I have both.Acc to me iphone 6 plus is fast in opening apps, front cam is better.Games are smoother than in Note 4.But there's a lot of freedom in Note 4.Also Note 4 is way ahead in Multitasking.Sound in iphone with headphones is better with good bass & clarity.
But if you'll switch there will be no regret

Decisions are made by thinking what kind of life you have and what kind of guy you are, its very simple, if you like simplicity just stay with your iPhone, now if you are like me, a techy guys, first of all that's why I haven't own any apple products cuz you have to stick with what they offer that's all, like I was saying, myself, I like to play around, rooting, flashing roms, I like to have control of my phone, my cpu, my gpu, I like to overclock, under clock, overvolt, undervolt, I like the way I can make my phone software different from others, because I HAVE FULL CONTROL, I like my 32GB Note 4 plus my 128GB micro SD card, yes that's a hard drive, but I use it cuz im rooted and now I can record 4k videos for 30 minutes instead 5min stock, you have the idea??? i can go anywhere and plug my phone via usb and have access to my phone, i don't have to rely on apple software or any software to access my phone or transfer anything from any computer. Yes i know you guys can jailbreak but, its not even close, i work with several iphone users, i wish u can see their face admitting and showing me their iphone lagging, but lagging like really bad on the browser, u cant still access a lot of sites, no flash player support, damn if i keep going i wont let another user share their thoughts, well i hope you got my point, good luck bro if you ever jump to the Note 4 it will be a good experience, Android is open source, and that's what makes the difference, cheers:fingers-crossed:

that's stock vs stock, now bring me your iphone and lets play any song, like i said, after you root android its another world, after flashing Dr. Kertan sound mode on my Note 4 its definitely louder and better than my friends iphone, in everyway, also i don't have any problems playing any high end game on my Exynos Note 4. Also which Note did you compare the front camera? the 3.7MP wide lens on the front camera of the Note 4 is far way better than the one in the iphone, and im not talking because of the pixels, cheers:fingers-crossed:
I like the iPhone 6 plus for its simplicity os, better range of apps that seem more stable than android (although android is catching up). I love the iPhone's keyboard, And yes the music seems more loud & clearer on the iPhone. The battery on the 6+ is amazing. I like android because it's so open & your not limited like iOS. I'm also a tech guy & like to play about. It's like having a mini PC in your hand.

Oh boy! There we go. Another iOS vs Android war.
Anyways im just gonna contribute mine too. Y'all iPrisoners have no idea what you are missing until u get out of it. I used to be one myself until i crawled out of darkness. So I'd say dont just stick to people's opinions, buy it,try it and see for yourself.
IOS is simple from the beginning but the problem is if you already know all of it and you want to do more, you cannot do it on an iPhone. While on Android, it is not that complicated that you almost cannot use it from the start. But in time, it will get simpler. And if you already get used to it and you want to do more, you can do it on android. If you want more feature on Android, just install a third party app. While on IOS, you have to wait for a major upgrade to get few simple features. But still depends on your preferences.
If you're a heavy gamer, don't buy the Note 4. The gaming performance is great in Note 4 BUT after 20 mins the GPU underclocks and the game become laggy because it's overheating. I played intensive games in my sister's 6 Plus for 2 hours and the performance was still good.
Even though I have a Note 4 I would say keep the Iphone 6 plus, I had an iphone 6 and I miss quite a few thing about it, mostly the fluidness of ios 8.2 , I just couldn't deal with the poor battery life , the small and low res screen, but the Iphone 6 plus solves all of that, I would say wait for the note 5 maybe, the current touchwiz is quite ugly, we are still to get the new touchwiz found on the s6, lollipop 5.0.1 is slow , there's no permanent root, the bezels of the phone scratch like crazy, maybe wait a few months for thigs to settle , but I would say right now is not worth it ...

Nvidia Shield Tablet. But if you really want a phone, get the HTC One M8. It has a little slower and outdated hardware but more stable performance when playing games.

