.e. indistinguishable from a bought european phone (Some of my apps will annoyingly refuse to work if it's rooted)
3 - My model does not currently have the 4g option, from reading on here I believe it has been disabled in the software of some SEA phones. Will this EUR rom enable 4g?
I suspect (and hope!) that the answers will be yes, yes and yes! Give me some good news!
Thanks for your help
Hey!
I hope it will help but I'm a super noob and that was my first flashing ever.
So I have the SEA model too. I used this update and everything worked without any problem, I have the v20e version now. (The software version changed to GLOBAL but it's still SEA - so you will only get the OTA when they get the OTA at SEA region.)
I read somewhere that you will get the OTAs when it will be available for your region (so SEA in our case). But since flashing is super easy and I can't wait weeks to get my updates probably it wont really affect me.
And I can see the LTE option in the settings.
I atached 2 screenshots maybe it's useful for you!
Have fun with Lollipop!
Thanks for the info mate, I think you've just convinced me to have a go with it. Which software did you use to flash yours?
Can you confirm that your phone did not need to be or end up rooted as a result?
Cheers

Any idea how long LG Bridge takes to update. Says my phone has an update available to MM and goes to preparing phone 100% 30 seconds, and sits there. It's been sitting on preparing phone now for an hour.
Restarting it doesn't do anything just does the same thing.

So sorry, I want posting that much attention to it. The download of the file took longest but it sounds as if you haven't even got that far, or have you? Once downloaded it reboot into download mode and begin flashing, 10 to 15 mins to flash. Don't know how long it took to prepare the phone before all of that though

Not long ago there was an official URL for LG phones (http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=). You just had to paste your IMEI at the end in order to download the KDZ. It's still OK for most LG smartphones, but for the G4 it doesn't work anymore...
Anybody knows why ?
I would have posted the link gladly
I just checked on my German G4, unlocked of course, and nothing.

Connect your phone to your PC then switch the USB connection type to Software Installation by swiping down on the status bar and selecting the option that says" tap to change USB connection". Once you do that a new CD Drive will pop up in My Computer with an LG logo. Double click that and then run the VZwsoftwareupdate exe. Profit
I see, so having a T-Mobile device will make me not able to use the VZW software to flash the Verizon KDZ on my T-Mobile? Could you maybe share the .exe execution file of the software so that we can give it a try
Thanks

The Verizon variant of the LG G5 is factory unlocked per FCC network access requirements for the 700mhz spectrum of LTE. Which is what he is using. A Verizon device. Not a T-Mobile or Sprint device. This Verizon KDZ will only work on Verizon devices. You have to use LG Bridge to restore your phone.

I don't know but it probably doesn't help. I had one other report of an issue, not sure if it's the same but similar at least. As with any issue I always recommend a clean install, making sure to wipe everything but storage in TWRP.

to you find the KDZ of LG Bridge you need to have hidden folders checked on folder's options, and then navigate to:
C:\Users\(your main username)\AppData\Local\LG Electronics\LG Bridge\SWUpgrade\Image\B2C_Client
but the kdz file only be there wile updating the phone, after that the file is deleted from PC. So if you want to share or save the kdz you need to connect the phone, let the LG Bridge detect the phone and click on "error recovery" (to get the same kdz you already update, otherwise the LG Bridge will say your phone is up to date) let them download until 40/50% and then disconnect the phone, the kdz should download anyway and when finished LG Bridge will say to connect the phone, at that time you just go to that directory and copy the kdz and past it anywhere you want.
what is the changelog??

thank you my friend!
´Just to warn people this shared file is not the OPEN_EU that most people are waiting for, its EEO (i dont know what this means whatsoever) but, wait till tomorrow late or later on monday we will get the v20f with the september security patch, is the only change we will get on this.
Better than nothing, i see LG very active in provide us security patches, at least the last 4 months, since almost Oreo came for this device.

It's not "OPEN_EU" in the file name so the ROM might not be completely bloatware-free.

It's a UK Carrier branded ROM for EE (Everything Everywhere), so yes, not an Open Eu ROM.
