I have a i9506 and it had perfect sound quality. After going from Lollipop DOF1 to DOF2 with arther97 kernel the sound trough headphones got really bad.(if 100% is perfect, it is at 10% quality). I have tried flashing older roms. I even tried to go KK again but it always has bad sound. When the phone is doing nothing its ok, but as soon as it has to make a sound there is a pop in the right channel and lots of noise, after about 5-6 secs of silence(headphones still make noise) it pops again and goes to normal. I tested the headphones and they are ok. It makes the same problem with other headphones and my PC stereo. There are other bugs like poping when chainging songs. I have tried v4d but it didnt fix it. It just made it bareble. (~70% quality, no poping between songs), but it still pops like hell and has lots of noise. The jack is clean, and its connected normaly to the motherboard. I have tried CM roms, kk roms, other kernels and no succes.

Hi
Just flashed coldfusionx 4.0.4 latest version.
Everything is fine except really bad sound through the headset when playing any audio!
Sounds like extremely high virtual surround sound or listening far away in a well!
I tried adjusting dsp manager, settings etc.
Still the same. This makes everything unlistenable!
How do I fix this
Update:
If I push the headphone jack all the way in, the sound is weird
however if I hold it halfway through the sound is coming perfectly though only through one of the phones.
Anyone?

Not the ROM problem. Probably a loose connection at the phone or the earphones end
Definitely something to do with the rom.
Tried with 2 different headsets....also flashed CM7 instead and the headset sound is fine!
Flashed again with coldfusionx cm9 and same problem again.
I found on my Blade that only one type of earphone connector will work fine, if the connector is plugged in fully.
There are two types of earphone connectors in case there is a mic present:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phone_connector_(audio)#Mobile_phones
For my blade only "Apple Style" worked fine, else sound quality is very bad. Also all earphones withour mic work fine.
Maybe there is also some rom rependency, I dont know, i use SS.
When I am on the phone, I can hardly hear the person on the other end that I am talking to and they usually complain about not being able to hear me. This usually ends up in me having to put the phone on speaker phone, but then they have a even hard time trying to hear me...this is really frustrating. I have the volume turned up to the max in both situations.
I am running PA 3.15 and Franco's latest nightly if that makes a difference. I also use Audio mod ( believe its called LOUDER or something, it's one of the popular ones on this forum) but I believe that only has to do with headphones, bluetooth connected devices, and the speaker for playing music. My ringtones are extremely loud, playing music on it is just fine, but in call audio sucks bad.
Anyone else experience similar issues or know of a fix?

I get bad in call quolity with aosp or aokp ROMs, have not tried PA, but when i use CM based ROM , in call is perfect.
I use Carbon, nighlies every day
Make a back up and flash latest nightly and test
I'm encountering issues of constant audio stuttering, as soon as I crank up volume a bit. It get's really distorting and impossible to listen, sound breaks twice a second.
But it only happens with my new headphones, which work perfectly on all other devices even when i turn up the volume to the max....
I don't know what else should I try... I already tried multiple different ROMs but nothing helps.
Hi!
A couple of months after I bought zuk z1, the sound just disappeared for notifications and when music was played through speaker, the speaker would make buzzing noise and it would fluctuate. Also, the sound level would fluctuate without even me touching the volume buttons. Sometimes, when I decreased the volume and increased it, it wouldn't increase and if I decrease it to zero, then even when I would increase it to full I wouldn't hear anything.
Flashing nuclearom fixed everything except the buzzing sound. To get rid of buzzing, I installed Viper4Android but instead of fixing it has brought back all the problems that existed earlier.
Also, the problem is only with phone speaker. The headphones and everything work fine.
Please help me!! I don't think it is a hardware issue because all these problems turn up on their own and they get fixed on their own for a time being.

Seems like you have nearly the same problem with the speaker:http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/general/low-speaker-sound-t3500648
I think the sound problem could be an hardware issue

I said it's not a hardware fault because sometimes when I would clear data and cache of Audio FX and force stop it, everything would come back to normal. However it worked most of the times but not always.

And without audio fx? Did you wipe system, data every time you install other roms?
When I would force stop audio fx the sound would become normal. Yes. I follow the normal procedure before flashing roms which includes wiping everything.
I forgot to mention one more thing. The ringtones would work when there was no notification sound. And after I unlocked the bootloader, the notification sound problem was gone but the buzzing remained. I know it sounds freaky.
And if it's hardware or speaker problem the buzzing shouldn't be there at low volume. But in my phone, it's always there. In my experience, I feel like it's a software bug. When i listen to some song and it buzzes, I can notice that the volume increases and decreases on it's own as if the system is trying to create a balance.
I have a Kenwood excelon DDX793 radio with BT audio and phone. Two problems:
- I experience stuttering while playing music, and sometimes it's so bad that the music app crashes.
- I can't hear anyone nor can they hear me when I make or receive a phone call. It does show an incoming call and I can make an outgoing call from the radio, but anything audio related, forget it. If I do talk loudly next to the microphone, while listening to my land line phone, I do hear a very low pitched sound. Picture and old Walkman cassette player running out of batteries.
I've searched on the net, but I couldn't find anything really useful, or I might be using the wrong wording.
It's a Note 3 SM-N900W8, factory unlocked. I did not try the stock ROM , as I went straight to rooting it and using a custom ROM. I've tried two stable ROMs, but both do the exact same thing. Could I be missing out on a firmware update?
I've tried safe mode, factory resets, different ROMs, as mentioned above, but no changes. I can live with a bit of stutter, but if I can't hear the other individual at the other end, that's a huge problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Got it fixed. Used a stock Lollipop ROM and it resolved the BT issues. Now it's my hot keys that don't work. Oh this is rich...