My father has it its small but awesome!
What do you think about moto x,z ultra(only if it had qhd.. I mean pixels are bigger than my face) g4 and nexus 6? I guess g3 lags!
I was going to buy shield when i unexpectedly received this gift :/ now i cant change phones for 2 years!(my fatger bought it)
Btw i was just playing nova 3 as test, not even the slightest lag, but its much less intense! I rrmebe whenni first bought it it didnt lag!
@yoniinfante
Im also a fan of Note 4 but you have to accept the truth that iphone 6+ is definitely better in front cam, there's no doubt about it.Also in terms of sound it is mind blowing out of the box & not by modding or rooting which voids the warranty.Gaming is also smooth in it,even playing for long durations.
I jumped ship. I had the iPhone 6 tough.
I do have a reason for the switch though and it stems from the bending issue.. I had my iphone 6 bend. even with the applecare + 2 year warranty, they laughed and told me I sat on it.
I've had every iPhone since they were released..
Went home, posted mine, my wife's iphones, 2 x apple tv and 2 ipads. All gone..
Apple is a garbage company.
The reason why it lags because the phone overheats. So if you know how to tweak your phones and install custom kernels, buy a faster phone and just underclock it so that it won't overheat instead of buying a slower phone. Most of the games can still be handled by Note 4 even on half the clock speed. And when you need a faster speed, you can set it back to normal clock.

Do you have any suggestions for the 910H variant that tends to overheat on average moderate usage? As it has no much custom kernels support

Actually I encountered an issue last time that my phone gets hot even when doing simple tasks. It turns out that some application is consistently using my CPU. You can see the thread I created below.

Install Elixir 2 app and look for any process that is constantly running or getting high CPU on the background even when you're not using it.

Yes. That's the same with what I have last time. If you didn't install any additional third party security software, it could be the Knox application.

Obviously this isn't one of those noob questions where I would have the same ROM since the phone was new except I just have 300 more apps and 150 of them running in the back ground "slow".
It's not that, I have used multiple ROMs, now I'm on I think NOVA or whatever, one of those de-bloated official ROMs. Now days it just feels SO SLOW! And I almost don't install any apps! I have like one drawer page of apps!, the only apps I installed are 9gag facebook and wechat, I don't even install any games, everything else are just stock or Gapps. For example, if I press the recents key, it takes at least 1 sometimes 2 seconds for the recents menu to appear. and it takes about 3 seconds to launch Google Now. With the browser (chrome or stock), while scrolling doesn't lag, but switching tabs takes forever (seconds).
Also battery life seems to have gotten worse, I can always get through the day just fine, but there has been a few times I got home with 5% battery, because it's just always awake! Looking at stats from wakelock detector, the thing is awake AT LEAST 25% of the time (as much as 40%) even when just sitting there doing nothing and there's nothing I can do because the top wakelock calls coem from wechat, google, facebook messenger, email, and samsung stuff, I can't turn them off or I loose functionality. It drains ~20% overnight.
Notice how I've been saying that this is how I FEEL, because I don't really have reliable data for when the phone is new, maybe it's just in my head and it's always been like this? The only explanation I can think of is that I have since gotten myself an iPad Air 2 and it's been amazing, the battery life is just endless it feels impossible to drain even 30% while I can't see my S5 lasting more than 4 hours screen on. task switching on the iPad never takes more than 1 second, and apps seem to stay in memory for longer even though it has less memory.
I know AOSP/CM based ROMs are significantly more responsive, but I can't use them because they're not as reliable, and more importantly, I loose functionality with my Gear S2 watch.
I'm not trying to hype Apple here, I don't want to get an iPhone, if I decide to retire the S5 I'm most likely gonna get an S7. But I'm still hesitant because I saw this video on youtube with practical app launching test on the S7 and it turned out to be still WAY slower than the iPhone 6S, which makes sense. I mean yea Snapdragon 820 is fast, but single core is still not as fast as the A9, and app launching as well as most common tasks are still more single thread dependent. The 6S also has NVMe drives which again, blows away any android phone in flash performance. Some people have commented that the S7 wasn't on Wifi while the iPhone was, but I don't have either of the devices so I don't know if that makes any difference.
I really don't care about benchmark performance I just want a responsive and reliable phone. I'd have gotten an iPhone but I can't for a few specific reasons. One of them being the inability to arrange icons, because they're always in the way of my favorite wallpapers, I know it sounds silly but that's basically the reason I don't want to use an iPhone... I'd generally prefer Samsung because of the amazing screen , there should be no doubt Samsung has the best phone screens there is. iPhone is good for LCD, but cannot compete in absolute terms. So that leaves things like G5 out of the picture because the G5 is still LCD, and not even quantum dot it would seem.
Its just the age and the fact that its a samsung phone man....Samsung ages horribly, no worthwhile updates no good dev support because of the division of exynos and snapdragon.. Even an a3 is faster than my s5 in general use on stock rom...best remedy is to go for cm or change phone. Cause this is Samsung and once you buy a samsung device it loses all of its value in 10 months.
I highly recommend you the MM leaked rom 6.0.1 Better than any rom I've tried till now..
Everything works, running smooth and fast without any lag.

Facebook is known to be a massive battery drain on different platforms
Clear caches from recovery, that can help improve things again

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Things I love so far from my hands on experience. The more squared corners. I feel the note should be almost flat and I feel they met that. The size of the screen. 6gb ram. Water proof. Even more refined S pen and the new features. Of course the Qhd Oled screen.

No physical home button. Taller than Note 5. Narrow screen.
Played with it at the store and honestly don't like it. If Nokia 8 or Oneplus 5 included a real wacom pen (a k a S-Pen) I would jump ship.

I'm not a fan of the skinny phone trend either. I had the Note 7 for close to 2 months and I've spent some time playing around with the s8+ while anticipating the arrival of the Note 8. I haven't seen the Note 8 in person yet, but based on the screen ratio I'm going to be disappointed just like I was with the Note 7. I preordered on day 1 because I love Note phones, but it's definitely not the ideal phone. If they had made the phone ratio 16:9 based on the current height, they could've fit a larger battery in it. I'm not asking for a huge phone, maybe as wide as the Note 3, 4, or 5. They seem to be trying to make it a one-handed phone for people with small hands, when in reality it's meant to be a 2-handed phone to begin with. I had problems launching apps in pop-up window on the Note 7. The S-pen couldn't find the starting point with the curved screen. Anyway, the skinny phone with the curved edge just makes the screen way too narrow.
I hear some of the complaints from people who haven't physically played with it, which I can't understand. I've actually played with this phone and I must say this is one gorgeous device! The new S-pen features are awesome! Camera, display and overall design is amazing! I love Samsung because they continue to impress me Note after Note after Note. I've owned every one and they just keep getting better and better. There is things that I wish they would add like a bigger battery and stereo speakers but you can't have it all, overall I am satisfied.
(deleted)
I say, keep the current height and stretch the width to 16x9. Huge screen, more battery. Just like the Note SHOULD be.
I am not so much concerned about a "thin" phone, but a phone that is comfortable to hold. The race for the thinnest phone is crazy, I mean the end of the road is having a chip implanted under your skin, which some companies are already doing.
I am more of less concerned that the battery is too small for this phone and the lack of a 128 or 256gb model + the card slot. Second would be the screen protector issue with the curved screens.
I have big hands and can operate my current Note 4 without problems. I hope my Note 8 (when it arrives) is just as big.
I got mine yesterday and so far I'm loving it. I had an S8+ but it was worth the upgrade. (I have T-Mobile's JOD).
Cheers!
Not as big as I feared
I have really small hands, and I was afraid the phone would be too hard to hold but I haven't felt that way. I've had it three days, lot of setting it up, tweaking it, etc. It's a two handed phone. I generally use the iris scanner which is faster than on the Note 7, so the placement of the fingerprint sensor doesn't bother me as much as it might. It's a beautiful phone, a pleasure to look at things on, and has some really cool little tricks--I can't express how great it is to pair up my budget program and the calculator and have them both up at the same time in a really convenient form.. I've only played a little with the camera but it did a great job of capturing a still image of my two year old grandson who rarely stops moving, without any blur, and the video I took came out really clear and focused on him. The battery life is so-so so far, but it's gotten a work out, during the setting up. I think it's a great phone, and I am definitely falling in love..
Overall.... EXCELLENT phone. However, Hate that the nav bar isn't customizable. Full Screen apps don't have translucent background... This really sucks for me

Smaller battery, but an added spen. The note used to be different from the s series. I think Samsung f'd up this time.
Um, why do all the previous videos and reviews I've seen not mention how far Bixby actually controls the phone? It destroys Siri and GA. I'm blown away once I was shown this. Yea, it does all that typical question stuff pretty normally, nothing special and not as good as Google. But what you can chain together and control on the phone blew me away. I actually get having this and Google going at once, which seemed like a typical samsung waste to me when I picked this up. Probably not news for you coming from S8 etc.
By reviews I mean these Siri vs Google vs Bixby videos where they just ask them the king of France or to rap for them or tell a horrible joke. Why not show that you can control the entire phone by voice haha.

Writing this from a Note 8 now. Upgraded from a Note 4 that was on its last legs. The screen is the same width, just taller. I can put a TPU case in it and it's the same width as the Note 4 in hand. The aspect ratio doesn't effect the screen width, just the height. There is a very small area on the edges of the screen that would be hard to write on, but if you liked the Note 4 you'll LOVE this phone. I certainly do.

I can't get bixby to do ****. If I say send text message to Joe, it won't open up a text screen. If I say call joe it won't do it. I can't figure out what it can do. And it doesn't want to use Verizon's message app. It wants to use Samsung's. Google doesn't care what you use.

How is that on battery? I've used local vpn ad blockers before, and they seem to be battery killers.
The only reasons that I still want root is to install an ad blocker and to be able to work out and kill stupid wakelocks. If I could find a way to do these without root, then this would be perfect.
I've had mine since 9-07. I still have my Note 7. Wow. Incredible screen clarity, Screen scrolls are smooth as glass, and this thing is fast.
It keeps growing on me and I haven't even put a sim in it yet. Case and screen protectors come tomorrow than out with the 7 and in with the Grrrrr 8.
Hey all figured I'd see how many people feel the way I do. I've had 4 Nexus 6ps. I am a massive phone junky and trade up all the time. Recently I traded a pixel for a OnePlus 3t and then ended up getting rid of it and getting another Nexus 6p Ive replaced the battery and I have a new charger port on the way Ill also be replacing the speakers at some point to. I forgot how much I love the 6p I am planning on keeping this phone through Android 9 via custom rooms obiously and I was curious who is with me! I trully like the 6p better then the pixel and think that this phone with the new battery and port should last a long while! Many people hate the 810 chip however I've never had an issue with it on any of the phones I've owned with the chip.
Me bro screens large and beautiful. Also it's still a good speed. ?
Me too. It's a nice smartphone with a good screen, a good battery life and all apps work very well and fast.
I feel like I'm on the Titanic and loving it and everyone else is jumping off getting rescued and I'm still sitting at the bar drinking the highest quality wine. I know my time is up soon but I'm loving every minute until that happens.
Till death do us part.
Lol. I'm surprised this thread hasn't been flamed yet. A lot of unhappy owners floating around.
I love this phone to bits. A recognized contributor friend just picked up a second hand unit last week...ckpv5, king of sense launcher port (rooted version)in m8 forum. No scratches or dents and so far a good battery.
My 6p takes everything I throw at it. Viper, Dolby Oreo, Pixel 2 launcher, sense 9 launcher, pixel camera MOD, xposed Oreo, ex kernel color profiles, high brightness mode, google lens in assistant...
Having the time of my life. But without and thanks to our amazing devs, the 6p will not be attractive to the average consumer.
I just got a nexus 6p to replace my moto z and plan on keeping it for a year or 2. I love the screen, the front speakers and especially the camera. This is the best camera I've had on a phone. I also love the fact that it's very developer friendly.
The battery is crap though. According to accubattery it's down to 62% health. I'll be replacing that myself something soon.
Hey there. I was the proud owner of a Xiaomi MI5, that went trough a lot, 3 screen replacement and 2 batteries, and... It was time to put it to rest, but Xiaomi have proven to be great, have no complaint whatsoever. So, i decided to give a shot to a 6P, with 1 year of use, but as good as new... So far so good, great specs, beautiful phone, so...lets see how it goes.
Bought it for 120 usd and I'll keep it as long as I can. Coming from a boring S7.
No other smart phone has the power of this hardware, + Screen size. I did research for 2 months on phones and this was the only one compairable. (buying it for 350$) no other phone matches that price + specs. None. Pixel has less screen size... less processor... and cost more.. So idk how its a 'better' phone??? I looked for unlocked HTC's droids and other brands. I'm a "phablet" guy. and no one has this power for this screen size... ill never go with a smaller phone.
I'd RATHER LOSE HARDWARE Vs SCREEN SIZE but thats just me
I had to keep it until my phone died maybe, had to use money to replace my PC, because it getting old.
Pixel first gen had to many issue, so I rather avoid it, Pixel 2/XL 2 is ridiculous expensive, I wait till the price go down.

This is exactly what I'm doing. Every new phone I look at has some downside that I'm not looking forward to. Pixel 2 has no headphone jack, OP5T has **** speakers, LG and Samsung phones have bloat and ****ty skins. This phone is perfect for me, I just get the feeling that my days with it are numbered. For now, though, it's awesome.
I almost got a pixel 2 but then I replaced the battery in my 6p instead. I'll definitely hold onto it at least until the pixel 3 phones come out.
Definitely will be keeping mine till it doesn't work anymore. I haven't change any hardware on mine including the battery though its not what it used to be but still I love my 6p till death lol. It's still fast and still works as well as I would hope for. I admit the devs are making me love it this long. I'm using ABC btw.
Been upset with battery life since Oreo upgrade. Going to flash official 7.1.2 and use it until it dies. I love my Nexus 6P!!
as long as it does not die on me i plan to keep it for a couple more years for sure.
i've had my 6p for about just a year now.
i love everything about the phone, had no issues for now thankfully.
no battery issues and no bootloop thingie, and i read often that there are users who owned the phone since launch and had zero issues with it up till now , so i hope it will turn out the same for me, and if it does then i will be good to go for a couple more years with my beloved 6p.

defintely agreeing on the last part ,without our android devs every phone out there would become boring.
btw. Dolby oreo ? i am interested in that, is it any good? i usually use v4a.
I've replaced the battery and the daughterboard/USB port. now I wish I could make it a QC 821 or a QC 835...

I'll give it a go, but I don't mind stock ROMs. I don't have any other issues and have had it since launch. The battery drain is annoying. EDIT: Can you send me a link to the ROM pls? Tried a search... no luck. Thx!
Actually, I remember Apple being investigated in Germany, or somewhere, for new iOS version making older handsets slow to force users to upgrade handsets. I suspect this maybe the same with my beloved Nexus 6P; that would make me angry.

Changed the battery exactly yesterday!
This phone is amazing! I also disabled the 4 BIG core due to the bootloop problem, but hey! My phone runs butterly smooth and cool! It's cooler then before and lasts longer without any noticeable performance drop The bootloop was a win-win trade for me xD
I'm getting fed up with the general laggy performance of my H990DS. It always gets much warmer than it should (with all of the three batteries that I have - two of which are < 6 months old), which may be causing some of it. I do also have a very large number of apps installed, which doesn't help.
I'm looking at current mid-range handsets as a replacement (don't want to shell out >£500 for a new flagship), and am looking at the Moto G 5G Plus, which runs the Snapdragon 765G processor, has 4GB of RAM and a huge 5000mAh battery. Is this likely to resolve the extreme lagginess that I've got used to with the V20?
Same problem here. Let me know what you find.

Could be a starting point:
https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=10307&idPhone2=8238
The Moro G5 is one inch bigger...
Not sure if the battery is exchangeable. No seperate sd card slot. Either Sim Card or sd card.

oh ... snapdragon 632 like in the fairphone 3 ... maybe I am going to consider it ...
PS : fairphone has a 5E coupon now if you subscribe to their mailing-list
Mine was very laggy about a month ago, i saved everything to a hdd. Used lg backup to save all important info. Did a factory reset. But also then i went in settings apps and uninstalled/disabled or force stopped everything that it didnt absokutely need. 1 by 1.i also disabled all animations. I plan on repasting thermal goop on inside heatsink
My 2 gripes. I hate the auto briggtness of the display when the screen is off. Meaning, when you have the phone pff the top of the screen shows the time abttery life etc... it gets dark or bright according to what brightness light it sits in. Annoying as feck and woupd prefer to just have it at its brightest level and be done with it
And 2, again, with the screen off, swiping the 2nd screen to get to shortcuts doesnt work many times. Some issue there. I swipe once, it doesnt register, then swipe again and it will act like i swiped it twice and goto media player
Other issues i absolutely hate with the phone. The camera rear glass broke so many effing times. Camera gets ruined as well. I use a bumper case but it just breaks for no specific reason when i have the phone in my right pocket all the time with nothing in it but the phone.
And whos the idiot who didnt add a battery percent number to the top edge as stabdard default? U have to use an external app for that.
Also, i used 3rd party batteries and out of no where it would just bootloop. Im not sure if others have the same issue. Basically, only oem batteries work well. For me now
Not happy with the overall of the phone and will not be buying another lg phone. They made a mistake not continuing battery swapping in v30 onwards so never continued with them.
OK so I took the plunge and received my Moto G 5G yesterday. Restored everything from the old phone. The new phone is MUCH more responsive.
Battery % may be enabeld in battery setting. No other software required.

Why don't you just get a refurb flagship from last year? For even cheaper and way better specs.
Because the battery will be a year old. Rather have a brand new 5000mAh battery from the start, than a used battery which will not hold the same amount of charge, and is probably no more than a year from needing to be replaced.
Plus the Moto G 5G has all the performance that I need, so I don't feel I need a flagship phone.
